As a dental technician (the person who makes veneers for example) I would say to anyone who wants veneers to avoid them unless your tooth/teeth actually needs them for restorative reasons as opposed to getting them for cosmetic reasons.
Once you get veneers you can never reverse that decision, your teeth will be filed down permanently and you will have to spend the rest of your life paying for expensive dental restorations. Veneers are very fragile and prone to fracturing. They do not last a lifetime, in fact they will only last a couple of years before you likely need them replaced.
Also, maybe here in Europe this isn't such a common issue but if you do get veneers/crowns do not go for the whitest shade of teeth. It looks completely unnatural. We usually don't allow patients to see the full range of shades for this reason. Keep it natural.
This isn't supposed hate on Gigi or anything, I just want to offer some advice to people seeing this video who might be influenced to destroy healthy teeth for something like crowns or veneers.

I do agree. you'll never have your natural teeth back and that's insane if you think that they were healthy. At the end of day it's still prosthetics that you are wearing and I want to save that moment for the latest possible day.

I see what you're trying to say, but perhaps we shouldn't be so flip about it. The problem is that a lot of people get cosmetic surgery THINKING they're doing it for themselves but are subconsciously doing it to please other people. You just said yourself that you got veneers because you were comparing your teeth to other people with veneers and got tired of FaceTuning yourself. Comparing our perceived flaws with other people and then conforming to said look is not finding confidence and happiness. But to each their own I guess.

Selena Lopez Haha, well I’m glad my comment made you reevaluate your situation. Maybe you’ve done this already, but I’d use the money you were going to spend on the butt lift and get a personal trainer who can show you butt and leg exercises. Trainers are much cheaper than surgery and once you’ve seen them you can apply the knowledge you gain to your own routines. I hired a trainer once and considered it an investment in my health. Maybe you could even consult with a nutritionist who can show you butt-friendly foods! 😊I would just say look at the factors that are making you want to get cosmetic surgery before you do it. Write down the REASONS you’re doing it, not the perceived “pros” (i.e. a “better” butt). You’ll get a better picture as to WHY you’re doing it, and maybe in the end, you’ll ultimately decide it’s still something you want to do.

Yes, and it is common for the tooth to completely rot out without very regular check ups and high levels of maintenance. What's left of the tooth is close to the pulp, so cavities can travel very quickly and infect the tooth, leaving extraction as the only option. It's very common in aesthetic dental practice to replace a rotted veneered tooth with an implant. Which is very costly. If you're considering, I'd definitely keep price in mind!

Well... I have a lovely story to write. Firstly I got veneers 30+ years ago. They were not as streamlined and advanced as the ones now though. I did not know, is that you do have to get them redone at some point around 25 year mark.. that was just my situation. I didn’t k ow that and thought they lasted forever. Whatever though that was a bummer.
The story, is about when I went to the opera, and was decked out. I didn’t like the bag I was going to wear, so at the last minute I borrowed a perfect clutch from my mother. The opera was in full swing, I was loving it. It was dark, and I was feeling in my clutch for a tissue. As I’m routing around, I felt a mint- (my mom and I are altoid a holics) so I think,”bonus!” And I pop it in my mouth. I roll it around the mint in my mou5h, and realize instantly something’s up, in a bad way. I drop it into my hand and the lights go up, just light enough to see that I have a tooth in my hand, and it was just in my mouth!!! My mom lost a veneer when she was out the last time she wore the bag, and never through it away! It took every fiber of my being not to scream at the grossness level I was feeling! So yah, it was disgusting beyond words! Gagged just writing about this, still freaks me out 20 years later!

Getting crowns and veneers there is always a chance they will fall out. Especially veneers. There is hardly any mechanical retention and you rely on the bonding, which over time can become weaker and weaker. It’s not a big deal if they fall off it just sucks. Also, let’s not forget you can still get cavities when you have crowns/veneers and if you do they have to cut the crown/veneer off, remove the decay, remove MORE tooth structure, place build up material, and make a new crown/veneer. Honestly it’s not worth it! Unless you need or just really really want to! Look into less invasive treatment options. Get those braces or do the whitening!

Girl you’ve had crowns done not veneers. Teeth don’t shave down like a vamp for veneers. Veneers require the surface of your teeth to be shaved have a mil meter maybe and then the thin layer of veneer is attached atop your original teeth. Sorry but you had the most unnatural procedure with the most unnatural shade.

@@moodyspoint7377 (I'm coping and pasting a reply that I saw in another comment.) Veneers are cemented to the front of your teeth , there is minor shaving off the tooth involved for prepping but it appears she has a lot of shaving down done more than usual , so possibly crowns

This is part of the transition you didn't need, your natural teeth were best ...

Imma be honest - the fact that they were OK with putting you under knowing you will fly the same day, that they agreed to go FULL on white, filed your teeth (nowadays there is no need to) and also that it fell out just shows that the dentist was simply not good.

My teeth are fine, I would never do anything that I couldn't reverse on them. It seems like a huge mistake to me but if they make you happy that's all that matters.

Girl. Veneers only last for 2-3 years before they start falling out and need to be replaced or put back into your mouth... this experience will happen to you over and over again for the rest of your life and is unavoidable..
