Just wondering why do you like dr2 more than the first one. I thought two was a downgrade in everyway. Plus the twist ending honestly ruined the game for me
My top 5: 1. Blade Runner - Absolute classic, can't beat it. 2. Naked Lunch - Underrated Cronenberg film. It has an incredible atmosphere and the symbolism is so dense you could unpack the movie for hours. 3. Videodrome - Best classic Cronenberg film with an interesting concept. 4. Perfect Blue - My favourite of Satoshi Kon's works, the atmosphere and build up works so well and I love the twist. 5. Oldboy - Chaotic atmosphere with an intriguing plot and insane twists.
Here's the best I can muster with my limited gaming experience so far: 1) *Super Castlevania IV* (Something about it really clicked with me. I especially loved the music and visuals. I especially liked how it felt like you were going on a journey throughout the whole thing, and I think the environments here are slightly more interesting than SotN.) 2) *Super Metroid* (Another game with incredible music, visuals, and gameplay. Planet Zebes is always a place that will stick out in my mind. My biggest gripe is that wall-jumping sucks) 3) *Super Mario Odyssey* (Simply the act of moving around in this game is a blast. Collecting a whole bunch of Power Moons and switching game-styles with the simple toss of a hat is also fun) 4) *Castlevania: Symphony of the Night* (The game I most recently completed. It'll probably move up to #2 in a few years once I play it again. SCIV slighly trumps SotN in terms of level design, music, and sentimentality. Otherwise, SotN is incredible all around) 5) *Hollow Knight* (Would be higher if it wasn't insanely difficult at points, but has incredible presentation, cool abilities, and some of the best movement I've ever experienced in 2D) 6) *Super Mario 64 DS* (I grew up playing this game, so I definitely have a bias towards this game. I loved exploring all the weird areas and never felt bothered by the controls since I played it on 3DS) 7) *Breath of the Wild* (Open-world goodness. I loved how much freedom you had to do whatever the hell you wanted: how you could climb any mountain, travel to any corner of Hyrule, etc. Weapon durability dampens more of the fun than it should) 8) *Mega Man 2* (Favorite NES game. Great music, fun gameplay, and OP Metal Blades. I need to play more of this series) 9) *Pokémon Emerald* (The best Pokémon game IMO. I love exploring everything Hoenn has to offer, and it introduced some of my all-time favorite Pokémon) 10) *Pokémon HeartGold & SoulSilver* (Maybe the best presentation in a Pokémon game, but the level curve/grinding, and relative blandness of Kanto and Johto hold it back for me) 11) *Sonic Mania* (Not much to say, other than just how much fun it was. It's honestly my perfect Sonic game) 12) *Super Smash Bros. series* (All games have their merits, so I can't really pick one. I'm particularly nostalgic to Brawl and 3DS) 13) *Mario Kart DS* (I wish the newer games still had Mission Mode and custom emblems. Other than that, gameplay is the best in the series) 14) *DKC: Tropical Freeze* (A good game, I like this game far more than Returns. It's just missing that one small push that would've really blown me away while playing) 15) *Super Mario World* (My favorite 2D Mario. The older ones don't feel as good to control and the newer ones don't have the same vibe. I loved all the weird enemies, bosses, levels, etc. which modern 2D Mario sorta did away with) 16) *Pokémon Black and White 2* (I haven't finished it yet, but a great game so far. The Unova region is such a cool place to explore) 17) *Pokémon Black and White* (Slightly worse than BW2. Not a big fan of the limited Pokédex. The presentation is great though) 18) *Pokémon Platinum* (I'd like it a lot more if the game didn't feel so sluggish, but it's still plenty good. Standard Pokémon stuff) 19) *Super Mario 3D World* (3D Land, but better. The various power-ups are a blast, and every area is so much fun to romp through. It'll probably rise up on my list once the Switch port is out) 20) *Pokémon X and Y* (This game is quite flawed, but something about Kalos really appeals to me, so I can allow some grace. A Pokémon Z probably would've been in my Top 10) Honorable mentions go to Minecraft, LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga/Clone Wars, and Portal 2. They'd probably be on the list if I played them more often or spent more time playing them

