Use? Most fireflies are poisonous to frogs a few suggestions I can think of: 1.Early-ish version of lantern (bottling fireflies) 2.Basically an Optifine torch in vanilla (it lights up without placing but doesnt provide a light level, kinda like night vision except in a small area with an orange fade) 3.Or ambience for the mangroves and swamps. 4.Or it could be a substitute for glow ink. 5.Possibly a new torch type able to go underwater? ( or temporary torches that require the glowing drop of fireflies substitute) Again these are just suggestions.

Mangrove now replaces my previous #1 favorite wood type, dark oak.
The best is the chestboat, the rest is negligible. In the beginning I thought there would be more useful mobs in every biome. Calling this a wild update is rather misleading.😕

The 1.19 update is actually one of the most disappointing updates in my opinion. There, I said it. People might say "ooh the ancient city and deep dark and the warden are already a HUGE thing added to Minecraft." But they've all forgotten that the deep dark was supposed to be in 1.18 (correction: 1.17!!!) so can we really even count it as a 1.19 feature? Also the update isn't small, I know. Tons of new items, mechanics, mobs, are already amazing. But, the problem is the title of the update. For an update named "The Wild Update" getting just a single new overworld biome and getting a cave biome that was supposed to be in the last update, is absolutely disappointing. For an update with that title, I'd expect at least like 5 new biomes, complete overhaul of some of the existing and perhaps empty/boring biomes, adding biome related textures to mobs maybe, adding new biome-specific structures to the overworld or at least changing the current ones (like jungle temple, outposts, desert temples, etc.) but they didn't even bother specifying a new wood type to azalea or even giving us the promised fireflies and birch forests (which might either come late or never come). I understand it's difficult to do all those, but it's possible. We know it's possible because there are tons of mod makers who've already done it, and some of them are amazing and all polished. I'd rather Mojang took their time and gave The Wild Update in maybe 2-3 years from now, but they'd do it properly. I still think The End should've been a MUCH HIGHER priority. This way they'd give something everyone's been asking for for ages, and they'd take their time for the wild update as well and give a better one. Edit: It just got announced, birch forests and fireflies won't be in this update. Further proving my point!! They called it "The Wild Update" and added one biome that is only a variant of an already existing biome :)

I'm excited about these three things in order, the rest not as much: 1. Mangrove wood 2. Frogs/Frog lights 3. Chestboats Honorable mention: Mud and all it's variants.
I was kind of disappointed when they showed it off last year. Then again, anything coming AFTER 1.17/1.18 was bound to be up against some pretty stiff competition.
@@rosyasia5969 yeah, 1.19 doesn't really bring life to its title like the other updates. For example the village and pillage update actually made the villagers more alive, more useful, with other features on the way.

Besides, they promised to update swamps, but mangrove swamps are a compleately new biome. Mojang needs to stop showing things they won't add (fireflies and birch forest) and they need to clear the MASSIVE backlog of promised content
I think they should do big updates like every 2 years instead of every year so they have more time to flesh them out and add all the features they originally promised.
Wattles: "The Allay can be found trapped imprisoned in Pillager Outposts and Woodland Mansions" Me: "So the Vex REALLY WAS the product of grotesque arcane Illager experiments on the Allay."
I’m very excited for the Warden bc I want something scary in caves when I mine and it will add something interesting while going mining. I just can’t wait
Well, My Favorite Features Of The Wild Update Are Mangrove Swamp And The Allay. But For My Friend's Opinion, His Favorite Feature Of 1.19 is The Ancient City (He Likes Horror Stuff As Well) And His Most Hated Feature In 1.19 is The Allay, Cuz It Doesn't Dance.
7:48 I love that shot right there And the fact that you can only see the skulk sensors when having the darkness effect 8:50 Chestboat is literally one of those backpacks with the electric skateboard in it lol
tbh this update shouldn't be called "The Wild Update" it sounds like something really big and exciting except all we got was an already nearly finished ancient city, warden, and a mangrove swamp. Not even 2 pixel fireflies. They should change it to something like "The Dark Update" because "The Wild Update" sounds very grand and exciting (like I said) so they should preserve it to when they update all/most of the overworld biomes (Plains, oak forest, birch forest, spruce forest, dark wood forest) and maybe add in those flower cacti and add the cactus branches and Meerkats and stuff. This update is basically caves and cliffs + a biome and 2 mobs.
The warden is the #1 mob chosen out of any other mob. Players are finding ways to kill the warden, also, to stay safe when fighting it. Weapon to use; fully enchanted bow. It takes 20-25 shots (Full charge).
