Michael ''Void'' Page
I can't wait to see M(void)PAGE vs M(void)Mouse
The Void ..... if you know, you know..
@@emmanuelniyo4116 At least sparring would be cool to watch, but the weight difference would be unfair in a real fight I think
He wishes, he’s so scared of the void he stays a mile away from it at all times.
Michael Dingleberries Page
Therapist: Is the void in the room with us right now Demetrious?
"Can't you see it?" He draws an imaginary line with his finger and whispers, "It's between us right now."
😂😂😂
@@SomethingSomethingComplete people...they don't know that they're in the void
@@seldom_bucket "When covid hit, it changed everything. People stopped closing the void to shake my hand. I had always noticed the void, but it was suddenly rampant."
"But the restrictions are over now."
"I know... but I've changed. The void feels... different. It doesn't scare me as much anymore. I've learned to close it even when I'm outside the ring."
*Cut to Mighty Mouse introducing himself to someone, goes to shake their hand but then darts back like MVP a few times, then finally shakes their hand.
His wife tries to hug him*
"I'm the one who closes!"
Okay, I'm done
Therapist ain't ready for Mighty Mouse to cross the void
The leg kicks rarely work against MVP because he uses his lead leg as bait. Because everything else is far away, it's the only thing an opponent can hit without crossing the void so he sees it coming. He's talked about it with Aspinall and Wonderboy.
I would like to see him fight someone who keeps him under pressure on the inside instead of playing his frustrating game. That said, he slogged it out with Mike Perry for 6 rounds and arguably won so who knows.
Watch his fight with Lima, he gets absolutely read like a book
@@andrewtregoning Yea but that's irrelevant now since MVP beat him the second time. 😂😂
@@andrewtregoningIt's a pity Lima didn't read the 2nd book.
only got that chance cause he was dancing 😂😊
@@andrewtregoning Lima was getting his ass kicked by MVP that first fight. MVP just made a basic grappling error when he tried to get up and got caught. MVP proved he's a better fighter than Lima on the second fight with Lima.
Fighters need to wake up and try to get you to corner them cause your fight IQ is insane
hes the best, tim welch is also excellent. i love the void and how they study patterns.
They can’t pay him enough. He makes way more money doing UA-cam
@@angad10lol, everyone does, they just don’t make UA-cam videos about it. Cornering someone in a fight is pointless if you aren’t training with them everyday, you have to know what the fighter you corner does, what his tendencies are, what his strengths and weaknesses are. Knowing about fighting isn’t going to help someone win a fight, you gotta know your fighter.
Yeh he’s good to listen too, wealth of knowledge
Yeah I was impressed by this breakdown
I love what he said about Kevin Hollands frustration with him not engaging. Paraphrasing him, he’s said I don’t fight, I can if I want to, but I prefer to hit and not get hit.
He'll brawl when necessary though.. the man fought Mike Perry in his bare knuckle debut and most people agree it was basically a draw even though Perry got the decision as incumbent champ.
Honesty, As a casual, MVP is just fun to watch when he showboats.
It's much more than just that.
@@rabbitshady499to some...
Idk. His bellator fights were entertaining but his fight against Kevin was honestly kinda boring. He usually does more than that one rush in. But he’s a fun character for sure.
@@Tony-fx9ky He made Kevin Holland look like he was from bellator and Kevin isn't bad bro nearly beat Thiago Santos
He is very gifted. He also never gets touched so he can fight that way 4ever. You are 100% right he is one of the most fun people to watch. He's like the Prince Naseem of MMA 😊.
MVP's one of the rare tall fighters that actually takes advantage of his height and range.
Being 6 foot 3 at Welterweight is not insignificant.
Crazy reach too, almost like a mini jj
@@danawhiteboymini Jon jones is hilariously accurate
@@hulkwithagun9749 lol for sure
@@danawhiteboy lol he taught KSI that style
@@klsecond5755 lol nice
bro, Holland tried to be more active but he couldn't land a shot.
and when mvp let him get close holland took an elbow to the face.
Hollander looked like a amateur turned him into a wrestler 😂
@@dangariepy3750 Yeah, people forget MVP's had a nasty bareknuckle fight with Mike Perry since this.
He can fight close quarter if he has to. He isn't afraid to accept risk in fights.
@@luckyspurs yea, you can tell dj is getting old. More set in his ways and unapologetic about his bias. Its all good though, DJ is still one of the best that will ever do it, Just shows us why ex fighters shouldn't be judges. That holland fight was nuts, i dont think ive ever seen that many spinning elbows land in a fight. Made me an instant MVP fan.
