Attack a Realm, you're all good with ths Elder Gods. Try and Merge a Realm without winning a tournament, then you have a problem. That is one hell of a loophole Shao Khan found.
The only thing the Elder Gods cared about the whole time was preventing the One Being from becoming whole again. Thus, the realms had to remain separated. I bet that, even if somebody had been able to defeat every realm fairly in ten tournaments, with that last defending realm the Elder Gods would have been like, "Sorry, we changed the rules. You got to win twenty." And then once that is achieved they would have been like, "It's now thirty," and on and on.
Dude Raiden was the one who realised that invading a realm isnt against the rules but conquering a realm without participating in the Mortal Kombat tournament would be against the rules but he realised it when it was too late
This is why i love Mortal Kombat more than any other fighting game series, they easily could've slacked in the story department and focused only on the fighting but the fact that they went the extra mile and fabricated such a rich and coherent lore for this franchise demands respect! Netherrealm is amazing!

Is it only me or is anyone else happy the elder gods were killed. They spent all this time sitting on their butts doing nothing. Even when Cronica or Kronica ( not sure which spelling is correct lol) merged time they still didn't do anything. Instead they told Raiden to get her hour glass smh. They were even too blind to see that her daughter was about to betray them. Also of note the daughter was silly as hell too 😂

In MK9 Quan Chi and Shao Kahn are talking about that Sindel made a magical spell "Sindel's Ward" which prevented Shao Kahn from being able to enter Earthrealm. But if she was bad the whole time (and wanted Shao Kahn to conquer all the realms so that she could be their queen) then this makes no sense.
I guess the reason they didn't that is because kronica is way more powerful than eldergods and cetrion is also an elder god so they couldn't see what was her intention with her mother. And about sitting there doing nothing I think most of our leaders in the world do that while the one who fight the war are soldiers. It's their job to control things
You should do a video on Why Boon and The gang just can’t seem to get Shinnok right.. say what you will about About Shao Kahn getting beaten up in MK11, the dude has been known as THE MK big boss for years despite other characters who are stronger than him being introduced. Shinnok mostly, he’s everything Shao Kahn wants to be yet somehow he’s never written well enough to truly display the power of an “Evil” Elder God. He shows up runs a muck gets beaten and he’s never heard from again.. His underling Quan Chi has done way more than he has and they’re technically not even on the same level of power lore wise.. Would be dope to get an in-depth look on Shinnok’s “wasted potential” granted you’re not Fourth Snake lol.
Finally, someone who gets it. When I look at him, I see this spark of a very powerful villain, capable of surpassing even Shao Khan. "MK X" got close to turn that spark into a fire, but like the original timeline, it failed.
While shinnok could’ve been represented way better,he was always far more powerful than shao Kahn. So he was always superior to shao Kahn in power alone. It’s just shao Kahn’s popularity that has made the creators of mk kneel at him and trash Shinnok and Onaga. Even kronica who is worlds beyond anything shao Kahn can even comprehend wasn’t executed that well honestly and I like kronica. It’s obvious she’s just a minion to kronica and nothing more and yet shao Kahn due to his old days being the original big bad after Shang tsung he’s more we’ll liked in design. I didn't have that much of a problem with some of those. I actually loved the fact that kotal beat Shao Kahn because kotal is awesome and yeah Shao Khan is a badass but kotal it the man now so I'm glad they sent that message by having kotal definitively beat Shao Khan. As for jade beating kotal yeah that was kinda stupid but I'm willing to write that off as kotal being in love with jade and being torn over having to fight her which is why he loses. I can kinda justify it to myself that way. Kitana killing Shao Khan though? Yeah I can't really find a way to justify that. Kitana is a badass but Shao Khan is supposed to be one of the most powerful beings in the universe who isn't a God.
I guessed that the table of events would repeat themselves or be accelerated throughout the next installment, which was MK 11. Sure enough, I wasn’t confident in calling out another reboot because it felt too sudden and frankly the last thing anyone would expect but that’s what ended up happening. Now that I have a general feeling of what the alternate endings are from the tower ladders, I feel that the next big thing would be the return of Onaga in the 12th installment and possibly the reunification of the One Being in the 13th. This is just a shot in the dark but anything is possible at this point. Maybe we can get Fujin back in action along with Reiko.
Chronic_zero Kronos equivalents would be like the elder gods and Zeus and them would basically be like Raiden and the other elemental gods because titans like kronika who are concepts like nyx and that one who is the night are also personifications and concepts like kronika so they are basically first gen since chaos or the one being in this case is the source and after the first gen there’s the second like the elder gods basically Kronos and co and them there’s third gen like Zeus and hades, which in this case their mortal Lombardi equivalents would be Raiden and Fujin and other gods like August
It's also possible that the one being was actually a renegade titan that took all 6 of the elder gods to neutralise. Beings like Shao Kahn and Onaga, individual parts of the one being, trying to conquer the universe are the one beings attempts at becoming whole again. This is confirmed in MK Deception. Shinnok' s MKX ending also confirms that he wishes to awaken the one being despite not being a part of it. Kronika, Shinnok's mother, is seemingly only concerned with keeping the arc of the universe (all the realms) in a state of constant war so as to maintain balance among the realms. This constant state of interrealm war clearly goes against the one beings efforts at becoming whole. Therefore it's possible that Shinnok and the one being might both share the same objective of freeing themselves from Kronika's control so that they could take her and remaining titans in existance down and reign supreme.

