Yes. You can mount it horizontally directly to the mast and skip using the boom. You can also build two of them and mount both to the boom. One horizontal and one vertical with two coax cables so you can switch back and forth. Thanks for watching and 73! :)

I buy my aluminum tubing in 12' lengths from a local company called Air Parts. There is also a similar company that I found online and have added their link to my website. Visit amateurradio.bz then click on Ham Radio and Other Links. On the next page click Antenna Parts and it's currently the second link on the next page. Thanks for watching and 73! :)

Hi Dave, Why not use a Gama Match on this Dipole? I think that it might be easier to do then split the element. I built a three element 10 Meter yagi beam. I'd like to see you do a Video on a CB beam.

if i was to use tent poles, would they be ok, i think they are made from aluminium but if they are made from steel, would this be a problem?
    Thanks

Where did you get the aluminum tubing. Home Depot and electrical stores don't carry it. Thanks for the great videos. 73's

Hello dave, could you answer this question for me, I have been doing a lot of research into this and I am going to make a dipole inverted v 11 meter antenna. The problem is that I have seen many websites saying the formula should be 468 others say 300, I want to make mine to operate on the 11 meter band for frequencies of 26.965 - 27.405. Can you please advise. Thanks.

wait a min isn't 234 the formula for 1/4 wave? this is what i learned when i got my ticket 234 / 27.2 is 8.6 that is 1/4 wave measurement not half wave 468 / freq is half wave your driven element is 1/4 wave length formula how are you getting 1/2 wave just combing both your driven and ground doesn't make up a 1/2 wave ant shouldn't you use 468 / 27.2 ? to get your length?

      1/4 over 1/4 equals 1/2.

A dipole is a balanced antenna, both radials contribute to the radiation. The majority of the energy comes from the centre of the antenna, most of the current from the centre with high voltage on the ends
