I grew up without my father even sending a birthday card my entire childhood.
I grew up with a single Mom who was affectionate but abused alcohol and drugs.
I married a single mother and raised her 4 year old daughter. I had 14 misrable years of marriage but stayed to care for "our" daughter. I adopted her at 5. I took her skiing, camping, surfing, kayaking, to Girl Scouts, church, Father/Daughter dances, taught her to ride a bike, rollerblade, change a car tire, how to tie her shoes, cook, ju jitsu, hook up speakers, use tools, do math, U.S. History, Psychology, Philosophy, Theology and a thousand other things. She was loved and treated as my daughter.
Once we got divorced after my ex cheated on me, the daughter I raised for 18 years never spoke to me again. I was not invited to her college grad (which I paid half)or her wedding. To this day I would help her if she called me because I love her as my daughter. But I do resent the way she has treated me.
      I wish I had known at 26 I was nothing more than a rental/bank/nanny.
If I had a son I would tell him to NEVER marry a single mother starting out. No matter how well she treats you before you marry, you will NEVER be her first priorty. At least when you have kids together with someone their first priority will be your kids!
To a single mother you will ALWAYS be expendable.
If you are a single man with no kids, find a single woman. Not divorced, not a single mom, not a woman with kids that live with the father. You will end up regretting it.

you're very lucky! i'm 28, and would be better off today if i had this advice at your age.
here are some other tips that will make you effective as a man:
      1. always honor your word
      2. hold yourself accountable for what is in your control (take responsibilty for your actions, control your emotions, such as directing your aggression constructively, improve yourself daily (especially when it comes to building your financial acumen), etc.)
      3. be honest with yourself; you have to know your fears and limitations to conquer them
      4. life has its ups and downs, so take life as it comes
      5. practice self-defense
      6. present yourself properly (good manners, acceptable physical appearance, showing gratitude to people who are good to you by also being there for them, etc.)
      7. learn how to communicate as effectively as you can
      8. help others as much as you like, but don't be afraid to confront them if they try to take advantage of you, and don't overextend yourself.
      9. be ambitious in your own way. move forward and improve yourself at a pace that is good for you, but never shy away from competition. men
      are built to compete!
      10. love yourself!!! yes, you should try to be the best version of yourself, but don't compare yourself with others. this also includes enjoying when you do manly things (building something from scratch, fixing something, (___)ing a woman damn good, even something as boorish as belching louder than your friend or male relative, etc.)

A few years ago I did a little experiment. I told 5 friends my bank card wasn’t working and I needed gas to get home. Not one person helped me. Not because they are completely hateful. The reason for them Not helping me is because none of them had 5 bucks to spare. Most didn’t have a car. 5 bucks.
At that point I realized why my finances were in disarray. I hung out with people who didn’t have shit and didn’t care. I was the average of my 5 closest friends.

If you truly think about it for a bit, that's very incorrect. We live in a world where people, no matter their circumstance, are always hating and being jealous of people on several different levels. One man's winner is another man's loser. It's all contextual. Billionaires are some of the most depressed people on the planet, because they can't feel true satisfaction, and their fear of loss is actually increasing. They think more stuff, money, attenttion, etc, will make them happy, but it doesn't. they are screwed mentally. The real challenge in life is not to conquer the world, but to conquer the desire to conquer the world.

It seems to me the money issue is related to the English speaking countries. It's all money related, marriages kept together by money, not by the pleasure of being married.
To be honoust I don't see this a lot in the Netherlands, ok, people get divorced, but they mostly live on walking distance from eachother so that the children can walk to the other parent.
My father was a kind of super alpha, and that was not a very pleasant situation, causing my mom raising me to be careful, turning me in a sort of beta. My sister tells me I was an alpha male when young.
So if you're an alpha man, do raise your children the way you think is right, and I see this happening at home. I get angry at my son's, my wife says: you shouldn't do that, just talk it over... Do not defend them, let them defend themselves!
And it appears I was right. They listen.
I'm with the same girl () for 35 years now, and I see things on the 'market' have changed. I hope my boys can differentiate between a woman like their mother - who has a higher education than me, works 48 hours a week, does >75% of the household and cooks every evening, spends almost no money, runs twice a week and hasn't gained any weight in all those years, doesn't complain if I'm lying under a car the whole weekend and knows a man's needs- and the trash walking around.
And I, well I look like Richard now 61 years of age. That might help...
I just cannot imagine women in general have become bad in 30 years.

