    That was a pretty nice Infantry button!!! The rivets your finding are pack rivets from a side pack. I bet you'll find some "J" hooks or knap sack hangers. Also used to hold a canteen. Looks like you restored the faith in people for that guy! Like mild shock. 🙂

      @BB-kr1pq thanks BB! I couldn't believe how high the tone was on that Infantry button. I thought for sure it would be a bit of canslaw but I was happily proven wrong. Maybe I earned myself some karma points by turning in those cashiers checks.

Anytime you can save artifacts is a great day so I wouldn't worry about not getting any new permissions. I'm certain when the time presents itself that you'll obtain new places to detect. Hello, PA Rick here. I had a thought about your camera. I am subscribed to Monterrey Magnet Man, he does MD beach hunts on the left coast. Anyway, he has a contraption he wears on his chest (I think) that holds his cell phone for him while he digs. Seems to work pretty well. MMM is a good guy, I’m sure he’d fill you in if you contacted him. Even so, I am impressed that you’re able to do a lot with one hand!

    the iron disc at 7:45 min might be a 1943 steel penny, if its smaller than a nickel. If it's bigger, who knows, unless a punch out from an electric fixture box.

    Awesome finds! Love the tokens! I just found my first token yesterday and see that you used lemon juice. I was thinking about using that for a little while too. I have figured out what the token says but it is a little hard to see.

      Thanks! Lemon juice is a bit rough on the brass and copper tokens but it works very well on aluminum tokens and doesn't mess with their color at all. I feel your pain about your teeth! I currently have only 12 teeth remaining. Two molars on both sides on the top, four front bottom, one molar on the bottom left & three molars bottom right. I'm supposed to be getting my final partials in the next week or two. I used to have great, strong teeth but from what several dentists I've seen over the yrs have said was that some of the meds I take for high blood pressure & other ailments weakened my enamel. I didn't help matters by not keeping up with brushing either so for me it was a combination of factors. Hopefully I can get implants in the near future but for now it's partials for me. Just thought I'd let you know that you're not alone in your pain nor mental stress associated with the hassle of it all. Take care & stay safe!

    Amazing finds, especially that key date 1931-S wheat cent! Not sure how much you may know about numismatic but that's a key date with only 866,000 having been minted. In the condition that coin is in it's easily worth $70 if not more! Nicely done!

      @EmptyWilbur Місяць тому

      Thanks Michael! I'm actually pretty big into coin collecting so I knew I had a good one with it. I actually made another video of it where I sent it and 3 other coins into NGC. I think it's a bit of a higher grade but I'm thinking it'll get the "environmental damage" notation. I'll make another video of the coins I sent off once I get them back. All 4 of them that I sent in are detecting finds. Thanks for watching!

    • @michaelmartin4816
      @michaelmartin4816 Місяць тому

      Great content & I look forward to seeing future videos. Wish you luck that it gets a straight grade but even if it doesn't that's still a tremendous find! Think about it, only 866,000 were minted & there's no telling how many have survived & you actually dug one up! I've been collecting coins for over 20 yrs now & have been lucky with some finds like finding a 1936 & 1972 DDO cents while hunting rolls from banks or bags from dealers. I'd flip out if I were able to find any key date of any denomination! LoL! Again, good luck & I'll be watching future videos! Stay safe!

      Thanks @michaelmartin4816 ! I actually dug a 1921-D Mercury dime 3 years ago that I got graded by NGC as an XF45! Luckily I was quite careful with it and put it in my truck not knowing what year and mint it was so I could spray it off with some water to try to keep from scratching it once I got done detecting....I'm glad I did! Hopefully I can nab another key date again sometime soon!

    Nice finds! Those signals didn't sound that bad! I dig those all the time. It's amazing at what would have gotten passed by. That fort must have been there for quite a few years. The date range of the things your finding is from the 1860's up to the late 1890's. The piece at the end of the vid, 20:40 is a piece of shoulder epaulette. From what I understand, the rookies would show up in full regalia including shoulder epaulette's, and the old timers would give them crap, and they were then discarded. I'm down in the SW corner of ND and need to head north for a few hunts. Seems to be more heritage up that way. Great history dig!!

    • @EmptyWilbur

      Thanks BB! I guess I'm used to hunting yards and such so I'm used to really obvious signals. A lot of the signals out at the fort were real faint and difficult to get to repeat. And you're right on with the fort, 1866 to 1894 I believe.