The hardest style to figure out is the style you don't see.
That’s the thing tho MVP is really fast so it works for him
and has a long reach
@@luchannahu5827like a... Snake
@@luchannahu5827 And is basically feinting every time he bounces forward and back at range.
Totally agree! It's point fighting evolved.
@@luckyspursthat part
The barber is talented. The head is shining and no cuts. Wow 🔥🔥
has to be do demoralizing get popped like that and not being able to get close, can feel the frustration lol
" It's not like a pop pop pow.
It's more spastic " 😂
Glad DJ did a video on MVP, I know he doesn't like his fighting style but it's clearly working for him. MVP did a video with Tom aspinall going over why he doesn't fear the leg kicks (mostly due with his movement and spacing) but it was an interesting watch!
I mean the point fighting worked for Raymond Daniels too (and Steven Thompson, but he changed it I think in his mma career). Unfortunately not many fight like this in mma or kickboxing.
@@deutschrapoderwas I think theres not one style now days that will get you to the top 5. Other fighters incorporate point karate tactics in their game like Rob Whittaker or Wonderboy who use that bounce to switch up their styles or to help with their movement. But you can't sit out on the edge and build up the same rhythm the whole fight against the top guys and in a 5 round fight your bound to get timed with most likely a takedown at some point. MVP makes it work because of his brilliant timing and creativty with his counters, but he struggles when someone can change levels on him, as long as they dont run into that flying knee though.
@@coffeine1924 I mean MVP submitted fighters on the ground though, but of course it's not his main game. I think every stand up fighter struggles with being taken down, I mean you could even see Anderson Silva a whole fight on the ground when he fought against someone who has specialized in the ground game. I disagree with the picture you are drawing, MVP has a decent defence against take downs, he is often able to grapple his way out of a clinch.
If I compare MVP with Silva, Silva did more combos I think - not only blitzing - and he didn't hesitate as much to go after someone on the ground. That are the aspects dj criticized, I find it very interesting. MVP has said himself the fight against Holland wasn't his prime performance, maybe he changes some aspects in the future, who knows ..
@@deutschrapoderwas Anderson was more content to stay planted and trade though because he had way better head movement than MVP, arguably best ever. He relies less on his point karate type footwork than MVP does and will also switch to muay thai type footwork and stay planted when he wants too. MVPs rhythm and style is a bit too point karate focused IMO. I think you are starting to see now too at the top level you cant go backwards the whole fight anymore. Guys are pressuring now that eventually your gonna get caught up on the cage. Happened to Izzy in his last couple fights and happened to volk in his last couple too.
Yeah, think Demetrious in severely underestimating how used MVP is to minimising the damage his opponents' kicks do.
I mean, it was literally the exact skill he specialised in before switching to MMA.
sooo happy to see your UA-cam channel taking off DJ!!! so awesome.
MVP is so creative with his striking, a true entertainer in the cage each time he competes.
Reaction videos mixed with a breakdown of some awesome highlights sounds like a dope video.
Excellent frame by frame measurement. Magnificent!
Start of the video had me creasing 😂😂 you and mvp are my favourite fighters, you gotta get him for an interview mighty, goat colab
Always been a fan of his work. Outstanding!!
“Because, I can do everything” 😂 Tell them DJ !!
I love of DJ explains fighting like playing chess, makes it much easier to understand how gameplans are implemented in fighting. I've always wondered how fighters have gameplans when a fight is so uncertain of what's gonna happen
Douglas Lima noticed that he almost leaps forward when he blitzes and just leg kicked him, and eventually the timing lined up and he was able to KO him as he was standing up. Kevin Holland actually knocked him off balance a few times too with the well timed leg kicks
He fought for the title at Bellator twice vs Lima and Storley and got KO’d by Lima after getting swept by a leg kick and awkwardly getting up caught one right on the chin and then later on for his second and last title shot in Bellator, he got wrestled loved by Logan Storley. I’ve followed his entire career and think he’s top 3-5 all time trash talkers in MMA history. When he faced Paul “Symtax” Daley, they had a long lead up and instead of symtax which is supposedly some explosive 🧨 MVP kept calling him Paul “Tampax” Daley - love the dude and think he actually beat Mike Perry at BKFC and that overtime sudden death round or whatever they call it was not necessary at all bc Page clearly outclassed Perry but you know how it is when promotions try to do everything and then some for some fighters while others can never catch a break…
No hate, but Daley's nickname is "Semtex" as in the plastic explosive
@@thegusdad yes Semtex of course
Symtax sounds like Tampax more 😂 but of course Semtex is how you spell it and no offense or hate taken at all. Thank you again!