Therefore, Kronika and the other titans might have seen the threat posed and decided to form an alliance. They would do this so as to formulate and carry out a plan to neutralize this monster and keep it under eternal control. Lest he/she/it destory them all. Kronika, and perhaps the other titans, would proceed by creating, possibly by mating, 6 or more children (elder gods) as well as special weapons (kamidogu) they would need to fight and defeat the omega titan. Kronika and her fellow titans likely wouldnt have taken on this monster themselves for fear that they might be defeated in the process. This would make alot of sense as titans are, according to Shang Tsung in his MK11 ending, fearful, vain and monstrous beings that can be defeated. Once the elder gods were victorious over the omega titan, these children of the titans would eternally monitor this defeated, split and controllable entity. The split one being!! The entity which ultimately becomes the realms!! As an extra control measure the titan Kronika would take up the mantle of keeper of time. As such she would forever craft the sands of time so as to keep the realms (the components of the one being/omega titan) at war and therefore eternally separated. Kronika would also reset and restart the timeline if things went outside of her control/vision. The other titans clearly have a keen interest in the goings-on within the realms. They even go so far as to intervene in certain events within. As outlined in Scorpion's MK11 ending, no matter how or how many times the keeper of time crafts the sands for certain events, these events will play out the same regardless of how the sands were crafted. Perhaps other titans agreed to help Kronika in her mission to control fate by invisibly extending their hand/influence into the realms and ensuring certain events envisioned by her always occur. This would make sense as Frost says in her ending that the hourglass has limits and that the keeper of time's vision can be upended by mortal dicision. Shang Tsung's ending suggests that collaboration between titans is possible as he says they are piled easily by appealing to their greed, vanity and fear.
Black Lock It’s possible that the One Being actually destroyed most of the Titans eventually being defeated by the offspring of the Titans, the Elder Gods. It was stated that the One Being fed on the essence of the Elder Gods, which started a war that lasted for a millennia. This insinuates that there where countless more Gods that existed than we initially believed, which could also mean the One Being was also consuming Titans as well before the Elder Gods where conceived. I thought that Kronika resetting time would bring the One Being back to completion since she also merged the realms as well.

