    I've never played Dark Souls but people were saying this game is hard so it got me here and the dude commentating made things so clear and easy to understand. Even then I'm not gonna bother trying this game but congrats on the WC.

    I like how the Sens gate skip is literally just forcing the camera into a specific angle that the gate just, isn't there for whatever reason.

    • @raccoon1302
      @raccoon1302 5 років тому +23

      the camera is actually just a symptom, not the cause of the gate not spawning, the glitch puts the game into a sort of "pre-death state" that causes load triggers to not work and the camera to stay looking down on the player

      It triggeres the game into thinking you're dead which unloads the doors, it also works in ds3

    • @PillsHere69
      @PillsHere69 5 років тому +4

      I think it works because the death cam is usually static, so it doesn't render anything if it were to move. Just a guess though

      Way back in the day people discovered the force quit wrong warp where you basically dashboard during a load screen, then they figured out that in the Kiln area it spawns you past the door. Force quit gets patched and banned from the category anyway so eventually they came up with the PCC item swap to trigger the wrong warp.

      @@dawsonwheeler1849 The trick was actually discovered on accident by a casual player who ended up stuck in the kiln. Understandably speedrunners were pretty excited and it turned out the same trick could be used to wrongwarp to other useful places too.

      @@djione the vast majority of skips and strats were discovered by accident. You can't find an exploit by datamining or looking through files.

    I'm digging the way this commentator explains something right before it happens, rather than waiting for it to happen and explaining while we're looking at something else. It's so smooth to follow the explanation that way.

    I get the feeling that the Souls games and Souls-like games have the best runners and commentators by far. It's super enjoyable to watch.
