Everyone gave Eric shit, but in hindsight....caution is a pretty rare but interesting trait for a dnd player. But most importantly...he was the one that paid attention to what the DM said and even TOOK NOTES.
Damn nice to see.
It's fun to rewatch this and count how often Eric is right. It's most of the time. Probably because the primary antagonist is a shapeshifter so some skepticism is needed.
@@Aethelia Plus, originally Eric was supposed to be right most of the time. Standards and Practices made the writers invoke the "Complainer is always wrong" trope on Eric due to them trying to push the teamwork and groupthink ideal.
That spell Venger used on Kelek is called Imprisonment. It incases you in a sphere, freezes time, then goes I think 100 miles below the Earth for 100 years.
Ad&d players haha
Does that mean he is a Warloche casting Eldrich Blast and Chains of Carceri? I mean by 5e rules at least. Because if so, I just found a new NPC.
@@Fafinyr o up
@@sheakennedy-ordway1156 Well its possible, after all it could be said that his "Patron" was the Nameless one who appeared in another episode and whom Venger called "Master" so it would make sense.
This episode, Hall of Bones, and The Dragons Graveyard were absolutely fantastic. Wish I could go back and see them all again for the first time.... one of the best animated shows of its day.
I'll add Prison Without Walls to that list. GenX 🙋
I also love City at the edge of midnight
20:19 I really like the fact that the wolves were not portrayed as being inherently evil
"Somebody's gettin' in trouble!" = best line of the series.
16:24 maybe Venger’s not such a bad guy - he obviously likes puppies! 😄
Everyone loves puppies
20:24 I really like that the wolves were not portrayed as being in inherently evil
why say this twice?
The dialogue in these 80's cartoons for kids is more refined than that of movies for adults today. What wonderful memories these cartoons bring back!
The writing was more complex and subtle, then. Now everything is dumbed down to the point of boredom--and they wonder why kids have no attention span anymore.
Prestos unholy screech of terror is the most beautiful thing I've ever heard.
I don't know what it is about that music. It's so damn nostalgic I can barely stand it.
The way the music swells when Uni comes running out of the waterfall at the end....just amazing animation and direction. I was bawling.
Ugh. Even Star Wars isn't Star Wars.
I don't know what it is about that music. It's so damn nostalgic.....
Brent's Lucky Slot Channel Me too! 40 next year and this still gets me every time! They don't make em like this anymore!!!
Always a blast when two baddies fight.
One of the best wizard battles in the whole series. :)
Wolf Wizard really gave Venger a fight.
I'm sure Venger was sore for a few weeks after that.
There was some major blasts from both Kelek and Venger!! Funny, Venger's energy blasts were Red, most of the time they were the same as Kelek's a light Blue!!
Venger with a last second Kellick impression lol
Those puppies should all be guardians now living their 2nd adulthoods.
Thank you so much for posting these! This was my favorite cartoon when I was a kid!
This is a terrific episode,...one of my faves in the series 👍
Who knew Diana could use her pole as a sort of club just like Bobby. That's pretty cool. I love how Diana's the comic relief in this episode or at least the leader of it.
Gotta give Kellick props for having the best evil castle in the series. A bit much for one guy and his dogs though...
And anyone else check Hank moving on Sheila at the end? I guess being leader has it's perks.
Kelek
I always got the feeling that those two were on their first group date at the amusement park when this happened
In one of the first episodes (the prison suspended on chains above the volcano) I saw Diana leaning against Hank.
Amusement Parks back in The 80's was Everything. And it so happened that D&D captured the Feeling.Of High impact Adventure.😎👍🏾
This was one of the first episodes I remember…and my favorite. Such epic imagery!
Kelek reminds me of one of my managers who finally showed some backbone on the day he flipped everyone in off and quit. I wasn't the only one cheering.
One of my favorite episodes.
Probably the episode that has stayed with me the most.
PRESTO: aww geez do we have to let him lose? It's been so peace & quiet without him😆😆😆😆😆
This is my favorite episode. I thought it was disturbing how Venger imprisoned Kelek after he lost his battle with Venger..
Maybe it was to protect the others from him
Who would have thought you would see Imprisonment cast in a cartoon!
Yeah and that MASSIVE Briar Barricade spell he had in effect around the castle was pretty boss too...
Or, as was originally invented by Jack Vance ... Forlorn Encystment ...

