Vince is very, very loved in the country music community because he is so talented and also so humble, sweet and caring!!!! Just a really great human being!!!
Vince Gill is also one of the big name artists I’ve seen be most willing to stand back on stage and help someone else sound good in the spotlight. He’s incredibly skilled at harmonizing and at playing backing guitar and at reassuring nervous young performers. He plays with The Time Jumpers on Monday nights in Nashville, and they regularly invite young new artists on stage to give them a chance to shine - The Time Jumpers are the best studio musicians in Nashville, and they have the right to have huge egos, but like Vince they’re happy to yield the spotlight.
Given that the majority of the Eagles vocals and instruments are pre-recorded one would hope that Vince is part of the minor percentage that is live. The Eagles, Fakin' Fantastic Money Over Credibility Tour 2024 $$$$.
@@sg-yq8pmYou took some videos claiming Henley lip synced Desperado and jumped to the conclusion the whole band is miming. You must be exhausted from all that leaping.
Vince is what every man should strive to be. So kind, great personality, humble, etc just an all around amazing person. Just the the way he talks in such a calming, gentle manner would give anyone the confidence and uplifting feeling they need to get through anything. Take care!
This is a small thing about Vince Gill but now you can see why he was such a beautiful and graceful host of the CMA awards so many years in a row. Lovely man. Great talent. Check out WHEN I CALL YOUR NAME, and THE HEART WON'T LIE w/ Reba are good Gill oldies.
No Autotune, no naked dancing girls, no neato light shows - just pure, raw talent, for which he got a well-deserved standing ovation. Also..... Vince couldn't do that without a first-rate backup behind him.
I walked into Gruen Guitars in Nashville one day, and Vince Gill was there, picking on a banjo. He was very "down home" and easy to talk to. A real gentleman!
I was born and raised in Oklahoma and like many Generation Xers I was a die hard rocker until I graduated high school and the 90’s! A bunch of Okies came out of Oklahoma at that time and these people changed many of our minds! This song was played in Oklahoma a lot in the 90’s and it was so much fun to 2 step too! He was one of many Okie country music stars that changed my mind about country! As you can tell I am very proud of of all the singers and songwriters that came from my state because there’s many that came from here, and they represent our state well and how so many of us are! ♥️♥️♥️♥️💯💯💯
I love Vince. He is the reason I love country music. You can't go wrong with anything this man does. I have seen him many times and concert, and I recommend seeing him. Prue Prairie League, solo artist, and now an Eagle.. Love Love Love him.
I am a huge fan of Vince. And he is still so busy. He has been like country music's ambassador for a long time and just seems to evolve. He has always said he is a musician first and what he really wanted to be. Guitar playing, voice, writing and his personality. A major collaborator with hundreds of other artists. For the earliest video of him look up Pure Prairie League on American bandstand or Ausin City Limits. Before he was famous as Vince Gill solo artist. Also the only person they considered to carry on with the Eagles.
Country music has many of the BEST guitar players in the world!!!! However, every time you see someone's list of the best players in the history of the world, they are always Rock or Blues. So, us country guys know where the amazing guitar players are, and others are shocked when they discover it!!!
My favorite Vince Gill song is When I Call You're Name. He is awesome and plays a killer guitar. He was with the group Pure Prarie League and left to pursue a solo career. He's got a ton of great music.😊
my all-time hero... I got to see him twice now in Nashville, last year I got to see him in the Bluebird with about 60 people and it was one of the highlights of my life! lovely man and a serious musician, I even got to meet and shake his hand and get a picture. It was worth the trip from Ireland just for that.
What a great video! My dad was a musician and a good friend of Chet Atkins from their WNOX days in Knoxville, Tennessee. He called him “Chester”. I enjoyed this video so much! Vince is certainly amazing! Thanks!
This was years ago! Everybody loves Vince Gill! If not I can’t understand why. Some say with his women’s tenor, he says he’s got a big pretty house because of it! I love his voice! George Jones loved him too, he called him sweetpea ❤😊❤I could listen to him sing the phone book and love it!
Favorites performance. Early 2000’s in Vegas at South Point casino. He had a new record coming out. He doesn’t play the usual 90 minutes. He played every song he ever knew. Vince was pulling out sheet music from songs he played 20 years ago. The concert went on for 4 hours. Just him. No opening act.
Reminds me of when I saw Paul McCartney. Can’t say he played every song he knew. But played a solid three hours. And ended his third encore, telling us to “go home. Seriously. Go home. We’re out of songs!!! So please go home”. Haha.
Sebs, he was imitating a steel guitar sound with those licks. You can hear Joe Walsh use that technique on some of the Eagles' songs over the years. It's an entire learning experience on the guitar, but it's so satisfying when you get it right.
That TV show on A&E, "Live by Request," was produced by Tony Bennett. Another song from this same episode is "What the Cowgirls Do," and it's a completely different, rockier sound with amazing tones in the final solo. I predict you'll enjoy it!
