@@Bennett-xo6iu Great to hear. So you understand why I have been there 6 times! Always wanted to do Onion Creek- it's on my list. Next time you can explore Long Canyon and venture into Kane Creek- but it gets tricky if you go in too far...like most trails in MOAB. Then there is the whole Mill Canyon area.
@@steveludwig4200 I just prefer it. Both are good. I give the edge to Chicken Corner, even if you only go in as far as the pass (top with the view.) I find Chicken Corner to be a little more scenic and more interesting. There are long stretches, better overlooks, wind caves and at the end, chicken corner which is really cool. Shafer is just a long, nice trail. Has some views towards the end as well. Both are great and you should do both. Ideally do both. Are you planning to visit? Watch some videos online. With either, and especially if you continue passed the pass to the corner, do be careful around some of the turns. There are big drop offs and not guard railings. Never drive to close to the edge. Moab has red mud. The top can look dry but it can be wet an inch down so your truck can continue to slide.
This is by FAR the best video yet from Trails Offroad! The drone footage was excellent. The commentary was so so much better than the other videos! Thank you for not saying, "so stay tuned, let's continue on!" 😉 We'll be in Moab at the end of April so subscribed to TO and doing the research now. Great job guys! @@GATORADDAM You will love all of it. So no UTV's allowed on Shafer since it's IN the Island in the Sky district of "Canyonlands National Park." You are supposed to pay a park entrance fee. There are two parks in the area, Canyonlands and Arches. You can get a pass that covers both parks for a 12 months. You will likely want to come back so that could be the better value. I've been 6 times. If you go UP Shafer (from Potash), you can come DOWN Long Canyon. Look into that. Or you could go UP Long Canyon and Down Shafer. White Rim is fine but I usually only go on it a short way to Muscleman Arch then I turn back. You do NOT want to skip H*lls Revenge. You can do it as a tour where they drive you in their 4x4 or you can follow a guide in a UTV. For your first time, driving alone in your vehicle will be properly intimidating...even right out of the gate from the parking lot. It's exciting. I've done it twice. As long as I take my time and go slow, it's fine. I also stick to the main safari route and I don't hit the optional obstacles. Definitely grab the guide book Moab UT Backroads & 4-WHeel Drive Trails. It's a life saver. Great places to eat are Gilibertos (Mexican), The Jailhouse Cafe' (Breakfast) and the Quesadilla Mobilla Food truck- on the corner near Jailhouse Cafe. Hydrate a lot when you are out there- then hydrate some more. If you like hiking- Delicate Arch and also Morning Glory Arch which is just down Rt. 128- it's not in the park but worth checking out. The drive down 128 is cool too. If you have any questions about the area, let me know. Where are you staying?
@@MOAB-UT A lot of great info. Much appreciated. I'm coming all the way from Central Florida so it is most likely a one shot deal. I'm driving a 2019 Tacoma TRD offroad 3 inch lift on 33s with skids and sliders. It's a month long trip starting with a return to the San Juan's in Colorado to meet up with some folks and do a few trails there including my 3rd run of Black Bear pass. Then on to Utah. My rig is nicely set up for wild camping with rooftop tent, awning, fridge and stuff. So most of my nights will be camping. I've seen videos of Hells Revenge and I'm not sure I'm up to that one. I have to drive my rig 2500 miles home when the trip ends. I really want to do top of the world but that one looks pretty rough on a vehicle as well. But that picture on the edge of the cliff at the top might be worth it. It would go nicely with the picture I have on Poser rock on Imogene pass!
We did this in November of 2020 and loved it. Met a gentleman that was walking his tortoise. He said they walk 2-3 miles on that road every day. It was great!

Great video! Love this trail. Still memorable from 4 years ago when our family went. My kids and wife hit their fear limit riding some of the thinner stretches along the edge and we were prevented from completing the trail by a herd of cattle that blocked the way ahead. Dozens of cattle. Many perched precariously on the ledges below the trail. We waited for quite sometime but they weren't budging, so we did a 3 point turn around on a wide corner and headed back. Still, a very fun and definitely memorable trail!

I just got back from Moab and the trail was in worse shape than it looked in your video, especially once you started headed down the shelf road after Hurah Pass. Even with that pucker factor it was absolutely worth it!

