  • Sorry for the uhms and ahhs. This was my first time to do this kind of thing and I know I kinda fucked up on some parts and editing 4k videos was too stressful for my computer lol. anyway..
    So here's a video about drop tuning using your Zoom G5n Multi-effects processor. Specifically using the Pitch Shift pedal. There might be instances while playing live that you need to shift to a drop tune and you don't have another guitar with you, this will be useful.
    Stuff that I used:
    - Squier Stratocaster (Custom Built)
    - Zoom G5n Multi-Effects Processor
    - Focusrite Scarlet Solo
    - Presonus Eris 4.5
    - Cockos Reaper

    I use my G5n to detune when I play live with my band. As long as you don't go too far it sounds good.

      yup! helpful for scenarios where you play different tunings live instead of bringing a bunch of guitars but up to u really.

    I have a g1x four and it took me years to discover how easy it is to drop or raise tune in pitch shifter. Back the i have to tune the strings up or down which takes time, now it as simple as flipping a knob, well my bad 😁😁😁

      Thanks, Colin! Props to a friend back in Cebu. Saw him doing it with an old Korg AX3000g so I thought Zoom g5n could probably handle it. Turned out well.

      It's a great unit. Sad that they're no longer releasing new updates but I had a lot of fun with it touring locally. Hopefully I can come up with a handful more videos from it.

      @@guitartito7035 that's true of the updates .. but I think they would be thinking people are now used to the unit and the excitement went down and maybe they are or hope they are working on a better model with a better looper like the g5 where u can switch patches in the loop and ryhtm modes or atleast increase the blocks space for the rhythm and looper a bit..other than that this thing sounds really good … I see myself using this for the next two years before going for a line 6 helix sort of unit if zoom comes out with something … cheers , keep posting vids and ill be watching ..

    I saw a guitar cover of Vanguard by 12FootNinja using pitch shifter while on 6 string, standard E tuning and it sounds almost the same with the original. I wonder what tweaks did he do with his set up on the efx.

    Can the pedal chain in this processor be split before passing in the amp? Like if I have to make wider tones like using two amps one delayed after the other to create a wider tones... To create like a hard panned guitar / dual tracked guitars..... Can I do that in this processor?

  • @pjguitar15

    tito, advisable ba tong method to quickly drop to half step down tuning from standard?

    • @titomic
      @titomic 2 роки тому

      mas maganda pa rin tunog ng naka half step down na strings tapos sakto yung gauge tito. pero pag mabilisang switch to drop tunings oks na to

  • @eduardonelali
    @eduardonelali 3 роки тому +1

    Fine = 25? Doesn't that mean you detuned 25 cents?

    how low can u go?

    • @titomic
      @titomic 2 роки тому

      i guess 2 full steps down is reasonable. anything more than that becomes a garbled mess.

    • @heyimjoshnicetomeetya
      @heyimjoshnicetomeetya 2 роки тому +1

      I wouldn’t go past B Standard/Drop A with this (2 1/2 steps down)
