Cloris Leachman was a legend! We just lost her in January of this year (2021). Of all her works, this may be the first time I’ve seen this great episode! Let’s never forget her role in Young Frankenstein as Frau Blucher! The world has lost one of the best actresses of all time. RIP Cloris. You won’t be forgotten! 🌹

She also starred in her own t.v. series, I believe, called "Faye."(early to mid 70's, I think) I grew to be a bit of a fanatic of hers. Very nice!!!

It's always a joy to see an early performance from such a great actress. Cloris Leachman was marvellous. I've a picture of my mum in a dress very much like hers. RIP we lost her in 2021
She was brilliant, beautiful, and a genuinely warm person. It’s worth seeing “Kiss Me Deadly” to watch a young Cloris in a small , but unforgettable role
It's amazing to see Chloris Leachman as a young woman. I only know her from her later roles such as the grandma on Malcolm in the Middle. Thanks for posting these!
Bob, I only discovered 'One Step Beyond' on UA-cam this evening and I've watched about 4 episodes, but this episode with the lovely actress Cloris is extra good. I must admit never hearing her name before, and sad on knowing she's died thiis year. Reading her obituary, she seemed a very busy actress, well known in the US but not here in the UK. She was 94, I hope I reach that grand old age.
Cloris Leachman, 93 years old now, bless her. Such a good actress - and why do all the women have such lovely, slim, well-proportioned figures back then?! There is a big difference back then from now - but I can't put my finger on it!
@49jubilee I absolutely agree! Sit down meals with the family gave daily support and encouraged healthy eatng and a good relationship with food. Teens only went out to the drive-in for cheeseburgers and fries as a treat on a date - never everyday! And people got more exercise! Kids were out gardening or playing gameswith friends - not hunched over a computer all the time! Many thanks for replying and God Bless 💞
I once read that she actually won a beauty contest in her youth. Her figure shows up in the dress she wears in this episode. I liked her best in a Gunsmoke episode. Her acting was always superb.
Wow. This was so erie. I'd seen it before, but didn't remember immediately. Still, I decided to watch the whole thing again. I rarely recall details anyway. Thanks Pizza Flix.

I MUST share my own experience here. 49 years ago, on April the 11th, 1972 at 8:40 PM my mother had a very bad automobile accident. I was 10 years old with four younger and trembling siblings. I prayed to God to let our mom remain with us. She was in critical condition. My prayer was heard. She was saved. She expired at the age of 89 a few weeks ago. THE TIME AND DATE OF HER DEMISE? APRIL THE 11TH, 2021 AT 8:40PM. Thank you God/Providence/Mother Nature for those 49 years.
I can't believe I am watching this episode of "One Step Beyond". When this show was airing in the 50's and 60's it began by saying "Alcoa Presents" One Step Beyond. My parents wouldn't let me watch scary shows because they thought I'd have nightmares, however, our house had a long row of windows that separated the TV room from the master bedroom. I snuck into my parents bedroom and watched it by looking through those windows...this episode scared me so badly. The look on the face of this ghost man was so terrifying to me that I never forgot it. Imagine scrolling through these shows and finding the very one that scared me so badly. Of course, as I watched it this time I still thought it was scary but not nearly as horrifying as I thought it was back then. Thank you for airing these old TV shows. It's amazing how they take you back in time.
"You're a bad man, a very bad man", and the poor neighbor couldn't even play his Perry Como record. Then Mumy turned him into a jack-in-a box, and whisked him into the cornfield. This was on the man's birthday too.
Mrs. Leachman, played a profoundly pulchuridinous charater in this 30 min ride. In my book yes she was an eye catching payday candy bar tucked in to that sweater better than the Kadishian sisters. The effervescent Marcel Dalio, don't know much about him, might've seen him in a nostalic 40's spool. That Warren Beatty spool was exhilarating.
I love everything CLORIS LEACHMAN is in. She was great in Bad Santa even though she barely spoke. She looked modern in this episode. I am going to look her up in Wikipedia.

Great episode. Never saw this one. Cloris so pretty. Read some of the posts re women & their clothes, heels & jewelry. I always thought growing up that was neat as my mom was a professional chef & baker but grew up on a farm so if not wearing a kitchen "uniform" she wore jeans (except she called them "overalls"). Funny, most of my girlfriends's moms NEVER wore jeans.
Wow. I never saw her earlier work, just in MTM. This is a double treat, the series being the other. It seems older than 1959, because of the charming old apartment she's in and the Black and White tone.

A hell of a performance, and Cloris' complete panic in the scene made it even more effective. I wish OSB had lasted at least a few more years.
My father's older brother---our favorite uncle of all time---married a French woman who never lost her accent, and it didn't sound like the fake ones on here. She spoke with a strong accent, but it was very clear and understandable.

She was such a great actress, she could portray so many different types of characters. This character (obviously) is totally different from Phyllis or the woman she played in The Last Picture Show. When I saw her in Kiss Me Deadly it was a complete revelation
Has there ever been better, creepier theme music? I say absolutely never. Harry Lubin's "Fear" and during an episode in the background "Weird". Both of these pieces are the best ever.
These are just utter gems. The rubbish today cannot compare with these. I settle down with a cuppa& escape from this awful world& enjoy half an hour of bliss. ❤

I concur. Cloris was quite talented; real, smart, she made a connection with the audience.

I love Cloris Leachman 😷😷🐩💕Rest is peace. Thank you for the legacy 🥰
I love how all the women are wearing very fitted dresses, high heels and pearls even when hanging out a home doing housework, cleaning
it's a show. 😁
@@hopemccubbin8661 No, I lived in those days and many middle class women dressed like that.
I lived in that time. Dress up to clean? FARCE. Only a man would be disillusioned enough to believe women dressed up to scrub a toilet.
My mom wore heals, a dress or skirt and pearls every day. Women used to be ladies back in the day.
Me too, but it never happened in reality. Kinda like how people dress up to stay in the house on today's shows
So nice to see Cloris Leachman being her lovely self. Love her as Phyllis, but this is a nice change of pace.
I thought she was very attractive in The Last Picture Show.
I love these types of series!! Just wonderful. Please continue with the uploads 🤗👍🏽

Cloris' movements are so natural and non-theatrical. Very watchable style of acting.

Cloris just past away, May she Rest in Peace...thanks for the Twilight Zone shorts. Love em...Peace.

Fantastic acting! One of the best episodes!
I loved her in "Raising Hope", Some of the best work in a comedy TV show.
Cloris Leachman is so beautiful and such a good actress. This episode is one of the best "One Step Beyond". :) 🌷

How are you doing today?
This is one of my favorite episodes of One Step Beyond featuring Cloris Leachman
Such a natural beauty Cloris Leachman is.
Being an Iowa Girl helps a lot...
Cloris Leachman, “The last picture show”. Outstanding supporting role in one of my favorite movies.

She won an Oscar for that picture. She was amazing
Cloris Leachman! What an actress; she won a record of NINE Emmies!

She was Miss America, 1946. I guess you could say she won several beauty contests. She will be missed.
