Great build, I love seeing DIY campers like this. It shows that you don't need the expensive aftermarket stuff. Usually over time you figure out what works and what doesn't so you improve and evolve.
i can 'suggest'...after you move front seats 'forward' ( sleeping mode )...add a DARK 'curtain' behind front seats...to leave front driver/passenger/Windshield Alone...to Avoid Suspicious 'Peeps' walking by...thinking there is someone 'sleeping inside'!... i would try to keep bed platform as low as possible to 'Maximize' head room. For me...when platform too 'high'...i feel like i'm sleeping in a coffin ( due to ceiling...too close to my head...). Cheers from Canada..Safe Travels!!
i dont mean to be offtopic but does any of you know of a trick to log back into an Instagram account?? I somehow lost my account password. I love any tips you can give me!
@Davian Forest Thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site on google and Im in the hacking process atm. I see it takes quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
Love your set up! I love camping in my Jeep Wrangler too! I don’t have a dedicated set up like you, but when I do go out for my random trips, I have a mattress in the back, and just stealth camp in random cities and for solo camping trips. I usually keep my 9 by my side since I like to sleep in areas such as bourbon st in New Orleans occasionally.
Totally love it! I have a WJ without a platform bc I can sit up inside like in a tent. A Wrangler is my dream vehicle! I like the Thule box a lot, the awning is important in some locations and makes it feel like you have a living room or deck. I use a very inexpensive hikers tarp and attach it to the roof rails with bungee balls and carry adjustable awning poles budget was my concern. See ya on the road
This is awesome! I'm finishing up my Jeep camper build right now and love the details you've got inside the car. Mine's definitely a little less fancy than yours but I may upgrade it in a few months!
About your charging area.. I have the same thing and actually have the car charger leading to a 12v power strip so it charges my power everytime the jeep is on. Just food for thought. Absolutely love the build and am stealing some ideas man.
holy Moses. the kitchen is bad ass. you clearly put lots of thought into this. I am preparing a tiny build for my Prius....with a twist. can't wait to venture from LA to Lake Michigan this holiday to test it!
That setup is pretty cool. I like seeing ideas from different people and make up my own and what would work for me i really like this setup and the video was great and informative
This is so cool! Not sure if someone already suggested but a pool noodle or a foam pipe wrap/insulation cut in half would be great to cover the corners of the cabinets to protect your knees in case you bump on it.
Nice!!! Found your video while perusing ways to future enhance my '93 Ford Bronco XLT camping enhancement. Thanks for the effort and links (loving the lightweight light strand and the Jackery...heard lots of good things about it)!
You have seeded a dream in my heart that I will strive for years until I bring it into my life. I want the backroad freedom of a jeep and to be able to camp in the quiet wilds.
Mate, sorry to see you had to be recovered by a Station Wagon. Other than that, great balance of Off-roader and Stealth Camper. I have the same model in Black. Love it. Keen to get out and camp much more.
I have the exact same jeep my camping setup is a little different but i love what you have done. Mine had to be different because I travel with my wife and a 140lb Great Dane.
Ive got a similar set up in my JKU! Been using it for a while! Much better than a RTT, less obvious, and can drive away from the the hungry bear without exiting the jeep!
Happy 500 subs! I’m #498. But close enough. I just bought an 03 Mitsubishi montero, and THIS is exactly that I want to do to it. Thanks and keep up the great content
Great build. One question, I do like the idea of the sliding-out drawer kitchen/stove. Do the smell of food get inside the sleep area when you cook? I guess you could pull the rear window down to prevent some of the smell?
Thanks for the inspiration. I’ve actually been wanting to do this to my 2012 Jeep JK. I never have anyone in my Jeep anyway so I will take the back seats out and maybe the front passenger seat for more legroom.
Hi. A really nice set up. Very functional. Video also well done: good editing with the drone shots, music a good compliment to your narration without being distracting.
You've made me reconsider my entire build. Was going to have the yeti pop out the back, but this puts the platform higher than I would prefer. I have the 65. I am going to seriously consider the side door option. If you can provide anymore on how your cooler slide set-up is, that would be awesome :)
Jenneil Parks Thanks, it was pretty difficult, but we got it as low as possible. The door is a sort of V shape, so the wider your cooler the higher the cooler will have to placed to make it fit. It did save height room though which was the goal
@@MyEcoJournal What length slides did you use? Also, do you remember the brand name and style? I am not sure if I would need the lock-in/lock-out slides if I install the same way you did or if heavy duty slides would work just as well. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks :)
Nice work on your mods. I liked what you had to say about envisioning its creation like being on the international space station! You are exactly right! I think that if you refined it and worked on the materials that you could commercialize the sleep platform and cabinets. What if they were made of fiberglass?
I have a jeep cherokee, I like your ideas with the bed platform and things you need in storage box on top of jeep. Great idea! How did you take the seats from the back ? I want to this. How much was the build? Is living in the jeep expensive? How long are you planning to live in the jeep? Thanks again.
Your Jeep is great bro! How tall are you? Do you think a 1.81 m person can sleep there comfortably? Do you have the measurement of the bed? Thank you very much for your review!
Good shit! I am so torn between a 4door and a 2door, the former purely because of the ability to sleep inside! Can't really do it in a 2door, maybe even with 1 person.
@Leewilly440 I actually ended up going with the 2-door and am very happy with my decision. It'll depend on what you're using it for, of course. There actually is a way to put a sleeper setup inside, but more importantly I wanted to do lightweight offroading, the back seats are crazy comfy these days and high convertible or removable in seconds. The short wheel base is VITAL for maneuverability on the trail or in urban places. If I had a family or needed to tow heavier things it would be an issue, but as is I much prefer the versatility and agility.
Nice build. I figured out I wanted to turn my Jeep into a camper AFTER buying the 2 door wrangler. I love being able to get it into places a bigger vehicle won't fit, but I've slept in it a few times (which meant I didn't get any sleep).
@@MyEcoJournal The best 2 door setups I've seen are where the passenger seat is removed to make a bed. If I keep adding to the 2 door I'm gonna get a nice rooftop rack and clamshell pop up roof tent. That way I can at least sleep in that without taking up any more space than the vehicle footprint.
Hi, Christian. Nice setup, come with it to British Columbia once the border is open - you'd love the scenery here. Could you please tell the length of the bed?
Really like the camper, I did my sleeping platform and curtains a little different. I’d try to explain but it’s easier to watch the video on my channel. Thanks for sharing ideas as I’m constantly evolving my camping system!
I don't have a jeep but u can look on the datasheet to know how much weight that roofrack can hold. On a normal vw bus its about 100-150kg. My family and I are windsurfers and normally have 4 boards up there
Very nice work bro! I'm not sure if this has been asked already, but did the Thule storage box reduce your gas mileage (MPG's)? Thank you and have fun road tripping ✌!!!

