It should probably be noted that Phantom Membrane can also be a cat gift. Tamed cats that are allowed to follow you will sleep along with you in your bed. The next morning they will drop a "gift" for you, which in typical cat fashion could be fluff (string) or something the cat was proud to have hunted down. Also, Phantoms are also scared of cats, who will hiss at them when they get closer.

That first shrieker activation is something that would've legitimately terrified me if I ran into it organically, especially with the subtitle of "The Warden approaches"
The insomnia timer isn't impossible to check, but you won't see it unless you look for it. If you check your statistics in the game menu you can find "time since last rest", which will allow phantoms to spawn if it's over 1 hour.
I started a world in your seed and thought it was a good idea to mine a staircase down in your mountain. I found out the hard way that I shouldn't when I summoned a warden near my mineshaft. That was a scary morning!
Removing the sculk from blocks is also a good way to expose rare ores, such as diamonds in your world. Also, the insomnia counter is cumulative. So if you do not sleep nor expose yourself to the night sky by staying underground, the longer you stay, the more the insomnia counter adds up. This means that if you do not sleep for a 1000 days underground, when you do finally go out at night, the phantoms will literally darken the skies. It could be a challenge to see how many phantoms that you can kill in one night. Enjoy.

But if a sculk vein was to generate on the side or bottom of that grass block it would still be converted to sculk even if the top is covered. Elder guardians give a status effect and a grafic on the screen. Finally the warden also gives a status effect, custom sound, and the sounds it makes can be heard no matter where the player is. There's an important misconception about Phantoms that I think needs to be cleared up. Although it's a bit less relevant now that Mojang added a rule that lets you change how many players need to sleep in order for nights to skip, I still think it's important to know. If you are in a multiplayer game, and one of your fellow players is far away from home mining or something, and can't/won't sleep in a bed, skipping the night isn't mandatory in order to reset your Phantom's insomnia counter. merely lying down in a bed for one game tick is enough, even if you hit the cancel button right away. And if you play in a multiplayer game with the rule set so that only one player needs to sleep to skip the night, and you play for hours without ever lying down in a bed because someone else was sleeping the night away for you, you STILL build up insomnia, even though the night was skipped. It's just that it will only take effect when you are above ground on a night that nobody slept, and will get swarmed by a huge wave of Phantoms when that happens. In other words, every player have their own insomnia counter. And every one of them only resets independently when that player sleeps, and will still build up if they don't. Resetting the insomnia counter and skipping the night to stop new Phantoms spawns for that night are two separate processes that are both triggered by the same action of someone sleeping in a bed.
What I find interesting is that Phantom Membrane can be used to repair an elytra. Since only similar materials can repair an item, that begs the question : What is an elytra made from?
In insect biology, Elytra are the hard outer wings of beetles. I wonder if the Elytra are shed by some sort of beetle evolution of Endermites? Obviously there's no big link to phantoms other than "it's another mob that flies", but it's fun to speculate about these things.
Also worth noting that Phantoms were originally going to be added to the End too, but that idea was scrapped (probably because you can't sleep in the End, so there would be no way to get rid of them.)
It's a good thing they thought about the sensors only detecting player actions. I was in an ancient city recently and 4 bats were flying around triggering the sensors like crazy

