    This UAZ off roaders never cease to amaze me. They aren't very reliable, but they're certainly more capable than they appear.

    Для 60х годов УАЗ был очень приличным внедорожником, гармония веса, геометрии, приличной внешности и уникальность 5 дверного кузова на короткой базе. До 80х, выпускались качественно, смело ходили за 200-300км в степь одной машиной и всегда возвращались.

      @@mar7739 я помню когда он появился. Но создан УАЗ был в 60х., долго ждали разрешения от диктаторов партии. Надо было понравиться, чтоб разрешили новую модель внедорожника.

    The G wagon does not need more flexibility to fit to the ground. The G wagon is like Chuck Norris - it make the underground fit ;-).

    Give me a UAZ with 2 lockers. Still cheaper than the other 2 without mods. Also I find the flex in the UAZ more impressive.

    The G has 3 diff locks. flexiblility is no where near as important as locks

    • @peterjuhasz5143
      @peterjuhasz5143 6 років тому +3

      There are Russian made Torsen diff available for the UAZ.The UAZ is part time four wheel drive vehicle, when you engage the front wheel drive, is equal when you lock the centre diff in the G wagen. If you put those Torsens in the front and in the back of the UAZ axle, you are wery close to that what the G wagen has..... and you still have better flexibility. (and save a ton of money too....)

    • @peterjuhasz5143
      @peterjuhasz5143 6 років тому +1

      .....and the UAZ also can be equipped with full lockers too. It's like LEGO play, you can combine full lockers, torsens as you want. The advantage that the G wagen has when it came out from the factory, can be easily catch! There are russian made lockers, torsens out there.

    • @rotzloffel1567
      @rotzloffel1567 6 років тому +1

      yes maybe but they are very rare. The UAZ in this video is a 469b, im wondering how good the 469 would have performed with its portal axles

    • @jakubstrumillo
      @jakubstrumillo 5 років тому +1

      Only 2 difflocks, center difflock are standard in every uaz, he no need one because in 4x4 always get 50/50 ration between axles. And if you add 2 air lockers or hydraulic lockers you will still be cheaper, and whit bigger flex than G wagen

    it was short version of G-class. I'm sure that long Gelendwagen would win

    • @KJOff-Road
      @KJOff-Road  9 років тому +7

      Well, the G wagon is certanly the most capable of these three, because of it's factory Diff-Lock. But for the same reason, it really dosen't need to "flex" much, as it completely relies on it's locks for traction. So all of the older g-clases had/have fairly ridget suspension.
      Thanks for watching

    Why not select 4WD and engage the "G" Wagen diff locks, or was this to entirely pointlessly identify when a single rear wheel lost traction due to loosing contact with the ground?

    • @KJOff-Road
      @KJOff-Road  5 років тому +4

      Yes. That was actually exactly the point. This was only to demonstrate the difference in suspension articulation. And yes, they were all in 4wd low range. But had either the Hummer or the G wagon had their lockers engaged, they would just have kept driving up, until they hit the Mog, or just rolled over...

    Uh if you want a real American military truck get one of the old Detroit 6.5 turbo diesel k5 Blazers or the original h1 hummvee. Seriously any of the civilian hummers like that aren't worth anyone's time.

    • @KJOff-Road
      @KJOff-Road  9 років тому +2

      +sqhatr Yeah, we'd get one of those in a heartbeat if offered. but those trucks are in short supply here in europe.
      But like it says in the description, we do know that the H3 really dosen't have much to do with the other two, but we had it here, so we just threw it in there.
      On an other note. The H3 really isn't a bad truck, but a Humvee it isn't.
      Thanks for watching

    • @sqhatr
      @sqhatr 9 років тому +1

      i guess thats understandable, i am kinda sad you dont get to see the interesting american trucks. Oh well, i wish i could go to europe just to get a right hand drive old school defender.