I know I made a crazy list last time but there where games I thought of since. Zero Escape: Virtue’s Last Reward would make top 15. Dragon Quest 11 S would make top 25. Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers, Kirby’s Adventure, and CoD: Black Ops would make top 50. Edit: Rear Window is my favorite Hitchcock film.
(The bottom parts I struggled with, but I think I got my top 10 fairly well put together): 1. Undertale (Actually played it rather late; about 4 years after it was made, but it still captivated me with its story, music and great characters. I have multiple versions of Megalovania on my playlist.) 2. Super Mario Galaxy (My favorite Mario-game and technically the first Wii-game I ever played. Simply put, the atmosphere and especially the music made it so memorable. I still get chills from Gusty Garden and many other tracks from this game.) 3. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (My favorite Zelda-game. To be honest, I have properly only played BotW and OoT Remaster out of any Zelda-games, but BotW just has that great scale to it. With the sequel coming hopefully next year, I couldn't be more excited.) 4. Dragon Quest XI (Funnily enough, the reason why I got into this game was a Tockle-spirit in Smash Brothers Ultimate, which you got by either downloading the DQ XI demo or purchasing the full game. I downloaded the demo and didn't touch it at first. Then one day I desided to try it and soon, I had the full game and over 100 hours spent on it.) 5. Minecraft (A fairly new, but a classic game non the less. Minecraft has had an impact on me for most of my life in multiple ways, either playing the game itself or watching other people play it. Just a great game on both fronts.) 6. Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga (Not THE game that got me into Star Wars as a whole, but a childhood memory that I cherish.) 7. Final Fantasy VII (I got interested in this game after watching Vinny play the remake. For the longest time, I thought about buying the game, and just a week ago I got it on Switch. Has been a great journey so far.) 8. Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Ultimate (Brawl was the first Smash Bros. game that I owned and played for hundreds of hours at best. Then Ultimate comes around many years later and pulls me back to the Smash-fever. I couldn't separate these two, even though Ultimate is gameplay-wise a better game.) 9. Wii Sports (And the real first game I played on Wii. Probably not a surprise. It was fun to play on your own, or with friends and family.) 10. Tomodachi Life (Another game which I had been watching other people play for a long time before actually playing it myself. Having played it, I honestly enjoy watching others play it, rather than doing it myself. I guess my imagination just ain't that great.)
List are like yawning, they're contagious... 1. Blaster Master - NES Made me fall in love with game design. Nothing will ever beat this one for me. It's buggy and jank as hell, but it's my true love in video games. If you have Switch ONLINE, you can play it for Free. What the hell are you waiting for? 2. Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest - SNES While Blaster Master has very clear flaws, DKC2 I can't find flaws. It's perfect to me in my eyes, and ESPECIALLY ears. It'll come to NSO eventually... I can't wait. 3. Banjo-Kazooie - N64 Literally only under DKC2 because the 3D camera isn't perfect, and swimming is tough to get used to. Otherwise, perfect in level design, gameplay, music, art direction and most notably, SECRETS. Those cheat codes for Stop 'N' Swap were so legendary that no other video game since has had that level of mystery. Here's hopin for a remaster... 4. Killer Instinct - XBONE THE PERFECT FIGHTING GAME! All these stupid kids hating on it on launch solely because of the console missed out on the most passionate game I've ever seen. The dev team behind this shows SO MUCH LOVE for the fans it makes Sakurai look like an internet hater. The characters, stages and movesets fit so gracefully together you'd think this was planned for decades: yet, the base game was developed in under a year. What should've been a disaster bloomed into MASTERPIECE. Go watch MaximillionDood gush about this one, I can't do it justice. BONUS: They introduced rollback netcode for fighting games, Mick Gordon does the soundtrack, and the full version was on Steam sale for only $15! Nuff said. 5. Hollow Knight - PC My favorite Indie game because of how HUGE and DETAILED this world is making it feel like AAA. The movement is smoother than butter and the Paper Mario style badge system fits so well and encourages multiple playthroughs. I think the lore's a bit too moody, but sprinkles of goofy charm and cute art style really helps this game truly stand out. 6. Megaman 9 - Wiiware This game in particular started off my true obsession with Megaman and Retro games as a whole. MM4 may be my favorite in the NES hexology, but 9 's weapon choices and multiple difficulties makes all the difference. And the MUSIC my dudes, listen to Concreteman without bobbin' your head, or tappin' your foot, it's IMPOSSIBLE! 7. Metroid Prime - Wii So I choose the Trilogy version because I like the free aim, and it's flat out my favorite Metroid game. The OOZING atmosphere made my jaw drop, and I didn't even know jaw-dropping was real, just something in cartoons. Pacing may be a little tedious at the last third, and the bosses take hours, but they don't detract from how good this game is. 8. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate - Switch Obviously a Smash would be here. 64 is my childhood but I can't ignore the MASSIVE amount of characters in Ultimate (which aren't even DONE). Also Banjo made me CRY on camera! 9. Rayman Origins - Wii The closest thing to compete with DKC2, it's controls are PERFECT: EVERY platformer should use this game as an example for how to move a character. It just needs a bit more focus, but if we get a third entry, it could very well move to number 3 or 4. 10. Skullgirls - PC I'm an animator, and seeing a hand drawn animated game look this good is just instant love. Killer Instinct may have better character design and mechanics (Skullgirls doesn't have a robotic velociraptor or a giant golem) but I still have just enough room for this at number 10.
@@lepapanouwel4663 Level 5 made you abandon your tank to progress, using GAMEPLAY to invoke a sense of fear and vulnerability. That blew my damn mind when I first realized it. Going from "man I hate this level, it's so hard" to "man I LOVE this level, it's so hard" was such an important part of my life.