Vince started out playing in blue grass bands when he was about 14, playing different instruments. then he switched to rock then country. his wife is a well known gospel singer. not sure when he started learning but it must have been very early if he was a multi instrumentalist at 14 with popular bluegrass bands. with bluegrass being one of the hardest genres to play is quit impressive.
There was a tribute to Brian Wilson of The Beach Boy's with different artists performing songs Brian wrote. Vince did a rendition of The Warmth Of The Sun and it brought me to tears.
I’ve seen Vince several times, played golf in a tournament that he played in, met him several times when I lived in Nashville. I saw him in Yakima WA with Larry Stewart (Restless Heart) and with Patty Loveless in Kennewick WA. Both were great shows, with multiple encores. He is incredible!
Hes the best! I believe he would rather pick than sing. Theres too many great songs to just pick one. Such a nice guy. Hes very well thought of ...and not hard on the eyes neither...lol. I guess my fav song..is whenever I call your name...❤❤
Like all Vince Gill songs. I saw him in concert with Patty Loveless as the opening entertainment. He ended the concert walked off stage. About half of the audience were already out when Vince came back onto the stage and jammed with his guitar for an hour. It was awesome
For Chet Aitkins to take the time to do that phone conversation is THE ultimate compliment! I just love listening to your reactions as a guitarist - makes my understanding of my favourite musicians so much more meaningful. And, I totally agree - perfect display of a Fender!
Vince Gill has been one of my top country guitarists for a lot of years. Literally ANY Vince Gill song is my favorite. Even from when he was with Pure Prairie League way back when. He's the first reason I wanted to buy a Telecaster.
Love every song that Vince sings, plays solo or with others. His song “Go rest high on that mountain “ is a great song that I have a very hard time listening to, because my younger brother died 2 years ago and it was played at his funeral, and that song fits my brother to a tee.
Loved Vinces early songs. He was one of tge first country singers I fell in love with. Randy Travis is my all time fave. Clint Black in that group too.
I’m loving watching you “discover” artists that I’ve seemingly known about since their beginning. You musta grown up on a small, distant island. Well, welcome home Sebs!!!
I saw Vince in the mid 70's with the bluegrass band Mountain Smoke. His flat-top skills were impressive for such a young man, who I think was still in his teens. ☮🧡🎶
Among Vince's many talents is he is an incredible comedian. He could make a living doing comedy. The song It's Hard to Kiss the Lips at Night .... That chewed your ass out all day long and the story around him writing it will leave you in tears of laughter. Please react to it and thank me later.
Vince's talent has no limits. He is an amazing singer, songwriter and as this video shows an incredible guitar player. I have seen him so many times in concert and have had the honor to meet him once. He is such a kind, sweet, humble man. God blessed him in so many ways and thankfully we get to enjoy every aspect of his gifts. Love him. Thank you for reviewing this video.
Without a doubt! I've never heard anything from Vince that wasn't great, but I think this song shows off his chops better than anything else. It's also a great rhythm lick that kind of transcends genres. I've heard it used quite effectively in a blues shuffle as well.
I was at Vinnie's concert on the day his hero Chet Atkins passed away. Amy had to come out to help Vince during Go Rest High at the end of the show because he was struggling. Happy to have seen Vinnie twice and both were great. He's also really funny. 😊
Vince Gill was given the nickname Sweet Pea by George Jones, they had a special friendship and Vince trying to sing Go Rest High on That Mountain at George's funeral was impossible for him he was so broken up.
Great reaction, Sebs Duran! Yes Our whole town in Canada loved Vince Gill! I am sure Vince would gladly admit who he learned this 'machine gun' guitar working from. His name is Albert Lee! An old British Guitar player. He played for Emy- Lou Harris and many many more. I believe they called him the 'hired gun' in Nashville! Enjoy!
My favorite Vince Gil "performance" is a video at his house where he's wearing a t-shirt and shorts and boat shoes- just super in your home being comfortable, let's have a jam session with half a dozen other guitar players in his living room. Down to Earth, giving everyone else there their due, and just having a good time.
I have to say, what with so many people talking about their favorite guitarists, that one of the very best is so often overlooked. I speak of Gordon Giltrap, the English guitarist and composer who put out some very incredible albums mostly in the 70's, like "Visionary" (1976), "Perilous Journey" (1977), and "Fear of the Dark" (1978). Check him out on UA-cam: "Heartsong", "Fast Approaching", "Fear of the Dark", so many more. I've always been so impressed by how many notes he can play in such a brief space, but what is more important is his accuracy in doing so. He is without question one of the greatest guitar players ever. But relatively unknown.
Check OUT "Don't Let Our Love Start Slippin' Away." Vince is a legend and a down to earth guy. He also toured with The Eagles, and he was in a group in the70s called Pure Prairie League. Check out "Amie" which he sang lead on with Pure Prairie League. Also check out a duet he did with his wife Amy Grant called "House of Love."
I saw Vince play this live last month in Nashville. Let me tell you, he has still got it. He played for 3 1/2 hours. No opener. Just hit after hit. And his band was incredible. And he’s funny as hell. He really does have it all.
