  • I installed a second rotor on My Yagi antenna. Now I can do both, vertical and flat side.

That is by far the coolest CB antenna i've ever seen! Nice work! 😃

Good project, in high school in the mid 60's I had a 3 element beam about the same height. Did not have any rotors but did build a wooden flip-flop with a rope to pull it back vertical. Worked many countries on the old 22 a and 22b channels that were used by oil companies at drilling sights. Skip was thick every day so talking across town was hard on just 4 watts. You should have fun watching how skip twists between h and v.!

I did this with a three element beam back in the 70s. Worked like a charm. I lived way out in the boonies and mounted it on a 50’ tower along with 10’ of mast pipe on top.

Coolest idea I've ever seen concerning antennas! 1 coax, 1 antenna and 1 mast to deal with. Best of both worlds flat and vertical= AWESOME.

My My that is a great idea. One antenna acting as three. You can also talk horizontal, vertical and also at 45 degree. Congratulations.

Having had a Jo Gunn Smokin 2...the benefit of having both V and H are lost when you are the Mower Junkie and you have 20 people coming back to you every time you key up! Keep up the good work.

That's very good. I remember in the late 1970s earlier 80s a lot of American stations were using PDL2 and Antenna Specialist Super scanner Antennas

Very cool. Horizontal or vertical will come in handy with locals. If your signal reflects off the ionosphere (skips) your polarity will be hit & miss. Skip signals can "tumble" polarity. Fun to play with & see which polarity works best for skip at the moment. I have a similar setup with 4 qty Cushcraft 11 element yagis for 2 meter moon bounce. I had some fun today on 20 meters. Long path over the south pole into India (from Utah). The guy in India was talking on a home made rig transmitting only 40 watts and a piece of wire. 73 de AF7FP

Good Idea I've never seen before !! Horizontal to Horizontal Polarity can produce better S/N signal Ratios & Longer range contacts.....