Like the Greek Gods?? Uranus was the Titan of Universe, with Gaia his wife, both brought the other Titans into being, then Cronus the Titan of Time killed Uranus, n had kids with Gaia. Those kids killed Uranus n became the Olympians gods. Then those gods had other godling kids as well as demigods.
It could've happened when Taven beat Blaze in Konquest Mode while everyone else is fighting near the pyramid. Shao Khan gets carried away by Onaga, but kills the latter somehow and returns to find out that Taven had won. Shao Khan kills Taven and takes Blaze's power from him. This is how I'd put it just to make it logical between the end of Armageddon and the beginning of MK9...

I remember that Cetrion (an Elder God) stated in one of her intros that she is a child of the One Being (as are "all the gods"). She is also the child of Kronika. Jade in one of her MK11 intros that the One Being existed before all gods, including the Elder Gods. Does this mean that the One Being may be a Titan? Or did he exist before the Titans and created everything as the original lore implied in Kai's Armageddon ending?
They need to do rehiring with the storyline next game, PLEASE. The story could be much more in depth with so many possibilities - however this MK11 was sorely lackluster in any potential future plots that MK X left open. Time traveling/alteration always seems like a convenient cop out

Cool video, the only thing I noticed was during MK 4, The Elder Gods did get involved. Shinnok invaded the Heavens and waged war on the Elder Gods. It was the main plot of the game.

Yet most of previous MK games makes each characters's endings slightly canon to the next MK game, Like on Johnny Cage's ending in MK9 where he would become a warrior more powerful than ever and that proved in the start of MKX by defeating Shinnok, same goes for a few in MKX but as for MK11 about all who use's hourglass for good, neutral, evil or not using it, It's hard to think which is mostly canon... Makes me wonder if Liu Kang and Kitana who are the forges of time will witness their own past selves born with all the timeline going on, Yet i wonder if Kitana is still Empress of Outworld and not Kotal, If that's the case i wonder how Erron is going to manage his new job since i don't think he's gonna enjoy the peaceful life of Outworld that Kitana is about to create since Erron needs thrills.
I find it more likely the Titans are direct fragments of the One Being. Hence why Kronika reset the timeline in Armageddon. It also explains why most of the Elder God's are useless. They're just figure heads to try and prevent the waking on the one being.

There is a chance all the elder gods aren’t dead because in one of Cetrion’s intro she says Kronika’s death released her so it’s possible Cetrion will be the only elder god or choose to work alongside raiden now
Id like to see other Titans come into the picture and become the future big bads. Scorpion and Sub Zeros endings in particular are the direction id like to see the series continue with the idea that they are defending Earthrealm from the huge cosmic threats and less about the 1000th time Shao Khan was resurrected and tried to pull of essentially the exact same plan again.
I find this interesting I can’t wait to learn more about these titans in the next mk game but I am curious though how many demigods are there in total I’m only familiar with raiden, fujin, and rain.
We should see more titans and other timelines since they take a more active role and we should get newer elder gods who also take a more active role if they bring up the one being again then maybe he will need to be woken up and fight a titan or two and maybe we could get some neat DLC such as cithlulu they should also bring in some canceled fighters such as hydro, aqua, Lucifer we can only speculate until we see an MK12 trailer in 2022-23 can’t wait to see the first injustice3 trailer
Just three things: Raiden and the other demigods were not created by the Elder Gods, actually there's no clarification so far of his birth; also, Shinnok didn't attack Earthrealm to destroy what remained of the One Being. While this would be cool and twist the morality of the character depending of the point of view, as far as we know, Shinnok and Cetrion were dormant agents of Kronika, her ultimate goal is to keep both battling each other in a duel between good vs. evil, virtue vs. corruption, life vs. death. He attacked because he is Death itself. That's why without Shinnok Cetrion eventually changed morality, but she did know deep down she was wrong, as Liu Kang confronted her; Cetrion mentions in a mirror match "we are all children of the One Being". I kept this thought during years, and until it's confirmed to be the contrary, but I have the suspicion the One Being might be the unity of the creators of everything, even father to the Titans. So, if we compare with Greek mythology, he could be Uranus, or he could be even Kronos, being the most powerful Titan and his downfall were his own children. Maybe Kronika smashed some gigantic blue dildo before shaping sands lol

Shinnok has been rebooted not as someone who seeks ultimate power by itself, but ultimate power through death. I want MK12 to be all about the one being. More of a preventing the universe from merging on a reality scale. Bringing back old and new characters(all of them(like Tanya)). Basically a summary of mortal Kombat.