Here's what Ive learnt... They DONT ever love you and care for you quite like you think they do.
They will and certainly do LIE! Repeatedly. Straight to your face. No hesitation.
They do and will cheat on you. Repeatedly. Without remorse. And when discovered, theyll think of a reason why they did it which will involve either an ex or you being the cause.
They will coerce you and manipulate you with regards to money. She will gladly spend your money and receive it from you, but will be reluctant to spend her money back in your direction. I use to listen to Rich. Most of what he speaks is truth-ish but nothing amazing. Where he fails is speaking to men in a pretentious downturn. 9% of Americans earn 6 figures and he basically shames you as if you are failing as a man if you don't accomplish this. I've earned well above that but would never talk down to a man who doesn't. Many studies have shown that a single male that earns $70,000 isn't going to have a better quality of life earning more. His mindset on FU money is misplaced. I can see where it stems. He has the same personality. When you speak Rich your words should come from a place of reality that can be applied to the majority of men. Not just your lived reality.
The one thing I find throughout his videos and mindset is applying to the angry, hurt, and jaded men. This will get views and subscribers but will not lead these men of all ages to a place of balance.

He says so. Maybe he still is, who knows. In the online world you can't be all things to all people, in this case, all men. There would be no way to differentiate yourself and it would be bland, very basic stuff. As a result, he would lose money, or at least not make as much. It's all about marketing. As a woman who married a man who didn't take control of his life and still hasn't, I raised my children mostly on my own (their father was involved, no "crazy" stuff). and I agree with a lot of what is discussed here. It makes me a bit uncomfortable as a single mom to listen to some of these discussions but I do see the sense in it all. Men have been downtrodden too much and women literally get away with A LOT these days.
I don't want this reality for my sons when it comes to relationships especially. I sent it to my son's and a couple of my male friends who struggle with this stuff.

Since God Is The Authority* *Over All Scripturual Marriages* *Let's us see what The* *Authority God Himself says* *about Marriage*
      ●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●
DIVORCE IS SCRIPTURALLY NEVER EVER APPROVED BY GOD, NEVER!
      ●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●
      *MATTHEW 5:31-32 NKJV*
“Furthermore it has been said, ‘Whoever divorces his wife, let him give her a certificate of divorce.’ But I say to you that whoever divorces his wife for any reason except sexual immorality causes her to commit adultery; and whoever marries a woman who is divorced commits adultery.

      ■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■
      *1 CORINTHIANS 7:10-16 NKJV*
10 Now to the married I command, yet not I but the Lord: A wife is not to depart from her husband.
11 But even if she does depart, let her remain unmarried or be reconciled to her husband. And a husband is not to divorce his wife.
12 But to the rest I, not the Lord, say: If any brother has a wife who does not believe, and she is willing to live with him, let him not divorce her.
13 And a woman who has a husband who does not believe, if he is willing to live with her, let her not divorce him.
14 For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband; otherwise your children would be unclean, but now they are holy.
15 But if the unbeliever departs, let him depart; a brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases. But God has called us to peace.
16 For how do you know, O wife, whether you will save your husband? Or how do you know, O husband, whether you will save your wife?
      *1 CORINTHIANS 7:39 NKJV*
39 A wife is bound by law as long as her husband lives; but if her husband dies, she is at liberty to be married to whom she wishes, only in the Lord.
      *MALACHI **2:16** NKJV*
16 "For the Lord God of Israel says That He hates divorce, For it covers one's garment with violence," Says the Lord of hosts. "Therefore take heed to your spirit, That you do not deal treacherously.
      *MATTHEW 19:1-9 NKJV*
      Jesus' Teaching on Divorce
19 1 Now it came to pass, when Jesus had finished these sayings, that He departed from Galilee and came to the region of Judea beyond the Jordan.
2 And great multitudes followed Him, and He healed them there.
3 The Pharisees also came to Him, testing Him, and saying to Him, "Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for just any reason?"
4 And He answered and said to them, "Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning 'made them male and female,'
5 and said, 'For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh'?
6 So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate."
7 They said to Him, "Why then did Moses command to give a certificate of divorce, and to put her away?" 8 He said to them, "Moses, because of the hardness of your hearts, permitted you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it was not so.
9 And I say to you, whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery; and whoever marries her who is divorced commits adultery."
      ●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●
      These Scriptures apply to
      1. a male and female marriage only
      2. those who are married to their very first spouse
☆Only a spouse that is deceased from the one living spouse is Scripturally allowed to remarry, no one else is allowed to be remarried according to Scripture
      ●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●
God does not Scripturally authorize nor does God even acknowledge 2nd-second 3rd-third and 4th-fourth spouses

I was rudely awakened by some of the insights. I’m a heavy single mom. I am absolutely not interested in dating anyone while I’m a mother. I want to just focus on raising my children and then when they’re up and out of my house I can go and enjoy my time with men. Possibly a man. I don’t know yet. I could absolutely understand some of those boundaries that he put up. And for a little while I got really angry but at the end of the day I have a son. And I don’t want him to spend his life miserable. I want him to enjoy his life and bring people into his life that support him. I would never want him being played or dragged around by some woman. I want him to be protected as a father, as a businessman, as a human and as a gentleman. So, I agree with you. I appreciate your hard truth. You really made some good points there. I’m happy to see that there are men who are drawing boundaries for themselves, are learning how to protect themselves their finances in their futures. And they’re focusing on things that bring them joy and they’re doing it through excellence. I love what you’re saying. Good job! Not that my opinion matters but I just wanted to say that.

