Correction: the pass name is Hurricane, not Hurrah which is in Utah. The drone shot credited to my Son @michaelcharliedelta. He rode the pass a week earlier on 800GS Adventure. See his COBDR on his channel.

I posted the same question down in the comments but reposting here hoping for a reply. Are you using an adjustable midrange screw to keep the DR happy at high altitude?

I have not touched the carb in any way since set up at near sea level. Procycle carb kit with opened air box, LeoVince exhaust. It did fine both on the TAT in 2019 and since. Sounds crazy!

Very impressive seeing you climb Ophir Pass from the West side. Congratulations JR on succeding this well known difficult Pass. You're a great inspiration for me to live more adventure on my motorcycle. I greatly appreciate your video for I plan to do the COBDR next summer. I think Ophir Pass will be my biggest challenge on that route. Just hope that the weather will be as good as you had with minimal traffic. Can't wait to see your next video with Brock Gill. ''Less fear, more adventure!'' Great content from you as always. Thank you so much.

JR & DR, dual sporting beast! Great job of riding those incredible mountain trails. When they look steep on the camera, they ARE steep. You captured beautiful video of the mountains in all their splendor. Just stunning. Video editing and music top notch. I'm stunned that people are that clueless driving their cars on those roads. Cheers!

I first rode Ophir Pass in 2003 and the upper section was far better condition. I heard locally that the maintainers leave it less improved for the off road types. It use to be considered one of the easier passes but from your video, corkscrew looks easier. Great video.

I’m a ‘returning rider’ at age 66. Had a street bike in the ‘80s, that was a long time ago! Would like to do some motocamping and plan to do the Pennsylvania BDR-X this summer, which is dirt/gravel roads. I’m shopping for a dual sport, the Honda CRF300L is a good one but the Yamaha TW200 might be safer for me, although that bike can’t really do interstate highways. I don’t care much for street riding at this point, really just want to be off road in the backcountry. Thanks for the inspiring content!
