      Tbf it doesn't push back the enemies when she uses it so it's not really on the same level as xin zhao's ult

      @@calmgentleman yeah but what you fail to consider is even if every champion on you team has a spell shield or makes you invulnerable, you would either be obligated to use it agains karthus, thus not having that ability for the whole fight, or you can use to block some other ability and then be hit by karthus. Just because he pressed one button. Doesn’t matter the scenario, his ult IS bulshit, but as it has been well put, a very funny bullshit

      It maybe bad for an adc or some low health character with no MR but mord shield is even worse imo, even with serpents fang if he is a level above you or he has enough AP he gets back all his shield back in one hit

      @@TheMagnet92 thats a valid point but the minimal return you get with no map awareness is still a lot, you still do damage to everyone so i think its bullshit

    The reason for master yi's Q being his old R and being op is its origine. It's a carbon copy of Dota 2's juggernaut's ultimate, which is why it was placed on the R slot originally and why it's fundamentally super strong. It's a fucking ult.

      and to think juggernaut ult has a 160 second cooldown at all ranks, and it costs like half his mana pool lmfao

      Well juggernaut ult can crit and has a longer immunity duration. But it's still balanced because Dota 2 heroes have gotten tankier over time, and most heroes have over 2000hp by late game. This is not including armour, where most people will have at least 40% physical damage reduction. If they aren't tanky enough they can just buy a 1500 gold item which gives Immunity to physical damage for 4 seconds on a 20 second cooldown.

      @@rattamytata1970 i know the spell isn't op in dota, though it's still strong especially in early and mid game. What I'm saying is, it's strong by design which is why it's something fundamentally broken on a champion's Q. It greatly resembles Ember Spirit's Q, but ember returns to the casting point which would make it more balanced in my opinion.

      @@rattamytata1970 Yi Alpha can also crit. The difference is that Yurnero's ult not only crits, but also applies on-hit effects, like Skadi or Desolator. Idk how its now, but back in the day it used to be able to proc even Basher.

    Yasuo's ult is fine.. his wind wall however.... that thing is literally game breaking (it has broke the game a few times in the past, like deleteing malaphite for the rest of the game if he ults through it.)

      You guys complain about Yasuo's windwall when theres an ability which does exactly what you hate but better. Samiras W, not only does it block everything around her, it does damage, is on lower cooldown, grants her stacks, and unlike Yasuo who has to play around his windwall she just "has" the "windwall" around her.

    Sona's R is really underpowered. Seraphine's R has longer range which can be extended, wider area, more base and %AP damage, enchants instead of stunning, and costs the same amount of mana

      Seraphine's ultimate has less base damage, higher cd and most importantly it comes out twice as slower and because of that this is more of a set up ultimate, meanwhile Sona's is just an almost insta stun.

      I think they are fair, Seraphine is stronger on cc and size but has a charging period while Sona's is instant and does more damage, plus Sona can get hers to ridiculously low CD like Lux levels of low cd.

    I feel like Yasuo’s wind-wall was somewhat poorly thought through. He can literally just stand inside of it and be immune to projectiles from both sides because of how thick it is. Only one side should actually be catching projectiles, otherwise some really scummy situations occur.

      it's counterintuitive that it ends up basically blocking projectiles from a far larger range of directions than it implies: aka poor clarity. meanwhile braum's shield doesn't block anything coming from the opposite side, and samira's thing is clearly circular.

      Yeah, I always thought its extremely scoffed how he can essentially just place it as an immunity zone after charging in. Some champions quite literally cannot fight him at all.

      @@alveolate Yes but those two are mobile. Yasuo's windwall is stationary meaning a wrong cast can just lead to the opponents running past it and making it useless. Also since the wind comes from the slash on the ground ot would be silly to block just one side

      @@171xlr I don't know where you got that from. Darius has 582 hp, 39 armor and 32 mr at lv1 while Irelia has 540 health, 36 armor and 28 mr. Source: lolwiki. Irelia's stats scale slightly better but she only catches up to him at about ~lv17-18.

    Alpha Strike's only counterplay is running under turret, hoping yi isn't fed, and hoping that you don't die to fast for Yi to tank the turret shots. Or you could also just go untargetable, but that is just fighting fire with fire.

      You could also be playing Leona or Pantheon, wait it out and hit him with your point and click Stun (Or Enhanced Auto which is also point and click, so point still stands)

      As Sion, precharge Q on the target Yi alphastriked to (in case if he is targetting you, precharge it in the direction Yi jumped on you). If the teammate is not a complete moron with odd number of chromosomes, he will stand in the hitbox. Or he might screw both of you by flashing or running away, which, well, happens all the time. I cannot understand or justify why most players in solo queue community are so unwilling to think twice, instead just flashing to tower while being alphastriked. I cannot possibly explain my level of frustration about how often this happens.

      In Dota the means to heal yourself (salve/tango/wand) or get magic resist (raindrop) is much cheaper than League.

      Was just about to say this. . . You got a whole ass 3 seconds to prepare. Do you know how many champs have shields, sustain, MR shields now? Do I need to talk about zhonyas as well? Bruh, it's one of the most underpowered ults in the game for what it does 😂 Most of his kit is actually on his Q, not his R. If something is going to kill you from karthus it's not going to be his E because it 100 to 0's his mana in 4-5 seconds, it's going to be the massive gate that reduces your MR then Q spam that kills you. His ult basically does jack of all in most scenarios.

      Honestly that’s the best way to put it. I played league for years but recently dipped my toes into dota2 and it surprised me when stuns and such are actually 5 seconds long. But then they have items like bkb that give Olaf ult as counterplay to very strong abilities. It’s that balance that made it clearly important to what items you build. B

    Yi's Alpha Strike always reminds me of Fiora's old ultimate, which was removed for being unfair and uninteractive (among other reasons). Main differences from what I remember are that Fiora
    would proc on hits with it (which were arguably a lot weaker back then), but she at least had it locked to her ult with no cooldown resets/reductions on it.

