      Ya, that sand was sketchy for sure! Luckily, that loop is fairly well traveled. Even some side-by-side and quad tours that go through that area, so if I got stuck, I wasn’t afraid of injury related to heat.

    Great video brother. I did the trail today, but turned around at the rock where you said to use 4x4. Didn't feel comfortable going up it, especially with an topper attached to it... I think I would've been fine, but something said another day. Great video!!

    Awesome! I’m a complete newbie and have rented a Rubicon-think I could get to the steep part and then turn around to avoid any climbing/sand? Or is it a loop and I shouldn’t turn around?
    If I can turn around, is the scenery worth it to just do that first part?
    I’ll have a couple guys with me but they’re also newbies.
    Thanks!

      Hi 👋 yes, totally worth it to just do the first part and turn back before that steep climb. 😃 The scenery of next level, and through that first part there are some great places to stop for a snack/picnic style lunch. Thank you for watching and for your comment! I really appreciate it! 😀

    Another great video. Trail seems overall tame with the exception of some sandy spots. Do you think an Outback Wilderness edition can tackle this trail?

    • @TrailNewbie
      @TrailNewbie  11 місяців тому +1

      Hi 👋🏼 thank you so much for your kind words and for watching!! 🙌🏻 I would think so, yes. The sandy parts would be my only concern, but some of those would be optional. Make sure: 1) if it’s hot out bring tons of water in case you do get stuck you have ample H2O and 2) keep up your speed and deflate your tires appropriately for the sand. 😃👊🏼

    Great video, music, and narration! This is just a suggestion, but if you can avoid it, never solo in the desert, especially mid summer. I have saved many unprepared people in the desert. Disoriented, dehydrated, and lost because they had to abandon their vehicles due to breakdowns or getting stuck.

      I think the main thing I would be cautious of is the sand section. First question would be: what kind of tires do you have? Are you used to airing down? Any chance you can message me on Instagram so I can chat back-and-forth with you to get you the very best recommendation?

    Great Video! Thank you for sharing. What was your tires TPMS during this trail ride?

    • @TrailNewbie
      @TrailNewbie  2 роки тому +1

      Hey Robert! Well, when I was out there, I wasn’t prepared to air down, because I didn’t have my CO2 tank with me. So, I was at 30-35 PSI believe it or not. I wasn’t completely planning on getting into the dunes, but there was a hill I came over and BOOM, I was in the dunes. Pretty much a point of no return - from there I had to manage making it through the dunes by keeping my speed up and not stopping. The sand was really hot, and it got super soft at that point. In hindsight, that element of my trip was not so smart (full PSI on hot sand), but sometimes you get in a tight spot. Gotta keep your cool and power thru as safe as possible. Thanks for reaching out. Let me know if you have any other Q’s.

    what was the total travel time for the loop?

    • @TrailNewbie
      @TrailNewbie  2 роки тому +1

      Hi! From the staging area, I think I spent about 3.5 hours out there, maybe 4. But, keep in mind, I was stopping to film and fly my drone. So, it could be done much quicker. Regarding gas, I went with a full tank, always recommend that if you’re ever headed out into extreme heat. The burn on gas was probably only around 1/4 tank or less. But the drive from Vegas is about 50 minutes each way, so go prepared always. Main point to think about out there is heat, bringing tons of water, and being sure you know how to navigate in soft sand for the dunes section. Bring some traction boards possibly, and be able to air down/up if needed as that will help in the sand for sure! 😃 🌵

      @@TrailNewbie Your super nice, thank you. I just purchased a 2022 Range Rover Defender 90. I hate to ask your opinion, but its stock out of the dealer with the 22" wheel option. Recommend upgrading tires etc or just take it out. It is a $120,000 truck. I would imagine I can just hit the outback as is? as well my biggest concern is driving somewhere im not allowed to drive with a vehicle. It seems to very hard to actually pinpoint on a map the start of the trail. Im going to try to find someone through UA-cam that I can maybe go with a first time, but I might venture out myself. I live in Red Rock canyon so its a straight shot from me to this park I believe.

    • @TrailNewbie
      @TrailNewbie  2 роки тому

      @@ARTTOnline Hi! All good, here to help. With the 22” wheels, I would mainly be concerned that the tires that came with are somewhat low profile - and therefore even a moderate trail might damage the wheels (rims). Maybe find me on Instagram and message me there? I can tell you more about some good apps so you can find where to go and not go in terms of public lands, state parks, national forests, etc. 😃
