Thanks Myers! I didn't feel right keeping that ring and the stuff in it. Felt like it was meant to be there. Thanks for watching!

So, that's what it's like to dig silver! I forgot already. Congrats on your finds dude!!

🤣 yeah, that shiny stuff was just jumping out of the ground! I couldn't believe how much luck I was having.

You must have a hell of a collection of silver coins.

I would say I have a decent silver collection. The best I've dug was an XF45 graded 1921-D Mercury dime. Most of the stuff I find is pretty common as far as silvers go.......my main target is North Dakota trade tokens. I love finding those things!

Take your time with youtube. You are doing great. I have metal texted for 12 years and have never made a video. I enjoy watching folks videos regardless of the finds. I agree a snap of house or a little history would gather intreat of others. And for God's sake, please do not let your pin pointer run over a find for a long period of time. Nothing is more distracting. Enjoy your digs . Thanks for the video!

Thanks Philip! I tried my darnedest to mute the video while I had my pinpointer going off but I couldn't figure out how to do it. My bad.....that is wicked annoying though, I'm in total agreement with you. I have since changed my pinpointer to vibrate only after watching my first few videos. Thanks for watching!

Amazing finds, especially that key date 1931-S wheat cent! Not sure how much you may know about numismatic but that's a key date with only 866,000 having been minted. In the condition that coin is in it's easily worth $70 if not more! Nicely done!

Thanks Michael! I'm actually pretty big into coin collecting so I knew I had a good one with it. I actually made another video of it where I sent it and 3 other coins into NGC. I think it's a bit of a higher grade but I'm thinking it'll get the "environmental damage" notation. I'll make another video of the coins I sent off once I get them back. All 4 of them that I sent in are detecting finds. Thanks for watching!

Great content & I look forward to seeing future videos. Wish you luck that it gets a straight grade but even if it doesn't that's still a tremendous find! Think about it, only 866,000 were minted & there's no telling how many have survived & you actually dug one up! I've been collecting coins for over 20 yrs now & have been lucky with some finds like finding a 1936 & 1972 DDO cents while hunting rolls from banks or bags from dealers. I'd flip out if I were able to find any key date of any denomination! LoL! Again, good luck & I'll be watching future videos! Stay safe!

Thanks @michaelmartin4816 ! I actually dug a 1921-D Mercury dime 3 years ago that I got graded by NGC as an XF45! Luckily I was quite careful with it and put it in my truck not knowing what year and mint it was so I could spray it off with some water to try to keep from scratching it once I got done detecting....I'm glad I did! Hopefully I can nab another key date again sometime soon!

The Denver mint must of shipped the bank or banks there, a good bit of coins way back then. Because you do have alot of D,s it seems. Good hunt, looking forward to more videos.😊

Yeah, the majority of what I dig is from Denver. We still get a number of Philadelphia and San Francisco coins, and on occasion New Orleans minted Barbers but for the most part it's mostly Denver. Thanks for watching and I hope I can get another video out in the coming week!

Being as you get so many Denvers. You have a slight advantage when you get certain Mercury Head Dimes, such as the 1916D and the 1931D. Two key dates. In Lincoln Head Cents I would always be looking for the 1914D. And being as the soil there seems to be great as your coins come out in very nice condition. Even though those coins are a rare find, even a slight edge is good. And you seem to find alot of Merks and old Lincolns. Hope you will find some over time.😊

Hello HPD: Rick, an MDer from PA, but originally from Rapid City, many relatives from Mobridge. I notice many of your silvers are in great shape. The soil and the weather don’t seem to be as hard on the silvers in ND. If you don’t mind, please share what machine you’re using and also the long handle shovel you use. I enjoy the videos. Don’t be too hard on yourself. You’re doing a good job.

Hey Rick! My family and I are huge fans and frequent visitors to Rapid. We go down at least once a summer if not more.
The soil in ND is quite dark and seems to be very kind to the coins in it. I sometimes dig wheats and IHP's with touches of reddish mint luster still on them. They only draw back is our long winters that turn the dirt solid as rock. I've broken a few shovels trying to dig in that stuff. The shovel I use is an Anaconda NX-6 36". It works great and is very durable although I've bent and broken a few using them not as they were meant to be. I also use a Minelab CTX3030 metal detector which is my absolute favorite of all the detectors I've had. It's a bit heavier than most but an excellent machine.
Thanks much for watching my videos....I'm hoping to improve as I go!

Thanks for the info. I have an old Garrett 400 and I am definitely looking to upgrade. The 3030 is unfortunately a bit out of my price range. What do think of the Equinox 600?
I don’t follow many MDer tubes, and there are a ton of them on UA-cam. I’m subscribed to yourself, a guy from East Texas, and someone from Southern California. A little taste of the MD life from all over!

@rickscherr1102 No problem Rick! I would go with at least the Equinox 800 being it is waterproof.....I don't think the 600 is waterproof. I'm not a huge fan of the Equinox detectors as they give off different tones and numbers compared to what I'm used to but I hear they are real good machines. I've been spoiled by the CTX3030 and the Etrac so I've stuck with what I know but they can be a bit pricey!