Hell I want the 4th Dimension while Minecraft have said its not ruled out they did say there was more stuff they wanted to Polish and clean up before thinking about it which makes sense they have put a ton of work into the biomes the game i started playing way way way back in August 2011 is a completely different game
Am I the only one that thought a fully grown propagule would fall from the mangrove tree and grow into a new mangrove? Basically you would be able to make a natural forest without having to plant the trees yourself. Although I imagine that would get kinda messy.
The funny thing is, back in Minecraft Alpha, I thought it was a tree-spreading mechanic, as you'd always find oak saplings just laying around in newly generated chunks.
I love the new mud building blocks and mangrove wood type! But I do think they should have made the Wild update more about adding animals to the overworld and maybe better ambiance, trees, more plants, mushrooms and flowers and perhaps updating more biomes that are currently a bit boring to travel through. Instead of making it about a 1.17 feature that was postponed and adding one new biome. And then postponing a few things again that were showed off for this update.
This is so far a very disappointing update. They haven’t added anything to improve ambience and atmosphere like they said they would at Minecraft live. This should just be called caves and cliffs part 3.
The No. 5 disc runs for three minutes with a man traveling through a tunnel or cavern. He sounds injured and out of breath as you can hear him cough and staggering a few blocks. It also cuts to a sort of melancholoy music at least once and near silence the second time. You then hear blocks breaking to the sound of a sculk sensor and lastly, the angry roar of the Warden
Unpopular opinion: mojang should remove the old swamps. The point of the wild update was to REVAMP existing biomes…. So far they have updated - as of 8th of May - 0 ^tm Edit: MUD PILLARS
They should keep old swamp but -add mud to them -change their colors to that of mangrove's. Regular swamp has very dark green color of leaves and digusting grey water while mangrove has cyan water and yellowish leaves
What I'm looking forward to the most is exploring the Deep Dark. :) I seriously hope The Warden gets EVEN MORE POWERFUL AND TANKY WITH MORE ATTRIBUTES. :)
“This quick & concise video” -he says as he’s half way through his 30sec intro…most people aren’t even going to make it through that before clicking off bro.
Sculk sensors make good lamp tops. Every step you take lights it up. I like to put them on end rods for a creative new lamp. The new chest boat is cool but if you try to put a lead on anything while sitting in a chest boat, the lead keeps breaking. It's very annoying.
I'd like to be the Positive reinforcement here to say that this Update is definitely a major update. It may seem a bit underwhelming, as it didn't quite hit the nail on the head with the idea of "An update that enhances scenery", but it's still a great update! 2 new biomes, a huge new structure, lots of unique loot for saving items upon death, building, collecting new collectors items and more, 4 new mobs, a new wood set and brick set, a new tree, lots of unique extra blocks, and tons of other new features-! So I'd say it's gonna be a big update.

1.19 the why bother update. Allays are gonna despawn randomly with those coveted items, if you can find an allay. Mangrove is just redder Jungle wood. The frog lights aren’t worth the effort to farm frogs to drag them to a bastion to set up a magma spawner farm. The deep dark has an enchantment only useful for going to the deep dark and the warden is an end game boss in an end game area without end game loot. After the caves and clusterfuck update comes this nonsense. They couldn’t be bothered to add some useful stuff like a hopper crafted from iron and copper that moves items through faster. But you’ll get a goat horn that just makes noise, for absolutely no purpose or reason or effect upon the game. 🤷🏻♂️
I agree with you to an extent. Frog lights are worth the effort but that’s only if you already have a Magma cream farm. If your just starting a new world or you haven’t built a Magma cream farm then it would not be worth the effort. So it really depends on what stage of progress your world is currently in. That all said it is equally as functional as glow stone torch’s and so on. This makes it so only those who really want the frog lights will farm them. As for the Mangrove wood you could say all woods are just retextured oak wood. Yet most of the community wants and keeps asking for new types of wood, for that reason I see that argument as a poorly made one. I do agree with the deep dark not having enough good loot. Currently it’s only good for getting the new enchantment, the new music disc, and the sculk blocks. That said if they added a new weapon or a new piece of armor or something like that it would fix the deep darks loot problem.
@@marshalllee6376 Um no the max attack efficiency goes significantly above what’s currently possible in survival minecraft. That said the way I would deal with the weapons is simply by making them do one to two more attack damage then the current weapons. Other things I would do to fix the problem is giving the weapons a few special enchantments or a special ability that makes it highly desirable and so on. That said the defense efficiency is a different story. This because the only two things you can do is make the armor have knockback resistance or have it somehow give you a speed buff. If the game ever gets to a point where that doesn’t work then I would imagine the devs would remake the current combat system. Which is kinda funny because that’s one of the things Mojang are currently working on for a future update.
I'm SO excited for mud bricks!!! My current survival base is inspired by Mespelbrunn Castle in Germany, and the color of the mud brick matches it exactly. Currently, I've been using brown terracotta, but it just doesn't hit the same...
