@@Layth01 absolutely. He knows he's sending in fodder, he probably hoped "macro-god" would end up in the title. And it did. He also admits to knowing he's just getting outskilled or out macrod pre-lurkers. "the pinnacle of plat"... Definitely self aware.
the literal macro god lost to the actual macro god LOL. I find it funny how sometimes if these guys just chopped their hands off half way through the game and they would've won. Absolutely loving this.
chopping your hands off halfway through a game is an amazing strategy that works every time you try it. it's very unfortunate that you can only do it once.
at 11:36 we can see our macro god, fly his only oracle into a storm killing it, revelation probably would have helped him out with the lurkers as the man had one obs.
Lol, as a fellow scrub I think I know exactly what happened here. Mr MacroGod has lost a bunch of games where he a-moves a maxed ground army into maxed lurker hydra and gotten completely slaughtered, giving him literally a phobia for lurkers. So those 7 lurkers are probably triggering his PTSD so hard that he was scared to fight with 10 immortals. I know because I've had similar experiences before :) Esp when lurkers are borrowed they can often seem larger than life. So the real thing that defeated him this game is not lurkers but the SPECTRE of past lurkers haunting his dreams every night.
So his problem is not Lurkers, his problem is his fear of Lurkers. What beats Lurkers is same thing that beats Tanks - Chargelots. They quickly close the distance and make it impossible for Lurkers to splash them all at once. As an added bonus, they also beat Hydralisk very efficiently. If there's too much, Disruptors work better. And if there's really too much, air units are necessary. At least that's my D3 strategy, and it works well enough as I rarely actually have trouble with Lurkers these days.
'I dont quite see how this guy is gonna lose this game' - Harstem, in every IODIS replay, before every miraculous path to snatching defeat from the jaws of victory is found
"I have literally perfect macro. I am a macro god. Thats why I have achieved the pinnacle of platinum league." Is this IODIS or an origin story on low-quality copypasta? Had to pause because I was laughing so hard. And again because I started laughing again. My sides.
If you get two oracles they obviously make 100% more damage. But that by itself adds 0% efficiency gain since you also pay 100%. You get efficiency gain for two reasons: 1) you also get 2x more shields and hp; 2) you make damage faster, and thus receive less damage for the same amount of damage dealt. The actual efficiency gain would depend on a concrete scenario. For example, if you retreat an oracle once it gets to low hp, you'll make ~3x more kills, as you do double damage in time when first oracle gets damage, and then continue with remaining oracle.
Oh God just immagine that one guy on a horse with a bow and a few arrows banging with a claw on a bunch of hyper futuristic tanks until eventually, after 20-20 years he makes a dent on the metal armor and the entire country of Belgium surrenders... thanks for that Harstem

“I tried with the two dt’s.” Runs them down a ramp to suicide attack a spore crawler positioned next to 30 roaches, while possessing an Air Force consisting of two oracles.
I get what you meant @Harstem... with two oracles you one shot workers. If you have three you are overkilling if you focus fire so the third oracle is pointless. A single oracle takes twice as long per worker. It's like tank shots and +1 armor on lings. With +1 armor a ling dies to two tank shots instead of one.
He didn't even do bad vs the Lurkers. Sure he a-moved his whole army instead of just the Colossi when he was trying to pick off Lurkers, but at anytime like Harstem said he could have just a-moved and won, even a-moving the High Temps and using 0 Storms. When BLs came out that was another story, he was already behind because he's only on 3 bases and doesn't have the gas income (4 bases/8 gas) to go into anti-BL + have a decent ground force. Sure at 19:30 Lurkers wreck this base and him in general, but that's AFTER losing every Immortals against BLs. He didn't want to a-move vs Lurkers, but he wanted to have Immortal/Colossi fight BLs? o.o. Then due to f2 he runs away from BL/Lurker (okay fine), but he even runs away with the Tempests which could have killed the BLs/Lurkers... Then when he finally uses Tempests properly, he move commands or a-moves his whole army, so 3 Colossi are just walking around on top of a high Lurker count. A few +3 +3 Hydras kill his Tempests, I guess that was the complaint about Hydras killing all air? 3 Tempests at the 20 minute mark is not much air. Maybe macro gods biggest weakness is macro =O
I think protos played pretty well, the only major thing I found is that his 4th base was too late and late upgrades. But the rest looked fine, at least to me
19:45 Running away with the tempests once the lurkers show up, oh my god dude. There's 0 units there that can shoot air, he couldve killed all of those brood lords, but no. Just F2 out of there.
completely flops the reason two oracles are better than one.... as a SC2 amateur I can tell you, it allows the oracles to burn down a worker and continue moving, almost stagger stepping like marines, quickly melting a worker and re positioning which allows you to keep them alive and follow if drones get pulled. with one oracle, it has to focus for a couple seconds on the worker its melting, which gives defenders time to catch up, other targets time to escape and leaves the oracle more venerable and in predictable pathing. with two oracles you can keep your mobility up a bit and keep on their drones avoid defending units and have less predictable pathing which means your units survive
Protoss had so much cash he could have gone carrier / observer and those lurkers would have been nothing. No upgrades was mad. Threw away his observers and oracles, and had no idea of how to maintain range or micro properly.