The production design Vin talks about in Repo Man wasn't even production design, it was actual products from Reaganomics. Cheap, usually government funded companies putting out cheap product with no branding

Considering how X2 is on there, I’m surprised Logan didn’t make it. It was my first X-Men movie outside of Deadpool 1, and it still captivated me with how grounded it is compared to other superhero movies, giving such grace to the characters’ despite being at their final movie, and Mangold’s direction. Also you need to watch Shrek 2 and it’s unironically a masterpiece

@@erc3338 They changed the ending that upended the entire point of the film, as well as a constant narration from Deckard that was supposed to be all film-noir-ish but really was just explaining the film out loud and removing any quiet moment. So yeah, pretty bad.

I have Banjo-Tooie at 6, this game is so under appreciated. People who complain about it fail to notice Rare literary predicted the open world future of the industry and was basically Mario Odyssey 20 years early.
@@MagnaLynx21 I understand the criticisms that it's too big and unfocused compared to the first, but I really do think it's just a really engrossing game too. It felt more like rare's take on a metroidvania than anything, and if the levels were maybe a little smaller or easier to traverse (especially Grunty Industries) then I think people would remember it more fondly. It's a shame that the first one, for how great it is, seems to overshadow Tooie.

Good lord these are insanely difficult to pick out: 1. Final Fantasy Tactics | It's the only video game that I love completely unconditionally. 2. Blood | I think it blows Duke Nukem 3D and Shadow Warrior out of the water as a build engine game, molten hot take I'm really sorry. Caleb is awesome. 3. Quake | Arguably a better overall experience compared to Doom 1 and 2. Trent Reznor's soundtrack is perfect. 4. Silent Hill 2 | Still cry like an absolute baby at the end after 6 playthroughs, and just a great world to explore. 5. The Ultimate Doom | Still a ton of fun, paved the way not just for FPS games but also the use of binary space partioning in real-time rendering. 6. Bloodborne | There are some things I like better about Dark Souls 1 but I think Bloodborne has the most complete experience from start to finish. 7. Demento (Haunting Ground) | Insanely underrated survival horror game, uses the male gaze in a way that genuinely gets under my skin. 8. Pathologic | Flawed to hell and back but nothing else is quite like it. Totally surreal but inviting experience, never gonna forget it. 9. Timesplitters 2 | I got into a fist fight with my cousin when we were 8 because I insisted that Gretel was a female character and he insisted that she was male. Great party game. 10. Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers | Easily in my top 5 RPG experiences, a great story and soundtrack bolstered by the real life connections you make along the way. 11. .flow | It feels weird putting an RPG Maker game in my list but it's an experience I come back to often, very strong atmosphere that appeals to the dormant somaphobic(?) side of me. 12. System Shock 2 | Banger soundtrack, lots of fun to explore the Von Braun. Surprisingly high replay value and incredibly easy to speedrun for casual players too. 13. Devil May Cry 3 | Best DMC soundtrack by a wide margin (if this is a hot take I formally apologize), I felt like 3 had the highest stakes and most genuinely exciting story too. 14. Ico | I know Shadow of the Colossus is usually the more popular pick but Ico's presentation makes for a really fun adventure. Great date game if you wanna play 2 player. 15. Resident Evil 2 Remake | I don't end up resonating with a lot of newer releases, so I was surprised by how much this game ended up stealing 3 months from my life. Deceptively high replay value. 16. Shadow of the Colossus | The colossi are amazing obviously but I've sunk thousands of hours into exploring the map with Agro. If you've never done it before, try to get all of the apples. 17. Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater | Not much to be said that hasn't already been said, but its ability to stand on its own as a great, contained, interactive spy thriller makes it the best MGS IMO. 18. Ion Fury | I want to say it's the 2nd best build engine game, absolutely massive soundtrack and Shelly kicks ass as a protagonist. 19. Duke Nukem 3D | One of the best weapon arsenals in FPS history, I hear the chaingun cannon sound in my dreams. 20. Metal Gear Survive | I don't know what the fuck to tell you except that this isn't a joke. 21. Nier Automata | 2nd Favorite character action game, with DMC3 as the 1st. Massive soundtrack drowned out by the wet clap of gigantic ass cheeks. 22. Persona 4 Golden | I very rarely go out of my way to 100% an RPG. Nanako and Dojima's social link stories had me in tears. 23. Doom 64 | Incredibly impressive reinterpretation of Doom's vibe. Genuinely unsettling and oppressive atmosphere that contends with Quake in terms of effectiveness. 24. F.E.A.R. | Just a fantastic FPS experience. Legendary gunplay and has some gems on its soundtrack. 25. Dark Souls | Immensly flawed in the final act, but still a lot of fun. First time playthrough was unforgettable.
Pink Floyd's The Wall movie is in desperate need of a proper HD restoration and Blu Ray release but I doubt Roger Waters would want to do that... It is not available anywhere except for the old DVDs which are outdated and lower quality (being DVDs and all...). Yeah it is not great as a movie, but it still has some great stuff in there and it doesn't deserve to be shut away to die and be lost to time :(

