if you're worried about doing timing belt stuff yourself, it's always a good idea to mark the old belt at those points where you're supposed to line up the crank and cam wheels and transfer those marks to the new belt so you can double check you didn't skip a tooth. adds a bit of safety to the whole procedure and gives you the confidence needed to turn the key after you've finished the job.

Yes Moog, "piece de resistance" is a thing in France. It's a cuisine term designating the main course in a full meal (that generally comprise 4 or more courses). By extension, it means the important bit of something coming in several parts/pieces. I guess it went into English language via the royals being half French half English at some point in both countries (or at least all cousins). So I am not surprised to find this in Australia too :)

@@reubenhooft541 you are right, "plat de resistance" also exists and is still currently used for speaking about the main course. But it's the "piece de resistance" that is less commonly used by people (at least now days) that gave its origin to this expression.

I absolutely love the sprinkles of help and guidance moog drops in and has done in episodes, a good “manly” fun task as working on cars with your mates having a laugh but touching on that ever so important subject of mental health that has such a stupid stigma which is slowly being removed is so good, no one has to carry the weight of the world on their shoulders, seek help, no matter how big or small, talking helps, talking saves lives, men woman whatever whoever it effects us all, we all deal with it in different capacities, share your problems people ❤️❤️

@MIghty Car Mods just a mental note from an mechanic that did lots of late 90's mitsubishi single and dual cam timing belts, if you put the crank and cam gears on the timing marks on the block, then the cams tend to sit in between lobes, and stay in place. If you remove the belt in just any old position, then the cams can snap and spin, thus loosing the timing to the crank. Just a helpful tip to you, and all that watch.

"I asked a French person" that French person must not have been involved or interested in the culinary arts, because it's very much a Foodie Thing.
It's like asking my grandma "do Australians really say 'CHOPPED' when they win a race?" because in her experience, no, what does that even mean, and yet here we have an entire community of 'em.

    Hey Marty,
I used to have a K11 super S with all the Whiteline bolt parts (sway bars, adjustable trailing arms, adjustable pan hard rod, etc). Also had King springs, adjustable Konis, some Nismo bits, Genuine Rays forged wheels and P-zeros.
Gti-R/ N15 SSS/NX-R front brakes are an excellent bolt on upgrade. (AD22V)
    calipers and DBA 4000 rotors.
March/Micra can really be dialled to handle incredibly well.
Great to see the March Super Turbo receiving some love.

So I’m sitting in an airport lounge 3 no 4 drinks in, so this is the best one I’ve seen (alcohol talking?). Really, restoring and improving early electronic control vehicles is a challenge and the two of you have shown it can be done reasonably. I am in the US and trying to get back to my project, a 95 Dodge Dakota I installed upgraded from a 3.9 to 5.9. At the time I did it only factory controllers were available but now I have a MegaSquirt controller (assembled myself) as engine and transmission (lock up and overdrive) management. It doesn’t matter what your preference of vehicles are I find all your content informative and instructive. Okay, entertaining also(is that the alcohol? No). Big fan in US!

I just did a downpipe in my Mk7 Fiesta ST and it was WAY harder to get to than this, plus one of the bolts connecting the downpipe to the turbo flange snapped so then I had to take out the turbo and exhaust manifold to drill the bolt out, on ramps in my driveway.
Glad yours went a bit more smoothly than that!

I’m from the UK. I don’t care one bit about the monarchy, some people do but most of us don’t. They don’t have control over the country like would have done hundreds of years ago and now just carry out public duties and charitable service.
Some people joke about them being alien shape shifters which is quite amusing, I think think it’s likely they have a lot of dark secrets and corruption, hanging around with the dirty elite behind closed doors but I guess we’ll never know.
I’m glad to see another disrespect episode again I hope they’re making a comeback. Thanks guys for keeping on doing what you’re doing and most of all what you enjoy - just two mates messing with cars and chatting waffle. Also the channel has come so far since I started watching and I love that you’ve not grown too fast like some other content creators and remembering how it all started. You lads are top stock!

    Great Video guys.
One thing to do with your fuel system, is a full flush & clean, including injectors. I had a 2 litre 5 speed manual Daiwoo Nabira (Basically a re-bodied JE Camira) that had rust in the tank like yours, but maybe a little worse, and it clogged the pump & pick up, the fuels lines, and injectors. Needed new injectors, full flush of the fuel lines, new fuel pump, and because the tank actually had a few pin holes after cleaning, a new fuel tank. The fuel tank was a little beyond repair, so a new one looked for. I could find fuel tanks everywhere for wagons, but nowhere anywhere in Australia for a sedan. To get one from overseas wasn't cost effective when looking into total cost off repairs for the whole fuel system, so the car was sold and the new buyer advised off what was required.
Looking forward to seeing the Superturbo back on the road.

Seeing this NIssan March reminds me of the Nissan Micra (same car in Europe) i once had. Without this channel i would've never known there was a faster version. Mine had a simple 1.2 4cylinder petrol engine. It was ugly and slow, but it was cheap to run and never let me down. When it failed MOT and i needed a car that could tow a trailer, i took it to the scrapyard, but never forgot about my first car.
