This channel is amazing. I watch an episode every night in bed. I'm 45. Best cartoon characters of my childhood.
Used to watch this when I was little I’m 49 they never put the final episodes on it Just finished fuming for years 😂😂😂
I'm 49 myself. I remember watching these cartoons when I was young on what we used to call " Saturday morning cartoons" before they had cable and satlite .
@@edwardmcdermott6701 born on June 6th 1974 .
@@markmitchell2282 Wow !!! I was born June 2 1974 . No shit !!! Small world. We definitely grew up in the same era .
The cartoon is objectively bad, but sure
I’m 60 years old and i love watching cartoons.
Indeed you should 🎉
I’m glad that you enjoy cartoons. I’m built in a similar way, I could happily watch them all day.
There are no age related rules. It’s some laughter, fun and escapism, reminiscing no doubt but that’s another joy watching cartoons can bring sometimes. 💟
It’s my way of thinking only. 🙃
Hey brother you're not the only one that I enjoyed this show in its time I was 12 0r 13 and I watched as a child. I'm 56-year-old kid that just saw the finale 2 days ago. I wish this show would have shown what happened to the characters after they finally made it home. THE ONLY ONE THAT STAYED WAS PRESTO
I’m rewatching this show 10 years later. It really is as great as I remember.
20:20 Likewise, Venger
So be it.
When I watched that as a kid, I got chills
I did too Duane Chandler. I got them again hearing Ranger telling Venger likewise!
Yeah, I got chills myself from hearing that again, just now!!
What a very sad and thought provoking ending.
This cartoon was very mature for a kids show as if the the writers were dealing with adult themes.
taught 80s kids much more than the garbage cartoons of today !
The show had been on long enough, and the characters developed well enough to deepen things. It wasn't I think just about trying to introduce more adult themes, but represented a confidence and growth in the show as a whole. They knew we loved the characters. I really appreciated the quality of this cartoon provided to us for free on a Saturday morning. This episode, The Dragon's Graveyard and Dungeon at the Heart of Dawn ring as my favorites. It exuded quality without being shoved in our faces.

20:53. Wow. That's the first time I've seen Dungeon Master cry.
Yes! And that's the explanation for why he brought the kids here; He's a Dungeon Master who lost control of one of his own creations (that being Venger), and he brought the kids here to stop Venger.
@@joshuaclabeaux1470 Venger was Dungeon Master's son. Did you know there is a sister? Kareena.
@@fedr39 - I remember that episode. But I never thought about that girl in terms of any relationship with Dungeon Master - like her being his daughter. Somehow it feels like a plot hole or loose end that's left unaddressed.
@@manofsan Vengers stat sheet says she is his twin sister but that’s as far as it goes with it, and she doesn’t have one of her own so yeah very odd…
@@dagimmic774 - I've moved on to worrying about Vecna's stats, or the demo-gorgon's
"Make friends with Venger... Oh, sure! How are we supposed to do that?"
"Buy him another horn for his helmet?"
Thank you for pointing that out! I've always wondered about the asymmetry of that helmet. XD
I actually laughed out loud on that line.
I have always thought about that horne as his horne, not as a helmet horne .. XD
@@chicoplateado In that case there must be a story of how he lost his other one. XD
Hey, it was the '80s...Venger's fashion statement was just going along with the times
@@Interfaune Or didn't grow another one.
16:33 Venger's School Photo
LOL!
Gotta love Vengers little speech of "beware when you speech of magic, wizard, or we shall see who has the greater power". A few episodes later, presto fricking pinned him to a wall XD
after presto's powers were amplified in the dragon's grave yard
Frank Kepler true, but Venger was an experienced necromancer/warlock/whatever you call it, and Presto was still an unexperienced teenager in a strange world. If anything it leveled the playing field.
Precisely
What's ironic aside from the obvious potential for power that Presto has is next to him it should be Sheila. I mean seriously if she'd start dual-wielding daggers in combination WITH invisibility then she COULD become a real terror...
Gotta to agree with Frank. The graveyard boosted the power of the kids tremendously. Also, Venger was facing the whole gang, not just Presto
12:45 Tardos sure is one fancy looking platueside fortress city! Looks like it's built within a MASSIVE cave system with several levels going up or down, with marvelously carved marbeled architecture, not to mention beautiful gardens and shimmering, crystal blue pools of water.
It's bigger on the inside, like the Tardis. :-)
When Venger says "Afraid?" to Ranger, it was kinda funny.
