What I love about intermittent fasting and eating carnivor is the weight loss but how I feel is better than ever. No brain fog, feel great exercising, no sugar cravings. It's easy to stick with. My blood panels are beautiful ❤️ I'm in my 60's and my energy level is high.

i just got to say i love how Allie speaks now, slowly and much clear and peaceful for me to listen.. it's like a breath of fresh air. Thanks for the beautiful change ☺️
I’m a Christian and a carnivore. This way of eating has helped to reverse chronic illness that I’ve suffered with for 22 years. I was plant based for a while but my bones and teeth were paying the price for that way of eating.
Wow! had an ED for most of my 20’s and was vegetarian. At 31, after 3 years of trying to get pregnant with my husband, a fertility specialist told me I’d never get pregnant on my own. I started eating meat and drinking whole organic milk and got pregnant two months later… without assistance. I never made the connection! Great podcast!
I had multiple miscarriages being vegan/vegetarian 6 years ago. I’ve been on a mostly carnivore diet for over a year, got pregnant my husband and I’s first round of ‘try’, currently 37 weeks! 🙏🏼
@@Lb-ri5wr actually no we eat far more calories... Do you know how many calories are in protein and butter? 🤣 I grew up on a farm in South Georgia. I promise you the vast majority of cattle aren't abused. It kills more creatures to produce vegan products than actual animal products. But let me guess, you only care about the animals you can pet and not the animals in the soil and under the produce like insects, rabbits or birds.
@@carlywetherington6537 ah so your body goes against the laws of thermodynamics, gotcha. All cattle are abused, stabbing animals in the neck = Abuse. & Practically no animals die to farm vegan products, it's literally the equivalent of like a couple rats per year per million calories. Lucky animals have legs and can run away from danger
It’s so funny to see vegans and carnivores arguing bc you guys make the exact same claims (weight loss, cures every disease known to man, etc), when they’re both very cultish. Opposites but exactly the same in so many ways.
Loved this episode! ❤This is exactly how my husband and I eat at home. We source things as locally as we can from farmers near us. I truly believe our body is a temple on loan to us from God and it is so important to honor that by being a good steward of that while we are on earth 🙏🏻
Oh, yes! I just took up a plant-based diet a little over a month ago, so I was psyched to see this pop up on my home screen! I will first say I feel better, I'm getting way more variety of vitamins than I have my whole life, and have experienced quite some positive body changes, including my mental health, to make a long story short. I do want to make clear that a plant-based or vegan diet is NOT the same thing as veganISM. The movement is is a whole other thing in itself and I am NOT on board with all that. Some things they might have some good thoughts on, but as a whole, nope nope nope. But yes, I am so glad you are talking about this! It's been soooooo hard to find Christians who eat plant-based. I also found that there are so few resources out there when it comes to research on the biblical perspective of it. And I've even seen the story from Acts 10 used to defend that all food is clean, which is a terrible interpretation of that story. If you keep reading, Peter explains the meaning of the vision he had in Acts 10. It wasn't about food at all. Lol, but thank you for this episode! I'm clicking play now!
@amandabutt14 I do wish there were more vegan dieters within the Christian community. It IS hard to find others! Also, I watched the podcast after I posted this comment. I had a lot I needed to respond with, though. So, I left a new comment in the thread. Mainly because I felt the title was misleading as to what the conversation really ended up being about. Also, there was a lot of misinformation being put out there as to what a vegan diet is. I really thought she was bringing on a Christian vegan who was able to bring to the table what Scripture had to say as a whole regarding plant-based eating. Scripture says A LOT! But instead of a deep dive into Gen 9, for instance, Chelsea completely just used that one verse as a blanket statement to say God gave us animals to eat in addition to plants. I'm autistic, so when I first started this plant-based journey a month ago, my question was why did God add animals to begin with. But long story short, all vegetation had been destroyed in the flood. God still allowed for meat to remain an option we could add to our diet, but His original design was plants. It started that way, not just with us, but also with animals, and it's going to return that way. Scripture strongly suggests all of this. It's very fascinating to see the deeper we dig into God's word! So, yeah. I left a comment for Allie to plead our case more accurately. I'm just really sad that our diet as well as what Scripture teaches got set off to the back burner and what was talked about was from the shallow end of the pool.
@@SavedByGrace-oe1tsvery much agree that there was much misinformation here, and was sad to see that. Even some of the nutritional guidance was misleading and not current.
@SavedByGrace+oe1ts Thank you for clearing all that up!! I am a Christian and have been vegan/plant based for 3 years now and completely agree with everything you said. I could not watch past 16 minutes of the episode it was def misleading I thought she was a Christian vegan as well, but when she kept referring to Gen 9 was rough. It should be obvious that Gen 9 is after the fall and Gen 1 is what God intended. There is a few seventh day adventist doctors I have found on UA-cam they do a great job with explaining biblical eating plant based and how God intended that for us.
I just celebrated my 27th vegan anniversary yesterday. I am now 51 and enjoy excellent health, praise be to God. I am also pro-life, Christian, and conservative. Vegan isn't just a diet, it is a way to minimize harm to animals. That was why I stopped eating meat back in 1997. I think we all (especially as Christians) should strive to not be judgmental and presumptive about others. With regard to whether or not veganism is biblical, we know that God made an allowance for people to eat animals after the flood. We also know God's original design was that humans should eat seed-bearing plants, (Genesis 1:29). We also understand that God calls us to be good stewards of His creation and we know that in eternity, (Isaiah 11:6-9), "they will not hurt nor destroy on all my holy mountain". I love my friends and family who eat meat as much as I love my vegan friends and family. Peace to everyone.
For me it has been 15 years on a complete plant diet. I am 72 and still sing in Church. The movie: Forks Over Knives is very revealing, as is the book: The China Study. Plant eaters live 7-10 years longer. There won't meat in Heaven. I too respect everyone's decision, but it has blessed my life and health greatly to become a herbivore. God bless.@@susanmars797
@AngieW-ri6qx and how did Peter respond when God was testing him (Acts 10:13), saying "arise, kill, and eat"? Let's look at that passage in its entire context, shall we? I promise, I won't cherry pick. We see Peter going to the roof to pray and he falls asleep. He has a vision of a sheet of animals descending from the sky. The animals on the sheet are the ones that were considered unclean according to Jewish law. Then Peter hears God's voice instructing him to kill and eat the animals but Peter REFUSES on account of seeing the animals as unclean. But was this passage in Acts really about eating animals or that God doesn't see anybody as unclean and that salvation is not only for Jews but also Gentiles? In fact, later in the book of Acts, the vision becomes clear to Peter when he visits Cornelius (a Gentile, and rememeber Jews were forbidden to eat with Gentiles because Gentiles were seen as unclean) and explalins the vision within the text: “You are well aware that it is against our law for a Jew to associate with or visit a Gentile. But God has shown me that I should not call anyone impure or unclean” (Acts 10:28). So, you can accuse me of cherry picking all you want, but I would humbly suggest if you do so, you go to Scripture and read the entire context yourself. And by the way, I am well aware as I stated in my original post that God did in fact make "allowances" for man to eat animals, but whether or not that is God's ideal plan, judging from how things were set up in the beginning and what God has in store for us in eternity, I would venture to say, probably not. I'm only guessing here, I could be wrong, but then again, so could you. God bless.
4 months ago I went through a health crisis I am still healing from and struggling with….wow this episode blessed me so much. Thank you Chelsea (and Allie for having her on!) ❤❤
That book on fertility was a game changer for me! When I didn’t get pregnant the first 3-4 months of trying and began researching on how to increase my chances. I began changing diet and learning about my cycle was so helpful!
We have been completely plant-based now for 5 years. My husband had non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, kidney disease, and asthma. Within 6 months of cutting out all animal products, his liver, kidneys, and lungs were all ompletely well. He is still disease-free in those organs. We both are healthier and feel better than we have in years. I'm 66, and he's 73. No, you don't need meat to be healthy.
How do you know he wouldn’t have achieved those same results or better if he cut out all grains and other plant based foods, and only ate ruminant animals though? Unless he and you both tried eating that way for the same amount of time you wouldn’t know. I’m glad your husband found something that helped him but I’ve seen statements from many people who were vegans for many years and then their health started deteriorating. People will react differently to different things. Some people don’t do well being plant based while others do. Just like some people may not do well being carnivore and others thrive.
@@jseehowitsbeen3177 ditto :) its often about getting away from the process food and garbage BUT with plant based you have to supplement and the studies out there about bone density loss etc... want veggies fine but eat meat as the base :)
My dad (72) went plant based 7 years ago - cut out all processed foods, ate clean whole foods - vegetables, lentils, etc. He got his blood pressure under control, lost weight, got healthy. He did very well. But in the past year he started having memory problems and was constantly hungry. He recently went carnivore, and seems to have made massive improvements in his strength and clearness of mind. He says he’s so satisfied with the food now. Idk, I’ve tried eating plant-based, and I was always hungry and didn’t have energy. Eating lots of meat now and I no longer have issues with bloating, gas, and I have so much energy.
@plantbasedwithpeggy7682 How encouraging to hear! Would you be willing to share via a short conversation? I’m starting my clinical hours as part of my Nutrition license & would love to hear about NAFLD reversal. I follow a whole-food plant based lifestyle (almost 5 years), which prompted me to pursue a MS in Nutrition.
I’m a Christian and been eating WFPB vegan for 7 years. I eat unprocessed food, lots of lentils and beans for protein. I exercise daily and feel great, but it’s not one size fits all. Always loved looking to the Bible for nutrition advice.