Our player has inadvertently woken him from his habitual state of oblivion, and likely the interloper will pay dearly for his misstep. His uneasiness turns to alarm as he realizes that the hunter has detected him, and the prey panics. His options being rather limited, he frantically begins stacking his precious store of brightly colored wool blocks, utilizing a method commonly known as "pillaring" as he climbs desperately for the relative safety of a stony ceiling well above his head. But meanwhile the blind Warden appears to have sniffed out his target's general location, for he angrily attacks with the most devastating weapon in his inventory: the dreaded Sonic Blast, a thunderous shotgun blast of deafening sound capable of violently battering his victims with often lethal force. His first attempt is a miss but the second is deadly accurate. The hapless visitor somehow manages to survive the titanic blow but he is knocked from his high perch and hurled into space. If he survives the precipitous fall to the hard deepslate far below he will be rewarded with a horrific yet mercilessly rapid demise at the hands of the dark lord of this stygian realm. He will soon respawn in the friendly village presumably a bit wiser but very likely permanently scarred by his encounter with underground horror. Lovely video as always! Just wanted to note that the warden can be incredibly easy to kill if you know how- even without any buffs or totems. If you have a few pillaring blocks/scaffolding, you can get out of range of its blast (I think it’s like 15 or 20 blocks) and then shoot it with a bow. Not all know this but Phantom membrane is very useful, especially when you haven't acquired mending books. It can repair a broken elytra, just combine elytra and phantom membrane in the anvil. ❤😊
It used to be the only way to repair elytra before mending was added to the game. Now it's not really sooo useful as you're much more likely to have mending available before having looted End ships for your wings.
Do you know about occlusion rules in non-straight lines? You showed a sensor and a shrieker on the same plane and in the same line.
Mending and Elytra were added in the same update 😅
@@Pixlriffs Ah, my bad. I could've sworn Mending was the update after the End update😌😅
@@silverutopiaAlso it used to be leather before phantoms were added
Thank you! That was cool
I keep failing at avoiding Wardens😂, hope this video helps.
Phantoms don't bother me much.
I rather not expand skulk, I hate the stuff.😒
babe wake up a new survival guide just dropped
What a legend.
Lol😊
Rain + Potion of slow falling+ riptide trident= poor mans flying.
Do you know about occlusion rules in non-straight lines? You showed a sensor and a shrieker on the same plane and in the same line. But in cities and the deep dark they are often at angles, I would like to understand where to place wool in those cases. After I'm done, my city looks like the annual wool market of a medieval shepherd's country.
You should normalise occasionally starting the video at night. Very aesthetic
The new wiki address!
well i randomly came across a wardens spawn point i guess? he popped up and completely shitted on me 😂 now im thousands of blocks away from home i hope i find my way back
🎉I was here within the first ten minutes!!!🎉
Aww man, new episode dropped
That was so much fun ❤❤❤
Honestly? I've never had any personal experience with Skulk or the "Deep Dark". (Ancient Cities, etc.)
Given everything I've seen & heard? I'm not sure that's a BAD thing!
I currently just found this biome in my Minecraft Survival World on Normal Mode, So I Need a Guide!
Perfection.
Heyo pix, are you going to release a word with your storage room build? I find those really helpful to know how many items ill need
Pix setting that sheep on fire caught me off guard
Takes me back to spam clicking on the sheep in Warcraft
The Machine!!!
If you drop tnt and explode it from a range, does that count as a shrieker trigger?
i tried to sneak past the shriekers, but my cheeks are dummy thick and their claps alerted the warden. i'm sorry. this just popped up in my head while watching this episode
When watching this i saw in the subtitles when the shrieker went off I says "Warden approaches"
I would've just booked it our of there if it was me.
did you know that you can get looting 2 on your bow by putting it on your off hand and shooting the bow?
or looting sword on off hand and bow on main hand
How far we can stretch series of one sensor detecting another and so on...is to create wireless redstone control room...🤔
Each sensor can detect vibration from 16 blocks range...but how far series of sensor detecting each other could be extended ❓️
Is it affected by loaded chunks and spawn chunk limit🤔
Where can I find the lower shield mod?
How do you play this for so long without takin breaks. I always lose motivation and that ain’t used to happen. I love this game and grew up with it. I still play it but I don’t have motivation to play.
Same I play for maybe a month then stop playing for a few months. When I come back I end up deleting my world and starting as new one. I get burned out so easy.
ur a teacher of Minecraft
My friend summoned a warden whilst we were mining and we had 2 escape plans: He dug away horizontally while I dug away vertically upwards. we both died tho so 🤷🏿♂️
This good 👍
Are you going to be talking about and addressing the change with the Wiki and the issues with Fandom?
I’ve mentioned it on Twitter and in this week’s episode of the Spawn Chunks podcast! It’s not something that’d make a topic for a full video, but I think other folks like Xisuma are already spreading the word with a larger reach!
Is this a Decked Out tutorial? xD
Does phantom membrane no longer mend elytra?🤔
It does, we just don't have Elytra yet so I can't demonstrate it.
@@Pixlriffs Oh, good! There have been so many changes, it’s hard to keep up. 😅
You didn't mention silencing the skulk sensor using water.
This is just an introduction to these features, we’ll talk more about how to use them in future!
Riffin on a Monday night
What if the warden was made by a sniffer and a axolotl (sorry if you’ve already said this)
Yessssssss
I died a total of 40 times trying to get to this biome. 20 just trying to get there. 20 trying to get my stuff. I deleted the world.
You can kill the warden by using a lot of iron golems
Have you tried that?
How did you know I got my first sneak 100 achievement yesterday
You weren't sneaky enough
You have similar voice and videos like paul suarez junior
On every ending your name is always pixlrifs
Yep! That hasn't changed in almost 10 years
@@Pixlriffs what made you choose the name pixlriffs in the first place?
Okay so Riffs trivia time; It's a left over, i believe, from an old username when he worked on music production, Wiki Riffs. When he changed to gaming he switched Wiki for Pixl, but he liked riffs so he kept it. Pix, please correct any of this info because i don't really remember where i heard it (probably wikitubia which could be inaccurate)@@redfox3752
Anyone else switch off the warden in game options because they’re cowardly and find it really creepy 😂
How do you do that? They’re demons form my nightmares
@@DiamondBull66 it’s in game settings when you create a new world. You can turn off loads of different spawn types. Think you can do it via a command if you’ve got “cheats” enabled not sure how though
Hi
So, this isn’t a mod. I genuinely hope so, I play on PS4.
just me or is minecraft scary now

Upside-down, the p for pillager is d for di*****ds
