    Hey there my friend, I like your 2-element Yagi. I also like your idea adding the rotor support, brilliant!! I sure hope that the other antennas you made you have safely boxed them all up and put them away for future usage. You have so many to choose from and must be difficult to choose which one you would keep on the roof for any long duration. I like your continued experimenting with different antenna ideas and trying them out etc.. As mention before you should consider putting together a parts list, specs, diagram etc. for each of your antenna projects. Keep up the great work and look forward to your next video. 73, 770-RI.

    I used to run a two and three element to get out locally, I'm 50 miles from the city. I always wanted to stack a pair of these side by side. That way you don't have interference from the pole, and a nice symmetrical, balanced structure.
    You should have spun it around to demonstrate it's directionality and rejection. Basically, show how well it works, because you can utilize this antenna to take out what you don't want to hear, including that annoying local, or a noise source.

    Hey 151...what do you think about putting a 102 whip on a 4 magnet mount and sticking it on top of a metal barn ? I'm thinking the metal barn roof will act like a ground plane, just like using a mag mount on a vehicle. I don't know anyone who has tried it before though. But in theory it sounds like it would work. I've never had a base station before, just mobiles in vehicles. I'm trying to find the easiest and cheapest way to get a decent antenna up in the air so I can have a base radio in the barn. I'm tired of sitting in the truck to play with my radio lol. It may not be the best solution but the 102 whip mag mounted to metal barn should be a major improvement over my Mobil truck setup? In the next few weeks I may just try it .
    JohnnyReb 625 Kentucky. 73s!

    • @MowerJunkie
      @MowerJunkie  3 роки тому

      A 102 should work great on a metal roof barn. I would make sure the entire antenna is above the tallest part of the roof. But don't go too high above the roof, the base of the antenna needs to be close to the ground plane. Good luck with Your antenna, 73's from 151 SC.

      I get asked this question a lot. Most of the Handles and call numbers are Self assigned. Some radio Clubs will give You numbers to use. for example, I'm a member of "World Wide Sidebanders" So sometimes You Might hear Me call out as WWS-568. The 151 that I use comes from the 151 cubic inch engine that Chevrolet made in the 70's, it's My all time favorite engine.

    yes if look you can Play with it-- On spacing on it you can make it as gain - bandwidth or rejection I got a 3 Element but I took 1 off Element off a 20 dollar box used parts thing,, I got because I wanted a lower angle then a 5/8 ground plane .. at 40 feet the doc of antenna here told me a it act like a 5/8 but like pulling a rubber band pattern on it on it, the way I have my now its Rejection but to I jest talk from .375 to 615 when I turn my I can here different stations in southern wisconsin
