I keep the setting at #1 (warmest)
Load about 80-90% of the freezer for maximum efficiency.
Avoid loading all 5 Cu Ft of food all at once. Put in 2 Cu Ft every 2-3 hours or so to avoid overloading the compressor.
**NOTICE**
If you move the freezer, leave in the same spot for at least 24 hours to allow the oil and refrigerant to settle back down to the compressor before plugging it in ! You can cause damage to the compressor if you move the freezer and plug it right away so avoid doing it.

Thinking about buying this freezer for my garage. With food prices increasing every day, it’s a good idea to have some extra storage.
This freezer was $129 a few weeks ago. Too bad I already had one.

any ice cream? how does that freeze in there? I dont want rock hard but firm and scoopable. SO- where to put that - in the middle of the freezer? top too soft maybe.
For ice cream, I would keep in the middle or the bottom of the freezer. The top is fine but it will take a while to freeze. I have ice packs for my lunchbox on the top of the freezer for easy access but I noticed it took a bit longer to freeze them with the low setting. Remember, heat rises and cold stay stagnant at the bottom and middle of the freezer. The closer you are to the door, the warmer the temperature will be due to physics and you opening/closing the door of the freezer which caused heat to move into the freezer.
Does your blue compressor light come on for a while then shut off for a while? I got mine yesterday and that's what it's doing. Frigidaire claims it's supposed to, if temperature is right, to keep compressor from running.
Green light = the freezer is on. Blue light = the compressor is on. The compressor should not be running if the freezer reached the set temperature. It's the same concept with your house air conditioner. The thermostat will turn the AC off when inside temperature reached the number you set on the thermostat.

Is it noisy, can I put in my sleeping room.
No. I would not put in the bedroom. It can be loud. This freezer should be in the kitchen/dining room or the garage. I can hear it pretty loud at night when everyone are sleeping