I’m a Christian and a vegan. I haven’t eaten meat in 23 years (I was vegetarian for the first 17), and I’m objectively very healthy. I don’t judge those who eat meat (most of my friends and family do), and I appreciate not being judged for not eating it. It is possible to be healthy without meat, just like it’s possible to be healthy with meat. It’s also possible to be unhealthy without meat, and it’s possible to be unhealthy with meat. Having a healthy diet is a matter of getting the right nutrition for your body, which is going to be different for different people. In heaven we won’t eat meat, since there will be no death, so I’m just getting a head start 😉❤️
@@estherruth4692 The body can easily convert to DHA if you get enough flaxseed or algae. The only thing that should be supplemented is B12. But you can get it from fortified foods, which most people get it that way anyway. Even the cows we eat don't produce B12 because of the lack of cobalt in the soil now. The only reason animals have B12 is because we supplement them, then eat them. So either way, we supplement. But technically you can get B12 from plants, if you eat duckweed. It has Hyrdroxo, Adenosyl, and Methyl type cobalamin, no analogs. But being real, most of us in the west don't eat duckweed, nor do we want to. Everything else you can get from a proper vegan diet.
I was raised vegetarian and then went vegan - Whole Foods plant based & lifestyle. I couldn’t find a pro life vegan at the time and that’s when I realized vegans weren’t actually trying to cause the least suffering possible (because it’s a cult), then my health rapidly declined. I had skin issues, was underweight, infertile & unable to absorp nutrients. I started eating animal products 3 years ago and I’ve never been stronger, healthier, or more fertile - 30 weeks pregnant. Ancestral seasonal/local diet for the win!
I’m currently 37 weeks! Had multiple miscarriages being vegan/vegetarian. One year of being carnivore and got pregnant on our first round of ‘try’. Congrats!
I'm a Christian vegan from birth. There's many of us going back to the 1800's in US. All studies done on veganism in the US are done on this Christian population so I guess you didn't look too hard? I'm healthy, no infertility, no deficiencies. Never even had an infection, my whole life. A Vegan diet can be done well and does not equal being from the left.
definitely not a cult. :-P where on earth would that assumption come from. 5 years vegan, a healthy pregnancy, and zero health issues. not one shoe fits all people. lets all respect what others choose, instead of tearing people down who choose to live with compassion.
Allie thank you! I'm a huge fan of the show and this episode really spoke right to my heart. I had my 3rd baby about a year ago, it was a brutal pregnancy and recovery has been so tough. I also don't lose weight when breastfeeding and really struggle knowing what "healthy" is supposed to look like at this stage of life. This episode brought me a new perspective and what feels like "permission" to give myself grace in the body image department. When it comes to postpartum recovery I just need to take a breath and do the next right this for the glory of God. Thank you for all you do.
I've just come through a nutrition plan to cleanse my liver and digestive system. My husband and I did this cleanse together. I reacted differently to the reintroduction of some foods than my husband. I appreciate this nutritionist's gentle guidance! We are all different AND, we've all engaged in poor eating habits so our "repair" routine needs to address our unique deficiencies. There is no such thing as a one size fits all diet.
It is neat to see how many plant based Christians have responded to this. It’s nice to know we are out there! God made us to eat plants, but allowed us to eat meat. It’s a choice for sure- but I feel great about my decision. Vegetarian almost my whole life and vegan for 7 years. I also want to say that just because vegans should supplement some things doesn’t mean it’s not a healthy way of life. Omnivores need to be mindful and supplement when needed as well.
I’ve been struggling with infertility for 8+ years and when she said (6:13) “God made our bodies to work for us, not against us” I lost it!! Thank you so much for this great episode!
Carnivore for over 4+years Meat some cheese and salt and water and back to my prime body weight and feeling of my 20s and 30s in my 60s now :) Its also about feeling young and looking young and NOT having to supplement with other things and fixing almost every metabolic problem I had :) TRY IT :) give it 6 months or at least 3 months I did try plant based and was the worst thing ever so do have experience with both sides
Began with keto about 3 years ago. About a year later, keto-vore. The last year, full-on carnivore. I am down to high-school weight, energy ++, better sleep,... I could go on! Will be 71 this year🎉
Same here! I’m 65 and have been on keto but more on the carnivore side for 7 months. I was overweight, sluggish, joints ached, had terrible insomnia, and HTN. I lost over 15 lbs (which was my goal), sleeping better, have a lot of energy (walk over 5 miles a day), BP has lowered and joint pain is gone. This lifestyle is the best health related decision ever.

