Met Rob at his brother John's house in Pacifica in 93" when I was 10. He and his brother rented a limo to take investors somewhere later that evening. Rob payed the limo driver extra to drive a bunch of us neighborhood kids (along with his nieces) to the local Mcdonalds before the investors arrived. It was one of the highlights of my childhood and I've never forgot how generous and cool he was!

I saw Rob on a TV one day in the 90’s. It was a childhood thing I remember too. 🤣😂🤣😂. Real talk Rob is always entertaining in his movies.

My Mother volunteered at a Napa Valley Mustard Festival years back and had the good fortune to assist at the table where Rob Scheider and guests were sitting. She said that Rob was one the genuinely nicest people she's ever met and that he was gracious and kind to everyone he met. That says a lot about him, in my book.

Yes, Bill doesn’t understand how much of left wing “shut down the other person’s argument” tendencies he has, and the reverse when he argues his points, like “that’s a wall” Trump denying he lost the election.
Bill is so out of his depths in history with Rob that he's constantly trying to one-up him with all sorts of irrelevant facts. Rob is in his element.
Maher pretends to be smart and a student of history. Yes, he pulls out one random bit of trivia to try to sound informed when he hasn't the logic to connect any facts.

This was my favourite episode of Club Random so far. Rob Schneider always puts a smile on my face.
The only negative is how Bill acts when Trump and the election is brought up - condescending, angry and unlikeable.
Bill is a shill...watched him for yrs (80sish)...never a funny comedian, a flip flopper and not one to trust. Rob on the other hand...a stand up guy! This is a great interview

Bill literally said he hoped America would go into a recession so trump wouldn't get re elected.

He really does have a hard wall there-he will never listen to anything that a guest/friend has to say that is good about Trump or about the numerous issues with that election. If he could spend the time to go through all the witness testimony of the way the republican volunteers were pushed away from the pollsters so they couldn’t be observed, that alone was super sketch-I saw enough of that to strongly support Trump’s claim, let alone all of the other things that were not legit about the changing of rules right before the election without representatives voting on it. It is sad the Supreme Court was too chicken to do anything about it-I think they considered how it would go over with the TDS side of the population that would burn the world down. Probably the biggest mistake in history. They could have fully vetted the votes with bipartisan focus and volunteers of good standing. But the level of scrutiny wasn’t sufficient to resolve the population’s concerns and now the DOJ is revealing that we can’t have any trust for the government …. It sucks-I just want everyone to get along like we did when ska and swing were popular in the late 90s:). Now I worry about my kid’s future-I think that is a reason Bill can’t see what’s happening fully. He will be gone before things get so bad that it would affect his life. That’s why he doesn’t have enough openness to see the problems with the current administration and the danger that they represent to the country’s future.

I think the BIGGEST failing of EVERYTHNG that Rob ever did. was that he was not more well loved in his time. and he was not given the roles he deserved. he is CRIMMINALLY UNDERRATED as a comidian, and as an actor. he is smart and has a big heart. this man shold have gotten a better deal in hollywood!
Two things, Rob is incredibly well versed, not only with current events but interesting facts from the past. Secondly, and I say this with the utmost respect Bill, try to let your guest complete their thoughts. It was frustrating trying to listen to Rob but getting interrupted without completing finishing his thoughts. I’m not trying to piss you off Bill but merely suggesting a way to improve your podcast. Keep up the good work, love it!!

When someone begins with a clearly false premise it is important to challenge it up front, otherwise they spin a logical argument that is based on a false premise. At that point an erroneous point has been made in a convincing way, and challenging the premise at that point is ineffective, even though it's just as valid.
Bill sounds like an angry. envious little man, Rob made the episode watchable.

Biggest ones for me were the world war 2 discussion, felt for Rob so much during that part, which is why we must never stop talking or learning about WW2.

Bill can be crabby and selfish in a conversation. He might not be fun to talk to when he's like that. But it passes as the conversation changes. It's a good show and I'd never have known all of the people I do now. They've all been nice people who I wouldn't even have considered.
Rob seems possibly nice at heart, but he's clearly nuts, drank the Kool-Aid and fell way down the conservative bull shit rabbit hole. Bill tries to show Rob the idiocy and the irony of the bull shit conspiracy theories and made up nonsense that he's spewing, but every time he did, Rob would just quickly try to change the subject and just kept trying to rapid fire garbage. I think that frustrated Bill, which is why he was a little prickly. Talking to an idiot that has the listening and critical thinking skills of a wall is never fun for anyone, especially when you like the person and want to help them like Bill was trying to do.

This Club Random podcast just keeps getting better. I learned about Rob Schneider watching this. I learned that while it would seem there are some things I do not agree with him on, he’s a sweet and affable man. I’m a fan now. Bill’s ability to see through the bullshit and have a genuine conversation with someone is incredible and incredibly important. This was funny and heart warming. And it drove home many really important points, none more so than two people appreciating the chance to talk with each other despite their few differences.
Just if you don’t know- check out Fly On The Wall with Dana Carvey and David Spade. Just did a two parter with the Rob. Amazing

I thought Rob Schneider was funny on SNL and then for the last 20 years I thought he was so redundant and annoying. I'm so happy to halve stumbled across this interview, the guy is effing hilarious!
I love this particular club random, because it focuses on the point that we all come from somewhere and most of us don't all come from here originally we all have families and stories and tragedies that came with us. We all have our story to tell. We all have our tragedies. But I guess it's what we make of them that make us a solid human being. It makes me remember that I believe it was Lincoln who said it's not about how many times you fall, but truly about how many times you get up! And my point here is I think we're all battling with this there's not just some select small group as they want us to believe!