      The main reason they deleted it was because she could stack Tiamats and deal >100% damage to everyone around the main target so anytime the enemies grouped she killed all of them except MAYBE the main target. Then they added moon boi and had to nerf him 7 times in a row...

      Yi's Alpha Strike doesn't apply on-hits, except for when Rito decided it should definitely be able to, including his E.

      It procced hydra which soloed your entire team. It wasn't just deleted for no reason it LITERALLY had ZERO counterplay other than having a team mate near you and she first buys hydra so good luck with that.
      She also was basically a proxy inter that you could not stop no matter how much you killed her. Imagine singed but now singed does damage. That's how stupidly broken she was.

    I could write a paper on death realm. But the other huge part of it is that it separates you from your team as well. Morde has a presence, a scary aoe and big shield. He occupies and creates space for his team... until he R's. There's no information for either team or for either player in the death realm, and even the positional lights bug out and no one is where their lights were when it ends. It lets morde play like an idiot and no thought perma push in lane phase. He spends all his resources to kill someone in death realm, comes out, and has no CDs and has to Zhonyas. Such a weird ability.

    Don't worry guys, Riot will eventually make Soraka's ult not be able to remove Grievous wounds in the future... and then give her the ability to do so again... and then remove it... and then give it again... like it has happened since the conception of the goddamn game...

    Recently i played neeko support versus a yi and everytime he alpha striked someone, that person came to me and i prepped the ulti safely, stunned him right after he got targetable again and then we easily rooted and killed him. Never felt better tbh since this ability is so garbage and unfun

      Same with Sylas. I love playing him and when mid game Yi tries to dive me, i heal up, stun him, ignite and i am the one who gets a kill :D

    5 Badly Designed Abilities for me would be (excluding ones in this video):
    Akshan W: The revive effect has too much variance and has the potential to completely swing a game. Pros voted against allowing it in both playoffs and worlds, and I expect next split we'll see its devastating effects in co-ordinated play if the champion is even remotely viable.
    Gwen W: If you're outside it you can't hurt her, and if you're inside it, she still out-trades you because of the bonus defenses. You cannot play around the ability besides waiting for it to end.
    Viego P: The possession mechanic is cool, but the huge heal and the long untargetability make it immensely powerful, to the point that one reset often means the teamfight is won.
    Zoe W: Another skill that adds too much variance due to the fact it drops from minions, meaning that some lanes can be won from good RNG alone.
    Yone E: A mini Zed ult that allows him to safely go on super deep dives with his Q and R movement. It can be punished, but good Yones won't cast it from a dangerous location.

      Its funny that literally all abilities here are on pretty new champs, expect yone and zoe very very recent releases. While most game studios get better at designing riot gets worse. Hows that even possible.

      @@sarfhfahsafas2029 The original lead designer isn't around anymore, and he was the guy who made a mini-essay on anti-fun mechanics.
      I find it funny that for most of the game's lifespan, Yasuo was the champion I hated most. But in the last 2 years he's not even made my top 5 most hated champs.

      Reading about Gwen's (W), I remember Shen's Spirit Refuge(W).
      For Shen(W):
      If Offensive Revamp:Still blocks physical damage and in addition, absorbs percentage damage (5%,10%,15%,20%,25%) +(5% per 100 AP) total from enemy champion attacks and return as a blast AOE damage.Still triggers Ki Barrier after the skill duration.
      If Defensive:Normal effect of skill. And heal allies inside the AOE with(1%,2%,3%,4%,5%) +(1% per 100AP) of ther Maximum health at within the skills duration.

    Idea for Morde ult: When he ults he doesn't steal your stats, it's just a fair 1v1, but if he kills you in death realm he then he gets your stats. Also remove QSS cleanse.
    Even if Morde doesn't kill you, one of my favorite things about Morde ult is that it takes someone out of the fight. If you are trying to get drake, you can ult the jungler. If there is a really fed hyper carry you can ult them and Zhonyas to take them out of the fight. If you get caught out by 3 people you can ult one and at least take someone with you. There is so much you can do with it.

      what i think it should be is this yeah, but the more people he kills inside the ult the death realm should change, like after 3 people are killed inside it actual terrain appears and he gets a small buff.

      i mean he literally has voice lines for killing people, discarding their bodies and taking their souls or something like that to make himself stronger. this would actually make his ultimate a constant factor instead of hit or miss

      Well if you're that worried about an ability thats already gets countered by 3 items and a bunch of abilities, one day i was fed on mordekaiser, smth like 10/3, i went to a kogmaw that ws lik 3/7. I E Q him, he flashes it, then stops, press w and starts imitating a turret. Even with my R i still died to him. He right clicked on me i did the same + R and i got destroyed. Now imagine with all the items and spells that counters morde abilities and the champion is actually weak past the laning phase.

    My contender for a badly designed ability is Illaoi's E-Test of Spirit. It's not overpowered, just badly designed.
    Her passive spawns tentacles. Her Q slams a tentacle, her w makes spawned tentacles slam. Her E creates a spirit that mirrors damage to its owner.
    Like her passive, her E also makes tentacles spawn if the spirit is killed. One tentacle every five seconds (at level 1). That's four times faster than her passive.
    Like her W, her E also makes spawned tentacles slam. At highest level, her E can make tentacles slam faster than her w.
    If the E Spirit is hit with her ult, she spawns an extra tentacle. And of course, all of her tentacles created in her ult slam autonomously if she hit her e.
    But E is a slow, high-cooldown skillshot that gets blocked by minions. If she doesn't hit it, she most of the times can't do anything, not even the champions and classes she as a juggernaut should be strong against. Her e just holds too much power for all of her other abilities and is too easy to miss. Just a badly designed ability.