I don't watch very many movies, but I will say that the Lord of the Rings trilogy is an easy #1 (or Top 3) for me. They were my introduction to Middle Earth, and I still watch them from time to time. They're just fantastic. Great lists all-around, Vinny.
Was pleasantly surprised to see Quake in the top 50. Very good Lovecraftian feel combined with very tight FPS mechanics. Kind of a shame it gets overshadowed by Doom so much

You haven't seen Apocalypse Now? You should definitely see it, it's great and I think you would like it! I would VERY highly recommend the 4K edition, it looks *incredible*! (though yeah, no shame for not having seen this or that classic movie, everyone's film journey is different and even though I'm a huge film buff there are still plenty of classic films that I have not seen yet!)
Oh, and for Hitchcock, a 4K set just came out with Psycho (uncut for the first time), Vertigo, Rear Window, and The Birds. I'm going to watch Rear Window tonight and see how it looks, but I have high hopes though I wish it also included North By Northwest.
Coming back to this im still kinda shocked Hollow Knight wasn't on the list and the length was the problem. I thought he loved it and was like the best Metroidvania he had played in a long time and praised the price to length/content if anything, I don't know if the effect of streaming soured him on it or something with chat bickering at him or what which would be sad, but the high praise made me think it'd be there. Arguing against someone's opinion is dumb but I guess I was just confused to hear him almost dismiss it so hard like he was sick of it.