So cool.
I wish they made an Action figure of Venger hes one of the most coolest villians ever.
Somebody should make one.
This this show was a 3-year success on Saturday mornings they should have made action figures.
I'm surprised nobody didn't make this into an videogame; with these characters. Today's technology, maaaayn I could see this being mind blowing!
@@wiglafsfilms8418 like Skyrim with a more focused storyline. That would be great.
Well, 3D printing is readily available and cheap these days, I’d be surprised if someone hasn’t.
A great vintage cartoon. The plot and the development between a weaker villain able to overtake the heroes "easily" versus the greater and " most powerful" villain, who's been unable to do so under any circumstance, still doesn't really make sense, but we enjoyed it anyways. It's just classic fantasy D&D for the times and we loved it all.
The Avenger has already surpassed the heroes several times, the difference is that he wants their weapons, as a source of power, precisely to increase his own and dominate Tiamat.
With Tiamat under his control, the Avenger will have enough power to fight even the Dungeon Master.
Kalik with the horns would gain great power, but we don't know if he would really have enough power to dominate the entire kingdom.
Venger
So... When faced by an enemy that isn't Venger, they need to call on Venger to defeat him - love it! 👍 Great episode - wish we could have seen more of the spell battle between Venger and Kellek, though...
Aww, Uni is so cute!
Awesome!! I am practicing my listening with Dungeons & Dragons!!!
9:50 the scene makes me weak😭 it's so sweet and sad!
Best cartoon on TV ever couldn't wait to get home from school to watch it you would have to wait till next week for next episode best days 👍
Lol..what do you know, sometimes hopes also name is venger ...well atleast for time being..for few mins, the way venger intruded kelek from his process and rescued kids is one of the nostalgic thing of D&D..
Dungeons & Dragons aired two different times on CBS. It was one of the programs that aired on Saturday mornings and ran between 1983 and 1986. 1 year later, it it then briefly reran on the network during the summer of 1987. 3 years later, it was followed another brief return on the network in the first half of 1990, as a mid-season show filler for Rude Dog And The Dweebs. About 20 years later, Harry Potter mania helped the show returned to the air, moving to Fox's Fox Kids block, on Saturday mornings & weekday afternoons as a 1999-2000 mid-season replacement filler, from April 30 to October 5 of 2000, but alas, no new episodes were produced. Dungeons & Dragons also returned to the air after many years' absence.
Prestos sales pitch to Venger was a stroke of luck when he mentioned Kellick using the power of the unicorn 🦄 horns against him.
Amazing how some wizards, sorcerers and warlocks have that much real estate for a castle like Kellick does. Or if they use magic to make them. Love the ending in this eps. Still one of the best 80s cartoons of it’s time.

Valley Of The Unicorns Was
Cool. Next Episode 5 Tomorrow.

when i was 6 year old i was really love this animated cartoon
Them feels thou
I believe the adult is a Ki rin. A kind of angelic unicorn. Similar in power to a Quetzalcoatl. The feathered serpent of Aztec myth.
I’m watching this on a Saturday morning and oh it feels so great
This Kelek is clever for a 80's side villain
With Venger being turned back to good at the end of the series maybe Kelek will become the main antagonist?