      YES, not to mention that her E puts tentacles randomly and sometimes it messes up with tentacle positioning and you end up with bad lane pressure.
      Even challengers like DirtyMobs doesn't have great accuracy with her E because it's just a bad projectile that basically holds the majority of her power.
      That's why sometimes i like to build her with divine sunderer so you can just spawn W and bonk people lol

      It's a cool idea, but like you said holds all her power. I'd be okay if they just removed everything about it except that she makes a clone that can be damaged. And then shift everything else to her other abilities.

      Illaoi E gets too little power for what she needs to sacrifice on her other abilities. Oftentimes, when I play against her as a bruiser/skirmisher and the lane is about even I can punish her landing e... By turning around and killing her, because she has already hit me with her oh so powerful e, so now she has nothing but her weak q and w. Personally, I feel e should not be her entire gameplan, her other abilities should be more rewarding, but as of now, she relies on a bad ability to do anything because the others are somehow worse as standalone abilities.

      It used to be much better designed in that fighting Illaoi lowered the duration of the spirit so you could try to commit to a fight or fake an engage to bait an ult which could work because the Illaoi didn't know if you were trying to all-in her or just hit-and-run. With that removed, there's no interaction. Either she's fed/counters you, in which case it's just free damage, or she isn't/doesn't and in which case she still loses the fight.

    My top five badly designed abilities (other than the ones in this video):
    1. Tryndamere's ult. He just doesn't die.
    2. Gwen's W. A mini Xin Zhao ultimate, nuff said.
    3. Yone's E. Combined with his whole kit it's just crazy.
    4. Vladimir's W. More annoying than Fizz. On a manaless champion, even.
    5. Nautilus Q. The hitbox.

      On nautilus Q the hitbox's width, length, AND speed make it so unfair for a move that pulls you, makes him dash forward and CC with his _auto attack_ instantly.
      Most other hooks have caveats to them, like being slower (Thresh) having to channel (pyke), being thinner (Blitz, even though it doesn't feel like it), having to keep your spacing between the enemy (Kled and Zac) and etc.

      Agreed although I don't really care about naut's hook personally. But tryn ult is so bs. Why don't they reduce it's duration at early levels and increase it to 5 at max rank? As it is now, it's the cornerstone of his kit yet tryn players max it last.

      Agreed on the first 3. The nautilus hitbox isn't a core aspect of the ability, so I would argue that since it could be adjusted without fundamentally changing the ability, it doesn't mean the ability is badly designed. Vlad W I have no issue with, it's on a long cooldown and you don't do very much damage while pooled.

    As someone who has played a ludicrous amount of Mordekaiser, the idea of his ultimate being polarizing is an understatement. On one hand, it's got to be one of the COOLEST abilities in the entire game. I'm sorry, you said this was a team game? No, no it's not. It's a 1v1 deathmatch now, and you're stuck in here with ME. But that's not how it goes. Death realm is either ridiculously good, or completely flat useless. And when it's useless, it feels SO BAD. Because of how simple and..juggernaut-y(?) he is, once you take his ult he falls very flat in a lot of scenarios.
    All of this to say, that while I absolutely adore death realm as a concept, I would honestly take a different ultimate. There's just no way that would fix it to make it fair and fun for everyone involved, and if that means I'd have to have a less cool but much more useable ult I'd take it. Because as cool as it is, it can't be cool if it doesn't work. Which if the enemy team has any semblance of sentience, it probably won't.

      I still agree with your post tho. He's an amazing champ in terms of visuals, lore and design but until they hotfix his R he will never be as good as other juggernauts. His kit is garbage and full of dodgeable skillshots, his itemization sucks, many people can duel him late game and he's nowhere near as tanky as the other juggernauts.
      As someone who plays him I'd gladly give up his R if it meant he could become a less dogshit champ.

      Honestly his old ult let him have ghost dragons and I would be fully happy to see him get that back in a little bit of a modified form like an ability he can cast after a certain amount of time of a dead dragon from either team killing it even if it requires being nearby. Its not even bad cause it increases how strong he is at split pushing.

      @@shinji136 that's the important word, "passive" i.e. it isn't activated by the player, it isn't their *ability*, it's their innate property. may be conditional, but aside from aphelios, and maybe yoric, there is no one on god's green earth with a passive, that could be considered an active ability.

The Fiora player needs to purposefully move around to be able to hit vitals, and the enemy can deny them through their own movement or the use of walls. Also the guy didn't specify "active" abilities in his original post, he just said "ability", which Fiora's passive is.

      @@shinji136 they aren't exactly activating it by a button press, at most an attack press from the right angle, but what i mean is they aren't being given an input from anything aside from their passive condition procking. Yes, unless you actively see to hit the weakspots, you do pitiful damage....but you can go throught the game without purposefully aiming for those spots, and still have them there.
      If it was given, that the weakpoints show up when she activates an ability to mark someone for dueling, then yes, it is an ability, but as it stands, it's an inate mechanic, not a by choice activatable ability.

    Since so many champs have dashes now my favourite ability to annoy them is Poppy W. I've heard so many times how "unfair it is", but I find it quite fun. It's also a niche support pick against dash supports like Rakan, Leona, Pyke etc

    To make yuumi more "interactive" with the enemy, his abilities when she's dismounted should be better than the mounted ones.
    For example turn yuumi's Q into a hard CC if she's not in her W.
    Make yuumi's E don't consume 15% of her max mana and make it more similar to soraka's W, make her decide which ally she wants to heal when she's out.
    R could be stronger in damage or make it stun instead of root if 4 pages are hitted when she's dismounted (all the pages should be hitted dismounted).
    And W is a dash so you actually can't make it better.

    I personally agree with untargetable abilities. It's so frustrating dealing with a yi Q or a fizz E with little to no outplay potential. It isn't healthy for the game and should at least include some risk of outplay. Yone E is pretty busted but if used poorly he can still get bursted and die.

