- A nice little device that is just a tad bit more powerful than the Miyoo Mini. Comes out of the boxes with thousands of games. There are 56 PS1/PSX games preinstalled on the Anbernic RG35xx, and we tested them all! For this video, I bought the 64G version from the official website.
Worth considering that some of these preloaded games are in Chinese/Japanese. But you can always add your own games easily.

@@monospacechannel Just an additional comment & yes, agreed that extra bit makes a wealth of difference... When some channels avoid listing game names even, it's usually harder for viewers to just guess or never know what game was being played!?

@PiotrDrummerPL Change BIOS from settings, there is a custom one available. Sometimes the emulator does not work properly with original ps1 bios, so there is a backup one available.

Ordered one a few weeks ago. Going to go through all the final fantasy games i haven't played yet and hopefully in like a year one of these handheld will be ready for ps2 and that'll be the last system I ever need lol

Nicely done. Was there any way to change languages for FFVII, and the brightness for some of the darker games ?
There is a easy screen brightness adjustable in menu but I want to find a ff7 English rom also

My anbernic RG35XX crash very often when playing Need for Speed 3, almost at the beginning of the race, also it does on Marvel vs Capcom on training mode. Could it be the stock memory SD? People say it's pretty bad quality.
Nice work. Question, during playing those PSX games, did you ever feel the need for analog sticks? I mean, did you miss having it or its not that big of a deal? Thanks and more power to your channel!
Not at all, at least for me. The dpad is nice enough, unless you want to play games like ape escape. But then again I mostly play turn based games/games that don't really require analog sticks.

@@syfamilytv The analog controls on Playstation didn't come in until much later, or it's already got a wealth of games that run as they should/can, without them... Some people hate L2/R2 for camera panning/rotation, but there's also PC MaStER cLaSs & Steamdeck owners/cult, that will give every reason why it's not as good or "proper" as a $3,500 thing.
I feel like while it's good to be conscious of control schemes/layouts, it's more important on the HOW to play the game, or mostly, how to ENJOY playing the game! Is the bottom line..
Analog stick sometimes is more comfortable, for some more than others, but if you've ever enjoyed playing DMG Game Boy, or even something like Nintendo DS/Lite/etc, I don't think you'll miss an analog stick.
For all the naysayers, there's probably a whole lot more people who do or would like a V90, or X18, or Miyoo Mini ... not everything needs HDMI out, dual analogs, 5.1" screens and a week/s worth of groceries in $$...
I've got 2 RG35XX already, and still debating buying a third for all colorways, even though there's only two "versions" out yet (a battery upgrade & I think firmware may differ..)... Weigh your own decisions, and even to the point that if you don't like it, do you think someone else would?
Besides the 400 comments on Reddit why Steamdecks are just superb & superior in all ways.. I'd say my V90, Q90, RG350 (OG), Miyoo Mini and RG35XX have the most miles yet. Retroid Pocket 3TB+ Plus Ses are nice, there's a whole lot of Anbernic doodads out that are swell! But deflating my bankroll is discouragement from trying out "new device" every few weeks, when they get more expensive and "budget friendly" somehow got skewed to the $99< range??? Even gimmicks like the FunKey or GameGear Mini, $200 is funny, considering the actual struggle to find enjoyment playing on a stamp-sized screen.
TL;DR - Want to buy a $150 something, or have a similar experience, fun times & order out food/buy a case of Rolling Rock for the same price!? With enough to leave a tip!!??

Hmm. I haven't tested all the games on mine, but I know my NFS3 wasn't running smooth like that. I wonder if I just need to change out all the ROMs

games has function of "save"?
I added two bin files and a cue file to ps folder for dino crisis. When i try to boot up i just get the initial gore warning screen and it doesnt go aby further. Any ideas?
Just bought RG35XX.
A little jewel this console.
I'm replaying all the titles from my childhood.
Only downside I've seen so far on ps1 titles is a slight audio delay and sometimes some writing in the subtitles is like missing pieces of letters.

Awesome video! You helped me realize that this devices form factor is pretty bad. The gameboy was never meant to have L and R triggers.
Yeah the L and R is in an awkward position. Buy hey, still a bit more comfortable than the miyoo mini!

This design really works nice and isn't bad at all for its purpose.

@@DJogdog I'd say the RG35XX feels more comfortable than the Miyoo Mini Plus due to its slightly larger size, it's trigger buttons are also designed with a larger surface area, not as cramped as the Miyoo Mini Plus

On my RG Harry Potter stops at the same moment, so maybe its rom fault? I`ll try to test it with other versions - maybe it will be better.

This might be stupid but all of these games are preinstalled on internal storage? Or an SD card it comes with? Also odd it doesn't come with the first crash bandicoot. My mom is in the hospital for a while and she absolutely loves crash bandicoot. I couldn't get it to run on my pi no matter what I have tried. I wish I could afford one of these for her right now. She would love this. It's impressive a $67 device runs PS1 so well out of the box!
Mine comes from the 64GB SD card. Most of these games are installed on the External storage, although a couple may be in the internal storage. I can't guarantee what comes in each unit, though judging from experience, it should be roughly the same, with only 1-2 different games. Anyways, wishing her a speedy recovery!

Yup, you definitely can use any micro sd you have
12:01 that’s not the first ridge racer. It has 2 copies of ridge racer type 4 unfortunately. I noticed this yesterday when testing out my rg35xx. Also the road rash on the 128gb card is actually road rash 3D.
Yup, you are right. Strangely the Miyoo Mini Plus also had the same mistake two copies of Ridge Racer Type 4. Apparently they must get their colldction of ROMS from the same place
I just got mine but the pre-loaded ps1 games won't start. It loads for a bit and then goes back to game selection. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Which device would you say was better when it came to playing PS1 games for you? The RG35XX, Miyoo Mini Plus, or the RG353PS with the analog sticks? I'm currently stuck between these three choices for my first retro handheld.
I'm a fan of the miyoo min plus as I can play turn based games with one hand! the RG35XX is better if you need a bigger screen, but playig on one hand is a bit too tiring too. Rather than the RG353PS, I would give a shout to rg353vs which is also a vertical handheld

What did you do to make tomb raider to play? I could only get it to load the menu and after entering the game or Lara's home it's just a constant black screen