Since other people are doing it, I might as well. Thinking of my top movies would take too long, but games... I don’t play a lot of games, and there’s a lot I’ve started but haven’t finished yet, but as of now, here they are: 10: Simulacra (shit acting, but very cool concept, decent small horror game, left a good impact on me) 9: Wii Sports Resort (timeless classic. This and mkds were probably the games I played most as a kid) 8: Mario Kart DS (just the best Mario Kart game, and lots of nostalgia) 7: Super Mario World (somehow, I only started playing this recently. But so much better than the nsmb. Plus that soundtrack!) 6: Doki Doki Literature Club (this took me by surprise. what the fuck. very good.) 5: Sally Face (technically not finished it yet, gameplay is pretty rudimentary but I’m really loving the story and the aesthetic) 4: Super Smash Bros Ultimate (smash bros is always fun, and this is the best one) 3: Minecraft (hell ye. obviously. so much nostalgia, endless possibility.) 2: Undertale (fucking terrible fandom, but I only played it after all that died down. And holy shit, probably my favorite story, and favorite characters in any game, amazing soundtrack. But still can’t beat Portal 2) 1: Portal 2 (all time favorite. Story is great, dark comedy is hilarious, gameplay is never boring, and holy shit, the soundtrack and the visuals, are So Good. Top 5 Movies, not in order: 1) Lotr, all of it lol 2) Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire 3) Fifth Element 4) Thor Ragnarok 5) Howl’s Moving Castle Top 5 Games, in order: 1) Kingdom Hearts 2 (vanilla and fm) 2) NieR Automata 3) Yakuza Kiwami 4) Resident Evil 2 Remake 5) Final Fantasy VII The movies I chose mostly out of nostalgia, since these are all movies my parents introduced me to when I was younger- besides Ragnarok. Thor Ragnarok just slaps so hard and I’m so glad Waititi worked on it. As for games, I’m opposite of Vinny. I really really enjoy jrpgs, especially hack n slash types like KH and Automata. KH2 was my very first video game, so it is very near and dear to me, and the gameplay is super addicting. As for Automata, it was something I played when I was at a super low point at life and I love all the philisophical shit it throws at you. I played both Kiwami and 2 Remake basically at the same time, both really fun. I love the Majima system in Kiwami. I actually have to replay FFVII properly, but it’s a game my mom got me into and so it’s very important to me. Katana Zero should be on this list too, since I was literally obsessed with it for months, but uhhhhhhhhhh it’s definitely not a top five, maybe a 7 perhaps.

1. Blade Runner - Absolute classic, can't beat it.
2. Naked Lunch - Underrated Cronenberg film. It has an incredible atmosphere and the symbolism is so dense you could unpack the movie for hours.
3. Videodrome - Best classic Cronenberg film with an interesting concept.
4. Perfect Blue - My favourite of Satoshi Kon's works, the atmosphere and build up works so well and I love the twist.
5. Oldboy - Chaotic atmosphere with an intriguing plot and insane twists.

Here's the best I can muster with my limited gaming experience so far:
1) *Super Castlevania IV* (Something about it really clicked with me. I especially loved the music and visuals. I especially liked how it felt like you were going on a journey throughout the whole thing, and I think the environments here are slightly more interesting than SotN.)
2) *Super Metroid* (Another game with incredible music, visuals, and gameplay. Planet Zebes is always a place that will stick out in my mind. My biggest gripe is that wall-jumping sucks)
3) *Super Mario Odyssey* (Simply the act of moving around in this game is a blast. Collecting a whole bunch of Power Moons and switching game-styles with the simple toss of a hat is also fun)
4) *Castlevania: Symphony of the Night* (The game I most recently completed. It'll probably move up to #2 in a few years once I play it again. SCIV slighly trumps SotN in terms of level design, music, and sentimentality. Otherwise, SotN is incredible all around)
5) *Hollow Knight* (Would be higher if it wasn't insanely difficult at points, but has incredible presentation, cool abilities, and some of the best movement I've ever experienced in 2D)
6) *Super Mario 64 DS* (I grew up playing this game, so I definitely have a bias towards this game. I loved exploring all the weird areas and never felt bothered by the controls since I played it on 3DS)
7) *Breath of the Wild* (Open-world goodness. I loved how much freedom you had to do whatever the hell you wanted: how you could climb any mountain, travel to any corner of Hyrule, etc. Weapon durability dampens more of the fun than it should)
8) *Mega Man 2* (Favorite NES game. Great music, fun gameplay, and OP Metal Blades. I need to play more of this series)
9) *Pokémon Emerald* (The best Pokémon game IMO. I love exploring everything Hoenn has to offer, and it introduced some of my all-time favorite Pokémon)

11) *Sonic Mania* (Not much to say, other than just how much fun it was. It's honestly my perfect Sonic game)
12) *Super Smash Bros. series* (All games have their merits, so I can't really pick one. I'm particularly nostalgic to Brawl and 3DS)
13) *Mario Kart DS* (I wish the newer games still had Mission Mode and custom emblems. Other than that, gameplay is the best in the series)
14) *DKC: Tropical Freeze* (A good game, I like this game far more than Returns. It's just missing that one small push that would've really blown me away while playing)
15) *Super Mario World* (My favorite 2D Mario. The older ones don't feel as good to control and the newer ones don't have the same vibe. I loved all the weird enemies, bosses, levels, etc. which modern 2D Mario sorta did away with)
16) *Pokémon Black and White 2* (I haven't finished it yet, but a great game so far. The Unova region is such a cool place to explore)
17) *Pokémon Black and White* (Slightly worse than BW2. Not a big fan of the limited Pokédex. The presentation is great though)
18) *Pokémon Platinum* (I'd like it a lot more if the game didn't feel so sluggish, but it's still plenty good. Standard Pokémon stuff)
19) *Super Mario 3D World* (3D Land, but better. The various power-ups are a blast, and every area is so much fun to romp through. It'll probably rise up on my list once the Switch port is out)
20) *Pokémon X and Y* (This game is quite flawed, but something about Kalos really appeals to me, so I can allow some grace. A Pokémon Z probably would've been in my Top 10)