      Dunno what you think about this concept but I personally believe that untargetable abilities should be far more skill based making Yi have to aim his Q dashes and making Fizz e have incredibly short untargetability. Dunno about you but adding skill and difficulty to untargetability not only makes it more fair but more entertaining and awesome. If fizz e was hard to dodge an ability with because of the small window imagine the fucking awesome highlights of people narrowly dodging things with that would make really cool clips and make it feel awesome to play as when you get good at it and still feel decent to play against because there is counter play to the ability as it’s only a short window. Same with Yi if you had to aim his Q there would be some epic moments where Yi bursts down targets aiming his dashes and watching him do some really interesting movement heck we could even see him get played at pro level if he had something like that. Keep the untargetability but add skill and difficulty to it which also makes it so that you can counter it.
      Removes power, adds power but also adds a cool factor. Personally I’d love to see it

      I Think Fizz's E is much worse than Yi's Q, you dont need to auto attack to have a short cooldown on it, Plus' Yi's Q attaches to the opponent and you can get baited very easily, For instance, if Yi wants to dodge a stun he has to go into your face whixh might reault into instant death, Fizz just uses it and bounces away too

    I had a funny moment yesterday when I was playing Eve. I see a low (~30-40%) health mord farming top and decide to pick him off. As I move in to proc my W, enemy Vi comes out and im like "welp, I'm dead"
    The mord ults me and basically prevents Vi from being able to touch me, giving me the kill I originally wanted in the first place.
    (Vi did kill me before I escaped but it still turned an effortless 1-0 into a 1-1)

    One way I think Yone's Soul Unbound could be modified to be balanced is to have it be easy to interrupt. Have it so when Yone gets CC'd, the ability automatically gets canceled and Yone remains on the same spot instead of going all the way back to his soul. So, instead of teleporting back to the original location of his body, have his body instantly teleport back to him. That way, you can have some form of counterplay while still allowing Yone to play safe by recasting before getting CC'd.

    A fun way to remake Karthus's Requiem would be to make it have a similar passive to Kayn's ult: You can use Requiem on all enemy champions in theory, but you need to have damaged them recently. Reduce the channel time a little, give it more damage, and make it only target the champs you've recently damaged.

    I love morde's new ultimate even though it's basically a 50/50 depending if the enemy spends the 1300g but ALL I ask for is for the ult to give true sight while being activated so that it wouldn't cancel if someone goes into a bush.

    I think in smite, tsukuyomi's ultimate "piercing moonlight" is a way better take on an ability like alpha strike. If nothing else, for the fact that you get to see where tsukuyomi is the entire time he's using it, like idk if its just my eyes, but I can not tell which target yi is on while using alpha strike 70% of the time

    14:10 this is actually a major flaw with Mordekaiser's *visual* design.
    Despite the fact that Mordekaiser's lore has fuck-all to do with the Shadow Isles, he is still designed with the black and teal that the region is known for, instead of the black and red of Noxus, which is a little funny considering he basically founded the empire.

    In deactivated moba Dawngate there was a shaper (champion) called Mina, who implemented the same mechanic as Yuumi W few years earlier. She took 40% damage her host did, but on leaving she would dash, shield herself, damage and fear surrounding enemies. As far as I remember, I think this was somewhat healthier approach to constructing untargetable champion.

    Not a top 5 but just 2.
    1 is sivir passive. It's worthless. No one talks about this champ but she needs a rework. She provided NOTHING that other ADC'S do better. Her passive is one of the most useless in the game, granting her a small move speed buff on hit when her attack range is as low as Lucians.
    2 is corki passive. Locking that much power behind his special package is absurd and makes him either EXTREMELY STRONG or mediocre at best without it.

      I think sivir is a fine champion, she does only so much, but she's good at what she does: instaclearing waves, playing the neutral game and facilitating engages for her team with her ult. As for her passive, it's nice quality of life to make up for her short range and it makes sesnse in her kit
      I kinda agree with corki, but the problem with corki is more that his actual ult is so unimpactful so they basically had to give him the package to give him a "wow"-moment

    Mordekaiser is The 2nd best Ganking ult in the entire game just after nocturns. If morde jungle ganks you and he has ult its gg for you, even if u kite him in his ult get ready when it ends because he didnt let u get to your tower and his teammates are waiting outside to burst u down.     back in Dawngate, there was a hero named Mina, she was just like yuumi in that she was an enchanter that jumped into the body of her allies, however *she took damage if her host did* and was much more aggressive in her playstyle. her hard cc required her to jump out of her host and into the enemy team to fear them and her only other way only other way of providing a cc, a slow, was to hit her q single target skillshot q while also attached to a tank, which was far from ideal

    Yasuo’s wind wall is the ability that makes me lose my mind. It should either block basic attacks or abilities but not both. Especially at max rank it’s too safe, and the fact that is spawns inside him means I’ve had games where he W’s in the wrong direction but still blocks what’s being thrown at him. And if he does miss he can probably insta-dash to reposition himself. It’s bs

      One time I was playing shen vs yasuo. I almost kill him but he used his w when I hit my e on him. My "spiritual" sword doesn't come with me because of the windwall (was the clasic shen combo E then Q to cross him with the sword), and I didn't have enough damage to kill him without the bonus damage of shen Q.

Imagine a Yasuo whose windwall could block Ashe’s autos or arrows and then he purposefully blocks her in combat cuz he’s a shit. Think old Tahm W where you could swallow allies but at least it was only one and it was short, so harder to grief with

    Irelia's Q is badly designed and here's why:
    - It has a scaling heal that is a flat percentage of your current AD.
    - It also triggers on hit effects such as lifesteal.
    - It cooldown gets refunded on a kill.
    - It's a dash.
    - It progs her strong passive.
    It's not that any one of these point make it badly designed, it's the combination of these. She literally has a double heal on an ability with no cooldown and it progs her passive and heals her to full with every minion wave. Meaning that because of this singular ability, and how much synergy it has, you need to very careful when laning against her or she just blows up. Meanwhile she has the easiest lane ever as she can clear the whole wave and heal all the damage you are trading with her. It's not that strong level 1 but after she gets two long swords the fun begins.
    In my opinion they just need to remove the scaling flat AD percentage heal from her Q and it's fine.