Why are you typing with so many quotes and "..."s
I think you have a great balance between a modified Jeep sleeper and a stealth camper. Nice job man
The stealth part has been very useful this year, Thank you!

@Davian Forest It did the trick and I actually got access to my account again. I am so happy!
Thank you so much, you saved my account :D
This is probably my favorite setup that I’ve seen. It’s a very good balance.
As of yesterday I just bought my first 3/4 plywood to start a very similar build in my 2018 jeep renegade trail hawk. Here we go!!
Happy building!
Omg I love this when I turn 16 I was gonna do a van conversion but this this is sooooo amazing!!!

Tell us more, about the Jackery power box...
Well done with the slider for the cooler. Legit setup
Hardest part was that, thanks!

Crosby Melendi Hey as long as there’s somewhere to sleep its good enough!
If yours is a JL, you may find some Camping ideas of mine helpful as well.
About your charging area.. I have the same thing and actually have the car charger leading to a 12v power strip so it charges my power everytime the jeep is on. Just food for thought.
Absolutely love the build and am stealing some ideas man.
Hey man can you drop a link to the power strip you use to do this? Looking to set my Jackery up similarly.
Dude, this is dope! Wish I had your skills to make something like this! Great job!
We too bought a pink RTIC cooler because we figured the probability of it being stolen was pretty low. It was my husband's idea - GENIUS!
Pink power!
love the jeep setup. even more I love the beach scenery...where did you find such a beautiful private beach?
holy Moses. the kitchen is bad ass. you clearly put lots of thought into this. I am preparing a tiny build for my Prius....with a twist. can't wait to venture from LA to Lake Michigan this holiday to test it!

This is awesome. I'll likely do something similar in my Commander some time in the future.
Remarkable! So organized & it looks like you have the necessities!! I’m impressed!

You've done a great job! I'm setting up my jeep very similar. Only difference is I use roll bar soft bags for the back windows. They work magic.

Other than that, great balance of Off-roader and Stealth Camper.

Very nice buildout. I’m amazed you got that yeti 45 under the deck! Really sweet rig. Enjoy it and be safe.
Thank you! That yeti was definitely the hardest part of the build!
Dude you have the best jeep set up
Just now found your channel and I look forward to your upcoming adventures! As I Always say, Keep on Jeepin!!
That’s right! Keep on Jeepin!
Great ideas, thank you, I am thinking of doing it for my new 2021 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport, 4 door, 2.0 turbo.
Nice to see another Massachusetts boy on here . I'm in the Boston area too . I'm building my 4x4 chevy van into a off road camper van .
I have the exact same jeep my camping setup is a little different but i love what you have done. Mine had to be different because I travel with my wife and a 140lb Great Dane.

Building one of these out right now. Really like your design and super helpful video! Thanks man
Love the shorty two doors.
This is the perfect conversion I was looking for
Amazing build, this is pretty much my dream build!
The wrangler are really only good for one person with this set up. The new bronco looks bigger so hopefully it will be a amazing set up
I LOVE THIS SETUP, A TRUE MINIMALIST 😍

Keep on going :)
Thanks! One of my favorite additions haha

I'm curious if you considered making the kitchen shorter and the bed foldable so that you could still use the back seat.