I read some of these comments and just wanted to say I wholeheartedly enjoyed this episode! I love learning about nutrition and a healthy lifestyle through a biblical lense. I too started milling all of our flour at home over a year ago based soley on a talk I heard (from Sue Becker) about the health benefits and because thats how bread was eaten in the Bible (as intended). I am a meat eater for sure and I notice when I dont get enough protein my blood sugar and hormones seeem to get out of whack. I get extreme fatigue and migraine headaches etc. I also lift weights regularly, so I have been trying to shoot closer to the one gram of protein per pound of ideal body mass as she mentioned. Its SO hard for me, but I notice my energy is much better when I at least try! Just thankful to hear an expert that praises God for ALL the good, clean foods He provided for us. It is so refreshing!
I did my own research on fertility and became pregnant within 2-3 months after 8 years of infertility. All God willing! My son will be here in early April.
We primarily eat deer meat and rarely buy chicken or beef from the store. My husband and I harvest deer during the season enough to last until the next. Deer meat is very lean, and all we do is pair it with veggies for a healthy protein rich meal.
The Bible didn’t introduce meat eating until after Adam and Eve sinned. Once it was introduced it became acceptable; however, the torture inflicted upon animals in factory farms does not seem to be something that God would sanction. The treatment of workers in factory farms is also deplorable. And the antibiotics injected into animals does not seem to be conducive to health.
Totally agree with you! There is that fact, that eating meat didn't happen until after Adam sinned. There is also the fact that Daniel and his friends ate vegetables instead of meat, and were the healthiest ones in the palace. But what I dislike most of all, is when people seem to associate Christianity with eating meat; it leaves a huge taste as tho the God of Christianity cares less about animals. Why would I want to embrace that kind of God?
@@alethiacharis2480You should continue to think about that. If you read Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy… carefully you will understand that the Bible says God required so many animal sacrifices daily. One reason they had the priests was because animal sacrifices was a full time job-they did it all day. Short answer, sin resulted in an imperfect world that requires less than perfect solutions. Sin has a penalty-it is a very serious thing to God. The sacrifices were a daily reminder that this animal should have been me. But even that reminder wasn’t enough. Jesus had to die. Things won’t be perfect till He takes us home. The ground is severely lacking in nutrients. That wouldn’t have been the case in the Garden of Eden. Just as animal sacrifices were a provision from God, we can humbly see them as a provision today.
One doesn’t have to buy conventional meat. You can buy organic grass fed/ free range meat. You can even buy from local farmers. Eating meat doesn’t have to mean growth hormones, antibiotics, and inhumane treatment.
You should support regenerative farms then. Watch Joel Saladin being interviewed on his farm. He’s a Christian who shows how beautiful the life is for the animals on his farm- the hogs, the cows, the sheep, the chickens- they all have a purpose and work together to enrich the soil and bring it back since it is being stripped by monocrop culture. These animals have beautiful idyllic lives full of purpose and then they have a second of pain before the end, and they nourish our bodies with the best protein possible for us to flourish.
@estherruth4692 if you think about it, tho, it's still feeding your body with dead flesh; instead of living foods. That's how people get parasites and cancer 🙃 I can't imagine how God would have created living beings that actually needed to kill other living beings in order to survive. That makes us basically... parasites🤪
I loved the balanced approach from both ladies! Most of this info is exactly what I’ve gathered from learning about nutrition “on my own”. I definitely got help from the info about sitting down to eat. That’s such a common struggle for anyone with young children or a fast paced life. A tiny perspective from personal experience is that I truly believe I benefited from a brief time period of eating smaller meals. I was extremely malnourished from an auto immune disease and read that it could help healing and it definitely seemed to benefit me sustaining energy. But like she said, there’s a time and place for “extreme” diets. :) I know some folks with food sensitivities that used a strict gluten, dairy, sugar, etc free diet just to heal and then built back up. Great interview!
"Proteins are nutrients made up of one or more chains of amino acids, which are essential to the structure, function and regulation of every cell in your body." "Plant protein can meet protein requirements when a variety of plant foods is consumed and energy needs are met, Research indicates that an assortment of plant foods eaten over the course of a day can provide all essential amino acids and ensure adequate nitrogen retention..." "Plant proteins have a healthier composition and balance of essential amino acids, one that has been elegantly balanced by nature in a way that inherently protects us from inflammation and tumor growth."
The question is: are people/vegans eating that full range? How many fruits and vegetables? Which combinations? When I was a vegan (eating healthy, no processed vegan garbage), it was a full-time job trying to eat everyday. I always felt hungry and that I was missing something. I was eating all day long to no avail.
I resonate sooo much to your description of your meals and being a Mom to toddlers/infants. I’ve been trying so hard to meal plan since going back to work, but sometimes I too forget to defrost the meat. 🤷♀️
Sickness comes from diseased animals and our crops have toxic stuff sprayed on them like glyphosate which disrupts our microbiome causing leaky gut for one.
Going vegan healed many health problems for me and my mum! And I absolutely hate the whole industry behind meat and dairy, I find it heartbreaking how animals are treated :( Very grateful for my way of eating (whole foods, lots of fresh fruits)!! 🤍🙏🏼
do not like if animals are treated bad either but its not the norm and again agriculture EVERYTHING is killed to protect it and its the largest polluter to our surface water in the USA Agriculture is way worse sadly Look up Rodenticides that is just ONE thing used to kill small animals just to protect crops and its a horrid death for them and their babies and when you see what agriculture does to animals that is heart breaking to poison them to death Go to a mono crop farm and notice NOTHING is alive all the insects all the birds all the rodents all dead to save the crops all the way up to larger animals Also many other animals then eat the poisoned ones and die I So do not fall for the my side is ethical and nothing dies its all natural its not even close Not saying to stop what makes you happy and you feel is good for you but open the eyes and see the truth to it is all :) From bird life international According to one conservative estimate, 672 million birds in the USA are directly exposed each year to pesticides on farmland
So what Abt the ppl who can't go vegan? Did you consider them before you condemn the meat industry? Y'all have this false sense of right when y'all think y'all above certain and it's weird. Did you know before Jesus died you had to sacrifice animals 😮😮😮😮😮😮😮 you not gonna be a Christian again?