      @@mr.paperbag771 It's probably one of the rather riskier ways of farming. It makes last hitting and farming under tower much easier, but she is not the only champ for whom that occurs. On the other hand her Qs are easily punished, especially if you have a way to burst her when dashing forward and either cc her or have a disengage. What makes her so disgusting to deal with is her stick potential once she has kill pressure on you. But her E and W have pretty long cds and without her E she won't do shit early if you aren't a Kayle, Lux or Ziggs and let her get onto you with passive stacks. So you get run down as a mage without reliable hard cc and as an adc because it's hard to burst her 100 to 0 or poke her safely. But then again you hard win with Juggernauts and are even with bruisers, fighters, skirmishers, tanks and assassins. She can be really obnoxious, but she is an all or nothing champ that can rarely disengage and has to position very aggressively when using her main ability, which makes her vulnerable to ganks and very hard to play in a losing matchup or from behind.

    I have a hard time knocking harthus R when that ability has been in every moba I’ve played. Dota, hon, and smite all have that ability. It’s not the most interactive but it’s strength lies in map awareness early to finish off low health enemies. Which is great. The real reason it’s busted is karthus can cast it after he is dead. So even if you team focuses him to avoid the massive team damage he can still get it off. That means that no matter what he can do a huge portion of damage to your team during a fight.

    Personally, I couldn't give a better example - Kayn's E. It's stunning how it literally has 4 seconds cd with 2 items and cdr boots (assasin form). It's ludicrously stupid - you need to watch the walls for a ball which you will sometimes miss if he is with the Nightbringer skin, you can't dodge his w properly because his wall movement + insta w is luck based and overall he is insanely frustrating to deal with. I wish you have seen this champ with predator - I was about to lose it :)

      i mentioned this in another comment but while i do agree kayn E is dumb as fuck (i have personally played kayn through all his buffs and they really need to revert some of them after the item rework)
      kayn E isn't the problem; it's how it enables his other abilities
      walking through walls isn't fundamentally a broken ability; it's the walking through walls ALONGSIDE the 5 billion damage explosion AND the 2.5 second invulnerability
      imagine a tank with kayn E, still very good but not as broken because tanks work better as a frontline rather than a flank
      i could see a juggernaut having kayn E (without the movement speed buff) and them still being not as good bc they can still get kited
      tl;dr shadow assassin kayn is dumb bc assassin go through walls. going through walls not inherently bad, only super bad when homing nuke goes through walls

    As a Fiora main, I try in custom to see every évolution of fiora duelist dance
    That scale with Ad so to do 20% HP TD per Vital as you said you must have over 350 AD wich is 1 not worth ( u need item) Or that means u were overfeed so you build AD
    Normaly in late game with the meat Items that deal 13-14% TD per Vital
    I know that a lot but for a comparaison Vayne can do that at lvl 9 !

    I just love when that golden blade lady who can dashy dash your whole screen and when you try to damage her she blocks 50 percent of your damage.Some more dashes later and you die and she lives with 1 hp but recovers it all with some basicaly 0 cooldown Q

    Something they could do with the Mordekaiser R (if they remove the 10% stats thing) is that he can choose to stay out of boundaries or get inside of it, but the enemy cannot, then he can 1v1 someone he thinks he can beat, or just stay out of it if the enemy is too fed and keep both out of the fight for a while. I think it would make it more useful in a lot of cases, without being too OP.

    What bothers me more is that nothing on Yi's kit sells the idea of ancient samurai master. All his abilities are just steroids to his Q. Double auto that lowers the cooldown, attack speed, heal and insane damage reduction all to buy him more time to get his Q again and again. I mean it's a massive AOE damage that makes him invulnerable AND has low cooldown, how does that make any sense?

      If you don't get resets and face a tanky comp, you'll see if around 6-10s of cd at best with a few hits feels low cd
      Also W reduction is like 35% reduction only at rank 1 and unless you reach 30+ minutes you don't tank anything because most builds include healing reduction, making your massive (lol) 100hp back halved to 50 because timing it a low health isn't always possible, most of the time W only serves as an early AA reset with 30s cd
      So yeah it makes sense because he needs it, otherwise he would just be useless and even then there's a reason why you don't see him in high elo, you would need to completely rework the champion to get rid of this ability

      i think they should remake his passive, instead of simply attacking more, it should require him to stop attacking, so his first strike hits twice, then he has to stop attacking, use alpha strike to catch up, hits twice, uses W to heal and tank damage, then hits twice again, and his ultimate removing slows would allow him to enter and leave combat in order to activate the passive, he would feel more like a samurai waiting for the perfect time to strike
      current master just keeps attacking like an idiot because every attack reduces the cooldown of everything

    I personally believe that one of the worst offenders for badly designed abilities is Yasuo Windwall, the biggest reason being that it just doesn't fit the champ design. When you look at Yasuo you see a hyper mobile assasin/carry out samurai. He hits like a truck and is nearly impossible to lock down but IF you hit him with something he will feel it. So now let's give him a DEFENSIVE ability that can lock out and area that's stronger than a champion who's design is literally that he has a shield to protect his team. He puts down some wind that blocks ALL ranged damage and covers a full lane at max rank on a edgelord solo carry assasin, it just doesn't fit the design for me that he has such a strong defensive team ability when his whole design is this lone wander samurai assasin, genuinely if he got like a parry for .5 seconds or had an untargetability stance like Jax it'd be better even if it was stronger for him since atleast it would fit the champ identity, instead of "oh yeah watch out for the edgelord weeb samurai he can protect his whole team including the shield guy and won't get stunned". Yes I main Braum how could you tell?

      Hes only impossible to lock down on lane, but if he didnt have it in river he would be so much weaker, his E has no range so he cant gap close so even if he had a jax parry he would still lose. His windwall is the only thing that stops him getting kited the shit out of in fight anywhere but on lanes.