Venger...you are an epic and underrated villain, much like some others I'm very familiar with.
Michael Reaves truly was an amazing writer.
"Not even you can break through the wall Venger. Its been strengthened by stone and spell for a thousand years."
"I don't have to. Have you forgotten that I can fly? " *Whiffussu* "Ah, this window is the perfect size."
Spell on the windows zap Venger to a crisp.
Venger saw he couldn't pass using magic or brute force so he used the power of science, using the principle of thermal expansion with Demodragon's fire and ice breath, to weaken and break the doors. Honestly, great thinking.
I need a movie.
One thing I always wondered is why did the children never keep any of the treasure/items or mounts (even when I was younger and Dungeons & Dragons ruled Saturday morning cartoons)
The ending scene of Dungeon Master grieving is a prelude to the last unaired/scripted episode (viewable on YT). People should watch it. It gives a good conclusion to the series. It should have been broadcasted.
The episode is on YT very good story
What is it called?
@@rosalindshays5679 "Requiem" it is very well done. Should be attached here now.

8:11 Venger growling in frustration
8:14 "Solanara... YIELD to me your treasure..." XD
8:23 Diana marveling at Queen Solinara's resolve
8:28 Venger getting p*ssed...
11:08 "The weapons. Trisha! Now!" LOL! j/k 😂
7:15 Love the black-and-gold uniforms of the soldiers!
The magic talisman looks more like a magic pizza LOL
Classic Saturday morning cartoons...
😎💨 Most excellent!
Of course Tardo's has a different connotation now.
in this cartoon, venger says "how do you say......" instructing shadow demon to "assist" the kids, and in the very next episode (the city at the edge of midnight) the "king of many kings" uses the exact same phrase (with added scripting on the end)
Everyone makes mistakes... venger was mine... pfff wow. This line runs deep
A movie about this franchise would be the next lord of the rings.

I loved watching these as a kid.
Always wanted to know if they ever do find their way home...and what would they be doing TODAY in 2018
If I thought they would do it "right", I'd go see a movie about them all grown up in the real world with their families. And their kids get sucked into *the realm* and they have to "revisit" the realm to rescue them!
In the final "unaired" script, they had the choice of going home or staying in the realm.
A fanmade final episode was recently released on YT search Requiem
They never made it home... they're still there
Yes they do look up episode requiem all will be revealed presto stays in the realm though
Just search for the TV commercial…
This isn't the only time the Little Rascals forged an alliance with Venger. And Dungeon Master giving the kids the dragonbane necklace and his speech at the end... there's something tormenting him too
15:41 Toei's Marvel's stamp of approval.... Spidey's web sling!
I know that Filmation used that roar (for Demodragon) but it's gotta to be one of my favourite sound effects of all time.
4:00 Eerie as F.
This show was made by Sunbow, not Filmation. But yeah, that monstrous roar sounds legit spooky - especially when you see the landscape's been both burnt and frozen.
The treasure of Time And Relative Dimension Of Space.
Surprised no one's liked this comment before now. They sort of referenced the Tardis in the Quest of the Skeleton Warrior, the tower is far larger inside than it is outside. idk but I'm guessing the DnD Nerd/God creator Gary Gygax was probably a Dr.Who nerd too?!?! :D
This was a great episode - hilarious and serious at the same time.
Did anyone else find the bit when they were running past the orcs into the Citadel the first time very subtlely surreal. First Sheila does the shortest invisibility ever just to join people by a rock, then Uni sneezes to alert Shadow Demon, then Bobby gets called "an alien".
technically the kids are aliens in that world, so it does make sense to call them that
"Oh, I get it! Something burned down the trees and froze the river!"
Thank you, Captain Obvious. In other news, I ALSO have eyes.
As if Eric would last five seconds on his own, boy get your butt back with the ones with good magical weapons
Oh, Eric wouldn't have gotten much farther away. He can be arrogant and whiney sometimes but his common sense kicks in when it's needed.(usually)
He's not 100% coward nor is he stupid. He knows he needs his friends just as much as his friends need him.
(edit)
If Sheila hadn't headed him off, he probably would have been chased back by an "off screen" noise or the like. (better to die with your friends than all alone)
I could write a character education curriculum for middle school kids with this.
HAHAHA!!!!"buy him another horn for his helmet"
Of all the bad Guys of Bad Guys, Venger was very respectful, blunt, and never ever went back on his allies.