I love Vince Gill so much! He has so many beautiful songs! One cool thing to me is that he graduated from my high school here in Oklahoma City, Northwest Classen.
I'm not even the biggest country fan (a few exceptions), but I think Vince Gill is amazing and by all accounts just a sweet human being. Don't fool yourself into thinking that he's only a country chicken picker. I have his box set "These Days", and each disc is a different genre. As long as it isn't Djent or Metal, he can probably do it. Wonderful reaction to a great song and artist!
Nobody bends the strings like Vince when he played lead. I can recognize his lead guitar playing just about anywhere just by hearing it.. I suggest you also check out Brent Mason. He was the premier session guitarist of Nashville for many years in the 1990s and 2000s. Played on just about everyone's records. He is a guitar vireos, Everything from Country to rock to jazz he does it with perfection. Check out just a few of his songs like, "Hotwired" and "Geared Up" . Also to see a live performance of Vince Gill and Brent Mason together playing, "Don't Try This At Home".
Hey there. Our town, Douglas, GA. Was hit hard by Helene. And we have just got cell service now. And I have really missed keeping in touch .. we had 11 fatalities in our County. 27 % power has been restored. And we were so blessed all of our trees blew away from the house. And I have missed yal !!!!! South East Georgia
I saw Vince play a long time ago, maybe 25 years ago in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, wonderful musician! Loved the look on your face Sebs when Vince was getting busy on that guitar towards the end 😄😍
How Rest High on that Mountain. He wrote the first verse about a friend and didn't finish it. A few years later he wrote the rest about his brother. Apparently he's added a last verse much more recently. It is such a beautiful song.
The comment about the speed of a banjo is real, his dad played banjo and guess where Vince learned to play from, check out The Key To Life preferably with a story about his father
Vince is a masterful guitar player and a great singer song writer, you need to listen to his song Pocket Full Of Gold, a sounding traditional country music song. Please give it a try. Thanks
Vince wife Amy Grant is a great singer .They did a song together Called" The House Of Love "before they were married. Vince is a master Guitarist ,great singer and song writer.
This song is my favorite from Vince. I am one of those whonis always recommending this performance or the one from crossroads which is a close second to this one, anytime someone reacts to Vince. Everyone is always reacting to his Love songs and Breakup songs, or Go Rest High, I Love his work with Carrie Underwood on How Great Thou Art, and I Love Oklahoma Borderline.
I've always loved all things Vince! IF you want to hear how well his voice has weathered.."I Don't Wanna Ride The Rails No More" is a fine example of that. I love your reactions! I remember when you thought you hated country now you're listening to the OGs.also, I've never seen you react to a Shenandoah song... you're missing out
Vince called him, "Chester", which is Chet Atkins real name. His style of playing is called "Chicken Picken' " By the way, check out more of Brad Paisley's guitar songs. He and Vince Gill have done some duos. Check out Brad and Vince doing "Working Man Blues" honoring Merle Haggard.
Vince is very, very loved in the country music community because he is so talented and also so humble, sweet and caring!!!! Just a really great human being!!!
It’s so exciting watching you getting to enjoy COUNYRY

Gill is amazing. He’s currently playing with The Eagles at the Sphere in Las Vegas. His superpower is he can play and sing just about any genre ❤
I saw him perform with the Eagles in 2018. He was a perfect fit.
Given that the majority of the Eagles vocals and instruments are pre-recorded one would hope that Vince is part of the minor percentage that is live. The Eagles, Fakin' Fantastic Money Over Credibility Tour 2024 $$$$.

My favorite is Nobody Answers When I Call Your Name...he is an Icon and a Legend!
Vince Gill is so good there is no way to pick a favorite, he does nothing bad
I actually met Vince Gill in 1992 on Christmas Day at his mom's house. He is like one of the sweetest humans I've ever met.
Did you know, that he was in the Folk Rock Group, Pure Prairie League and a year or so ago he also toured with the Eagles.
He's now an official member of the Eagles
wow i dint know that ~ i love pure prairie league & lost gonzo band ~
Vince is a local hero . We are very proud of our Okie boy ❤️

Yes, he was playing the electric guitar like a banjo. Great analogy!
He is epicly great. Absolutely phenomenal
There are a lot of videos of Vince Gill singing Lying eyes with the Eagles in the Shere in Vegas. He does the song justice.
Do NOT sleep on Vince Gill. Dude is a LEGIT guitar hero
Thanks
LOVE your Honest Reactions
Vince also recently toured with the Eagles as well. He's a very respected guitarist across all genres of music.

Faint of heart and If you ever have forever in mind are 2 great ones
This song is my favorite from Vince. I am one of those whonis always recommending this performance or the one from crossroads which is a close second to this one, anytime someone reacts to Vince. Everyone is always reacting to his Love songs and Breakup songs, or Go Rest High, I Love his work with Carrie Underwood on How Great Thou Art, and I Love Oklahoma Borderline.
One of the masters!
