The Jar is the BEST Bradbury Hitchcock ever did. Ray Bradbury was haunted by spooky carnival memories from his childhood and only when he tapped into those nightmares did he write his greatest stories.
How did he deserve that? He just grew apart from his wife that doesn't make him a bad person. He didn't cheat on her or anything. They just should have gotten a divorce. She could have married someone who was more affectionate, she was pretty enough, and he could travel all he wanted. Too bad for the people living at the time divorce was more taboo.
A pretty good adaption of Ray Bradbury’s story. It’s interesting to watch this show and Ray Bradbury Presents together, they both adapt the same short stories of his but with different actors.
It seems to me his wife would hear his motor running as soon as she got near him and know the truth and plan the murder of the real husband! I like it!!
@Corno di Bassetto : i got the impression that the absence of a heart beat, not the sound of whirring cogs connecting with gears, was the tip off that it was not a human being.
Reminds me of that film multiplicity. What would you do if you had a clone of yourself? I just had a thought. You could pull a Bernie Madoff and have the clone do the time for you lol.
I hate these ad/commercial breaks but I’ll be damned if I’ll pay 13f’n bucks to stop 🛑 them. All they want to do take your money those money grabbing/grubbing bastardized!!!👺
You actually watch the video? It's just a snippet of the whole episode. I can't even imagine watching this as the episode. I only come here for the comments.
@Jan J When they were making the bet. They were called lawn jockeys. In the old days they would hitch a horse to it. They would be in front of the house usually. They were cast iron. Many were of American Americans, the faces were painted black. They are only maybe 3 feet tall so look closely.
Sir Alfred Hitchcock didn't write any play for TV shows. He just adapt the mystery stories from a pool of mystery writers for his TV shows,May be he had taken this play from wacko Stephen Hawking.
i knew something was off when he kept saying, " I am really fond of your wife."
Yes it telegraphed the ending really well.
So THAT'S where it comes from!
"I've a good mind to send you back to the factory for readjustment. Now behave."
I say that to my kids all the time!
If only right?
Hitchcock is both universal and timeless.
Clone stories NEVER end well. -19 FEB 2020
I like how Hitchcock adapted Ray Bradbury stories.

Most of the Ray Bradbury Theater episodes are on UA-cam. It's also plays on the Comet TV channel.
This one is funny, "now get in this box and behave"
Brilliant 💫👏
Excelent, I wasn"t prepated for that. Thanks a lot. 🤗
Step ford Husband that really loves his wife.
Yes, he wasn't programmed to love her; he fell in love with her all on his own.
Fun. Clone stories are always interesting. Thanks!
Got what he deserved n Hitchcock is a genius!!

Good one

I thought it would end at 06:50 .
OMGoodness...we had those kind of garage markings on our family home growing up. Our house in HB was built in 1960.
First time i ever seen this.good lesson
I needed a good ill story like that!!
Multiplicity stole this story but it's still a great story of cloning!
I thought of the movie Multiplicity, too.
Wifey is gonna gonna get a lot more
'attention' from now on.
I wonder how many other X-One or Suspense radio shows have made it to TV.
3:20, says 1965 models... 5:20, card reads 1985 models... hmmm...
That is a good catch..
$15,000 for the deluxe model. 2021. How much?
$129,379.05

250k give or take.
Moral of the story, "Love your wife, or something else will" lol
Hitchcock Sci-fi!
I heard this on CBS MRT.
Turing test=Pass ✅
Sort of reminds me of 'Bicentennial Man,' starring Robin Williams.
Best

Corno di Bassetto Thanks for pointing that out.

Wow!! Is this where the Real Humans TV series started?
I was right
😳😳😳😳😳 elm terrace to boot
What's that on the floor while he is reading his bank book?
you should give a time stamp with questions like that

Yessss... But so worth it.
Very worth it! I mostly watch UA-cam for entertainment.

I don't like the racist statue in the beginning.
So unnecessary. 😡

Oh brother🙄
That was then. Get over it
I think the lawn jockey was used to subtly suggest that manufacturing and exploiting marionettes amounted to a reintroduction of slavery.
Didn't know Hitchcock made stupid stories. Robots cannot plan a murder.
Well, rumor has it he wasn't very bright.
Sir Alfred Hitchcock didn't write any play for TV shows. He just adapt the mystery stories from a pool of mystery writers for his TV shows,May be he had taken this play from wacko Stephen Hawking.
I was being sarcastic. Love A.H.
well as they said, they're marionettes, not robots. Besides, he's hardly planning, simply processing data, 'what if' questions If you would.
Of course they could as much as they could plan a trip to the store to buy groceries.
Amazing we have now 😮...
Getting closer every day.