He was shady as all get out, but always fulfilled his word, then he would say" Now I have kept my word back to goals of conquest give it to me or else!"
He cared in his psycho power hungry way like when DM was captured he was "I see you live "Old One" translation "Dad you can not let some hack defeat you, you have to live to see me surpass you and take control of the realm Daddy!" he was a villain that proved you could be bad and still have manners!
I always wondered who his mom was?
He is very Lawful Evil looks like.
Tiamat maybe??? 😁
@@mxyzptlk3825 I always thought he was purposeful. So many people use lawful evil as a descriptor for a sub-par villain, but Venger is above the average I have a grudge villian.
And he had a sister who turned to the Dark Side as well. Something about the parental skills of DM? :)
@@TitoTheThird I believe Venger and his sister thought Dungeon Master didn't wield his power to demonstrate his strength enough.
Both of his children knew he as an extremely powerful being, yet saw his choice to wield his power only when necessary may have seemed odd, as this is a magical realm. This poses several questions If you have magic, how and why do you use it, additionally does not an ability to use magic suggest, that magic exists to be used and used well ? DM choose to rule with reserve, wit and power rather than power alone others may view this as a flaw.
Dungeon Master never used magic for mundane purposes, which suggests he knew not to follow into the trap of depending on magic for challenges he can solve without magic. I notice both his children had this attribute in common with him. Dungeon Master wielded power with wisdom and kindness. His children chose to wield power with skill cunning and ruthlessness.
He and his children disagreed on the style of using power and magic. They were different people if you grow up witnessing your father as one of the most powerful magical beings in the realm, you will develop ideas on how to use your own power when you grow into your own abilities.
You may agree or disagree with your parent's life at any age.
So let me get this straight. Venger is Optimus Prime... and the damn unicorn is Megatron?
Haha pretty much 😂
Yup
Yessir
and Tiamat.
Both Peter cullen and Don messick did many character voices in the cartoon. Not Just Prime and Megatron in TF G1
You know if you binged watched this show and took a shot Everytime someone said 'hes gone!' when dungeon master dissapered you'd probably be dead
An unexpected, profound and beautiful ending. Wonderful episode.
"You have destroyed that which I created. How, I am not yet certain."
"Uh, I just bashed it with a rock."
"No, you idiot, Demo-Dragon."
“Like what, buy him another horn for his helmet?”
These kids have no chill.
I used to believe that Dungeon Master created Tiamat such as Venger created Demo Dragon in order to defeat or controling Venger, but Tiamat was so powerful that couldn´t be controlled by Dungeon Master and remained free doing her will as pleasures her ... but not, Tiamat is a Goddess who takes the form of a five headed dragon, the mother and queen of the chromatic dragons and fights Venger aparently only beacuse she finds fun in persecuting and destroying the physic form of venger each time she has the oportunity to do it ... XD ...
PD: Tiamat is my favorite character in this show ...
Venger somehow killed of all adult dragons. That's why Tiamat wants him dead.
@@MultiLimpetwhich explains why she helped the kids when they expressed their desires to kill Venger.
3:51 That mark (on the animation cell?) looks like a genie emerging from a hole in the ice. I played on the lowest speed to pause on it.
He's right there's a 28 unaired episode where it shows that venger is in fact dungeon masters son he also becomes good again in the end of it and the kids go back home to there but i think the end up staying with dungeon master at the end of it.
bollocks
Batty Boop hi
Codswallop
I remember seeing that episode during one of the iterations of the re-runs. Distinctly recall the bit about Venger giving up and the part of him being Dungeon Master's son.
@Steven Schnepp No you don't actually remember anything of the sort. It simply doesn't exist. The creator says so, and I have all the episodes on DVD. You do realise that memory is fallible, right? There is an episode where the kids briefly make it home, but are pursued into our world by Venger, and are forced to return in order to get him back to The Realm. There was also a final episode scripted where Venger was revealed to be Dungeon Master's son, and where the kids are given the choice to either return home or stay in The Realm.
The final episode was never made. Your brain is playing tricks on you.
Read the end credits. Toi animation was apart of this show. Looking at it it dose have an anime feel
At 19:51 Venger spoke like a gangster. A real G !!!
Bit sad Dungeons master is the reason venger exists and he uses the Kids tryin to fix things up.
1:55 Now that was a cool looking water monster!
