The mental health mention is a big thing. It means a lot that this page touches base on mental health, I struggle with it everyday and have sometimes even been at point break and attempted to go through but was stopped from going through with it. I started modifying cars as a way to find peace with a hobby that I knew I could feel accomplished in. Thanks guys for that.
if you're worried about doing timing belt stuff yourself, it's always a good idea to mark the old belt at those points where you're supposed to line up the crank and cam wheels and transfer those marks to the new belt so you can double check you didn't skip a tooth. adds a bit of safety to the whole procedure and gives you the confidence needed to turn the key after you've finished the job.

@MIghty Car Mods just a mental note from an mechanic that did lots of late 90's mitsubishi single and dual cam timing belts, if you put the crank and cam gears on the timing marks on the block, then the cams tend to sit in between lobes, and stay in place. If you remove the belt in just any old position, then the cams can snap and spin, thus loosing the timing to the crank. Just a helpful tip to you, and all that watch.

Respect for the Reach Out work fellas! Great to see good guys reaching out (see what I did!?!) to all to promote mental health support! ( I'm a MH specialist) Much respect!
People honestly love the queen here. She is an idol for so many people. We had the queens platinum jubilee recently, where everyone in the uk is off work and celebrates the queen for the whole day.
Great thing that you mentioned mental health and its' implications. Also you did it in an empathetic, considerate way. Thank you for that. Hope that people who need actual help will feel more encouraged and less embarassed, because there is nothing to be embarassed about in seeking help. Cheers!
Guys you ozzys are part of the commonwealth jyst like marty said but just like most of the UK we do not really give a toss for the old guard. You guys are brilliant. No one gives a shit about the queen. She needs to start loving turbos guys 😉
Yes Moog, "piece de resistance" is a thing in France. It's a cuisine term designating the main course in a full meal (that generally comprise 4 or more courses). By extension, it means the important bit of something coming in several parts/pieces. I guess it went into English language via the royals being half French half English at some point in both countries (or at least all cousins). So I am not surprised to find this in Australia too :)
@@reubenhooft541 you are right, "plat de resistance" also exists and is still currently used for speaking about the main course. But it's the "piece de resistance" that is less commonly used by people (at least now days) that gave its origin to this expression.
I remember a mate of mine here in ireland (Baz) sent you guys some vacuum schematics, when you first got this car. I always loved his March, amazing, quirky little nugget :)
I would REALLY like to see what these little cars can do with an upgraded turbo like a new Garrett G25...Granted it'd be limited by the size of the supercharger, but it would definitely help with spool times.
Al and Woody just got Harrop’s to build a modern supercharger for the Chevy Big Block; clearly the March SuperTurbo is the next logical hole in the market to fill.
I just love these vids. Thanks for keeping them coming. More thanks for the shout-out to Reach Out. I'm in the USA in California... the thing about mental health shite... it doesn't care where you live or who you are. Appreciate you guys supporting that cause!
Pièce de résistance, is an expression who is coming the french chefs of cuisine "plat de résistance" the principal plate of a lunch time in the midday. Pièce de résistance, piece of resistance, is the masterpiece of a situation for exemple. Grettings from Swiss, de Speak french too...

Especially when things were challenging or when life got hard in other ways, and then ya guys shouted out Reach Out 😊. You two are heroes and an inspiration to many. Wrench on! ✌❤
I absolutely love the sprinkles of help and guidance moog drops in and has done in episodes, a good “manly” fun task as working on cars with your mates having a laugh but touching on that ever so important subject of mental health that has such a stupid stigma which is slowly being removed is so good, no one has to carry the weight of the world on their shoulders, seek help, no matter how big or small, talking helps, talking saves lives, men woman whatever whoever it effects us all, we all deal with it in different capacities, share your problems people ❤️❤️
I just did a downpipe in my Mk7 Fiesta ST and it was WAY harder to get to than this, plus one of the bolts connecting the downpipe to the turbo flange snapped so then I had to take out the turbo and exhaust manifold to drill the bolt out, on ramps in my driveway. Glad yours went a bit more smoothly than that!
Always worth turning the crank by hand with a wratchet & socket on the end bolt once the new timing belt on (take the plugs out). So if you have made a mistake and a piston touches a valve, it will stop and not do any damage that the starter would. Should go full rotation twice and you are all good
FANTASTIC VIDEO LOVE IT.... Thank you for sharing and please keep em coming. Everyone keep yourselves and love ones safe and healthy and remember to SMILE.
The Pitwork line of parts is Nissan's second tier parts line, typically reserved for the fast moving service consumables for out of production models. Some manufactures call these 2nd tier parts lines "White Box" parts. The reason for this so that these parts can be sold at a cheaper price with less margin to compete against the aftermarket parts whilst retaining the "genuine" part with its greater margin for current (in production models) even though the part is exactly the same specification but possibly from a different supplier (but not in all cases).
Seeing this NIssan March reminds me of the Nissan Micra (same car in Europe) i once had. Without this channel i would've never known there was a faster version. Mine had a simple 1.2 4cylinder petrol engine. It was ugly and slow, but it was cheap to run and never let me down. When it failed MOT and i needed a car that could tow a trailer, i took it to the scrapyard, but never forgot about my first car.
The word husband comes from old Norse "húsbóndi" or in Danish, husbond. The word is a combination of "hus" (meaning house) and "bonde" (meaning someone living stationary on the same land, or a farmer.) So a husbond/husband is a farmer who owns his own house, and it later came to mean spouse. So husbandry is basically the management and caretaking of a farm.
From the UK - some people really like the Queen to a degree where it's a little weird, I don't mind the royal family. I reckon they bring in far more revenue in tourism than they cost to the economy, so it's all good (even if I'll never see any of the revenue, being from the North)
29:59 Why not remove the Ac (or alternator, even easier) and move it out of the way, This can be done without releasing the gas. That is actually Why the pump has those big rubber lines in the middle of the hard lines. For flexibility. Seems like less work then rewelding and losing a bit of the radius on your dump there.