Regardless of how he needs it to help deal with ranged champs it just doesn't fit. Putting this ability on a tank or even an enchanter yeah sure makes sense, but Yasuo? Genuinely speaking would prefer if he had a malph ult or Camille E instead, even if they're stronger atleast they'd fit the idea of him being a squishy high speed, high tempo damage carry

    Death Realm: I wouldn't say the spell itself is badly designed as much as Morde is badly designed as a whole. If Morde wasn't such a bland mess of a stat check, forcing a 1v1 would be a cool concept, but his P/Q/W/E are simply not interesting enough for that to be a thing.
    Yuumi: Should not exist.
    Alpha: Genuinely a good design. It provides the squishy AF Yi with some much needed I-frames while forcing him to go in and giving enemies a moment to prepare for his burst damage, rather than him just appearing on top of you instantly and popping you like newer releases. If you lack burst or CC he's going to kill you, but if you have those at the ready you can not only lock him down out of Alpha, but in doing so you prevent him from doing it again and being safe.
    Duelist Dance: There is genuinely nothing wrong with % HP true damage. Yes, it bypasses tank stats, but *that's the point*. Fiora's entire schtick is that if you send somebody to 1v1 her she's going to shred them. The only problem with this ability is how it plays out in the laning phase; if you get a forward-facing vital you cannot approach the creep wave as a melee.
    Requiem: This ability is perfect. A spell does not need a million fancy mechanics to be cool, and it doesn't need to be a skillshot to have meaningful counterplay. There are so many ways of surviving this spell (items, summoner spells, and just regular abilities) and it has enough weaknesses that it's absolutely fair to go against while still being powerful. It's a long CD with ample warning and pretty moderate damage, so it's only useful with good timing and awareness, meaning you need to plan your deaths carefully to get this off in a teamfight unless you want that Fizz to slip away again.

    I would argue that Fiora's Riposte is a far more unhealthy ability than duelists dance. True, in a fight you need to predict when your opponent is going to use an ability that allows it's full potential, but without that you still get to slowed and crippled them while becoming immune to all non-turret damage.

      I agree, many Toplaners’ only cc has a windup (aatrox, mordekaiser, Darius, we could take sett too, if you count him running towards you and minions) it’s just an easy way to win any 1v1, and not like it has any counterpart, you can’t move, sure, but she also doesn’t get hurt from any side, she has a high cooldown, but she’ll kill you before if she made it to the stun part, or she could just wait, it isn’t like she has more 1v1 power than most of the cast, does she?

      I was going to mention this as well. Plainly, it is a crutch that enables Fiora to duel/fight as well as she does.
      And honestly that's fine, crutches are fine. They're just tools to outplay.
      Flash is a crutch, but it enables a lot more dynamic gameplay and outplays than it does inhibit them.
      Fiora's Riposte however, is a crutch that has a crutch. Damage immunity and a stun is quite overpowered, but its conditional so okay I guess. But then the attack speed cripple and movement speed slow just rewards poor use of the ability too much.
      Like wow do you want to be stabbed in your dominant hand or your non-dominant hand.

      I mean.
      There's one ability that can do up to 80% max health true damages while giving movespeed like crazy and a shield afterwards.
      Her Riposte only stuns if you cc'd her. But it does make her invincible yeah. But abilities similar to those exists already. Jax's E makes him invulnerable to autos, and stuns anyways afterwards. Sett's W makes him have a new health bar (so basically ignore a huge amount of any damages taken for a short period) while slamming everyone with a huge amount of true damage.
      So imo, yeah Riposte is an OP ability and is kinda cringe overall. But her ult, combined with her Q and passive, can just make you instantly die and there's very little counterplay. You cant run, she outrun you. You can stun her, SHE stuns you. You cant kill her, she outheal you.
      I guess the only real counterplay is being a Yasuo/Riven/Irelia and use your million dashes to prevent her from hitting your vitals.

    I would like to point out that Soraka's R always had the ability to remove GW, but it was removed when they tried to rebalance GW. Changes that were reverted, but Soraka's R wasn't for quite a while despite the fact that GW was in the state that caused her to have it initially.
    What it does not do is make them temporarily immune to GW or stop Champs from reapplying it, which is important because most ways of applying GW are persistent(like Varus e or ignite) or able to be refreshed constantly(Executioners, Orb, or thornmail). This means that unless the fight is over, they are disengaging, or the sources of GW are dead(all siuations where GW would wear off anyway), the only heal the removal of GW affects will be the R itself.
    Which, it's an ultimate ability that only heals, on a champ that pretty much only heals(literally half her kit is dedicated to healing, being w,R, and 1/2 of q, which is 2.5/5). It might be annoying but she doesn't do a threatening amount of damage, and her cc relies on allies cc to avoid people just walking it off, so her entire presence as a champ is reduced by 40% off something anyone can buy and can be up 100% of the time in fights.
    I'm not arguing that Wish is a well designed ability, just pointing out that Soraka needed the GW removal back when the only sources of it was ignite, Mormelicon(at the below 40% iteration no less) and a handful of abilities that happened to apply it. If it was deemed then she needed it, now that every tank, physical damage dealer, and magic damage dealer(which together makes up literally the entire cast of LOL) can buy it and keep it up constantly... she definitely does. And in a fight, it'll only affect her R unless she gets really lucky and can sneak in a w before it's reapplied(and there is a .5 second cast time on all of her abilities)

    So yeah, I've mained Mordekaiser since the start of my league career, and his ult just gets countered by everything, illaoi, ornn, camille, Warwick, or when u get stunned while casting it, or doing it on clones , just a lot of examples to go through. And his ult cd isn't that short, and doesn't get lower when u ult a clone or something. You just lose it. And ofc death realm being too big is just another problem

    Yone alone has 5 abilities (if you include his passive) that are badly designed. His passive is Yasuo passive, but also deals 50% magic damage every other auto, so you can't reliably build against him. Q is literally just a better Yasuo Q. W is an AoE %max health damage ability that is practically instant, deals both ad and magic damage and shields for 600 if he hits a champion, and gets increased by 50% for each other champion hit. His E gives bonus damage, bonus movement speed, a free zed ult, a free cleanse and a leblanc W in 1. His ult is a game changing long range ability that can't be spellshielded because it applies a knock down, a stun AND a knock up. This ability has a base damage of up to 600 damage that also is 50% magic damage, meaning you can't build against this. Also, not a single one of his abilities can be cancelled by CC making the usual counterplay of crowd control not effective against him. And they say champions aren't overloaded, what a load of horse shit.

