This is a walk around of my 2019 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon that I have turned into an overland build.
Can you sleep in a Jeep? How about can you live in a Jeep? As Overland and Van Life have become more popular I want to give you a guided walk around of my Jeep and show off all of the modifications and camping equipment I took with me to prepare for a 650 mile off-road adventure along The Historic Pony Express Trail.

Personally, I think you've got the perfect set up right now. Everything seems to work well for your needs and frankly Ive seen so many overdone overland vehicles. Its real easy to over do it with our need/want for new stuff when in reality what you already have seems to work very well. Like we used to say in the Army, If it aint broke dont fix it! Either way, I love your videos and keep em up.

I agree, I think one day I would like to settle on a rooftop tent that isn't just a review unit. From there I think it is just small things, like my filming setup.

Love the Jeep! my 16 yo son and I have slept over 30 days in our JK rubicon while bouncing around Canada and Alaska. You can fit two in the back. We put our gear on a hitch carrier and then built an internal rack for the back trunk area. just remember to put feet under the rack. Love the build, want the extra fuel tank! That is on my wish list now.
as far as keeping everything low for rear visibility, you still have none. 35's and a higher carrier mean you have about four inches of glass to see out of.

      @JustinBMcBride  3 роки тому

Hey Justin, Nice set up. I'm still putting my stuff together, and have a similar philosophy about keeping everything low. As per your next mod, I'd recommend an awning or Hasika tent to afford some other living space, that packs away in a small space when you don't need it. Cheers my firend.

Thank you for sharing your gear video for your Jeep. I have only been overlanding for the last year or so. I've change a few things in my line up. I saw your skottle and it reminds me when you have that overlanding fever sometimes you get carried away buying stuff. I did return my skottle and exchange it with a 2 burner Dometic Pro. I see that everybody have preference to gears. I was blown away with that Long Range America aux tank. I am not sure if I can justify paying $2200 for an extra 17 gallon. I guess we all have favorites. I also have that blue 5 gallon and that appears to be to heavy and also replace that with 4 gallon Dometic with pump

I really like the "rail racks pack racks" (at about 4:24). But you don't link to them and I can't find anything by searching.

    So key to overlanding:
step 1.) throw 100k towards build.
Step 2.) drive to desired trail

I bet this built was a small fortune, but I get what you're saying. All you really need to overland is regular camping gear, a reliable vehicle and kick ass tires.

You’re scripting and camera work are well above expectations, you certainly deserve way more subscribers, my dude.

New subscriber. Great content, quality work. I want to know your thoughts on the Goose Gear panel system used for the floor. Also your decision to keep the rear (40%) seat, and not cover the entire area?

It’s nice, I think the folks at American Adventure Lab have a nicer system on the way. I would recommend checking them out. Theirs is lighter, more modular, and all aluminum.

how's your reliability on long trips? I am stuck between investing in a JL or Tacoma.
    Thank you! Love your Jeep!

I’ve had it almost two years and it primarily gets used for just trips (because I work from home) so I would say it is awesome. I had more issues with my Tacoma by this point.

Great stuff! Do you not run your hard shell roof top tent anymore? Cheers from Denver CO!

All the tents I have had so far were just loaner review units. But I’m seriously missing that GFC Superlite right now.

Can't tell if I'm watching an Apple commercial or an Overland video. Ha! Beautifully edited, excellent shots, and very well said dude! Top notch.