Theory. Kronikas perfect time line is meant to be one where One being doesn't wake up. Every failed time line would have ended in his return and maybe he would kill titans too.

I guessed that the table of events would repeat themselves or be accelerated throughout the next installment, which was MK 11. Sure enough, I wasn’t confident in calling out another reboot because it felt too sudden and frankly the last thing anyone would expect but that’s what ended up happening. Now that I have a general feeling of what the alternate endings are from the tower ladders, I feel that the next big thing would be the return of Onaga in the 12th installment and possibly the reunification of the One Being in the 13th. This is just a shot in the dark but anything is possible at this point. Maybe we can get Fujin back in action along with Reiko.
The one being is basically chaos from Greek mythology and the titans are basically like chaos firsts children like Nyx and Gaia

Chronic_zero Kronos equivalents would be like the elder gods and Zeus and them would basically be like Raiden and the other elemental gods because titans like kronika who are concepts like nyx and that one who is the night are also personifications and concepts like kronika so they are basically first gen since chaos or the one being in this case is the source and after the first gen there’s the second like the elder gods basically Kronos and co and them there’s third gen like Zeus and hades, which in this case their mortal Lombardi equivalents would be Raiden and Fujin and other gods like August
Chronic_zero and fourth gen would be Demi gods like Herc and Orion and their mk equivalents rain, Taven, Dagon and co
It's also possible that the one being was actually a renegade titan that took all 6 of the elder gods to neutralise. Beings like Shao Kahn and Onaga, individual parts of the one being, trying to conquer the universe are the one beings attempts at becoming whole again. This is confirmed in MK Deception. Shinnok' s MKX ending also confirms that he wishes to awaken the one being despite not being a part of it. Kronika, Shinnok's mother, is seemingly only concerned with keeping the arc of the universe (all the realms) in a state of constant war so as to maintain balance among the realms. This constant state of interrealm war clearly goes against the one beings efforts at becoming whole. Therefore it's possible that Shinnok and the one being might both share the same objective of freeing themselves from Kronika's control so that they could take her and remaining titans in existance down and reign supreme.

@@SupportGamin2025 Thanks, glad you think so. I forgot to mention also that perhaps the one being was the most powerful and dangerous of all the titans, an indestrutable omega titan! Therefore, Kronika and the other titans might have seen the threat posed and decided to form an alliance. They would do this so as to formulate and carry out a plan to neutralize this monster and keep it under eternal control. Lest he/she/it destory them all. Kronika, and perhaps the other titans, would proceed by creating, possibly by mating, 6 or more children (elder gods) as well as special weapons (kamidogu) they would need to fight and defeat the omega titan. Kronika and her fellow titans likely wouldnt have taken on this monster themselves for fear that they might be defeated in the process. This would make alot of sense as titans are, according to Shang Tsung in his MK11 ending, fearful, vain and monstrous beings that can be defeated. Once the elder gods were victorious over the omega titan, these children of the titans would eternally monitor this defeated, split and controllable entity. The split one being!! The entity which ultimately becomes the realms!! As an extra control measure the titan Kronika would take up the mantle of keeper of time. As such she would forever craft the sands of time so as to keep the realms (the components of the one being/omega titan) at war and therefore eternally separated. Kronika would also reset and restart the timeline if things went outside of her control/vision.
The other titans clearly have a keen interest in the goings-on within the realms. They even go so far as to intervene in certain events within. As outlined in Scorpion's MK11 ending, no matter how or how many times the keeper of time crafts the sands for certain events, these events will play out the same regardless of how the sands were crafted. Perhaps other titans agreed to help Kronika in her mission to control fate by invisibly extending their hand/influence into the realms and ensuring certain events envisioned by her always occur. This would make sense as Frost says in her ending that the hourglass has limits and that the keeper of time's vision can be upended by mortal dicision. Shang Tsung's ending suggests that collaboration between titans is possible as he says they are piled easily by appealing to their greed, vanity and fear.

