Just to correct your “maybe” with *100% definitely* . No sane person wants to see MVP cowardly collecting points and running away or hugging. It's boring and those kind of fighters are no good for the sport for the fight and for the people .People pay to see fights not point collection competition.Otherwise there is no BKFC but JCPC(Just Collecting Points Championship). Perry was driving the whole fight and he was the aggressor (that most likely huge risk to eat more punches ) and still gave more strikes. I can keep explain you the common sense all day .

Rewatching this again I tried hard to see how Mike coulda won in the judges eyes. And I could not. MVP clearly won. Even just off damage alone. They gave it to Mike to make him the face of bare knuckle cuz of the kind of dude he is.

Yeah but I do think venom was wearing him down w the clinching which should be a point every time , every time venom got in close he ended w a clinch and perry was trying to punch his way out . If venom had more stamina I think he would’ve dominated but down the stretch he didn’t have any power .

Sure, if your only counting face shots. In the clinch perry was going crazy and scoring a lot of body shots which is where i think prople are getting confused about how it was scored. If you land 10 body shots in 10 seconds and the rest of the round your opponent lands 9 face shots you still win the round.

yeah well it all boiled down to the knockDown, that gave Perry a 10-8. So then let's say the judges had him win just 1 other round, that's 3 points each and he definitely won the overtime round due to cardio.
The million dollar question is should Perry's hands touching the ring count as a knockdown, technically yes but it was so quick he got away with it.

Never watch bare knuckle and I'm from a boxing background so don't claim to know how these fights are scored. But as an outsider looking it it seemed to me that MVP won that fight. Amazing effort from both fighters regardless.

They Gave 10-8 Perry in the 1st (Because of the knockdown), 10-9 MVP in the 2nd, 10-9 MVP in the 3rd, 10-9 Perry in the 4th and 10-9 MVP in the 5th. However I can't understand how they gave the 6th to Perry.
This was a robbery. 10-8 Perry first round 10-9 all the other rounds and let’s ignore that Page should have been awarded a knockdown in the 2nd. Someone show me what solid shots Perry landed in the 6th round outside the scramble at the end when both were exhausted . What a robbery - I guess they didn’t want page to come in off 1 fight destroy their man guy and leave, which would diminish the brand .

What's the reason to give the fight to Mike Perry?¿
I think they scored it in Perry's favor just due to knock-down early in a first round. However I would say MVP was causing more dmg and controlled the fight. His dodging abilities and movement seemed to me superior over a Perry.

He was backing up the whole fight though. Its easy to look good when ur on the defense not taking as much risk as Perry. If the league rewards fighters like that with a win, it can cause a domino effect making most of the fights boring. Like we Are seeing with wrestlers in the UFC

After hearing about this fight and finally getting around to watching it I was very surprised to see how it was scored. I thought MVP won 4 out of 5 rounds. I feel like Mike got a real gift with the draw but he definitely made the most of it in round 6

One of the classic counters to a side on karate style is Muay Thai leg kicks, with those not being allowed MVP’s style is working much better than it should. Dumb ruleset

He has tremendous leverage from his long limbs. Very similar frame to Jon Jones.
How is he skinny, that MF is muscle pure, he is not a beefcake, he is focused power. Just his long limbs are probably more powerful due to the leverage they give, thats why his taekwondo long range style suits him so perfect, to get his full leverage out.
It’s so weird finding out about mvp after he teamed up with ksi and seeing this style actually be used effectively and not looking like a hopscotch match

i thought MVP was definitely gonna get announced the winner, but I'm glad it was a draw. that's a badass way for a fight organization to handle a split decision, one extra round

Mike outlanded MVP a lot in the second round, every time page clinched Mike was throwing like 5-6 body hooks all landing. Those count. Round 1, 10-8 perry, round 2 10-9 perry, 3-5 MVP. 47-47 and Mike came with the heavy pressure and more volume round 6

This was a robbery. 10-8 Perry first round 10-9 all the other rounds and let’s ignore that Page should have been awarded a knockdown in the 2nd. Someone show me what solid shots Perry landed in the 6th round outside the scramble at the end when both were exhausted . I think the draw was reasonable. Mike took the first round with a knockdown, mvp took the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, and mike came back for the 5th. The real determining factor was that mvps knockdown in the 2nd was ruled a slip, which was a bad call imo.
They count aggressiveness in scoring and MVP was mainly countering.
At round 5, MVP was robbed. He cracked MP's face so many times with clean shots. An American decision for an American fighter.
Round one was whack when the ref stopped them because Perry got himself turned around. Should have continued and would definitely change the fight.
MVP won this fight, Perry got gifted this one. Even in the last round MVP outlanded him, plus, in the 2nd or 3rd, Perrys hands both touched the canvas and shouldve also been declared a knockdown.

I just watched this fight twice and as much as I love Mike Perry huge fan of his he did not win this fight and it wasn't a draw I think they knew that MVP wasn't going to come back and fight bare knuckle anytime soon.
