I would add a clear vinyl index card size label pocket as well as I would use it as a project basket to hold the accompanying pattern, embellishments and notions! Perfect gift idea.
I would have placed the free arm inside of the basket, lining & lined basket, sewing from the outside, as I have when sewing sleeves in place, & hemstitching. Love the ideas & use of Bosal to keep baskets just a little more controlled. The variety of the Rainbow colors is a visually pleasing choice!!! Great was to see the fat quarters... maybe make baskets for 10 ", 5", 2 & 1/2 squares, strips. Certainly would make it easier to see the fabric, as you said, rather than keeping them in closed bins... thanks for these wonderful ideas!!!
That was one of my first videos and I was so nervous I totally goofed up. That is how I use my free arm when I Make them. I didn’t even realize I had done that. Until the video was posted. 😂🤣😂🤣 Bosal is amazing, I love it in bags too. Thanks for watching❤️❣️
@@sisterchicksquilting You did a great job. Easy to follow. I like the height of your bag for your fat quarters. By having them nestled down lower it makes the sewing room look clean and organized.
What we didn’t get to see was your giddy delight at having those cute little baskets in your quilting room. I’m sure your fabric squares will be delighted with their new homes!
I've made about 10 of these for my grandchildren. Today I made one to hold a tea set and added matching napkins and a table cloth. thank you for the tutorial!
Disregard my previous comment - sewed an outside sample piece - figured out the finished basket dimensions. Fits perfectly in my sewing drawers. Thank You. Love it! Nancy P.
Your videos are always so easy to follow. As I'm aging I find it increasingly difficult to learn new things. I guess it's true what they say about teaching old dogs new tricks! Thank you for taking your time and sharing with us. 🇺🇸
You've helped me tremendously. I have a beautiful fabric (a jacquard, I think) that I've been struggling to figure out to do with it. It just seems too flimsy, even if I add fusible fleece. This Bosal foam just might be the answer! Thank you!
I started watching because I need to make fabric boxes but, got distracted by your nails. Your half moons on your fingers are fabulous ❤. I had to start taking vitamin D and mine are finally coming back along with my energy. The video is great also! 😊
Now how cute is this?!! I need to go through my fabric stash. I think I’m going to make a few changes for mine. I would use the ‘free arm’ as designed, like sewing a cuff or hem. I would attach my colored band after my both sides are sewn, so both ends of the band go over the seam and not sewn in. I would sew my lining with a larger seam allowance so it’s a tighter fit after the box was turned. I would also make my lining (in a coordinating fabric) about 1/2” taller so after the basket was turned, it would peek out over the top edge, and as you recommended, top stitch down. Thanks for sharing. 👍
Saw them in the background during a video and had to find your video on how to make them. I like how the different color stripes allows you to sort your fat quarters by color. Need a color, grab the basket with the colors in it. Very nice. I plan on making some for my space, when I get one. Waiting on a kiddo to finish college and get her own place so I can convert her room.😊. To make the basket sit flatter, you can buy at the dollar store the thin plastic cutting boards. Comes in a two pack and you can cut it to fit.