His wrestling has improved a lot, he trained with a world class wrestler for his fight with Kevin Holland. The guy has ridiculous timing and foot work and has a unique style. The problem is he is getting up there in age now 37 next month. I hope we can see him fight Ian Garry and then Leon Edwards for the title.
Totally unrelated but your background music is so fire, always hopping to that trumpet trap beat
Mighty Void Mouse 🎉
MVP makes everyone watch him.
Whether it's the viewer at home or the guy he's fighting.
“How legit is Steven Seagal?” (Reference to him teaching techniques to Alex Pereira)
Omg that would be so funny
He could watch the Steven Seagal documentary's,
Out for Justice, Marked for Death and On Holy Ground,
then he will be ready to take multiple fights at the same time.
Apparently sensei seagull taught anderson how to throw a front kick too lol
This 🫳 is better than this 🤜 can you imagine if he hand striked full power?
Mmh, I get that the guy would get absolutely destroyed in a fight against any mma fighter, but from my experience, there's always something useful you can learn. For instance, Chin-na, which teaches wrist lock mechanics and how to break grips, I found it very useful in jiu-jitsu but on its own pretty useless. Also, Tony Ferguson used a lot of hand trapping from Wing-Chun. There's always little elements and knowledge you take from people like Steven Seagal.
Really great breakdown, as always. Page was levels above most of his opponents in Bellator, so there was room for striking only and even letting downed opponents back up. That's why so many fans wanted to see him in the UFC. His void game is on point though... if he used more grappling and ground game the guy would be a scary dude. Cyborg's caved in skull shows he still is tbf!
Void video is a great name off the cuff boiiiieeee. Also, plz still do the holland mvp breakdown fo sho!
Dope break down , thx
I am sooo happy he made this breakdown cuz I watched that Kevin holland fight and I wondering what do you do against this style of fighter
Love this guys use of the word Void. It’s like it’s own character.
i always appreciate the goat analyzing fights be it pro or amateur.
Good break down Mighty 🔥
That right hand hits everyone he has fought
Lol hey Mighty Mouse... MVP has spent his whole life mastering this Karate style of fighting. And he has the fast twitch muscle, Technique and timing to execute this style flawlessly. All of what you have said in this video is easier said then done.
i been waiting to see you do a breakdown on MVP since i came across your channel. ok time to hear your thoughts
I always felt like Anderson Silva, Jon Jones, and Michael "Venom" Page had similar styles in MMA.
All they have in common is their crazy reach. Their fighting styles are very different
I hope that wonder boy vs MVP happens I would like to see that matchup to see how a traditional stand up style vs the free flowing style great break down of this match .
love the cerebral analysis my dude..just keep it coming
I could imagine every time you say leg kick MVP just straight punches him
Nice breakdown.
1:24 into the video and the "dingle berries" got me twisted 😂 quality content from start to finish
Wish you would’ve reviewed the cyborg fight. That was crazy.
DJ the type of GOAT to answer his own question in the thumbnail.
Demetrious "mighty madden" johnson! 😂 love the breakdowns with the paint tool!
MVP is fun to watch. I wish you would break down his fight against David Rickels. He was untouchable in that fight, and David just straight up quit.
i was at his mma debut at the troxy in london against ben dishman for ucmma 'cage rage' the craziest spinning kick ive ever seen live
Thank god u put video clips back on im not watching any video talking about photos thank you DJ
That was dope
Management and judgement of distance good footwork and timing. To enter the void needs technique almost as good if not better than the one creating the void
This is the dopest prospect in the ufc at 37 years old no way venom loses and I think he’s gonna set the tone in spectacular fashion #MVPHandsDown
6:51 "But he's so content with going back out. Then he has to start it all over again." ... That is the game of sport/point karate. Score, stop, reset, repeat. It's the style MVP, Raymond Daniels, Wonderboy, etc started in and why their styles are similar. Has clear advantages and disadvantages.
Bashing MVP for a VOID is CRAZY talk! Lol. I know you're a VET, but I literally see with my own 2 eyes 99% of fighters STARE at eachother scared to punch, leaving the same VOID. MVP actually punches.
surprised dj even made a video on mvp.. since he's not a fan of mvp's fighting style. cool
DJ says he loves his style, but i get it Dj did come off across as though he didn't like it, mainly because once MVP has closed the range he doesn't take advantage after the first hit with combinations or grappling. I think there's advantages to both styles. Mvp is more hit and not get hit but you must be on point almost all the time, and Dj's is more of taking advantage of positions with different tools, essentially being more versatile.
