    This is so good -- While critical theory insists on solidarity in oppression, Christianity insists on solidarity in redemption.

    I was in the audience when he gave this lecture. I was blown away. I still have members of my church refusing to believe that this viewpoint is effecting the Church.

    I love your well balanced video. You were not just going to expose Critical Theory and bad mouth it, you went into a well balanced objective view and even challenged us Christians in our weaknesses, in love. Thank you, Neil! That being said, it's incredibly anti-christian and i appreciate this!

    I love the intro! It's memorable and serves the perfect purpose in this lecture... plus it's hilarious. ;-)

    I believe that when we are talking as Christians about being born again it is being enlightened to the truth that we are wrong and God is truth! Discernment the difference between right and almost right! I pray for discernment over the issues facing our country

    True, Christians are called to regard *one another* as brothers and sisters who’ve been reconciled in Christ. However, believers are also admonished to know the difference between themselves and unbelievers, and to not be unequally yoked with them. In other words, it divides people into groups. “Like a shepherd who separates the sheep from the goats.” Etc.
    I’m having a hard time understanding what this means: “Critical Theory insists on solidarity in oppression, while Christianity insists on solidarity in redemption.” Both identify groups of oppressors and oppressed. Both laud a reversal of power. “He has thrown down the rulers from their thrones, but lifted up the lowly. The hungry he has filled with good things; the rich he has sent away empty.”

    As usual, what needs to be heard most is off in some dusty, cob-webbed corner with less than 1k thumbs-up. I'm glad to see that this and other similar videos and articles from Neil and others are beginning to get some sunlight!

    Thank you for posting this video. I didn't understand much of what critical theory was, only had a hold of bits and pieces.

    Neil Shenvi, a Black writer on Prager U (video) was saying the data on names and hiring bias - is more for first names and likely more due to class than race bias - perhaps can look into this to clarify it. Still not right whether race or class - systemic bias. Very good to educate Church on all this. Hope you reach more churches, God bless your ministry.

    Critical theorists have produced a philosophical theory where they are incapable of being wrong. There is no such thing as reason, only lived experience. If they disagree with the narrative of the lived experience, they are still wrong because they have internalized this experience. So how does one prove them wrong?

    I appreciate your nuanced talk and I hope this type of conversation does nothing but spread, anecdotally I am highly skeptical of the studies you publish on attitudes towards interracial marriage, I would like to see a study that looked specifically at black women and their attitude towards interracial marriage, I would be highly highly surprised if they had a higher rate of tolerating interracial marriage than white men.

    I am watching this in Aug 2020. One world view of the old white men in the upcoming presidential election is not like the other. Think I will leave it there.

    Thank you, you have done a great service to the church and the world - any who will listen. Only wish you had not made so many of your exhibits anonymous.I wonder if someone has/could put this in a nice flow chart to facilitate review.

    Excellent. Love to see the church wising up to the game being played to subvert it.

    Start: I'm not going to misrepresent Critical Theory
    30 seconds later: Critical Theory says old white men are bad cause Rosie O'Donnell tweeted.
    Why not show a video of someone working in the field explaining what it is?

    Excellent! Top notch. You have a proper handle on this whale, one that is needed by both conservative and liberal Christians. But, but, but...notice how when you ended with the Social Science "evidence" of racism as the final word and authority, the professors at the liberal academy all came in the room and again dominated. And the endless statistics repeated over and over on NPR et al, the endless books and speakers, and authorities again hounding us all about racism!!
    And of course the questions from the audience.... the message ends up being something about poor oppressed blacks.... because job interviews! All this when we are trying to share Christ? Wrong emphasis -- worldly emphasis. Jobs, getting ahead, competing for status and superior positions.... Christianity? Suddenly seeped away.
    Identity Politics will dominate. Secular values then become the basis for relationships. You are talking about theory, but LYING is the main societal problem presenting on the left, directly related to this ideology. A great deal of Psycho-social projection is involved. This may not be your interest, but....
    I do think the aggression, lying, and behavior and programs and dominance of identity politics -- as it really is presenting in everyday life around us -- has to be faced. Although trust in Christ's work as finished is the most important thing, and trust in God's providence. But then getting the full absolutely honest measure of the beast is the next step.

    I take issue with the resume experiments he cited as being "proofs" of some systematic racism. Why is an employer racist for choosing a more familiar sounding name if there is nothing else to go on? If given the choice where both options are pretty much the same, but one feels more comfortable, that is a preference, and preferences don't have to be racist.

    • @jayakare
      @jayakare 4 роки тому

      So true, but i think that's where our Christian mindset should jump in, and we need to pray on it...... sounds a bit crazy, but we are supposed to take that extra effort and then hope that the Holy Spirit will help you make that choice. Its not a magic solution, but atleast your conscience is stronger since you did prayerfully thought it over.
      Every decision we make will effect someone or even entire family, so we should make that effort.

    • @jayakare

      I actually had the same initial reaction that you had, but thought about it somemore.
      Take everything to God in prayer, its what we should do, but often forget..... especially me!! 'Where is the time' is my usual excuse.

    • @donmiller3403
      @donmiller3403 3 роки тому +1

      I had the same reaction too! But if critical theory is based on the subjective experience over the objective then the CRT crowd is getting a dose of their own medicine when a white employer having had relatively more negative experiences with Black hires ends up hiring more whites. Having bad experiences with a particular ethnicity in employment does not necessarily make one a racist. Sometimes the alleged "oppressed" community needs to stop playing the race card and begin to make healthy individual and group changes such as showing up for work on time and stop calling punctuality a white supremacist paradigm!

    • @missodu
      @missodu 3 роки тому

      @@donmiller3403 Wow. How presumptuous. Not many things that people stamp "racist" are actually "racist". But this. THIS is racist. Deciding that an entire demographic of people is not punctual (negative view) based on your experience with a few is outrageous and proves the point of perceived superiority precisely.

      Why does one name make you "more comfortable " than another? 🤔
      Start there.

    The example of the oppressor being male in the abortion debate for not having a uterus is mute now. After all some “men” nowadays can get pregnant and do have a uterus. 😉#getwoke