I've just always wanted an update where you can have your own dragon by hatching the egg you get after beating the ender dragon. Saddles can be used to ride the dragons. That would be great
I don’t know if I believe it, buuut apparently there is a way to prevent the Warden from attacking you. You can become friends with the Warden by adding the username “Warden” to your Xbox Live friends list before the update comes out supposedly. Worth a shot I guess. Happy crafting ❤️
Why are there no bogs in the swamp? Would be nice if we had something similar in mechanics to how the 'snowier snow' works in the snow biomes? Maybe something that makes it difficult to move without the freeze effects or replaces the freeze damage with poison?

I think they should do big updates like every 2 years instead of every year so they have more time to flesh them out and add all the features they originally promised.
I search "wild update" and this video was not in the top 10. That's a crime. I'm liking and commenting to drive this up. Lord's work, you're doing it.
Packed mud and mud bricks will finally let me make natural paths that don't have wood planks in them. Best addition imo
I am most exited for the mangrove tree`s & the frog`s !!! I can`t what for the wild to be unleashed .
This shows how small the wild update is. If it was caves and cliffs, it would take 30min.
More
It’s not small, it’s just not ginormous like C&C.
I'm a cave dweller so naturally, the ancient cities got me hella hyped
My favourite thing is either the allay or the warden and or the frogs
Wattles: "The Allay can be found trapped imprisoned in Pillager Outposts and Woodland Mansions"
Me: "So the Vex REALLY WAS the product of grotesque arcane Illager experiments on the Allay."
I’m very excited for the Warden bc I want something scary in caves when I mine and it will add something interesting while going mining. I just can’t wait
single most thing im excited for is what is gonna be added on june 7th, that hasn't yet been in snapshots! second to that, is the 2 new biomes
Well, My Favorite Features Of The Wild Update Are Mangrove Swamp And The Allay. But For My Friend's Opinion, His Favorite Feature Of 1.19 is The Ancient City (He Likes Horror Stuff As Well) And His Most Hated Feature In 1.19 is The Allay, Cuz It Doesn't Dance.
weve forgot about dancing allays !! nooo
someone must tell mojang !
people who capitalize all their words scare me
@@aceofbases Oh sorry man. I'm used to it.
Basically all the update,.
7:48 I love that shot right there
And the fact that you can only see the skulk sensors when having the darkness effect
8:50 Chestboat is literally one of those backpacks with the electric skateboard in it lol
Definitely most excited for the fireflies🔥
tbh this update shouldn't be called "The Wild Update" it sounds like something really big and exciting except all we got was an already nearly finished ancient city, warden, and a mangrove swamp.
What are you doing in my swamp?!
Such an amazing dense biome already has a special place in a lot of players hearts.
I'm more excited for the Warden and the Deep Dark. No questions asked
The warden is the #1 mob chosen out of any other mob. Players are finding ways to kill the warden, also, to stay safe when fighting it. Weapon to use; fully enchanted bow. It takes 20-25 shots (Full charge).
"the minecraft 1.19 wild update is adding a lot of new content to minecraft."
ngl that one made me laugh
Best feature? Mangrove planks. Mud bricks would be a close 2nd if the grout-lines were a bit better looking. (too much of a dark-bluish hue).
It would be awesome if they added animals!! Like deer, more advanced wolves, in savannahs, cheetahs, elephants , etc
Hell I want the 4th Dimension while Minecraft have said its not ruled out they did say there was more stuff they wanted to Polish and clean up before thinking about it which makes sense they have put a ton of work into the biomes the game i started playing way way way back in August 2011 is a completely different game
Wild Update? More like Caves and Cliffs Part 3
Great video, I’d forgotten about half of these! Thanks Wattles!
Am I the only one that thought a fully grown propagule would fall from the mangrove tree and grow into a new mangrove? Basically you would be able to make a natural forest without having to plant the trees yourself. Although I imagine that would get kinda messy.
I thought that too
Yeah it would
The funny thing is, back in Minecraft Alpha, I thought it was a tree-spreading mechanic, as you'd always find oak saplings just laying around in newly generated chunks.
Yes, Caves and Cliffs III: Mild update
My brain still thinks of andesite, diorite and granite as "The new blocks" so imagine how I feel about we being in 1.19 already...
What happens to the recovery compass when you die? Do you keep it so it can guide you to your death spot, or do you lose it ?
Wattles: We don’t have time to listen to it
Also Wattles: ends video
The best wild update feature is the new frogs and allay and mangrove wood
I Love adventure Time, fun fact, the Minecraft concept artist and mojang where inspired
I love how they drop frog legs and new positions in this update. Yeah this update is shit
Thanks it’s diffently those features
The best feature is the update to swamps in my opinion and thanks for the info
Thanks for catching me up bro... i last played this game since the aquatic update.