If they ever wanted to revive the show, god I wish
Don't mess with Venger!
He'll turn you into a marble!
3:06 This is so sad! 😢
This were really magic duels ...!
Vengers a badass
James Lower. no tiamat is the real bad ass
Always wanted to see:
Venger vs. Maleficent
Tiamat vs Godzilla
@kedabro1957 LOL....They would make such beautiful babies together.
Listen to Venger's energy blast @ 17:31 - the soon to be Megatron's fusion cannon.
YOU ARE CORRECT SIR, YEAH!!! Many sound FX used in G1 transformers. Peter cullen VA Venger and other characters in the show. Don Messisk VA (Uni, Tiamat and others
And he later becomes a robot that can change into a truck.
Co-written by Paul Dini, who helped write and create Batman: The Animated Series.
17:29 - that grin on Venger's face said "I'm enjoying Kellek's erstwhile moment of thinking he's got me"... 17:36 - Venger is now thinking, enough humour - now I'm going to trash this guy
10:03 - STRENGTH SAVING THROW! STRENGTH SAVING THROW!
Love this episode! 🦄
Me too. The music at the end where Uni runs back to them is almost filmic
Is it wrong that I kinda loved Kelek. Even with him being imprisoned for all time at the end of the episode.
14:54 ...DEATH!!!! But I guess you can't say that.
Thanks for the upload.
My favorite cartoom
16:39 Kelek: "Oh, crap!"
19:18 was that the voice of kellek used for venger ? might have been an error there ...
exceptional upload Dungeons & Dragons TV. I broke that thumbs up on your video. Maintain up the very good work.

Ok, that little squeak was so cute

The fate of one is shared by all! Damn...why didn't he catch that?
I love Eric 💘 . . .
14:42 Bruh 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Okay Presto's doing Wild magic... the most unreliable magic in the realms...
He summoned an Aircraft Carrier once :)
Also, this Episode aired 40 years ago today October 8th 1983!
16:25 SO CUTEEEEE!♡♡♡
"Then all shall call me Master!" sounds like Metallica's Master of Puppets song at 9:41 .
I'll just call Venger here and...
YOU'LL WHAT??? NO!!! NO!!!
Waiting for keleks neca figure if we got warduke and strongheart can we get him aswell. And good to know paul dini origin before he became batman animated series verteran
Normal nothing is stupid enough to attack a Unicorn. They have Angels as back up. Along with most every being in the Fey Wild. However this wizard was lucky he was in a world that was closed off from everything else.
I’m sure all of the wizards of this series , are the red wizards of thay....from the forgotten realms
2:32
Y'know that almost sounded like an echo?
Ranger barbarian magician cavalier & acrobat!!
Don't forget Thief!
@@Brightonbarnes1980 yep!

Lil bro is anti-horn poaching while wearing that hat? Ok Bobby...ok dude..
Cool, wargs.
When did they saved the wolf puppies?
Easter Egg Diana calls Eric "Mouth "
Eric is played by Donny Most who played Raloh Malph
Eric the boss 13:17
Presto's hat casts wish.
3:20
Why does Venger only have one horn growing from the back of his head?
***** Actually I guess it could be a symbol that he is incomplete! After all, he needs the kids' weapons to full increase his power, so maybe his powers are incomplete, and therefore his change from a man to a demon is not finished! Thanks for that! :-)
+WolfieMcMuffin Watch epi 18 Day of the Dungeon Master. Check out 6:45. There is a statue of Venger and it seems Venger once had TWO horns when that statue was made.
WolfieMcMuffin He was probably good when he had two horns. One horn and the wings symbolize his fall to evil.
It's probably as simple as him looking too devilish for a children's cartoon if he had two horns. With only one it just looks like a decoration, or as a being he's somewhat warped.
@@barryb301 that was venger's master.

Liked this episode but was never a fan of Uni or Bobby. The other unicorns were adorable though.
The cry of little bobby at minute 19:55 look like the cry of Dave from TOTAL DRAMA PAHKITEW if Bobby would having growth voice. But and Presto look like the fake wizard at TOTAL DRAMA PAHKITEW.
This MANDELBOX castle of unicorns is simmilar with the castle of dark witch from movie NEVERENDING STORY II
6:22 Animations by Toei were cheap even in 1983.
I hated that Damn Unicorn. Hoping there’s a crossover where Voldemort came over to drink Uni’s blood.
Jennifer Garcia lol
I hated how Diana was even MORE of a b___h towards Eric than usual in this episode... :/
hey f you i love uni lay off the lil gal!
Hated uni too and stupid Snarf
As far as annoying sidekicks go, Uni isn't too bad. I'd probably take him over Orco or Snarff.
