Smashing review Rob... I've had my Leshy just over two months now and absolutely love it. It's my 'go to knife' now and I can just echo everything you said about it. Josh has a bright future in front of him 😀👍
EXCELLENT KNIFE AND VERY BEAUTIFUL WORK. ALSO, YOU HAVE MADE A VERY NICE WEB SITE FINALLY. I THINK THAT YOUR BEST KNIVES ARE : THE FTP, THE MK1 AND THE MK2. THE OTHER KNIFEMAKERS THAT I LIKE FROM UK ARE : BEN AND LOIS ORFORD, AE, BISON BUSHCRAFT AND SANDY'S.
Great vid Rob,nice to see you outside reviewing a knife again👌🏻 it’s a great looking knife , no doubt it’s a splendid knife to work with, Josh makes some nice stuff for sure, thanks for sharing ‼️
Hi Rob I’ve got the Evo pro from Josh, it is an excellent knife so I can imagine that the Leshy is equal to it in craftsmanship and quality. Really good review Rob, very honest and thorough. All the best fella 👍
Nice knife Rob FYRD knives look nice and judging by your video perform well........also great to see the medium splitting axe get an airing. Had mine for 20 odd years using it every winter including 7 years in New Zealand splitting 6+ ton of wood each winter!! other than a nice patina on the handle it still looks as good and functions as well as the day I received it
@@RobEvansWoodsman due to the relatively (for a splitting axe) you can get away with some chopping but it really doesn't bite very deep, although the weight helps once you have a notch...not recommended though. I remember an American video where the presenter used one with a silky saw and a good knife as he 'out for a week' kit and it all worked really well together for processing some substantial amounts of wood....... not sure if it would fit the needs of a day out in the woods. However, if you go back to your mates wood with the hut that you have been to you could showcase a saw/axe combo for quickly processing lots of wood...just a thought 🤘
You about made me 💩💩myself when you said you were going to do a “bit of batoning” with that knotty, gnarly log! 😱😂 Only Rad Brad would do that, not Rob.
that is a beautiful knife, and i can see why it’s perfect for you. you seriously had me going on that batoning through that knotty pine lad! jaysus! did you use pine for those feathersticks?
Beautiful blade…please don’t think I’m trying to poke fun…just noticed that almost all videos I see of batoning..everyone switches hands with the blade..as to use the baton with the dominant hand…just curious as to why..I am an ambidextrous person..only bc I shattered my shoulder blade as a teen…and had to learn how to use the opposite hand…but…found out very quickly..it is just another part of the body..and have continued to practice both hands for everything..just incase an injury happens to my dominant hand..
I think switching hands makes double sense because you’re more likely to hurt yourself on your dominant hand if it’s holding the knife (which would be bad cause yk it’s the dominant hand) because your batoning with the non dominant hand tends to be less accurate. So with switching you have more accuracy so as to lower the risk of injury but also in case you’re injured it’s most likely the less important hand.
@@cleanixx5343 I think that if you have no idea how to use the non dominant hand..and you injure your dominant hand..you’re in trouble..second..I understand the situation..it is the less accurate hand..which is why you should start small..don’t use all your might when using a baton..ever…but still..all I’m saying is a little practice does go a long way..a lot longer than one would think..it truly is just the other side of the body..and needs the practice…I not saying you should become fluent in cursive forwards and back with your less dominant hand..just please start small..notches…both hands do a lot of the work anyway…just reverse the rolls…
Great review Rob and skills too. A very interesting knife 👍🔥
Lovely looking knife as well. As you say Rob a decent looking companion knife looks like it would handle camp kitchen duties as well.
Definitely would mate.
The sound quality today was great. We could hear the insects, the ferro rod scrapes, the fire crackling and the knife slices. Outstanding!
No wind!

Good video. Good just using that axe. I am so rusty I would have missed loads. Might have to pick up one of Josh’s knives at the bushcraft show 👍🏼
Awesome knife mate, that axe is crap, I really need a better carving axe , I can do a better job with my GB Wildlife hatchet.
Thanks for another wonderful review. We are currently rained in down here in the Everglades, so once again, i'm going through your playlist!

I have thought about making a video on that axe to see if it's any good at other tasks.

I seen this reviewed a while back I can't remember were now but it certainly looks like a great carving knife.👍🏻
Lovely knife, great content, and review god bless you and your family. Lee
Just finished the whole vid. Looks like a nice tool. I love that nice carvey, pointy profile. Oh, and by the way, your pot needs a good scrub, mate. 😜
Thanks 👍
Very nice knife! You almost had me with batoning that knotty log, until I saw the size, in comparison to the knife. Looks like it carves very well.
👍Nice Rob .I like that blade grind 👌😊.
Looks like a good bushcraft knife. Good review 👌
that small cutting the bark tip is awesome! i need to try that for myself
It's so good!
Great review as usual Rob.
my Leshy from Josh is my go to knife
