Considering how absurdly popular budget and slightly less budget gaming laptops are, I wouldn't be surprised to hear that the big influx of 1650s on Steam is due to people getting laptops for the school year or the holiday season. The 3060 laptop is just as prevalent as the desktop variant after all!

I'm fairly certain most of those 1650's are in laptops.
Because the desktop 1650 just sucked in price. The mobile 1650 actually packed more cuda cores and clocked nearly as high as the desktop 1650. It also was priced the same as a 1050 laptop and still kept the 50w power draw. So it was fairly decent on laptops.

I've played almost everything that have come out since then at 1080p 30 FPS (and some even at 60 FPS, like Forza Horizon 5) at pretty decent looking settings
It's a bigger, longer Gigabyte card with two fans, and takes two slots, but still does not need an extra power connector, which is good for my relatively weak power supply
I feel that most reviewers who reviewed this missed the point of it though

6600 has about the same performance as a 2060Super, worse RT stuff but that's pretty irrelevant right now. If prices round you are like me you can find a 6600 cheaper than a 3050, you won't even miss the DLSS because the extra power counteracts that. You really should upgrade to at least a 2060 level card to give you a satisfying boost to performance from your 1650 if you can and a 6600 is about 10% faster than a 2060.

Most games, @1080p can run close to 120 fps or higher with the right settings, And still keeping great visuals. While not 100% a high refresh rate build it still holds its own very well. My old FX build held up rather well untill around August, PUBG had an update which ruined the performance, Went from base 60s and mid 80s down to low 30s with the same settings. Poor R9 280 was on its last legs and had to have vram clocked down to prevent major artifacting. the 1650 kept the FX chugging along without bottlenecking and would still for the most part hold up as a backup/guest PC pulling a 60fps experience. That thing was fun to overclock.. Unfortunately as the summer heat died down and the winter colds hit... My new PC runs too cold and doesnt heat up my room anymore. I got a 1650 D6 low profile OC edition and it's good enough for VR and my old i5 4590 HP 800 Elite Desk G2. It was like $240 CAD which was way over priced at the time, but it was also just before the GPU price spike of 2020 and 2021. The same card was $500 a few months after I got it, I could have sold the computer for a hefty profit if I didn't need it.

I still can’t stop playing RD2. I’ve reached the point in which I’ve completed the story a few times, so I now spend most of my time wandering the countryside. I find it to be rather relaxing.

But does that data differentiates 1650 GDDR5/GDDR6/Super versions (heck even the mobile ones namely 1650 Mobile, 1650 Mobile Refresh, 1650 Max-Q, 1650 Max-Q Refresh, 1650 Ti Mobile, 1650 Ti Max-Q) or it just combines all of them?

I have a 3060 laptop version rn but I’m doing a budget mini pc build for light gaming on my bedroom tv. I can’t decide between the RX 580 and the 1650 right now

my laptop has a 1650 and it's great for 1080p gaming imo, with some tweaking in the options i get 60+ fps on all my games, but turning the shadows to the lower settings is a must. watch out for temperature though, it can reach 90+ in some games so i suggest using an external cooler and lowering some more settings.
if you're gonna get a budget laptop then i suggest getting it; but for desktop, as stated in the video, there are better alternatives.

I started my gaming PC build with a 1060 3GB which was overpowered for the amount of VRAM it had and overclocked so simply, but I was going for VR compatibility And 3GB just couldn't cut it. I returned the 1060-3 and purchased a 980Ti which is a beast, but it struggles to reach full performance in newer games unfortunately but, it's definitely a strong contender from 2015