This was so good, her information is so similar to Mindy Pelz Fast Like a Girl. So good to hear others say to eat meat & veggies for each has a important roll in our nutrition. Also so important to know how God made our bodies to function!! Really enjoyed this!
Been a vegetarian for over 40yrs and almost never go to a Dr, only had anitibiotics a handful of times, pregnancy, birth and breastfeeding was easy and my kids also very rarely visit Drs - big pharma must have made less money out of me and my family than 99% of the population. My kids visited the Drs so rarely they had no memory of the previous visit and they got to adulthood with maybe 1 prescription from the Dr
The original diet was the “Daniel diet”: nuts, seeds, legumes, grains, fruits & vegetables. It’s right there in Genesis and reinforced again in Daniel chap. 1.
The original diet was in the garden. We are not in the garden . Adam and Eve were initially created to live forever. After the flood God gave us meat to eat. Look at the Jewish diet. Daniels diet was not about what he ate. It was to separate them from the culture they were living in.
I have eaten a vegetarian, whole food diet and a carnivore diet, many years apart. I got very sick and was malnourished eating vegetarian, but healed multiple issues with my body and had so much energy on carnivore. I now eat a relatively clean meat-based diet but also include fruits and vegetables because I missed them. I will never eat only vegetarian or vegan again. It was also a lot more work trying to make sure my body was getting what it needed and I still failed at it.
@@RaeBehrs I know. It’s fair to make that deduction. I just wish it was specifically mentioned in the Gospels or something. If it was mentioned, then I would be able to say that definitively. Like Saint John the Baptist for example, lived a life like an angel, while he was still on earth. He didn’t drink alcohol and was eating grasshoppers and honey, as far as we know.
@@odetafecani1614 The law specifically states to consume all of the sacrifice before the sun comes up. We all know He followed the law, so yes He ate lamb.
That's kind of how I look at food and health as well, we need to eat both animals and plants to thrive. We also need good sleep, sunlight, nature, movement, relaxation, etc. It's all about balance.
Vegan for 18 years now. My wife also. My older kids of 25 and 23 are too. My younger two, 8 and 6, since they were born. No issues, all active. Blood tests are great every time. Meat is a supplement for those who have no plant sources. Plant diet is the original God's design.
@Kwildcat13 You shouldn't speak for everyone. It maybe "basically all" your life, but not mine. I live in USA now, and have access to every imaginable fruit year around. We even have a president who is a vegetable. So not everybody's lacking plant based nutrients.
@vladvalentinov true but it gave humans freedom to decide what worked best for their unique situation and body chemistry. I was vegan for a year in my younger years. Got really sick and nearly died. On the other hand, I have a good friend who used to get really sick when she ate meat. Veganism works well for her, and being an omnivore works for me. We respect each other's choices and unique situations. After the fall, humans became mortal. We became subject to sickness and death as our body chemistry most likely changed. After the flood, I suspect the whole environment changed, and we had to adapt in different ways. Eating meat may have been one of those ways for some.
Absolutely appreciate this conversation and I think that it has really answered a lot of the questions and doubts that I've had from listening to so many sources on UA-cam about what is the BEST diet to follow and I absolutely agree with Chelsea that God gave us the animal kingdom and the plant kingdom for our overall body nutrition and there is Scripture to back this up.
I’m a Christian Vegan for 5 years now. While I disagree with some of what she’s saying regarding my own knowledge of nutrition in conjunction with the Bible, I respect her right to her opinion and appreciate not being judged. I’m surprised she went to oils for healthy fats instead of Whole Foods such as olives, nuts, seeds, coconuts, avocados, etc.
In September my husband and started keto. We mainly eat meat and low carb veggies. We occasionally add low carb tortillas. I lost 46 lbs. and my husband about 35. We started this because he is type 2 diabetic and his glucose levels were starting to get really high to the point I really thought he would need insulin. We monitor his glucose religiously. He now has normal range blood sugar. We feel great and I make some very tasty meals. There are tons of recipes on line and I have altered old favorites to fit a low carb regime.
I've been mostly vegan since 1980 and i love my foods. I just couldn't eat dead flesh. Meat was given after the flood because there wasn't any food to eat yet. I don't care what people eat. I would never say eat only vegetarian or only eat meat or only eat both.
I love how many carnivores are making comments about how they are doing well eating meat! I have been on a carnivore diet for 4 years. The autoimmune disease I once had is now in remission. Plus a plethora of other benefits. Staying on the carnivore diet keeps me healthy so I can live out God’s purpose in my life.
I wish you would invite a 7th day Adventist to talk about veganism. It's getting tiresome that being vegan is labeled as liberal when we've been doing it for centuries and we're conservative people. You'd be surprised if you open your horizons and search not to confirm a bias but to really see if there's information out there that can sometimes trump what we believe.
For seventh day Adventists, what you eat is almost a matter of salvation. Their “prophetess” Ellen White wrote so many things on that topic which the Bible calls doctrines of demons. I would strongly suggest to anyone to stay away from the SDA because it is a dangerous cult out of which God rescued me.
7th day Adventistism is centuries old? News to me. I’m pretty sure veganism never existed before we had a reliable chemical B12 source invented a few decades ago. Except in the garden of Eden. But our physiology has changed since death entered the world.
Wait till you learn that the 7ths lied about diet. They got the food pyramid set the way it is and we are fatter and sicker than ever. We aren't meant to eat only plants
The Good Ranchers commercial is all I need to see to know what these people are promoting. I think the important thing to remember is that Paul said whatever you eat or don't eat do it all to the Glory of God. Meat is not a requirement to be a Christian nor is being Vegan or Paleo or anything else. All that is required is to confess that Jesus is Lord and died on the cross for our sins.
I like so much of this, but once we start counting grams of anything, I'm checking out! Don't want to count! Been healthier mentally and physically since I left all that behind.
I counted grams for a short time because I needed to lose weight and I just wanted to check my portions but I don't do it now. It can be good if you know you need to lose a bit of weight to help get portion control sorted out but yeah I can't be bothered with it long term. Life is too short!
Can’t wait to hear this. I’m a Christian and have come to realize full carnivore makes my body feel best. Plant based diet made me very sick. I don’t believe God wants that. The optimal human diet is one with animal products and bioavailable protein.
My body also does not do well without meat. Balance and moderation. We are responsible to take care of our temple. No judging since all of us are different. God bless you!
@@megantaylor6273you don’t have to buy fancy grassfed and pastured. That is optimal but not necessary. There are 9 of us in our house. We eat a lot of eggs, chicken (it’s cheaper) and ground beef.