I got off work at 5:30; drove 30 minutes to pick up my medically fragile daughter from her moms; drove 20 minutes home; unloaded all her stuff; started on her routine medical ‘stuff’ about an hour ago; and was just thinking: “Welp, guess I’ll heat up a frozen burrito for supper after I’m done with my daughter’s stuff, then try to find something on UA-cam.”

Great Interview. Real discussion and real diss agreements. I have these with my friends and that’s the way it should be. Respectful. We don’t have to agree on everything. We also have to accept when we’re wrong we’re human we don’t know everything and we make mistakes. I don’t think that’s to much to ask for .
Am a fan of Rob Schneider and followed some of his zany movies and standup for the 80-90s but surprised me on this episode, I never knew he was so good with his political history and balance view on so many non-comedic trivia. WOW. Impressed the shit out of me.

Rob came off a lot quicker, more charming, and funnier than I remembered him being, I need to check out his stand up stuff.

His stand up on Netflix is really good. He has a daughter who’s a country music singer that usually joins him on stage at the end of his shows.

Loved watching this interview. Rob has in the past has done a lot of fundraising for the schools in Pacifica. The Blue Angels fly over San Francisco during Fleet Week which usually takes place in October.

Man, Bill’s inability to shake his severe case of TDS is so unfortunate. I understand him not being a fan of Trump but he gets so indignant, it blinds him to some really good points that some of his guests try to make. Rob was trying so hard to make some great points and Bill just could not allow him to get them out because he thought Rob was defending Trump. I enjoy a lot of the podcasts but I sure wish he’d let people talk.
Yeah I don't really see how he can even argue Robs point about news/social media being the biggest factor in swaying elections. Every single study shows that 80%+ of all people get their political information from ONLY social/MSM media. If social media is bought and paid for by one side of the aisle and they intentionally block stories that would sway millions of votes, then that is by definition election interference.
Bill won't even give Trump a thumbs for things up that are very clearly positives like brokering peace deals, record high employment numbers and getting industries to return to the US. That is not an honest take (as he likes to call it)

Bills interviewing technique is flawless and the way he gets his subject to open up is truly a sight to behold. He inquired what was it that Rob had issues with then Bill praises him and then Rob goes to open up about it and Bill interrupts and praises him again completely cutting off the story as if he doesn't care to hear it or offering the opportunity to change the subject. This creates the environment of a safe haven and this allows the subject to pick and choose what they wanna talk about at their leisure which inevitably becomes just = Good conversation between friends.
You really don't listen to what you say. You said it, he's rude and cuts people off when he doesn't have the upper hand.
Rob was right about many things that bill tried to shut him down.
Still things that bill just can not outright agree with even after all these years of waking up

He was drowning in irelevancy and was one of the first/only on the left to notice this niche of rapprochement and jumped on it. Its not a bad thing, the Left needs it more than the other side. I just doubt its honesty. I remember how radical he was on many issues in the early days of RT. He was the first violin of the woke.
On elections? Rob was waaay off base.
Bill Maher really believes that Biden got 81 million votes, more votes than Obama and can focus on things Trump did that he says are illegal but not a peep about Biden, Hunter's laptop and the selling of influence to foreign countries
Rob was actually wrong about the finding votes thing being bad "that's bad, that's bad". It wasn't bad. It's what he _had_ to do, if he were to legitimately look for evidence of fraud. He literally can't ask to find more evidence of fraud than what would've been enough to change the outcome. Any more and it's a waste of tax payer money. Then the argument changes from "he was looking for votes so he could steal the election" to "You're not allowed to investigate fraud that way". That's how you know it's all BS.
He's had brillant guests, not all of them are, but you learn which ones you don't want bump into if you met them on the street because they will put you to sleep. And others you really wish you could engage with that you never knew you would want to. I love this show.
I love Rob Schneider, every time I see him in a movie I think the entire room perks up. Everyone wants to watch him. I can't think of a single thing he's done that I haven't enjoyed. Just the name drop of him being in a movie is enough for me to watch it so that I can see what he does with the scene. I think he's a really nice guy too. In college, a buddy of mine went down to some baseball thing, maybe spring training, and he saw Rob Schneider there. Rob Schneider took this really nice picture with him and my buddy had the picture in his dorm room. It was an instant conversation starter and gave the guy a lot of street cred. I remember seeing it for the first time and just staring at the photo and was like, is that Rob Schneider?? How did you get a picture with him?! Super nice thing for him to do for a total stranger.
Rob Schneider is the greatest underappreciated comedian of south east Asian, Prussian, Tarnipolese ... well any way... good guy.

Love the show. My only negative is I really wish he wouldn’t interrupt as much as he does. Other than that - great stuff!
It is annoying when he interrupts, especially when they are getting revved up to say something interesting. But then I remember he’s drunk and high as fuck, then realize it’s unavoidable. Great none the less.
Dear Bill: One thing...a person saying something is wholly different than a person doing something. A person can say horrible things, it does not make it illegal. Sorry Bill you are wrong on this one.

Which isn't healthy. That type of narcissism in charge of your world is too scary for many. Agree or not, it never happened before here and a symptom of something worse. I agree it's larger than life but agree with Bill, he is not fit for heading the country more than any other "bad" president.