(The bottom parts I struggled with, but I think I got my top 10 fairly well put together):
1. Undertale (Actually played it rather late; about 4 years after it was made, but it still captivated me with its story, music and great characters. I have multiple versions of Megalovania on my playlist.)
2. Super Mario Galaxy (My favorite Mario-game and technically the first Wii-game I ever played. Simply put, the atmosphere and especially the music made it so memorable. I still get chills from Gusty Garden and many other tracks from this game.)
3. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (My favorite Zelda-game. To be honest, I have properly only played BotW and OoT Remaster out of any Zelda-games, but BotW just has that great scale to it. With the sequel coming hopefully next year, I couldn't be more excited.)
4. Dragon Quest XI (Funnily enough, the reason why I got into this game was a Tockle-spirit in Smash Brothers Ultimate, which you got by either downloading the DQ XI demo or purchasing the full game. I downloaded the demo and didn't touch it at first. Then one day I desided to try it and soon, I had the full game and over 100 hours spent on it.)
5. Minecraft (A fairly new, but a classic game non the less. Minecraft has had an impact on me for most of my life in multiple ways, either playing the game itself or watching other people play it. Just a great game on both fronts.)
6. Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga (Not THE game that got me into Star Wars as a whole, but a childhood memory that I cherish.)
7. Final Fantasy VII (I got interested in this game after watching Vinny play the remake. For the longest time, I thought about buying the game, and just a week ago I got it on Switch. Has been a great journey so far.)
8. Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Ultimate (Brawl was the first Smash Bros. game that I owned and played for hundreds of hours at best. Then Ultimate comes around many years later and pulls me back to the Smash-fever. I couldn't separate these two, even though Ultimate is gameplay-wise a better game.)
9. Wii Sports (And the real first game I played on Wii. Probably not a surprise. It was fun to play on your own, or with friends and family.)
10. Tomodachi Life (Another game which I had been watching other people play for a long time before actually playing it myself. Having played it, I honestly enjoy watching others play it, rather than doing it myself. I guess my imagination just ain't that great.)

Made me fall in love with game design. Nothing will ever beat this one for me. It's buggy and jank as hell, but it's my true love in video games. If you have Switch ONLINE, you can play it for Free. What the hell are you waiting for?
2. Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest - SNES
While Blaster Master has very clear flaws, DKC2 I can't find flaws. It's perfect to me in my eyes, and ESPECIALLY ears. It'll come to NSO eventually... I can't wait.
3. Banjo-Kazooie - N64
Literally only under DKC2 because the 3D camera isn't perfect, and swimming is tough to get used to. Otherwise, perfect in level design, gameplay, music, art direction and most notably, SECRETS. Those cheat codes for Stop 'N' Swap were so legendary that no other video game since has had that level of mystery. Here's hopin for a remaster...
4. Killer Instinct - XBONE
THE PERFECT FIGHTING GAME! All these stupid kids hating on it on launch solely because of the console missed out on the most passionate game I've ever seen. The dev team behind this shows SO MUCH LOVE for the fans it makes Sakurai look like an internet hater. The characters, stages and movesets fit so gracefully together you'd think this was planned for decades: yet, the base game was developed in under a year. What should've been a disaster bloomed into MASTERPIECE. Go watch MaximillionDood gush about this one, I can't do it justice.
BONUS: They introduced rollback netcode for fighting games, Mick Gordon does the soundtrack, and the full version was on Steam sale for only $15! Nuff said.
5. Hollow Knight - PC
My favorite Indie game because of how HUGE and DETAILED this world is making it feel like AAA. The movement is smoother than butter and the Paper Mario style badge system fits so well and encourages multiple playthroughs. I think the lore's a bit too moody, but sprinkles of goofy charm and cute art style really helps this game truly stand out.
6. Megaman 9 - Wiiware
This game in particular started off my true obsession with Megaman and Retro games as a whole. MM4 may be my favorite in the NES hexology, but 9 's weapon choices and multiple difficulties makes all the difference. And the MUSIC my dudes, listen to Concreteman without bobbin' your head, or tappin' your foot, it's IMPOSSIBLE!
7. Metroid Prime - Wii
So I choose the Trilogy version because I like the free aim, and it's flat out my favorite Metroid game. The OOZING atmosphere made my jaw drop, and I didn't even know jaw-dropping was real, just something in cartoons. Pacing may be a little tedious at the last third, and the bosses take hours, but they don't detract from how good this game is.
8. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate - Switch
Obviously a Smash would be here. 64 is my childhood but I can't ignore the MASSIVE amount of characters in Ultimate (which aren't even DONE). Also Banjo made me CRY on camera!
9. Rayman Origins - Wii
The closest thing to compete with DKC2, it's controls are PERFECT: EVERY platformer should use this game as an example for how to move a character. It just needs a bit more focus, but if we get a third entry, it could very well move to number 3 or 4.
10. Skullgirls - PC
I'm an animator, and seeing a hand drawn animated game look this good is just instant love. Killer Instinct may have better character design and mechanics (Skullgirls doesn't have a robotic velociraptor or a giant golem) but I still have just enough room for this at number 10.
I mean level design wise Blaster master really isnt an example lol, the remake tho, fucking awesome