@@ishfaqshah7393 It's cool lil bro. He made the video for content, but he clearly doesnt like mvp's fighting style. He doesnt like Ian Garry's either which is similar to Mvp. Counter striker, in and out kinda style. Im just surprised he made the video even tho he doesnt enjoy mvp's fighting style. When i hear him talk about mvp, it feels like sneak dissing to me.
16:17 "my good friend Henry Cejudo said" still awesome to see and hear about their friendship given their past rivalry. Just goes to show it was just competitiveness between them.
"Because I can do everything."
Facts. Those are facts, Mr. M.
I don’t think any of his fights are boring he just have his own style that’s been working for him just one slip up
WE DRAWIN THE VOID WITH DA PEN WITH THIS ONE🗣️🗣️‼️💯
MVP reminds me of mix of Sagat and Dashim from Street Fighter.
"... because... I can do everything."
Yes Sir!
Great vid from the goat, thanks champ!
Mighty Mouse, ur MY Goat 🐐 when it comes to everything u have accomplished in the Sport and u will Accomplish even more without a shadow of a doubt! Ur an Amazing Fighter and highly intelligent in the Cage !!!
You should do a breakdown of MVP vs Holloway. Fun fight
Thank you for pointing out the dingleberries. Wouldnt have noticed otherwise. This is why DJ is the goat.
MVPs footwork is insane
That man IS the VOID
You don't like the style but, This is Karate Point Fighting. He's a Master of this style that's why he's so confident staying outside the distance
Yeah he hating. MVP is one dimensional so he can't do other stuff.
He is well known for travelling to very poor areas around Europe training the younger guys and giving pep talks... Seen em one time in a very rough area in Ireland, training some of the local kids, really great fellow.
My tactic, feint a jab. Run away from their void
DQ by timidity on their end
Mighty Mouse gottta make the theme song “enter the void” by Joey bada$$ lol
Did you know that MVP is really "Death Sentence's" dad.
Frame 1 dingleberriez is the sorta thing I'm here for 😂😂
This flying knee reminded me in Maito Guy in Naruto when he opened the 8 🤣🦶🏻gates
DJ its great to hear giving this unconventional fighter some well earned credit! Hes fun to watch!
0:19 is my favourite part of any breakdown ever🐐🏆
Holy shit DJ has a youtube channel?
How did i not know that
I noticed in his fight with Holland the only time he would engage was when he had the distance and did his leap. I think we all know what he's going to do but it's just unpredictable on when he's going to do it.
Mighty breakdowns are for sure the best MMA breakdowns on the internet!💪👍
Mighty why do you not use oblique kicks?
VERY GOOD !
A good example of the void game being played by both sides would be Machida vs Shogun. Both fights if im not mistaken were patient fights
He’s a menace 🔥💪🏾
8:19 thats what his opponent did against him in his only loss. kicked his leg out as he crossed the void and fell. then MVP got hit with the hardest punch he's ever felt
you should review MVP Vs Lima 1
About to summon The God Hand with all this Void talk
“Fighting style based around the void” = Attack by drawing
“Blind-firing” = The Intercepting Fist
DJ has a great analytic mind. He''ll be an awesome coach once he's finished with his fighting career.
DJ I'm curious if your fight iq transfers over to the games at all
We need to see venoms compilation of extraordinary wins commented by D.J.
My favourite fighter commenting on the style of one of the most entertaining fighters is Gold
Shoulda done the Holland fight! Always trust yo instincts Mighty!
MVP teleports across the Void
You're the🐐🐐🐐
Lima is the only one to beat him...MVP is a special talent...love that guy...👊
@mighty he was the champion in bellator and was also a ten time world champion in kick boxing. He also has fought in various other disciplines , including bare knuckle debut title fight against Mike Perry (which he should have got the decision on in many people's view).
After this video, I’m ready to fight MVP. Side step that void and void that void with my own void.
do we wanna see a point fight match up with MVP vs Wonderboy?
Hey dj Would really love a breakdown of Muhammad ali and his fighting style.
I have a question for you, DJ.
Do you find it harder to fight guys who are shorter than you compared to the taller opponents? If so, why? And how do you adjust your style?
.
I'm short as well and would appreciate your insight. I know personally it's easier to fight taller guys because that's all that I'm used to. So I was really struggling when I spared a smaller guy last week.
Ko reminds me of O'Malley and sterling reachin
