Very nice, Jen. You do such a good job with organizing. I just inventoried and reorganized my chest freezer (looks the same size as yours) and used reusable grocery bags as well as two plastic crates. I posted the inventory on my refrigerator door so that it is easy to see what is available instead of stashing and forgetting like I'd done so many years before. Thank you for sharing your system with us!
Love, love your freezer especially how the 2 top bins slide across. Looks like you've set it all up for easy access which is what we want in a freezer. Those roller tubs from kmart are so handy. We have them in other areas of the house. Thanks for the video.
After your video on this last year, I used plastic tubs to organize our very small chest freezer (probably half that size). It has helped but some things are forgotten in freezer purgatory 🤣. I would really like to get an upright freezer
I have a 700L chest freezer, we call it “the coffin” which in order to find things needs to be organised. I have two slide baskets like yourself which are very handy plus the ledge on the right which holds my bread, bagels. I have bins for roasts, bins for pork, lamb, beef and chicken and one for overflow fruits and veggies. I have gaps at the back of the bins and put my seafood, bacon, pizza and the like here.my freezer below my fridge holds a mixture of fruits, French fries, veggies plus things bought in boxes at the supermarket like fish, chicken tenders and stuff. I freeze cheese, butter etc too. Have to be organised with freezers to make them work for you. I’m in Australia and shop Costco every six months, huge hauls, and bulk butchers for meat. Supermarkets get bulk tinned products, dairy etc but don’t shop very often other than for fresh fruit and veg. Love it too as hate weekly shopping and so nice just to have this all at home.
We have a 145 litre chest freezer out the back and we are always running out of room in there and it isn't organized Just bought a new one which is 324 litre and I'll be grabbing some bins from kmart when we get the new freezer just have to wait till it rocks up so I buy the right size ones
Much as I admire what you have done I know I would be filling up the vacant space & it would soon be totally unorganised & unusable. I also think you are not using the freezer in the most economical way. A full freezer is better & less ice will form. Nobody’s perfect including myself. I’m a freezer hoarder left to my own devices. I found, after several different organisational systems, the best way to organise my chest freezer was to use stackable IKEA bins that are colour coded (stickers which come with them) in different sizes to differentiate between foods. It leaves a little space on top that you should keep clear, but even that I find myself using from time to time, even though I know not to. Lifting the bins out is a doddle with their handles, if the space is kept clear. I’m learning not to overbuy & to quell my squirrel instincts! I keep a list of contents & cross off & add as I go. I cannot take credit for the idea that was found from “Jack of All” on utube. His chest freezer was bigger & could take more bins. My freezer is smaller, about the size of this one, but still works well. Measure your internal freezer dimensions before purchasing any bins & know what you have inside before buying more!
@@safiyyah2533 Hi, Hallbar bins. They come in different sizes. I put the deeper ones on the bottom & the smaller size stacks on top. They have lids & handles & come with large stick-on coloured dots. Do measure before purchase & check out the utube video from “Jack of All, how to organise a chest freezer” which is where I found the idea. He clearly shows how they work. In my chest freezer I found there was a little ledge on the side which I didn’t fill with a bin as it wouldn’t fit. Useful for pizza & bread & odd shaped foods. Try not to use the space at the top or you will have to remove those items to get to the bins. I have used it to freeze foods when I meal prep but be sure to keep an empty bin or use the ledge for that. Hope you find them as useful as I do. Keep a record of foods you put in & take out. Mine is a list of foods in categories but with several boxes to tick when something goes in & then the tick is crossed off when it comes out. I keep mine in the kitchen where food comes in, either by shopping or from the freezer & I can see if I need to replenish anything & I add it to my chalk board that I photograph before shopping. Keep space for new items. Sounds onerous but its not & it works.
It may not be economical for you, but this syatem would be ideal for me. It would save me the overwhelm of not being able to get to thing or the frustration of having to lift out heavy baskets with little room aroundme
Looks nice and neat but my freezer is always more full to capacity than what she has a lot of empty space since she only used the bottom row to pack stuff and a lot of space remained empty!
Hiya, we are from Half Moon Bay :) also SA Family. I'm looking also to get a chest freezer like this one. How does it hold up? Does it make noise? and biggest question what is your family size. As we are two adults and a four year hold child. Thanks
You have to see my freezer. It's full of own growed vegetables. I don't by frozen products, i make them by myself and then i put them into the freezer. I have a lot of fruits for "kompot" (a kind of juice with sugar for winter)
Great video! Just picked up a chest freezer in preparation of the US descending into full blown socialism/communism so I needed ideas on how to set it up. I see on your channel how you are an immigrant to NZ. I will be watching your videos as the Lord works in mysterious ways and brought me here. Thanks again.
Nice! Which freezer is this. I am looking into a energy efficient freezer that can keep my Frozen Healthy Choice meals frozen this way i dont have to cram then into my refrigerator freezer side which is quite narrow.
We just got a deep freeze and these are great ideas! Thanks! Oh, say, totally odd question, but did I just read about you in Anna McNuff's "Pants of Perspective?"

Do you think that a 395 Liter freezer is too much or too big for a family of 2? We already have 2 standing fridges with freezers but when there is a $5 food week here, I try to buy bulk! These freezers are okay but I can't lock them so the one I'm looking at to buy, has a lock on it...I can then stop the sister stealing meat when she comes up here at Xmas! :)But they want $80 delivery :) We get younger visitors sometimes who want to eat the food we have...before it was gangs of teenagers (daughter's so called "friends") on the smoke wanting to get a free feed! So I've kept them away - Covid-19 has really helped to keep them away! It will just help us be at least a month (or 2 ahead) food/meat wise...And save me money!
For those of us who live in metrically changed countries...cough cough the US...her feezer is about 13.7 cubic feet. Thanks for the video.
It's only half full. You could get stackable totes, and put a marker board above your freezer to write what's in each stack of totes.
I love your chest. Freezer. Will definately be copying this. Thank you
Those baskets look really good. You’ve made having a chest freezer easy to use.
Perfect timing we are getting a new freezer and i want to get it all stocked up
And you have a Kmart near you, lucky!

I wish I could get these in the US this would be perfect for my deep freezer. Great organization!
The us used to have these, but took them away, the upright ones are far too large, we need options in the us again!
