- These shoulder pain relief exercises are great for helping to relieve general shoulder pain and shoulder tightness. The shoulder exercises are done in real time, so it’s easy to follow along with the routine. Buy a worksheet with these shoulder exercises: www.askdoctorjo.com/5-minute-...
These shoulder exercises start off with a warm-up including shoulder circles, arm circles, and shoulder Ts. These will get the shoulder muscles warm and loose.
Next, exercising the shoulder in different directions will help target different muscles around the shoulder. Shoulder flexion, shoulder abduction, and shoulder scaption are great simple ways to strengthen the rotator cuff and other muscles around the shoulder.
Finally, shoulder squeezes and shoulder shrugs will help strengthen the shoulder, neck, and upper back muscles.

Is it supposed to hurt a little? I’ve always been confused by exercises to help with pain when they trigger it. I won’t say unbearable pain, just mild and uncomfortable. I just worry I’ve further hurting myself

My right side upper arm and neck region feel slightly painful when I type a lot. Will these exercises be helpful for that? How many times in a day should I do these exercises?

Hi doctor, you are great. Your explanation is apprehensible and admirable. I suffer from vertebra hemangioma; is there any stretch or exercise for this issue? Thank you in advance🌹🙏
I like it
my physical therapist didnt give me many shoulder excercises to increase shoulder mobility following my lumbar fusion last fall. I had my last physical therapy appointment last thursday. I underestimated how much a lumbar fusion would influence shoulder mobility
Hello Dr. JO! Not only shoulder but i've fingers tinkling and it's very painful. Neither i hold anything nor i do any work properly. If you help me through exercise in your next video video I'll be ever great full to you. Thank you so much Dr. Jo. Be blessed🙏

You're welcome.
Thanks. May I ask you one question, what should the scapula do when we flex our shoulders 90 degree. Should we protract our shoulder blade or keep it normal or should it move naturally according to glenohumeral rythm
You are the best your excercise videos are always worthwhile to fight against the tightness and pain during office hours. Kudos to you 🎉👏
Thanks.
Been experiencing shoulder pain for quite a while now and it somehow affected my collarbones. Seen a chiropractor that told me about my dislocated shoulder but I didn't get enough rest so I've been straining (overused) them again. There are times that I can't even lift up my arms fully or side sleeping. Gonna use this video to start exercising my shoulders. Hope it'll lessen the pain. Thank you for uploading this.
You're welcome.
Did it help u??
Hello.thank you
You're welcome.
hey doctor joe, I'm currently going to physical therapy for a clicking in my hip that's painless. Now however I'm getting similar clicks in my shoulder and my back. These aren't painful but I'm worried that they're all coming at once. I am 36 and lately have been working out less intensely to give my body a rest. I've been stretching more than ever lately trying to keep myself injury free. Do you think these clicks and pops will remain painless? My biggest fear is giving myself pain.
It's amazing, you look the same as 5 years ago. Right there with Keanu Reeves, people are going to wonder if you're immortal lol Been sleeping on and killing my shoulders, going to start doing these and see if there's improvement, have to work on elbows too, hoping to come back and say how much better I feel like other exercises, thank you for the video!
😂 You're welcome!
Would i do these same exercises for a calcified cyst in my shoulder?
Lot of tq mom♥️🌹
You're welcome.
Suggestions for someone with TOS and shoulder nerve impingement? I was able to do all the exercises without pain except the shoulder shrugs.

Hello Dr. Jo,
I am getting right to the question. I had a thoracotomy on my right lung in 2018. From the time I was in post op, I had these muscles spasms on that side, intetween the ribs where they cut to go in. These spasms are very very debilitating. In the last four years, I have had numerous Nerve blocks. I have tried everything. The Dr’s all told me Tens would not help me. What to you think? Thanks B.
Unfortunately, I don't know that answer since I can't evaluate you. Everyone is different. If there is any way you can see a physical therapist in person, they should be able to help you figure out if it would help, design a specific program for you, and help answer your questions.
I can do it for me is easy.
Would be any different if I add a small weight to my wrist ?
Show off 😅
I'm of course joking, I actually want to know if it is possible to add weights as well.
I'm still not there yet and will still take me some time to get to a point to where I can add an elastic band or weight, but it's helpful to know.
Please make a video on lung aspiration exercises
Dr jo my legs not working properly I can't walk properly
Thanks for the help. My cousin dog died today 😿