      The magic damage isn't consistent and big enough for you to build magic resist unless you are a tank. If you don't include his E, Yone's Q is actually worse than Yas's Q because it deals less damage. The damage on his W is not even that big unless you're against a champ that builds health. The reason he has that shield on his W is because he is a melee ad carry that is in the rough of things for a decent amount of time. He would actually get deleted if he tried to ult into team fights without his W shield. You would have to Q3 and ult the entire enemy team to make sure they can't damage you. If they have cc, you're basically dead unless you have qss or recast E. His E is probably the most obvious trading ability in the game. You can tell when he going to use his E because of his Q3 noise, but some good players will actually just E and get Q3 during the trade. Also, his E is NOT a cleanse. It makes him unstoppable when he recasts it. His E is only strong once you level it and have enough damage for it to actually make a big difference, which you could call scaling, which is an ad carry trait (yes he is an ad carry even though he is officially classified as skirmisher, assassin). Also, the fact he is forced back to his body with his E actually makes it a lesser version of Leblanc W because she can optionally go back or continue where's she going. Leblanc's trading pattern is a lot more annoying to deal with than Yone's because it is really hard to dodge her W unless you have flash and she can repeat her W with R and then recast W to go back to where she originally was. Her mark also deals extra magic damage if she hits in ability. At least there's a lot more of a chance to dodge Yone's Q than Leblanc W.

    Fioras W also deserves a spot on the list.
    I am fine that she becomes invulnerable and can stun me if she blocks cc with it. That alone makes it a strong ability already and she needs atleast some kind of defensive tool. I get that.
    But the fact that she reduces my attackspeed AND slows by 50% for 2 whole seconds even if she didn't block anything removes so much of the counterplay. You can't trade anymore with that attackspeed, and she can just walk around you freely to trigger the vitals since you are slowed. Especially in the early levels, Riposte is not really a defensive tool, but an all-rounder ability that she can use both offensively AND defensively. It just gives her way too much utility for a single spell.

      Its a skill shot that anyone can dodge and has a 24 seconds cooldown, so theres a huge penalty if you miss it. In many matchups if fiora miss uses W she literally dies on the spot.

    Seeing morde and yuumi right after each other gave me a crazy idea. Would mordekaiser make a good support against a bot lane that has Yuumi? Early levels you just fish with your pull and try to poke, but at level 6 imorde ults the adc, and yuumi is just free gold for mordes adc. Morde just has to survive his time in the realm, and then it's a 2v1, but I could see a world where he wins against the enemy adc as well
    Also, I want to say that you *can* itemize against %health true damage, and that's with shields. I think it's still a crazy mechanic, but having access to shields is the counter to %true damage.

    14:35 There're quite a few drawbacks to having an auto-lock on everyone on the map:
    - It takes a really long time for his ult to deal any significant damage. (Roughly 25+ minutes even when playing dark harvest.)
    - You have to pay constant attention to the *whole* map, which only Karthus mains or high elo players do.
    - His ultimate has a massive cooldown to compensate for this "target instalock".
    - His ultimate can be dodged by many abilities and items. (Ok, those abilities and items can dodge any abilities in the game, but I'm just saying it's not a 100% hit-rate just by pressing R.)
    - His ultimate has a massive channel time of 3 seconds. If he's not in passive and/or is in vision, that's a really long time to either kill him or just interrupt him.
    - If he gets interrupted, his ult goes on full cooldown and doesn't have its cooldown reduced at all.
    - He had no mobility at all or range to compensate for this global ability, just like Taric.
    After all that, I still feel like it's a balanced ability. Karthus is kinda like Xerath in a way: weak all game, but a monster late-game if you let him scale. While Xerath is a late-game monster at mid/long range, Karthus is a global monster.

      Do you know what actually has no counterplay? A god Xerath player like Zwag. When you're so good at aiming that you're literally better than any script that exists.

    I have to agree with another commenter regarding Irelia's Q being badly designed. Does it suit a similar purpose to her old Q? Sure, but I feel where it's badly designed falls into everything that it packs. I feel like it'd be fine if the baked-in heal was removed.

      Old irelia q matched her playstyle more because she was more autoattack focused, new irelia has better autoattacks, resets, cc, and damage reduction. Too many things compared to her old kit. She can reset her q on 1 or multiple targets now.

    ok here are 5 habilities that i hate in no specific order (english is not my first language, dont get too mad at me for typos lol):
    Mordekaiser passive: I just hate the fact that he gets move speed when he activates it, it feels so random, he already has R and E to keep you close and he can build rylais to keep you slow you down.
    Corki E: i like playing Corki but his E feels so clunky because it forces you to face your oponent, but Corki is a marksman that wants to kite his oponents so you end up using like just a third of the ability.
    Sylas W: this ablity should just be called "win the trade", it gives just to much value for a point and click, good damage, amazing healing AND it puts you in melee range so it is impossible to miss your second E.
    Bard W: Its so fucking bad, even when it is fully carge it heals nothing, it feels like a waste of mana, and worse of all, it is kind of hard to know when its ready, unless you have a skin, the healing just becomes a bit bigger and it feels terrible when the adc takes the heal just before it charges because they just dont know, I just dont put any point in this abilty anymore.
    Quinn E: if Quinn was more popular she would be my most hated champ just for this shit, pushes you back, deals tons of damage thanks to her passive and its a targeted ability, it makes it impossible to get close if you are a melee champion, against a good player, there is no way to get close and the only counterplay is to ask the jungler to help.