The production design Vin talks about in Repo Man wasn't even production design, it was actual products from Reaganomics. Cheap, usually government funded companies putting out cheap product with no branding
I have no clue why I love Alien so much. The movie is older than I am, if you stopped counting after you reach the year I was born, but I still LOVE it to death!
Considering how X2 is on there, I’m surprised Logan didn’t make it. It was my first X-Men movie outside of Deadpool 1, and it still captivated me with how grounded it is compared to other superhero movies, giving such grace to the characters’ despite being at their final movie, and Mangold’s direction.
Also you need to watch Shrek 2 and it’s unironically a masterpiece

I have Banjo-Tooie at 6, this game is so under appreciated. People who complain about it fail to notice Rare literary predicted the open world future of the industry and was basically Mario Odyssey 20 years early.
@@MagnaLynx21 I understand the criticisms that it's too big and unfocused compared to the first, but I really do think it's just a really engrossing game too. It felt more like rare's take on a metroidvania than anything, and if the levels were maybe a little smaller or easier to traverse (especially Grunty Industries) then I think people would remember it more fondly. It's a shame that the first one, for how great it is, seems to overshadow Tooie.

Good lord these are insanely difficult to pick out:
1. Final Fantasy Tactics | It's the only video game that I love completely unconditionally.
2. Blood | I think it blows Duke Nukem 3D and Shadow Warrior out of the water as a build engine game, molten hot take I'm really sorry. Caleb is awesome.
3. Quake | Arguably a better overall experience compared to Doom 1 and 2. Trent Reznor's soundtrack is perfect.
4. Silent Hill 2 | Still cry like an absolute baby at the end after 6 playthroughs, and just a great world to explore.
5. The Ultimate Doom | Still a ton of fun, paved the way not just for FPS games but also the use of binary space partioning in real-time rendering.
6. Bloodborne | There are some things I like better about Dark Souls 1 but I think Bloodborne has the most complete experience from start to finish.
7. Demento (Haunting Ground) | Insanely underrated survival horror game, uses the male gaze in a way that genuinely gets under my skin.
8. Pathologic | Flawed to hell and back but nothing else is quite like it. Totally surreal but inviting experience, never gonna forget it.
9. Timesplitters 2 | I got into a fist fight with my cousin when we were 8 because I insisted that Gretel was a female character and he insisted that she was male. Great party game.
10. Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers | Easily in my top 5 RPG experiences, a great story and soundtrack bolstered by the real life connections you make along the way.
11. .flow | It feels weird putting an RPG Maker game in my list but it's an experience I come back to often, very strong atmosphere that appeals to the dormant somaphobic(?) side of me.
12. System Shock 2 | Banger soundtrack, lots of fun to explore the Von Braun. Surprisingly high replay value and incredibly easy to speedrun for casual players too.
13. Devil May Cry 3 | Best DMC soundtrack by a wide margin (if this is a hot take I formally apologize), I felt like 3 had the highest stakes and most genuinely exciting story too.
14. Ico | I know Shadow of the Colossus is usually the more popular pick but Ico's presentation makes for a really fun adventure. Great date game if you wanna play 2 player.
15. Resident Evil 2 Remake | I don't end up resonating with a lot of newer releases, so I was surprised by how much this game ended up stealing 3 months from my life. Deceptively high replay value.
16. Shadow of the Colossus | The colossi are amazing obviously but I've sunk thousands of hours into exploring the map with Agro. If you've never done it before, try to get all of the apples.
17. Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater | Not much to be said that hasn't already been said, but its ability to stand on its own as a great, contained, interactive spy thriller makes it the best MGS IMO.
18. Ion Fury | I want to say it's the 2nd best build engine game, absolutely massive soundtrack and Shelly kicks ass as a protagonist.
19. Duke Nukem 3D | One of the best weapon arsenals in FPS history, I hear the chaingun cannon sound in my dreams.
20. Metal Gear Survive | I don't know what the fuck to tell you except that this isn't a joke.
21. Nier Automata | 2nd Favorite character action game, with DMC3 as the 1st. Massive soundtrack drowned out by the wet clap of gigantic ass cheeks.
22. Persona 4 Golden | I very rarely go out of my way to 100% an RPG. Nanako and Dojima's social link stories had me in tears.
23. Doom 64 | Incredibly impressive reinterpretation of Doom's vibe. Genuinely unsettling and oppressive atmosphere that contends with Quake in terms of effectiveness.
24. F.E.A.R. | Just a fantastic FPS experience. Legendary gunplay and has some gems on its soundtrack.
25. Dark Souls | Immensly flawed in the final act, but still a lot of fun. First time playthrough was unforgettable.
Pink Floyd's The Wall movie is in desperate need of a proper HD restoration and Blu Ray release but I doubt Roger Waters would want to do that... It is not available anywhere except for the old DVDs which are outdated and lower quality (being DVDs and all...). Yeah it is not great as a movie, but it still has some great stuff in there and it doesn't deserve to be shut away to die and be lost to time :(

I don't watch very many movies, but I will say that the Lord of the Rings trilogy is an easy #1 (or Top 3) for me. They were my introduction to Middle Earth, and I still watch them from time to time. They're just fantastic. Great lists all-around, Vinny.

You haven't seen Apocalypse Now? You should definitely see it, it's great and I think you would like it! I would VERY highly recommend the 4K edition, it looks *incredible*! (though yeah, no shame for not having seen this or that classic movie, everyone's film journey is different and even though I'm a huge film buff there are still plenty of classic films that I have not seen yet!)
Oh, and for Hitchcock, a 4K set just came out with Psycho (uncut for the first time), Vertigo, Rear Window, and The Birds. I'm going to watch Rear Window tonight and see how it looks, but I have high hopes though I wish it also included North By Northwest.
Oldboy and Men in Black are both comic book movies btw, so X-Men 2 isn't the highest comic book movie.
Coming back to this im still kinda shocked Hollow Knight wasn't on the list and the length was the problem. I thought he loved it and was like the best Metroidvania he had played in a long time and praised the price to length/content if anything, I don't know if the effect of streaming soured him on it or something with chat bickering at him or what which would be sad, but the high praise made me think it'd be there. Arguing against someone's opinion is dumb but I guess I was just confused to hear him almost dismiss it so hard like he was sick of it.

The movies I chose mostly out of nostalgia, since these are all movies my parents introduced me to when I was younger- besides Ragnarok. Thor Ragnarok just slaps so hard and I’m so glad Waititi worked on it.
As for games, I’m opposite of Vinny. I really really enjoy jrpgs, especially hack n slash types like KH and Automata. KH2 was my very first video game, so it is very near and dear to me, and the gameplay is super addicting. As for Automata, it was something I played when I was at a super low point at life and I love all the philisophical shit it throws at you. I played both Kiwami and 2 Remake basically at the same time, both really fun. I love the Majima system in Kiwami. I actually have to replay FFVII properly, but it’s a game my mom got me into and so it’s very important to me.
Katana Zero should be on this list too, since I was literally obsessed with it for months, but uhhhhhhhhhh it’s definitely not a top five, maybe a 7 perhaps.