Women somehow don't get that. By all their good intetions especially by protecting them they create weak girly men who won't accomplish anything worth mentioning in life.

I never heard the idea that when you become purpose driven the woman come to you. This makes complete sense to me now especially when I'm now starting to see results. It's almost like woman know when a man is on the verge of creating greatness. The only critism if any is that every man has a different level of greatness they want to be. This explains why a guy making min wage could be just as happy as the guy who makes millions

Idk if its just the higher stress of the worlds craziness these days, but I find myself being more vocal lately. I used to just use the excuse that I'm am speaking about what I honestly feel vs keeping it to yourself all the time (Especially in politics). Its just ranting about world problems doesn't help anyone, especially if you have no control over it. Don't know why it took me this long to reflect on it, but I am glad I am doing it now. He’s basics saying men should step up, become the leader of their own lives. It reminds me of Jordan Peterson... taking responsibility. It is all true. But this is how it should be, it is normal for men to be men, because they can be leaders, they are capable of taking control of their own lives... we used to know this. My question is , when did we lost this and how do we get it back? How do we teach our sons that working hard in their lives is a good thing... change the “victim” mentality? How do we teach our sons that working hard for themselves is exactly what they are supposed to do ..?

@@yme3267 “Independence “ ... it is a very hazy term ; what is that ? Is it being capable to live by yourself? Ok, we can do that , checked. Do we want to live by ourselves? No family.. no children? No husband? Then ok .. it’s all good
But how do we get independent and in a relationship in the same time? There’s the trick. The idea would be, even if you are capable to be independent and not needing anybody to live your life (capable to be self sufficient) which was the idea to begin with; even then, to CHOOSE to get into a relationship with another human being, it is a choice we make . Then we need to respect, appreciate, help each other be what they’re supposed to be. It takes strength and generosity. Being a good human being takes strength, and we need to acknowledge that. We constantly learn , adapt, understand what it takes to fix the screwed up system. And then we need to be honest enough to start fixing it. It will take good people to speak up. With conviction and generosity. Both , conviction of what truth is , and generosity, giving “peace” between man and woman a chance. I think we can do it and we will. Question is when and with how much pain and suffering. I would think as little as possible, no sacrificed generations if we can , thank you very much. But ... we need to work together
      Good people
Regardless of what we are , men or women

A false equivalance that has arisen of late (perhaps it has always been) is that of leader and commander. A leader has a vision and forges their own path towards that vision, inspiring other to follow them along the way. A commander is obeyed by virtue of status e.g. you do what your boss tells you in work because that is what you are paid to do. You don't do what your boss tells you outside of work.
This false equivalance has, in my opinion, degraded the notion of leadership in the comtempory context, mocking individual risk and enterprise. It places saftey in the herd above individual risk, and the status of command as superior to that of the leaders path as status in the herd is collective.
' How do we teach our sons that working hard for themselves is exactly what they are supposed to do ..? '. In my view, the repetition of Rich's line 'Women don't care about your struggles...'. A lot of a boy's/young man's mental energy is spent on women, and this line sets one free from this wasteful expenditure (as it has helped free me at 37 years old). Knowing that noone really cares is liberating, and in my opinion would help boys/young men forge their own paths, as if they know noone cares then they need not humble themselves to those that care not. And would help to free them from the idea that a commander is a leader.

I have always said if a woman has sexy photos available to the public on social media then don't get attached to her.
I guess I have been red pilled before I knew what red pill was.

@Ronald Mitchell this is not clear are you saying a parent teaching a kid religion lead to Millennials? Seems sus. Religion has been around since forever and we are just now developing this terrible generation. Not sure what you were saying there but the increase in secular individuals is much more likely the culprits of such a weak generation. After all they are the children and some grandchildren of Hippies. Raised by the "I don't spank my kids Gen."

When he was talking about red flags I liked what he said about pointing out the facts and let the dots connect themselves. I have to do this for my kids about their mother. We are divorced and she is pure evil. The kids are teens now and they are realizing it.