    Shacos Q and boxes.
    He shouldn't have flash + invis every few seconds. Also his boxes need more cd and a general cool down on whoever they fear so they can't fear you over and over while you try to move somewhere at all.

Most champs run out of mana faster than they manage to deal any meaningful dmg to him while the shitter doesn’t even need manage any resources himself and still has an amazing wave clear lol. He only needs to care about jungle tracking but so does every champion.

    Another problem of Yi's Alpha Strike is its terrible visual clarity. On a 5v5 it's too difficult to spot who Yi targetted with his Q and so almost impossible to control him right at the end of his invulnerability (except for instant controls which are rare).

    true damage needs a rework. %damage and it just uses the percentage to provide a value that is then mitigated by armor and all. Simple. Tanks have been dying to lethality and armor shred already.

    Riot needs to understand that "untargetable" means you can't TARGET the character. It doesn't mean INVULNERABLE. Yuumi really should take damage from area effects while attached.

      Area effects still need to 'target' what they hit, by calculating which targets' hitboxes intersect their area of effect. The way 'untargetable' is defined is that the champion doesn't have a hitbox. She's not totally invulnerable, she still takes damage from DOT effects that applied before she went untargetable. I do agree with the previous comment that she should take harm when her host is hit, I like the idea of CC applying to her as well, and maybe also a percentage of the damage taken.

    I'm a Yi main, and I somewhat agree that his Q can be a bit silly. The main issue is that, as you pointed out in the intro, it's a loaded ability, and the only means he has to do basically anything. I've always wondered how it would work if instead, it wasn't a targeted point and click, but a skill shot with single target damage as opposed to multi target on champions. So, instead of just running at someone with Q preloaded, you have to hit it at the right time or be stuck dealing no damage and out of position

    One thing I suggest Riot does with alpha strike is to clearly indicate which target Yi chooses. The annoyance I have against this ability is not knowing where he will be to use countermeasures.

    If we count Legends of Runeterra, Pantheon's 'ultimate' (his level up) represents an *enormous* power swing for how easy it can be to activate. That would potentially be fine, but its effects are also random, meaning it's entirely possible to just lose immediately if your opponent high-rolls into Scout and Elusive, attacking you twice with a now unblockable unit that also heals them with each strike (if they got Lifesteal), can't be whittled down (if they got Regeneration), and/or can't be targeted by spells (if they got Spellshield). On a unit that already starts with three very powerful keywords, it's insane.

    A lot of the times when I'm playing yuumi, her w feels like a negative more than a positive. It's really hard to explain without putting tons of games on her, but there are a ton of times where I wish I was just playing soraka instead when playing her. But I won't deny there are situations where her w is op for sure. But her w restricts her so much, I eventually had to stop maining her for other enchanters where I have control of my own positioning.
    What I don't understand though, is why won't riot at least try out different alternatives for her? At least on pbr. Why aren't they trying to fix the problem?

      I think that's what makes her not as bad as people think, knowing who to attach to and when, keeping track of cc to proc the clutch shield in fights, it's all a very unique skill to her that you don't really realize is here if you don't play her a lot. Ultimately you're also very restricted by your teammates, it's why she's a bigger issue in pro than on ladder, ofc you're going to have more of an impact when you're attached to faker than to a random silver master yi about to try to 1v5

    funny thing about death realm is that it makes Mordekaiser the best counter to Yuumi since it's the only ability that transports 2 targets to a separate enviroment (this also counts for Kindred, you can take someone into your R as Morde who is under Kindred's ult and now they have no ult to save them) You still can't target Yuumi herself but you can peel her off her companion which can be enough to kill her and her companion, and in fact there is a Grandmaster Player that plays Yuumi top and they ban Mordekaiser every game since even if your not facing him in the top lane, him just being there is enough to shaft your entire game plan (oh and Mordekaiser Jungle and Yuumi Top exist and it works)
    Also, I once suggested to make it that while attached Yuumi takes a percantage of the dmg that her companion takes, don't care if this takes her into Why No One Plays territory, I think she deserves it.

    They should make it with yuumi that if you layer two hard cc abilities on the person she is attached to she gets bummed off, so you have counter play, yuumi can counter that by just moving to another ally before the second cc ability hits

    My Top 5 badly designed abilities:
    Trynda R - Me no die
    Soraka E - Root almost never procs, you either need to have enemies without a brain or godlike prediction which is a bit whack for just a root
    Syndra P - No passive until lvl 9
    Shyvana P - Requires her to kill drakes to have a passive (makes her really coinflippy to play on lanes other than jgl) and is only some defensive stats
    Mundo P - Interesting concept but either too little or too much counterplay depending on your teamcomb. Also it has inevitable self-damage.
    Unpopular opinion: I think Master Yi's Q isn't even that bad of a design. You just need to pay attention which target he uses his Q on, then just time a stun. If his enemies have at least some braincells he needs to really pay attention so he either Qs a low health target he can oneshot and get out or wait for the enemies to use their cc spells especially because thats his only real mobility spell (expept for his R ms). I usually never have problems against Yi and if he's that fed and noone in my team has tools to counter him, I probably deserve to lose that game.

      I would argue that the silence of soraka e is better than you think, you can chain cc with it if any other teammates have a stun/root/knockup and also since your q slows enemies on a decay it can make it easier to punish a slowed enemy with e, or force them to kite it. Also it’s silence can shut down Xerath ult, Kat abilities, pyke hook, brand, etc. A well-placed silence can change a fight, and since it is instantaneous this makes it easy to throw it on enemy feet to quickly stop certain abilities

      @@alainey I get that but I'm aiming more towards the root than the silence. The root can be good in some occasions but I think it would be better if they replaced it with something less situational like a slow, more range or larger area of effect.
