Thank you for a delightful escape from shoveling snow (Dec 1st/2020 - Toronto) I stopped using WJ about 10 yrs ago because they only carried Fox News. AC domestic doesn't impress me much either for the $$ they charge. Hopefully competition will lead to better value for the domestic traveler. ps: WJ flight simulation was absolutely worth the time you put into making it :)

I originally thought cardiovascular since I found it so fascinating as a student but ended up in pediatrics which, thinking back, is exactly what all the Doctors training us predicted I’d specialize in. As sick as those children were, they gave more joy, hope, happiness to me than I could ever give to them. The Nurses used to hate it when I’d show up on the floor because the kids and I would create havoc goofing around 😉🙄
I am the middle aged lady having the panic attack. 😲😲. No joke, when I was flying to, Philadelphia in a bad thunderstorm one night, I just knew we were going to die. I. Already have panic attacks just the thought of flying, but I put my big girl panties on and have flown numerous times since. Still don’t like it though.

I like Westjet's business class seats more than those of Air Canada. It seems like whenever I fly Air Canada Signature Class internationally, the seat frequently deflates in the middle or towards the end of the flight making it feel like I am sitting on a rock. The flight attendants would then need to reset the seat (which doesn't always work).
In all my dealings with West Jet they have been very friendly while providing unexcelled efficiency.Having dealt with the founders of the company a few years ago, I can see what the staff use as models. Their (staff and owner's) goal has always been customer satisfaction, which always bolsters the 'Bottom Line'.
I was today years old when I found out that YYC is Westjet's hub, which is weird because that's my main international airport, and I take a lot of international flights to the UK. I flew on Westjet's 2nd direct flight from YYC to Glasgow about 7 years ago. I loved it, and was so happy to have a direct option to Scotland. But they stopped doing it (before covid I believe) which makes no sense to me, seeing as about half of the population of Calgary are descendants or direct immigrants from Scotland (and mostly from Glasgow).
Just wanted to say, I just found you this morning. I’m a 67yr Irish feisty Nana that spent my youth traveling the world as you do now.. Ah the days of prop planes and jets, yet the service and food 5 stars. I live in NC in the states now but have family all over the world. I stopped flying quite a while ago when multiple children came along....your videos are excellent and well orated....you remind me of my eldest son.....your sense of humor dispersed throughout is wonderful!! Love the “hungover wake ups!....lolol such truth are rare!....my nephews travel to the Middle East frequently and my youngest brother is a pro golfer coach in Europe and Middle East

False! We are very unlucky to only have 2 major airline carriers. It means tickets are inflated for both options. Less competition is not a good thing. That is why Canada is the most expensive country to fly with in.
I flew that route (on that plane) earlier in December but in Economy and it was one of the most comfortable flights I've taken with them (it may have helped that there was like 50 passengers on the plane lol). Wish I could've taken this plane to London when I flew with them. Also, Calgary airport has been stupid busy every time I've gone through there during the pandemic.

This looks like Swiss Business Class which I would not exactly describe as a "pod." The side rows do offer a bit more privacy than some older BC seats I've been in (LH, United, TAP, American, Aer Lingus long-hauls.)
I do hope that you are not another "Sam Chui". Give an honest review as you always has been doing. That's what people want to watch and listen not everything nice from A to Z as HE DID WHICH IS NOT A REVIEW ANYMORE.
The ending was pretty honest, and he was straight up about the special treatment. The mans definitely not Sam, and won’t be. He’s far smarter and classier.
What I appreciate about this channel is that on top of the humor, he does a really good job showing you everything you'd want to see instead of telling you. He only talks about the price/service, the rest he leaves for you to judge, hence the very apt channel name.
I think this is better than Sam Chui. It’s mature. Sam’s low moments are those crew talking moments, when he points to the obvious to both the audience and crew (meal served, “so, is this a meal? Great). If VV would take to talking to crew, for sure he wouldn’t do that. Besides, since Sam became famous to airline’s marketing and communications departments his videos have the background music of a natural disaster breaking news report. Without offending car owners, a comparison would be Sam Chui = Mazda/Hyundai, VV = Audi/Mercedes.

Watched this because I was interested! I fly from Calgary to Cape Breton every year to visit my family, and I've never ever had a bad Westjet experience, they're always so sweet and their service is impeccably consistent. I'll definitely consider paying the extra $50-100 for more comfortable seating in the future now that I know what I've been missing from those 5-8 hour flights LOL

Fantastic trip report! They seem to have a good Business Class product. The seats in other classes look comfortable as well. The turbulence was very strong, almost like on my KE experience which lasted about 5 hours 😅😅

Thank GOD Westjet is now operating to Maui because last time I went on Air Canada I will admit it was a good deal for $500 round trip in Economy class, but MAN the seats were absolutely garbage. They were like a standard edition because the seats were 90% cloth so I could feel the person’s knees on my back all flight. Also the person behind me did put their no-sock feet on both my arm rest sooooooo... Anyway thanks for the review! :)

It seems that WESTJET doesn't have window seats in Business Class. Just seats that you can see the window from. 😊 The motion sensor toilet flush is a nice but how do you raise and lower the toilet seat without touching it? 😁 In the hangar, C-FHCM tells us that it is a 737-8. This is to fool Joe Public that it is just any other Boeing 737, hoping that they haven't seen the news of the 737 MAX debacle. Isn't that misrepresentation? There will be those who will jump on the bandwagon saying that the 737 MAX is the safest aircraft in the world after all the mods, testing and re-certification. If they think that this is the case, be honest and paint what it is on the aircraft. Are WESTJET following RYANAIR in this misinformation? 😒

I like the interior design. Soft and relaxing. Much nice being in business when there is turbulence. More to hold on to so it seems more stable.
