- This week I scooter to a park i want to hunt, but come across the curb strip of dreams! I pull some nice stuff and have some fun! Please enjoy

I was on my way to a park and came across this curb strip I could not pass up. I had a lot of fun in this dirt and pulled some nice treasures. Please enjoy this hunt and join me for the premiere. Thank you. :)

Watching you detect curb strips brings back some great memories! I grew up in Ocean Beach [San Diego]. When I was 13 and 14 [I'm 65 now] my best buddy and I would pool our resources and rent a metal desector for the weekend from a treasure hunting shop located in the Old Town part of San Diego. Every street in Ocean Beach had sidewalks with curb strips and those were always the most productive places. What I remember finding the most of was mercury dimes from the 30's and 40's. From the perspective of ago [and maybe a little wisdom], men wore loose-fitting slacks in that era and I suspect dimes fell out of their pockets easiest as they climbed out of their cars. We never found a ring but we did find a few silver half dollars. Nothing spectacular, but they were some nice walking liberty and Benjamin halfs. After all these years, I still have one of the walking liberty half dollars we found.
That is a rad story!! Curb strips are like time capsules for the neighborhood. I have found lots of silver coins and many rings in the strips. recently found a 24K gold dragon ring which is my best find!! I want to hunt the old swimming holes of Oceanside one day!! :)

Nice balanced collection of finds in that curb strip. Pretty complete check down the list: wheatie(s), ring, token, foreign coin, key, dollar coin... all without hunting a lot of area. You definitely found the right spot.

This was one of my 1st curb strip hunts!! Since this one I have found over 50 silver coins in curb strips and 1, 24K gold dragon ring!! Various relics as far back as just after the civil war. :) Definitely look at 1800's maps of your area and then head to those curb strips and collect the treasures!! good luck! :)

7 wheaties is awesome! Plus a dollar coin, a token and a coin from Russia is way cool! I don't have any Russian coins yet. I collect all kinds of coins. Like Tripwire says if you're a coin collector, you are never broke. Lmao 💖💯
This was a really fun hunt Julie! The find of the day was the silver 3 band ring.. Russian coins are rad they have a double headed eagle. Keep digging.. you will find one. :)

Maybe I should try a strip. I went out today in a field and a backyard at an abandoned property and nothing but trash. Nice finds man.
you should definitely try some curb strips.. some states you are not allowed to, and in some cities the owner of the property owns the curb strip(very rare though) A curb strip is sorta like a time capsule of that neighborhood. :)

I metal detected along the sidewalk all day last week and at the end it payed off amd i got a 1919 wheat pennie

I just got done walking abd detecting gravel road i found lotta smashed aluminum cans some heavy duty steel nothing really super rare or nothing i found a broke pocket knife too

I have an electric scooter. Show us how you get your metal detector in your backpack? I have a Garrett AT Gold.
I used to breakdown the detector and put it in the bag... now I just put the coil in the backpack and the shaft and everything else hangs out.. then I put the backpack where the handle bars connect so the detector is in front on me while I'm scooterinnns :)