Unpopular opinion: mojang should remove the old swamps. The point of the wild update was to REVAMP existing biomes….
So far they have updated - as of 8th of May - 0 ^tm
Edit: MUD PILLARS
They should keep old swamp but
-add mud to them
-change their colors to that of mangrove's. Regular swamp has very dark green color of leaves and digusting grey water while mangrove has cyan water and yellowish leaves
Yes, i thought the same when they let the old mountains coexisting with new ones, instead of replacin the old ones
@@DeeJayBanana44 And changing the wood of that swamp trees.
@@Jesus-qv5sw yeah, green planks would be perfect, oak is overused imo. also trees in badlands should have its own wood type
The upside down-I mean the new caves look interesting, I'm also excited about the Ancient Cities
This update is so damn disappointing 😞
So I'd say it's gonna be a big update.
agreeeeeeeeeeeed 100
yep I can't wait for the warden!
No, its not big at all.
They could have have just named them "Swamp and Sculk" rather than "Wild" because when I think of The Wild I think of the Safari imo
First
Second
You’re actually first
@@finna2533 true but everyone has heard of someone saying they are first when they are first but I doubt you've seen someone claim second when in first
@@Dense0cactus I wasn’t talking about you
I don't know if you knew it but armor will now equip itself from the crafting table if you're not wearing Annie armor even Shields and I can't wait for this update so please keep us updated I hope you read this
1.19 the why bother update.
@@darth3911 yeah
Hoppers already move items at max speed tho bruh
@@darth3911 how would the fix the Loot problem, the weapons and armour we have already do attack and defence at max efficiency
Mangrove Swamp for building, deep dark structure for the adventure and the compass 🧭
Going to need a bunch of those shards to make several compasses, though.
I'm SO excited for mud bricks!!! My current survival base is inspired by Mespelbrunn Castle in Germany, and the color of the mud brick matches it exactly. Currently, I've been using brown terracotta, but it just doesn't hit the same...
The wild update is wild-ly disappointing in terms of new features
Not sure about wildly, we get a lot of stuff, but it’s fair to be a little miffed
I like the azalia trees, you think the minecraft developers fix them to have their own wood?
I've just always wanted an update where you can have your own dragon by hatching the egg you get after beating the ender dragon. Saddles can be used to ride the dragons. That would be great
I don’t know if I believe it, buuut apparently there is a way to prevent the Warden from attacking you. You can become friends with the Warden by adding the username “Warden” to your Xbox Live friends list before the update comes out supposedly. Worth a shot I guess. Happy crafting ❤️
they should’ve added more to the swamp like bugs, mud you can sink in, cooler vines,
im excited for mud. Mud bricks are the exact color of brick ive been wanting
Can you pick up tadpole eggs like you can turtle eggs? And will they break if you jump on them
Why are there no bogs in the swamp? Would be nice if we had something similar in mechanics to how the 'snowier snow' works in the snow biomes? Maybe something that makes it difficult to move without the freeze effects or replaces the freeze damage with poison?
Thank you, I was looking for a full recap for someone who didn't follow every single snap chat and you were one of the only ones lol (not even Xisuma, i mean c'mon). You also made it brief so big ups.
Its not called the wild update.
Its called: Minecraft: Mangroves & Wardens
OMG THAT NEW WOOD IS GORGEOUS I AM GOING TO PLAN A BUILD WITH IT ASAP also the frogs are adorable and I will make an army of them
Minecarts staying together and the recovery compass and the different boats are the best features
As soon as I saw the frogs I immediately got really happy
That ancient city portal thing smells like a teaser for a future version...
u know the recovery compass will specially be useful in a hardcore world
Great way to test the mobs dying near Catalysts: Spawn squids. They can dry out and stay put.
Lol this Man will never let his grudge with azalea bushes die. It's been a year let it go
I‘m always excited for new wood types
Frogs.
I'm excited for frogs.
Oh the most excited thing I was looking for was the features that were promised but were dropped and the copper golem which got screwed ovee
Even though this is supposedly shortened, it still feels like it's dragging on and repeating itself.
0:30 fireflies (lol)
the chest boat sounds AWESOME!!!!
Always love the supreme content Wattles!
This is not the wild update, this is the deep dark update, you can't tell me otherwise.
I can’t wait for the mud block because I’m working on a WW I map so the mud block would be a great block to use in the build
I wish the ancient city had more incentive, like a good sword or armor set. Unless ur one of the 5 people that like music disc collecting. There is absolutely no reason to go to the ancient city:(
I love getting a wattles video at 4 43am