Add berries, kale, even dandelion and purslane (growing in a safe place), good probiotics and oils (like avocado), blend and go. My morning staple.
We're not supposed to judge each others on this. Rather you are pro veggie or steak. Lol Here's what the word of God says Romans 14:3 3 The person who will eat anything is not to despise the one who doesn't; while the one who eats only vegetables is not to pass judgment on the one who will eat anything; for God has accepted that person.
A whole foods, plant based diet has solved every health problem I have. Sure, I love the taste of meat but my body heals quickly and I feel better from eating veggies
I had the opposite experience. I very time I try to eat a plant - even spices - I have inflammation like crazy. Animal products are the only ones I can tolerate and be healthy and youthful. 🤷♀️ Thank God for providing for every person exactly what they need. ❤️

We’ve done research for my husband who has slight heart disease… A low score of calcium, and we have seen time and again reports that no oil, no animal anything can literally reverse heart disease… Or change your numbers dramatically… What do you recommend for people with heart disease a person in their 60s?
First of all I appreciated this podcast. Great, helpful information I think there are great things all listeners can take away! Taking care of our bodies with good nutrition and movement is so important so we can show up to love and serve others well! Wowzer...reading some of the comments it is apparent people are really passionate about their diets, I even sense some idolatry in the means of eating expressed in the comments, food/appearance has definitely been an idol in my life...reading some of the comments under this podcast I am thinking, hmmm if we as the body of Christ were as passionate about loving each other more than our food ideologies and about sharing the good news of Jesus with a lost and dying world imagine that...Scripture teaches our ways of eating do not save us, they do not make us more holy or acceptable to God, food rules do not conquer our sinful flesh...only the righteousness of Christ in exchange for our sin, which He alone accomplished for us on the cross, makes us acceptable and He alone gives us our identity, not our "food camps"...the Kingdom of God is not eating or drinking but righteousness, joy and peace in the Spirit, this coming from within and toward others...bottom line feeding on God's Word, prayer, being willing to repent of our lack of love for Him and others, and asking Him for strength and wisdom in every area of life, even how we eat, to live in ways that will honor and glorify Christ is the most important thing...first and most spiritually nourish yourself with the Bible, seek His guidance and live for Him, not how you eat.
I am 58, mother of 3 grown daughters. I have Hashimotos and a nutritionist has indicated that I need to avoid estrogen in my diet. She wants me to exclude chicken and beef because of the high estrogen content. Fish is acceptable, and I eat plenty of wild caught fish. I also do not eat gluten because it affects my joints significantly. I only hope that I'm doing the right things.
It’s actually incorrect to say people that don’t eat meat are not getting enough protein. I would suggest people watch Forks over Knives to understand this better. Also, while I respect this guest, her husband is a cattle farmer therefore she has an interest in meat production for food.
@@Eds1422 actually she’s not right about meat is the only source of protein, plants have protein and a plant based diet provides sufficient protein. There are plenty of professional athletes that prove that.
@debm3716 no, I didn’t hear her say meat is the ONLY source of protein- just that we are lacking. Plant proteins are incomplete proteins- but it can be a great and healthy lifestyle.
When she explains the nutrients in meat and plants she does not say plants have protein. And what does incomplete protein even mean. Protein is found in plants and we don’t need as much protein as people think.
I loved this interview very intuitive and science backed - i eat meat based cut out most veggies had alot of stomach issues - non tolerant to soy!!and sugar and processed foods- i was diagnosed with an autoimmune liver disease - it has gotten my enzymes back to normal and my hdl and triglycerides in the best range c ever- ldl is higher but its not the best marker according to new research for health - thank you all so much -

