Hi Anri,Love your Tattoo stile and quality, can see that there's many years of experience behind that machine. Can you maybe do more real time videos please.I see you are riding the tip for both lining and shading. That's definitely the best way of doing a tattoo for me as well, I feel riding the tip is bad ass and old school and the way to go!!and it also give you a solid line and keep the needle at the same depth all through the tattoo.My First tattoo was when I was about 17 years old and I can remember the artist did it in this style, I really felt it all the way through but, it's 23 years later and the tattoo still looks solid!But yes, would love to see some real time tattooing even if its short videos, in real time.Thank for all the advice, we really appreciate it!

hey anrij, i am working with bavarian custom- coil machines. do you know them? i would like to switch to a cheyenne pen. my work is lining and blackwork stuff in first place. do you think a cheyenne would fit for me. or can you recommend another machine? thank you in advance...keep doin your stuff! you doin cool work!

I just bought this for shading and I’m realizing it’s wayyy too soft. What can I do to to change that? Will sticking out the needle a little bit help?

hi! I always watch your videos and love your works! I recently bought a Cheyenne Solnova but I do not know exactly what voltage to put it for shading, color and line. If you have a form of setting that works and you can help me, I'll thank you!
use any voltage you are comfortable with. ther's no magic number.
some artist line on 7v some on 12V , same for shading / colour etc... what works for you will be perfect setup and number.

Amazing tutorial, about the healing , for projects that take more than one day of work , am i allowed to put dermalize pro on top of it? .. or its too late and i must let it heal normally ?
I cover 1st day work with dermalize.
on a second day I try to work on different area and if I need to then open/peal off only parts of dermalize (where I need to blend in existing tattoo from the first day).
in the end of the session I take the 1st dermalize off and cover everything (both session tattoos) with new dermalize film.

I'm not into making comparison videos. You could check any machine data info info side by side and see it all yourself.
I was hoping you would do a review of Sol Nova! I am getting a cheyenne machine and i was not sure between the Pen and the Sol Nova. Which one is better for detail in black and grey? Thankyou for the video!
Both good, I can do same work with both of them. so I wouldn't say which is better.
sol nova is smoother for black and grey in my opinion.
also sol nova is more comfortable to hold in hand.
both are great and you can check stats online and decide which one to go for.

I have a critical atom and a sol nova. Around what voltage do u use for color packing, shading and line work? I just got the atom and I’m trying to get use to it.
I need to know how work the sol nova or if is better than the hawk pen?
But do you prefer working with the cheyenne pen or the FK irons pen?
I do very thick line work and saturated colors. For the line work I'll probably youse a coil machine but I'd like to have some sort of pen to do the colors. What do you recommand? :)
I don't like recommending anything as what works for Me might not work for You and then I will be the one who blame.
honestly both machines are great for me.
I can do equal work with both - pen or xion.
Pen is easier in the way there's no options , so you just run as it is and get used to it. no messing around.
Xion has lot of different things / changing give / cams / grips.. that machine is more adjustable for your needs what might help you find the perfect combo for your work.
downside could be - that it can get confusing what setup to use with so many options

Do you ever notice that the Cheyenne cartridge needles have too much play at the tip of the cartridge while running them on the solnova? They run with a lot of friction, Like it’s not a straight/smooth up & down motion on the needle tip?
I haven't noticed that, as I haven't used their cartridges with this machine.

Please recomend a rotary for coloring like blending or packing! Im already lookinf for it like 2 months ! Tried sum but didnt work!
I use the axys rotary direct drive. The thing is a beast

I think it does yes, if there's any way to tell that...
I think they void warranty if the liquid gets inside the machine, what's technically not possible with their own cartridges.

Hey. I would recommend to get apprenticeship so your mentor can teach you right way and help you to choose your first tattoo machine ! I got videos about apprenticeship and portfolios, I'm sure they can be helpful for you to learn more. good luck
Is oiling important.. on pen tattoo machine ..if yes how should we do it nice and safely

So hard to buy another Cheyenne product after the hawk pen. It was a great machine but lasted a year. I have much cheaper machines that last way longer. No machine has broken on me but that. Had to change the power chord twice. Especially 800$
Which ones do your use? What could you recommend what's cheaper, but still works amazing?

