Great song. At the end of the song, he would give the rose covered glasses he was wearing and give them to somebody in the audience. His son served in the Marines, he wrote and performed the song" They Also Serve" for military families. Watch the video very touching.
I just saw John Conlee live a couple of weeks ago. Extremely good showmanship. Every song has a story, and he was very good at telling the story. His voice is still amazing!!!! Very talented band members!!!!
A real heart felt song by him is a lot of things different. The video is best to hear it by. Miss Emily's picture is another that will pull on your heart strings.
My favorite is "l don't remember loving you." John also does a good version of "Busted". He has many good songs. He also had a working farm. Not sure if he still has it today.
I took those glasses off along time ago its not worth it if its meant to be it a be if its not its not worth the effort its just a waste of energy when its not to be you cant change what dont wont changed its a true waste of time in those situations.
I don't feel like 80s country is appreciated as much as it should be and John Conlee is one of my favorites from that time. This is his biggest hit (from 1978, I believe). But I think he has many better songs. My favorite is "Old School".