It's interesting to watch this and read the comments on this video as an Orthodox Christian. On the one hand, seeing evangelical Protestants talk about the intersection of our eating habits and our faith gets me optimistic that they'll slowly but surely turn to the one true church. But when I see so much of the discussion revolve around trendy, secular or New Age diets like veganism or gluten free, or when I see a lot of misguided attempts to emulate Old Testament dietary laws, I'm reminded to temper my expectations.
Gluten free isn't a new age diet, really. It's simply just opting out of consuming the highly refined, fiberless, over-processed, emulsifier-filled starches that are directly correlated to leaky gut syndrome, irritable bowel syndrome, and autoimmune inflammation disease. American bread gives me diarrhea.
" but we ought always to give thanks for you brethren beloved by the Lord because GOD CHOSE YOU ( you didn't choose Him), as the first fruits to be saved through sanctification by the Spirit and faith in the Truth" ,2nd Thess 2:13
I had severe autoimmune issues. All put in remission when I went full carnivore. If people can eat plants and feel great, that’s great for them. It just isn’t true for all of us. I do think all humans need meat products. Carbohydrates and fiber are NOT necessary.
I've tried but so difficult when feeding a family and so many snax in the house 😢 how long did it take for you to notice a change. I'm currently in a flare up and turning to carbs for quick treats, I know it's bad but it's easy 🥴
29:55 The discussion about our ancestors and eating tallow and butter. True but if you look at life expectancy (if you care about living a LONG and healthy life -our ancestors did not have a long life) there is a lot of data that supports the less animal products you eat one lives longer and healthier. Now granted, the lifestyle our ancestors endured was much different than ours and had many more mitigating circumstances, that can't be completely blamed on diet. The point is that is not a great resource or argument to use to support high animal intake. I think the KEY take away is the fat carb ratio!!
Actually some ancestors from the Bible especially Old Testament, lived way longer lives. But yes our ancestors from few centuries ago didn’t live long lives, but that’s also because of lack of access to healthcare, antibiotics, modern medicine etc.
@@odetafecani1614 Agreed however remember the mana in the wilderness? They kept begging for meat and God sent them quail until they choked on it. I am not arguing an exclusive plant based life style. Just pointing out the arguments need to well rounded. The data that I have read about with T collin Campbell and Dr Esselstyn claims eating plant based has great health benefits and if you do eat animal protein keep it to 30% or less and the "Ancestors" I was referring to were the ones she was referring to - not as far back as biblical
Actually, the variable that causes life expectancy to go down when it comes to eating meat is if you carbonize (grill or sear or bbq) the meat. This is a carcinogen, acrylamide. So really, its about the meat prep more than the meat in and of itself that causes death long-term consumption.
Garden of Eden was the original, best plan. We got kicked out, but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t strive for that excellent diet. We sin, but we still strive to be like Jesus.
I love and appreciate this broadcast. My Dad played heavy sports and studied nutrition. He always said" you have to eat meat, tbey have essential amino acids. " I love how everyone on here doesnt seem to want to listen to God or how He created us. They say just listen to your body. Sometimes our bodies deceive us. Seek the Lord and what His word has already revealed. Its that easy.
i have been eating carnivore for two years now and feel my best self, just meat and butter. some spices are now okay, coffee daily no problem, but too much dairy wine and vinegar will cause an insulin reaction, weirdly.
I wish that Allie Beth would have a Christian Vegan to bring a different perspective. But I guess Good Rancher may no longer want to sponsor the show? Vegan here for 5 years. God gave us meat due to the fall. His intent was for us to never to eat meat. You can get all of your protein, amino acids etc from the earthen foods.
He also meant for us to be naked, but you don't see anybody walking around naked all the time. Saying that God's intention was for us to only eat fruits and veggies is a weak argument, if we throw the nakedness in there. Plus, just cuz God told man to eat the fruits and veggies in the garden doesn't mean he never intended man to eat meat.
Yes & Amen! I believe after the flood, there were no plants to eat for a while so God allowed meat, but it wasn’t the original, ideal plan. And meat then was nothing like what we eat today in quality nor quantity.
@@jenifunderburk3978 Actually it is the plants that have changed the most, with human hybridization, and GMO. Fruit is basically candy now, due to the extreme concentration of sugar through selective hybridization and broccoli as well as other vegetables didn't even exist until recently.
@philw9120 you are correct that humans have done lots of bad things to alter our food supply. Especially when animals of today are kept in tight quarters, fed grains & other “foods” to fatten them (not grass for cows) given hormones to make them grow faster, until they are so fat they collapse bc their legs can’t hold them up, antibiotics, vaccines, etc to keep them alive under the terrible conditions etc. they are a prime source of saturated fat & cholesterol (heart disease is our #1 killer) and have zero fiber. And the toxins in their muscles accumulate & are concentrated in the muscle tissues we eat. The worst food adulteration may be all the highly processed “food like substances” we now eat with little to no nutrition or fiber (i.e. chips, cookies, pizza, etc.) whole, organic plants foods may be our best options for human consumption. But, I don’t know. It’s just what worked for me to loose 100lb, lower my cholesterol & blood pressure to healthy levels while feeling much better in my body & my energy levels. I also got off antidepressants. Certainly, we are far removed from Eden at this point.
I was vegan for over ten years and it made me so sick I shudder to think about it. The worst was the slow intellectual decline… terrifying. I ate a bison burger one day and it was like plugging my brain back into a socket.
If you ate a well balanced vegan diet it cannot make you sick. What people call vegan is not necessarily healthy, I've know plenty of sick vegans like you that weren't eating a healthy diet. Meat literally rots in your colon, it doesn't cause you to thrive.
@@vela-6Ridiculous, "trying a raw diet", What do you think humans were born to eat? Cooked food? The 25 plus year raw vegans I know are thriving, I am mostly raw and I never get sick and look 10 years younger than my age. The fact that you think fresh raw produce will destroy a human being 😂
Same thing happened to me. Could not get pregnant for 5 years and went to a holistic doctor who straightened me out Skinny is out. Strong is in and healthy.
I mill my own wheat and make bread, and it’s great! I don’t limit my carbs, I don’t count calories or grams of anything. Joseph stored grain in Egypt to save his family and all the Egyptians :)
“Genetically modified” does not mean poor quality. It means those crops were sprayed with glyphosate: Roundup ready crops. Also wheat(non GMO), that’s in everything we eat, is often desiccated pre-harvest with glyphosate. That means sprayed directly on the part we eat.
In late middle age, we absolutely need more protein than the rda. In our 40s we begin to lose 1% of our muscle mass each year. I’ve noticed, as 58 year old man, that when I bumped up protein to 90-100 grams my muscles grew without working out. #anecdote
Carnivore eating is the healthiest thing I have ever done, in combination with exercise, my weight, immune system, gut health, skin, energy, strength have all improved from carnivore eating.
@@ParadigmStages That is propaganda that you obviously bought into, the food pyramid is a bought and paid for lie. Cholesterol is not all bad, it's essential for health.
Thanks for many quality tips and concepts. Having studied nutrition at the molecular level, it's very easy to get all the amino acids as vegetarians. That's per nutritionists. But we do need to learn to do that. What's often lacking from vegetarian and low seafood diets are: B12 Iron Iodine (especially vegans) Also, historically, hunter, gatherers didn't eat meat daily. I do agree that the Biblical diet is suppoted by science. Its just not likely they were heavy meat eates which is common in our current cultures
I love thay she brought up the fact that we need to let our digestive system rest. I started doing this and it really helped with my sleep and Ulcerative colitis. However she uses a lot of vague recommendations like "eat with the sun". For the Isrealites this was ideal because of where they're located along the equator. That doesn't work for those of us that live in the Nordics where the sun is out for 22 hours in the summer and 4 hours in the winter. This where I think she is "thinking biblicallly" in ways it really wasn't meant to. We can't all live out our day the way the isrealites did because we don't live in thay climate, have the same amount of daylight hours, and so forth. I also find it odd that she used the example of 3 cups of quinoa to 3 oz of meat and saying "which sounds easier"? Quinoa while having a decent amount of plant based protein, isn't the only one. By mixing grains and legumes you get all of the essential amio acids and by eating a varied diet throughout your day a person easily gets enough protien. For example a smoothie or yogurt with nuts and seeds thrown in. At lunch a bowl with rice or quinoa, beans, and a mixture of veggies. At dinner having again some kind of stew with lentils, a mixture of vegetables, served with rice and a salad. Eating plant based simply means pulling from differnet protein sources with every meal instead of relying on that main serving at lunch or dinner. Its really not as complicated as she makes it sound. But now to a biblical based point. I think something to be aware of is that simply because God allows something does not equate we must do that thing. God does allow for the consumption of meat however that doesn't mean that we therefore must eat meat. I believe a person can be healthy eating meat in small amounts but more and more studies show that the standard western diet relyig heavily on dairy, meat and eggs is making our bodies sick. We need to eat a varied diet rich in grains, legumes, fruits, and vegetables as well. Just my thoughts
I feel to remember that meat in the times of yeshua was clean meat - it didn’t come from the ‘killing factories ‘ of todays trends - so if meat IS chosen - it’s important to source clean, quality meat - without the toxic chemicals used in animal husbandry 🙏🏽
I think going carnivore can be a great elimination diet, done for anywhere from 2-6 months, maybe longer if your body needs more healing. Even veganism might be a good elimination diet for some people. But I’ve always thought that God made plants for us to eat and also gave us animals. I have several digestive issues and probably have some undiagnosed autoimmune problems too and I really notice what my body feels like when I eat certain things. I feel better eating less sugar and sweets, no gluten, little to no grains, fewer vegetables, more high quality protein and more animal fats. Becoming aware that I was and still am addicted to certain things like sugar and grains has been a struggle.
I have very severe reaction to grains (and dairy) and eliminated them for more than one year. All of my health issues disappeared, severe migraines, eczema, acne, depression, arthritus.. all gone. I began baking with Einkhorn flour recently and can tolerate it very well. I missed bread so much. Einkhorn is an ancient grain. Maybe this will work for you if you want to try eating bread again.
Ali you are the perfect candidate for meal prepping. So basically cooking the meals for the week ahead on a Sunday, saves time, money and guessing what to cook for your family. I also see some women cook meals to last 1 month, so like you freeze the meals in containers.
I was vegan for years. I’m scared at the thought of continuing that harmful path and going through pregnancy. Of course the human body adapts enough to survive but no one on that diet is thriving.
I’ve been vegan since 2014 and had an incredibly easy pregnancy, labor, & delivery with my exclusively breastfed son who is now thriving at 1 year old 😊