We had no idea there was a pet turtle back there! You're 100% right, America is an absolutely beautiful place to explore, especially by 4wd vehicle! Thanks for watching!
Perfect timing. We are headed up through Colorado and into Utah at the end of May on a major overlanding trip and this is one of the trails on the list in the Moab area. Honestly one of the best videos you guys have posted thus far!
We did this in a 2014 Honda CRV AWD. Some bottom scraping, but it was fun. We didn’t lower the tire pressure to keep the ride height as high as possible.
From the parking spot at the end of the trail there is a short hiking trail that leads west around the corner for a different view. But it is VERY narrow with huge drop-offs.
Amazing video, really takes me back to the first time I was shown this trail by Todd several years ago. Catacomb Rock is a must see on the trail. Can’t wait to check out the next video, the production is great!
You want to allow air out of the tires to a certain point. This provides better traction and comfort. I would research on the internet on what pressure for your tire size and vehicle.
Looks like I could run this one in 2wd in my Z71. My friend has a lifted Ram on 37's but it's only 2wd and we plan to do some of the easier trails when we go to Moab this summer with our sons.
Know before you go, with that said check out our website to get a very high level of details about this trail. The link is in the video description or you can just search TrailsOffroad Chicken Corners
I live this trail. Near the end is a stone memorial with a metal sign. It's for the sheriff Richard Westwood. He was my great great grandfather and died, from falling off his horse and broke his neck. I visit yearly with my entire family to go and see it. I highly suggest this trail as a local and suggest anyone to try it.
Anymore, it seems to always be busy. Closer to late winter, or early spring, but snow can fall. Late fall/early winter is good too! A trick is to start early to beat the crowds- even if it's the busy season, which is how we do it.
Cool video! Would love to see more content like this from you guys. Your normal trail videos are great but sometimes they don't quite do the trails justice.
This is how you narrate a video. Clear directions, points of interest and no overbearing music. Nice drone video as well. Thanks. New subscriber.

Woah! Who are you, and what have you done with my normally informative, if not dry videos.... Just Kidding. GREAT vid.
Hahaha! Glad you enjoyed and thanks for watching!
Perfect timing. We are headed up through Colorado and into Utah at the end of May on a major overlanding trip and this is one of the trails on the list in the Moab area. Honestly one of the best videos you guys have posted thus far!
When are you coming throw Colorado to Moab?
Enjoy your trip and thanks for watching!
We did this in a 2014 Honda CRV AWD. Some bottom scraping, but it was fun. We didn’t lower the tire pressure to keep the ride height as high as possible.
sounds like a fun trip
From the parking spot at the end of the trail there is a short hiking trail that leads west around the corner for a different view. But it is VERY narrow with huge drop-offs.
That is one sketchy-looking hiking trail lol.
Great video guys! Thanks a bunch, I've been dreaming of doing Moab for years and you just inspired me to work harder on making it happen.
Moab is a great place! Our favorite times to go are spring and fall. It gets hot in the summer! Thanks for watching!
Amazing video, really takes me back to the first time I was shown this trail by Todd several years ago. Catacomb Rock is a must see on the trail. Can’t wait to check out the next video, the production is great!
Thank you for watching
This indeed look's like a O.P.S Trail 🤔 Old Pot Smoker's Trail 😊
Hahahaha, you have any documentation on that?

Thanks for that video. We will add this to our list for later this spring. What type radios are you using?
Thanks for watching! Mostly Baofeng UV-5Rs.
Amazing scenery!
The area really is. Thank you for watching
Amazing Work ✌️
Thanks for watching!
Can't wait. What's "airing down"?
You want to allow air out of the tires to a certain point. This provides better traction and comfort. I would research on the internet on what pressure for your tire size and vehicle.
Air back up again when you reach the pavement.
i love this place so much and drone shots is superb i put your on my featured channel one of your top fans now!
Awesome, thank you!
Wow 🔥🔥🔥
Thank you and thank you for watching
Wow, some great history. Thank you for watching
Beautiful video, well done! Can’t wait to check it out. What is the “not busy time” to go?
Anymore, it seems to always be busy. Closer to late winter, or early spring, but snow can fall. Late fall/early winter is good too! A trick is to start early to beat the crowds- even if it's the busy season, which is how we do it.
gree diamond motors are flathead international motors. that motor looked between 1938 and 1943
Yeah, some of the guys here need a little automotive history
Cool vid!
Thank you
Cool video! Would love to see more content like this from you guys. Your normal trail videos are great but sometimes they don't quite do the trails justice.
Thanks for the feedback! We completely agree with you - this is the direction we are working towards. Thanks for watching!
Loved this video. I've been looking at drones with cameras. Would you mind letting me know what you shot this with? Amazing!!!!
DJI Mavic 2 maybe pro I believe it was