It’s possible that the One Being actually destroyed most of the Titans eventually being defeated by the offspring of the Titans, the Elder Gods. It was stated that the One Being fed on the essence of the Elder Gods, which started a war that lasted for a millennia. This insinuates that there where countless more Gods that existed than we initially believed, which could also mean the One Being was also consuming Titans as well before the Elder Gods where conceived. I thought that Kronika resetting time would bring the One Being back to completion since she also merged the realms as well.

It could've happened when Taven beat Blaze in Konquest Mode while everyone else is fighting near the pyramid. Shao Khan gets carried away by Onaga, but kills the latter somehow and returns to find out that Taven had won. Shao Khan kills Taven and takes Blaze's power from him. This is how I'd put it just to make it logical between the end of Armageddon and the beginning of MK9...

I remember that Cetrion (an Elder God) stated in one of her intros that she is a child of the One Being (as are "all the gods"). She is also the child of Kronika. Jade in one of her MK11 intros that the One Being existed before all gods, including the Elder Gods. Does this mean that the One Being may be a Titan? Or did he exist before the Titans and created everything as the original lore implied in Kai's Armageddon ending?

I never really followed Mortal Kombat all that much growing up so this video really shook me. I didn’t know there was THAT much depth to the lore.

Yet most of previous MK games makes each characters's endings slightly canon to the next MK game, Like on Johnny Cage's ending in MK9 where he would become a warrior more powerful than ever and that proved in the start of MKX by defeating Shinnok, same goes for a few in MKX but as for MK11 about all who use's hourglass for good, neutral, evil or not using it, It's hard to think which is mostly canon...

I find it more likely the Titans are direct fragments of the One Being. Hence why Kronika reset the timeline in Armageddon. It also explains why most of the Elder God's are useless. They're just figure heads to try and prevent the waking on the one being.

Scorpion and Sub Zeros endings in particular are the direction id like to see the series continue with the idea that they are defending Earthrealm from the huge cosmic threats and less about the 1000th time Shao Khan was resurrected and tried to pull of essentially the exact same plan again.

Just three things: Raiden and the other demigods were not created by the Elder Gods, actually there's no clarification so far of his birth; also, Shinnok didn't attack Earthrealm to destroy what remained of the One Being. While this would be cool and twist the morality of the character depending of the point of view, as far as we know, Shinnok and Cetrion were dormant agents of Kronika, her ultimate goal is to keep both battling each other in a duel between good vs. evil, virtue vs. corruption, life vs. death. He attacked because he is Death itself. That's why without Shinnok Cetrion eventually changed morality, but she did know deep down she was wrong, as Liu Kang confronted her; Cetrion mentions in a mirror match "we are all children of the One Being". I kept this thought during years, and until it's confirmed to be the contrary, but I have the suspicion the One Being might be the unity of the creators of everything, even father to the Titans. So, if we compare with Greek mythology, he could be Uranus, or he could be even Kronos, being the most powerful Titan and his downfall were his own children. Maybe Kronika smashed some gigantic blue dildo before shaping sands lol

Shinnok has been rebooted not as someone who seeks ultimate power by itself, but ultimate power through death. The reveal that he and Cetrion battle in the shadows beyond the obvious opposition between both is his actual goal.