wow, you ate less calories and lost weight, you can do this eating plants and not have to pay people to torture animals to death in the process
@@Lb-ri5wr actually no we eat far more calories... Do you know how many calories are in protein and butter? 🤣 I grew up on a farm in South Georgia.
Love seeing comments like this!!! I’ve been for 6 years as well and sometimes I feel like I’m the only one
Glad I’m not 😅
@amandabutt14 I do wish there were more vegan dieters within the Christian community.
Thank you! And to be fair, Allie needs a Christian vegan on here.
@@SavedByGrace-oe1tsvery much agree that there was much misinformation here, and was sad to see that. Even some of the nutritional guidance was misleading and not current.
@SavedByGrace+oe1ts
Thank you for clearing all that up!!

Respectfully, more living creatures are harmed and killed due to agriculture than raising animals for consumption...especially pasture raised animals.
God bless.

You supplement though, right? It’s so important to get B12! And DHA, and some of the other essentials that can’t be obtained from plant food.
Exactly my beliefs. Well said.
@@estherruth4692 yes, I take a daily multivitamin that includes B12 😊

I started eating animal products 3 years ago and I’ve never been stronger, healthier, or more fertile - 30 weeks pregnant. Ancestral seasonal/local diet for the win!
I’m a pro-life vegan! And not in a cult haha. We’re out there ☺️ Glad you figured out what diet works for you.
@@shevegan4302 Exactly!
definitely not a cult. :-P where on earth would that assumption come from. 5 years vegan, a healthy pregnancy, and zero health issues. not one shoe fits all people. lets all respect what others choose, instead of tearing people down who choose to live with compassion.
I’m a Christian and a carnivore…. I’m 58 and never felt better!! 🙏🏻🥰❤️
I asked my husband this exact question when I read Genesis last year for the first time as an adult! So happy to see this here!
Carnivore for over 4+years
Meat some cheese and salt and water and back to my prime body weight and feeling of my 20s and 30s in my 60s now :)
Its also about feeling young and looking young and NOT having to supplement with other things and fixing almost every metabolic problem I had :)
TRY IT :) give it 6 months or at least 3 months
I did try plant based and was the worst thing ever so do have experience with both sides
I had the opposite experience. Tried only meat. Totally wrecked me. Switched to plant-based in 2017 and have never felt better.

What did you find in your research? Can you share?
so, share what you found and tried
Congrats mama!!!
What did you learn?
YES! Thank you for sharing factual science & not opinions.