For some reason I don't recall this episode. For the quibbles I had with this cartoon from the start, I certainly enjoyed it.
That magic bow is either like incredibly useful and do everything, then will be amazingly ineffective when they need them all to run, or be captured
One of the Most sensitive stories in Dungen Master''s life
I love your strory a lot all the episodes.thanks
21:02 when your homebrew villain turns out to be to strong :'(
Fav episode top 3.... I gotta get that bow
Wait what did dm mean by saying venger was his mistake? That he was once good?
Jesse Hitman I figured at least DM's apprentice once upon a time
That's his apprentice
In Requiem, the finale, it's revealed that Venger is Dungeon Master's son.
Dungeon Master also has a daughter named Karina. In one episode where she tricked Sheila into getting the other magical ring for her. She was pretending to be her friend but.......
@@laceneil4570 Actually that was revealed sooner, in the episode: The Dragon's Graveyard. After Hank releases Venger and Venger falls to his knees, Dungeon Master goes to him, he says, "Rise, my son."
The battle is soon to follow when you hear the drumbeat then the horns playing the D&D battle theme!!! Even Venger's mystic energy blasts sound more powerful with the battle theme!!!
Demo dragon was a menace
I like how they just hear Demodragon but don't see it.
I’m curious what dvd set this was taken from. I ask because I have both the BCI & Millcreek versions, and I recall the Millcreek version have a glitch of static at one point we’re Bobby & Uni are searching for their friends
I love to see how they got back home
why did i actually crack up laughing when dm called venger a mistake
Dragon Vain is to Deimos as Medusa head is to the Kracken...lol
They should have brought timet to battle demo dragon 🐲
THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN EVERY BIT FASCINATING ! But than again, too time-consuming for the length of these episodes. And its' Tiamat
Would've LOVED to see HER as well in "DUNGEON AT THE HEART OF DAWN"!
@Miles Goodison-Fearon Tiamat Wins! FATALITY!
eric is so funny
13:53 his line delivery here is funny but what is more funnier is Uni’s facial expression at his vulgar remark, from the gift she received
16:10 Even when I first watched this back in the day I thought they were being seriously short sighted......after all if that was all it would take to stop demodragon surely Venger would be able to do it himself........
Heck with Venger doing the job. Where was Tiamat? Now she would have killed any half demon/dragons.
Venger couldn't get any dragonsbane.
@@ConsiderTheCrowsYes,I know but my point was that when the kids went to him he gave them an amulet that he claimed could stop demodragon,if it had been that simple he could have done it himself. That should have tipped them off that he was pulling a fast one.
@@Dan261178 Not necessarily because Demodragon is ready for Venger but would most likely ignore little humans. So Hank figured they could get closer than Venger with the "weapon".
Poor Dungeon Master.
I wonder what is the origin of Venger and how did he became bad?
Oke lets talk people.. should there not be a remake 2019 version of this awesome serie, what do you think?
Heck yeah... complete the series
No, because of PC and wokeness would give us nothing but cringe.
@@dinordo If you look up Dungeons and Dragons Requiem fan made, you will see the final episode. The story was written by the creator of the series and and was a audio story, but some fan actually made a cartoon faithfully to the series. It actually is very good and gives us an actual ending to the series.
1:25 How in Bahamut's holy name does THAT come out of such shallow water?
Dungeon Master : "Because I said so."
How are you answering me?
It was afraid and running from Demodragon so it's kinda like when creatures venture out of their usual territories due to something bad happening.

Eric is the best thing about this show. He cracks me up every episode. 🤣🤣🤣
Why do I get the feeling as though Demo-Dragon was a proxy name until the writers came up with a name as cool as Venger or Tiamat? They never came up with a decent name for Dungeon Master or Shadow Daemon so I guess it’s academic?
Honestly, I could definitely see a creature called Demodragon in actual D&D, let's be honest, not all names are the most creative. But at least it's sounds cool.
Venger greatest enemy was tiamat the dragon, why was he afraid of this dragon.? Why did dungeon master having theses kids do all theses tasks, knowing he can destroy venger when ever he wanted to.? He created venger, the story line is missing pieces some important stuff
It's bigger on the inside.
4:00 Ranger's reaction to the burnt forest and frozen lake: "I get it, something did this!"
Wow, great insight there champ 😣
I like venger in this episode
I had forgotten the easter egg allusion episode telling viewers about the family connection of Venger, DM, Kareena.