If you had to pick one machine, which would it be, Sol Nova or Hawk Pen???
Between both of them I would pick - Hawk Pen. that's the machine I'm more used to and been working for many years. Sol nova is Fun, but my heart goes to pen.

it may be not the best option for linework, but if you need a shader and can afford it...
Wompir Dante stick to Coils for line, Micky’s are a beast, pens would work best for shading and colorin,..

both are good. both can be good machines for some artists and bad machines for others.
there's no better or worse . all depends on what you prefer to work with , what are you looking to tattoo mostly , what machines you already have etc..
I always say think about cars - BMW - Mercedes ? which is better?
there can be million different opinions on that. but both cars will take you from point A to B .
same with tattoo machines. they all can do good tattoos.

I’m the new beginner and I got sol nova 2 weeks ago. But I kinda regret after I saw your FK Irons Xion Video.
Now I only use my Sol Nova on fake skin. I can tell it’s really good at shading, but I’m not sure for lining.
My boss said I was ready to tattoo on human in 2 weeks. Since Cheyenne pen is so easy to broke, do u think Xion is a good back up machine?
By the way, using Cheyenne power supply and none Cheyenne power supply, the machine sounds different. So I think I’ll return my Critical, to get a Cheyenne 2.

yeah, I think Xion is good machine. if you looking for liner , in my opinion - better choose direct drive rotary machine with standard needles. or even coil machine.
it will be allot easier then lining with cartridges.

Hello anrijs, can you tell me about your long time experience with the Fkirons direkt 2? now that youve been using it for a while, would you recommend it? any bad experiences, something to be aware of?
I use it for lines only now, as I prefer Pen machines for shading.
No bad experiences with direkt2 , sometimes needle can wobble for 1rl or 3rl, but just need's extra bend on a needle then , at it's all cool. but That's not machine issue, more needle/grip.
Haha yeah, thought the packaging looked like a coffee can once you shrank it to half the size!
The motor is only 3w...

Yeah would love to see his take on the fantom, I'm a lining based artist that's had the fantom for a few weeks now and loving it so far.

@@timxx3580 It's as close to a pen as you can get without it physically being a pen just due to the shape of the machine/rc cord angle. A colleague guided me to use the fantom, I got the 4.2 stroke machine and does the job really well for me.
Haven't tried the Microangelo however the same colleague who told me about the Fantom had tried the Microangelo and wasn't a fan. Not 100% sure why.

Ainārs Olūtnieks My guess is because it’s newer than the Pen. Also there’s allot more people using the Hawk Pen now (myself included), so Cheyenne probably decided to bump the price up a little due to supply and demand.
it's not good ONLY for BnG , it's good machine for everything.
I am black and gray artist , and it is good for me.
I haven't tried colour so I cannot tell much about it, it could be one of the best machines out there to do colour. I don't know about it. It's also ok for lines and solid black for what I've done.
like I mention It's a new machine for me and it always takes some time to adjust to it. I'm sure lines can be done really fast and good. (other artist mentioned in comments that it could line even better then Pen, just need to bump up the power) I haven't tried that myself yet.
I wish one day we'll be able to work without noise at all!

Expensive crap…..Ultron 2 from Vlad Blad costs half of Sol Nova and is much better….Even Avenger 2 pro (costs even less than Ultron 2 )……..Sol Nova is just overrated expensive shading machin wich is simply not 1500€ worth…..At all
actually it's not - 1500 , but around - 837.39 euro. pretty much half price of what you're saying. But if it's not worth at all , you don't need to buy it.
and about which machine is better or not it's also your personal opinion. I'm sure there's thousands of artists who will disagree with you , and of course thousands who will agree.

( btw, read again…nobody said that it costs 1500€…1188 € are about 1470 Canadian dollars )

@@AnrijsStraumeTattoo I know that they are different ... Sol Nova 1 was the most expensive machine back in time, and new Sol Nova is most expensive now, so doesn't make any difference .... My opinion is that they are ( both ) overpriced.....
@@dudedude4034 Not really Wirless machines like - Fk irons Flux , Fk irons Exo , Inkjecta X1 and Bishop power wand - costs more than Sol nova unlimited - it's probably one of the cheapest (good quality and respectable brand) machines out there. Could be overprices yes, but I couldn't build better one myself for that $.
and if you compare it to For example - Ultron pen 2 , you still need to get rca cable, pedal , powersupply. all that together will add up and you still will not have wireless machine where all above is included. So the deal is not as bad as it might sound.
Just my personal experience and opinion.
