It's $40 to basically play a Beta and the game will release 'in chapters' meaning the 'full' game won't be done for years. Characters not having ultimates is the big downside for me, I got bored playing the game after only 2 matches due to this. Only 2 abilities per character, barely gives them a chance to be unique/have their own identity.
Also this being 40$? Like what is the reason for this? Their marketing manager is a braindead idiot? There is nothing special about this game not enough to pay for. If it was free peoples attitude towards it would be different.

lol unstable, I played with a group of friends all weekend and no one crashed a single time. Not even the people with shitty builds. Hell, the reddit has no one complaining about crashes.
This was the most stable beta I've seen from a game. Complaining about subjective things like art and characters is whatever, but why lie. They even patched it twice over the weekend to fix dual monitor bugs that didn't even break the game.

its developed by some former Halo/Destiny game devs. But it's been formated to fit a very generic and oversaturated space.

You’re the first person i’ve seen make the same comparison I did lmao. However, I enjoyed the game due to that very reason. Destiny PvP is dope, but this skips the process of having to grind for builds/gear. The biggest issue is the fact that it’s $40 😂 This def feels like a free to play & there are def f2p’s that have way more content. Unfortunately, this game may have the same fate as Onrush~
I would legit pay money to play Destiny 2 Forsaken Launch PVP again. That meta and player population was absolutely awesome. The guns were fine with not a lot of cheese, abilities were not over the top, and they were way less spam oriented. Destiny PvP has continued to get worse from that point.

Regarding them needing to take some criticism and make some changes, it's not going to happen. The game is too close to release to make major gameplay or progression changes. That's just the nature of AAA game development. Does anyone remember the Suicide Squad delays and how a bunch of people thought they would result in major changes from the betas? Yeah, the changes didn't happen then either and those were two major delays that were a year and six months long.
I mean people have major problems with overwatch 2 so if this fit that hole better it would for sure have spot for people that wanted something close to overwatch 1

Concord seems to be a competently made hero shooter. The problem for me is A) why pay for a new one if I already own Apex Legends or OW 2 and B) what does Concord have that the other game(s) I'm playing do not?
There doesn't seem to be any unique draw and that also means I have no reason to justify the pricetag to myself.
... It also doesn't help that Overwatch has a very extensive and diverse roster where each character is likeable while this game seems to be proud of the fact that there might be all of 5 people worldwide that would actively seek out Rule 34 content for its roster and not regret it immediately.
Graphics and visuals may not be everything, but they also aren't nothing.

Charging for a free to play game in an over saturated genre was always going to make it an uphill battle. But having uninspiring characters and poor map design when they're the life blood of these games was just the nail in the coffin. The politics may be the talking point for many, but really was just the dirt on top. If the game had been quality that could have been overlooked.

I got a beta code invite, played a few matches Saturday and then a bunch on Sunday and everything just felt… generic. Like buying knock off GI Joes from the grocery store aisle as a kid in the 80’s. The characters are clear rip-off’s of Marvel (both MCU and comics) and Overwatch characters. The maps have no soul, the gunplay is just a copy of Destiny and Overwatch, the game modes are the standard types of FPS modes we’ve been playing since Halo 2 and Battlefield. Everything feels like a cheap clone that you KNOW is done better elsewhere. All those “elsewhere” places are free or close to free, so why should I pay for a knock off experience?
I know you hate woke bashing (for some strange reason), but looking at the character designs and the pronouns, you know where their time was spent developing this game.

Let's hope that the commercial failure of Concord and the bankruptcy of Firewalk Studios will make publishers realize that the iconoclasm of traditional video game protagonists cannot work in a free market.

if the character animations look good, but the character designs are too generic and/or repulsive, then the characters are basically polished turd.
You run around the map as characters who look like they've never run before in their life.
It's funny how Joe after so many years and millions of subscribers still uses that helicopter comms microphone :D

I have lived in Japan for over a year now, I am Cuban and no has been no racism or discrimination. Everyone is very kind and loves to include me and share there culture with me, like inviting me for family dinners, car rides, trips etc. a level of hospitality I did not experience in America. Also I live in rural mountain side Japan, very country.
Also there is a Mexican guy in my neighborhood who who has been here for 3 years and local yakuza even took him out for drinks and drifted in cars. I live in Gunma where initial D takes place
I'm Southeast Asian that lived in Japan for three years and yeah, rural Japan where I was at least was extremely welcoming and kind. Came back a couple months ago to the US and I already miss it. Can't wait to stay there again and say hi to my friends back home.

Servers turned off today. All owners offered refunds. No longer sold or supported. The biggest failure I've ever known in gaming.
i bet sony is confused as fuck. Gamers complained about how there are so many battle passes and with microtransaction so they made a game thats like those games and put a one time price for it. AAnd now ppl say it should be for free lol... I dont know if they were planning to just keep adding skins and stuff to the game where progression in the game unlocks it for you instead of microtransaction. Ppl dont know if they are going to keep updating the game or not. WHo knows but i bet sony is so Confused. If there plan was to copy all those free games but make all the skins and stuff free and it unlocks with progression instead of money then this problem is really a Marketing problem.
Whole game feels like you're running on sand. If they weren't too invested shoving DEI into it they would've noticed.

Resources diverted to DEI compliance does take a toll on development. Trust me.
DEI and forced Diversity is an aspect that is killing video games, and Joe wont touch the conversation with a 10 foot pole. Disgusting.
Notice when Joe talks about the scoreboard, this is just one example of game design that is overlooked for the sake of "not hurting anyone's feelings." I simply ask is this what you want to be your primary focus when making games? Making sure not to offend certain groups of people? Its pathetic, games are NOT supposed to be a reflection of reality. These newer game developers need to learn that, yet they seem hell bent on making it reflect the "real world."
Because whether a cast of characters has diversity has nothing to do with game design, which is the most important part here. Yes, cynical pandering to minority groups for cash is bad, but that doesn't make a five v five game have good or bad player progression.
Thw overhyped focus on "DEI" is just veiled bigotry pushed by grifters. "DEI mayor", "DEI congressman," it's become a codeword for a nonwhite person someone doesn't like.
@Montesama314 no it's not it's an honest critique on this new generation of game making being completely identity driven with a bunch of liberal white chicks (and dudes pretending to be them) deciding on what is and acceptable for every culture and group in the world. The only difference between them and Christian groups from the 90s/2000s is their logic and effectiveness

The fact that companies with DEI branches will not hire someone because they are white, especially if they are male, and the fact that your skin color will determine whether you will get the job or not, is racist and discriminatory. We have gone so backwards in this world and people are starting to wake up.
Honestly, I think it looks kind of fun tbh, and would play, but i'm not willing to risk 40 dollars on a game I don't think many people are going to be playing.