I like it when Marty gets a turn hosting the show :)
We need a Martycarmods
@@PastorOfMuppetsVIVIVI yes! not bashing moog at all tho, just great to see both get a turn :D
Love your videos I’m a apprentice technician and doing that job has kind of taken away my joy of cars but you guys always bring it back every time I watch your videos loved growing up with your boys keep up the good work!
Probably just use bolts instead of the studs to mount the dump pipe.
Thats how aftermarket downpipes on LHD FD RX-7s are so you can have the better flowing long radius bend.
Thats what i was thinking , would make it fit without modifying the dump
yeah i was gonna say looks like it'd fit if you took the studs out although cant see the exact problem
Respect for the Reach Out work fellas! Great to see good guys reaching out (see what I did!?!) to all to promote mental health support! ( I'm a MH specialist) Much respect!
Would the dump pipe fit by removing the studs first? And screwing studs in after aligned or then use bolts?
People honestly love the queen here. She is an idol for so many people. We had the queens platinum jubilee recently, where everyone in the uk is off work and celebrates the queen for the whole day.
FYI Moog : From Perth to Paris is 14,269km… so pretty damn good guess 👍🏻
Great thing that you mentioned mental health and its' implications. Also you did it in an empathetic, considerate way. Thank you for that. Hope that people who need actual help will feel more encouraged and less embarassed, because there is nothing to be embarassed about in seeking help. Cheers!
Guys you ozzys are part of the commonwealth jyst like marty said but just like most of the UK we do not really give a toss for the old guard. You guys are brilliant. No one gives a shit about the queen. She needs to start loving turbos guys 😉
I really like this long format video style. It’s almost like a podcast they are doing while working on a car.
@Johan I am French... what's your problem? Jealous that people know things?
What about plat de résistance
Which is what i thought the french a actually used
@@reubenhooft541 you are right, "plat de resistance" also exists and is still currently used for speaking about the main course.
Well you just fixed the supercharger by putting a modern Eaton unit on it...
Al and Woody just got Harrop’s to build a modern supercharger for the Chevy Big Block; clearly the March SuperTurbo is the next logical hole in the market to fill.
Would probably blow up if pushed too hard, might make 300hp if it was fully built running 30psi
I just love these vids. Thanks for keeping them coming. More thanks for the shout-out to Reach Out. I'm in the USA in California... the thing about mental health shite... it doesn't care where you live or who you are. Appreciate you guys supporting that cause!
MCM drinking game- have a drink every time Marty says "I reckon"
thanks i died
Marty literally said "I reckon" as I read your comment lol, I didn't realise how regularly he says it cause it's such a common phrase down under!
Thanks guys, was cool hanging out.
It might be counter-intuitive , but try taking the studs out and then screw them back in with the down pipe in position
this wasn't the issue i dont think.. he would have measured to account for the studs.
Marty’s fab work has come so far! Good job man!!
Remove the studs from the turbo to get the dump pipe on...
I am disgruntled that this is my favorite channel.
Great episode as always boys :)
As for the Queen, I couldn't give a monkies about her, weird, sponging, raisen impersonator and a her shifty af sons.
Just watching this video and thinking about all the time I've spent with my mates and cars over the years, a great deal of inspiration came from you guys!
Should go full rotation twice and you are all good
New director? Best episode ever, bit of real time footage, two mates working on a car .
Mightycarmods, the internet's best four wheel driving, goat husbandry, pipe smoking and food channel.
FANTASTIC VIDEO LOVE IT.... Thank you for sharing and please keep em coming. Everyone keep yourselves and love ones safe and healthy and remember to SMILE.
Love the long format videos! Keep up the great work guys
I really enjoyed watching this video: not as much banter, but information and cooperation. Cheers!
Excellent video and thank you for getting a positive message out about mental health, remember it’s okay to not be okay.
starting a petition to get a series of the Hilux from the best 4wd and off-road channel on the planet
Came here to check for this comment. :)
It is just enjoyable to see these two guys, work together.
From the UK - some people really like the Queen to a degree where it's a little weird, I don't mind the royal family. I reckon they bring in far more revenue in tourism than they cost to the economy, so it's all good (even if I'll never see any of the revenue, being from the North)
Love videos like this. Just feels like hanging out in the garage working on cars with friends.
45:01 Yep! Was waiting for that hahahahah. Im glad you guys left that part in though. Shows everyone else the learning experience of "well ill just cut here, and THEN it will fit"
end of the video I realized it was nearly an hour video . a lot of info and excellent comradery. Feed Marty
Edd China done a tank clean on a range rover. Really good episode and makes it look so easy.
First Sarah's UR Quattro and now the Super Turbo! off custom exhausts causing undue suffering 😭😂
The new shop have such a cool vibe! Really enjoying the disrespected videos in the new shop