Wonderful podcast! Very helpful ❤
Going vegan healed many health problems for me and my mum! And I absolutely hate the whole industry behind meat and dairy, I find it heartbreaking how animals are treated :( Very grateful for my way of eating (whole foods, lots of fresh fruits)!! 🤍🙏🏼
do not like if animals are treated bad either but its not the norm and again agriculture EVERYTHING is killed to protect it and its the largest polluter to our surface water in the USA
Agriculture is way worse sadly
Look up Rodenticides that is just ONE thing used to kill small animals just to protect crops and its a horrid death for them and their babies
and when you see what agriculture does to animals that is heart breaking to poison them to death
Go to a mono crop farm and notice NOTHING is alive all the insects all the birds all the rodents all dead to save the crops all the way up to larger animals
Also many other animals then eat the poisoned ones and die
I
So do not fall for the my side is ethical and nothing dies its all natural its not even close
Not saying to stop what makes you happy and you feel is good for you but open the eyes and see the truth to it is all :)

Interesting that Jesus didn’t eat that way, though… 🤔
Daniel didn’t diet, he made a resolve not to eat the Babalonian kings food.
Even Jesus ate meat. He ate fish and lamb.
We don’t know if he had lamb from strict accounts of the gospel. Just fish. Right?
@@odetafecani1614 he celebrated Passover every single year. The passover meal includes lamb.

Yes, you are correct. Meat eating did not occur until after the fall.
@Kwildcat13 You shouldn't speak for everyone. It maybe "basically all" your life, but not mine. I live in USA now, and have access to every imaginable fruit year around. We even have a president who is a vegetable. So not everybody's lacking plant based nutrients.
This was true until after the great flood. After that, the Lord permitted them to eat "clean" animals
@@delainrj7 Permission (post flood) doesn't equate with recommendation (pre flood).
Besides, look at the evidence - me, and panda bears :o)
Wow, such An Interesting podcast I wish this would be in Spanish for my non English speakers friends, thank you ❤ God bless.
I would love to hear her thoughts and tips on nutrition for growing children...especially young children and teens
My husband applauds this!!!😊
I wish you would invite a 7th day Adventist to talk about veganism.
I prefer to eat my food first hand not through animals.
Can’t wait to hear this. I’m a Christian and have come to realize full carnivore makes my body feel best. Plant based diet made me very sick. I don’t believe God wants that. The optimal human diet is one with animal products and bioavailable protein.
100% facts👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
My body also does not do well without meat. Balance and moderation. We are responsible to take care of our temple. No judging since all of us are different. God bless you!
How does one afford a fully carnivore diet? Do you have any tips on how you make it affordable?
@megantaylor6273 you can look up carnivore on a budget. Or even look at going keto, which can be healthy for a lot of people
@@megantaylor6273you don’t have to buy fancy grassfed and pastured. That is optimal but not necessary. There are 9 of us in our house. We eat a lot of eggs, chicken (it’s cheaper) and ground beef.

Excellent advice from from a knowledge source.
Allie, I suggest adding protein smoothies to your morning. You can get high quality protein powder. Organic bone broth with 21 G protein per serving (Purepath brand). Add berries, kale, even dandelion and purslane (growing in a safe place), good probiotics and oils (like avocado), blend and go. My morning staple.
We're not supposed to judge each others on this. Rather you are pro veggie or steak. Lol Here's what the word of God says
Romans 14:3
3 The person who will eat anything is not to despise the one who doesn't; while the one who eats only vegetables is not to pass judgment on the one who will eat anything; for God has accepted that person.
Exactly!
A whole foods, plant based diet has solved every health problem I have. Sure, I love the taste of meat but my body heals quickly and I feel better from eating veggies

I’m so happy you’re spreading the truth about the diet that’s best for us! Chew the cud & have split hooves, scales & fins!
It’s actually incorrect to say people that don’t eat meat are not getting enough protein. I would suggest people watch Forks over Knives to understand this better. Also, while I respect this guest, her husband is a cattle farmer therefore she has an interest in meat production for food.
Exactly. Thanks.
I do think she’s right, but that’s a great documentary as is Cowspiracy. We need to get the production under control.

@@mary-annmckay4465 I appreciate your response and your opinion. God bless
This is great!
I was vegan for over ten years and it made me so sick I shudder to think about it. The worst was the slow intellectual decline… terrifying. I ate a bison burger one day and it was like plugging my brain back into a socket.
But what kind of a vegan were you?
I felt the same way!!
I'm going to assume you were trying a "raw" diet, because yes that will destroy your body and mind. Or you were just a junk food vegan?
Could not get pregnant for 5 years and went to a holistic doctor who straightened me out
Skinny is out. Strong is in and healthy.
Ohhh I learned some new things !!
Oh thank gosh she said love it on intermittent fasting because I do that and I love it 😅😂❤
I mill my own wheat and make bread, and it’s great! I don’t limit my carbs, I don’t count calories or grams of anything. Joseph stored grain in Egypt to save his family and all the Egyptians :)
I don't think Joseph was spraying his wheat with Glyphosate before he harvested it.
Wont be in long run goodluck with cholesterol overload
@@ParadigmStages That is propaganda that you obviously bought into, the food pyramid is a bought and paid for lie.
Cholesterol is not all bad, it's essential for health.
Thanks for many quality tips and concepts. Having studied nutrition at the molecular level, it's very easy to get all the amino acids as vegetarians. That's per nutritionists. But we do need to learn to do that.
What's often lacking from vegetarian and low seafood diets are:
B12
Iron
Iodine (especially vegans)
Also, historically, hunter, gatherers didn't eat meat daily.
I do agree that the Biblical diet is suppoted by science. Its just not likely they were heavy meat eates which is common in our current cultures
Love this episode...such helpful information. Thank you, Allie!
Everyone has the right to choose to eat animal products or not. It really just comes down to personal choice.
Yes I have experienced this too
Ali you are the perfect candidate for meal prepping. So basically cooking the meals for the week ahead on a Sunday, saves time, money and guessing what to cook for your family. I also see some women cook meals to last 1 month, so like you freeze the meals in containers.
THank you for this conversation!!
I was vegan for years. I’m scared at the thought of continuing that harmful path and going through pregnancy. Of course the human body adapts enough to survive but no one on that diet is thriving.
I’ve been vegan since 2014 and had an incredibly easy pregnancy, labor, & delivery with my exclusively breastfed son who is now thriving at 1 year old 😊
Since the garden we need b12 to remain neurologically healthy.
