The video is titled: "The Early Creeds",,,, the speaker then ignores the "Apostles Creed", "The Nicaean Creed" and the "Athanasian Creed" and instead quotes garbage dump trash from apostates and unbelievers such as Bart Ehrman and the rotten skunks of the so-called "The Jesus Seminar". Ugh! Gary Habermas is confusing a Bible passage(s) found in the New Testament with a creedal statement that sums up the basic teaching of the Christian believers that can be recited during a church service. Sadly, many so-called "Christian" churches do NOT recite any of the 3 ancient Creeds in a Lord's Day service. Often the members / visitors are utterly ignorant of basic Christianity so that when/if the J.W.'s or the Mormons knock on their door, the average Joe or Jane nominal "Christian" does not have a clue to point the wrong-headed people on the doorstep to true faith in the Biblical Jesus Christ. I suggest that people get a copy of the 1941 Lutheran Service Book that has the 3 Creeds inside and some good Christ-honoring hymns.

claing that something is a fact or merely*saying* that it is a dact does not make it a fact. the dead *stay* dead; if it*cannot* be true it *is* not true, but there is a certain form of insanity which prevents the sufferer from being able to cognise any kind of impossible; the idea that nothing is impossible for mister god is a symptom of that insanity, which*really_is* insanity bu it is aximatic that the insane have no idea that they are insane or they would not be insane. Anyone that supposes that the dead can come back to life or be resurrected is simply *Insane*

We both know you do not believe a word of that bunk, but you simply cannot help it because that is how you have ben conditioned programmed or wound up. There is *no-such-thing* as an" historical fact" because the past cannot be experienced-for screamingly obvious reasons.the psychology of chanting lies is forensically interesting, as is why you creature*bother* to lie to yourselves when you know *for-a-certainty* that you are lying. For me, it is hard to believe God would have done any of this. Forget empty tombs and early creeds, and consider the basic story. First, God sends Jesus, then tortures and kills him, then raises him, just so he can "forgive" us for being human. And then for some reason, the raised Jesus appears to just a few of his followers--not to Pilate, not the high priest, not the Sanhedrin, not to the soldiers who crucified him. Just a few close followers. Presumably he appears to the twelve, but half of them disappear and are never heard from again. Paul says that someone told him that Jesus appeared to 500 at once, but none of the 500 ever said, "I was there, I saw it." And they forgot to mention the appearance to 500 in Acts. And after all this, then God says, "If you are able to believe that I tortured and raised Jesus so I could forgive you, you win eternal life. If you don't believe, too bad, you go to hell." What kind of God would do this? The story makes no sense, and actually makes God look bad. This is a minimal fact I would love to hear Habermas explain.

    • @mrff5370
      @mrff5370 4 місяці тому

      1. God did not torture and kill Jesus - the Romans did. 2. God raised Jesus to vindicate Jesus and to demonstrate that death has been overcome. 3. Jesus appeared to those who consistently demonstrated an interest in knowing the truth about God. We do not know if no members of the Sanhedrin ever saw the resurrected Jesus. Indeed, we only know who Jesus appeared to based on the sources we have. These sources are not exhaustive in what they recount; they are selective. 4. How do you know that none of the 500 ever said "I was there, I saw it." The fact that Paul mentions these people and says that most of them were still alive when he was writing 1 Corinthians, clearly implies that the recipients could ask these people about it if they wanted to know more. Such was his confidence in the historicity of this event. 5. What makes you think the author of Acts "forgot" to mention the 500? The author selected the evidence which suited his purposes. Furthermore, Acts is a later source than 1 Corinthians. 6. People go to hell because of their sins being unforgiven and their moral corruption which prevents them from entering the presence of a holy God. The kind of God who does this is one who is supremely just and holy and will not permit even one moral indiscretion to go unpunished. People who sin and don't even believe that they are committing sin will not enjoy being in God's presence for eternity. They will be sent to a place where God and all the goodness that derives from him are not present. 7. Simply believing that God raised Jesus is not sufficient for salvation. That belief must also be accompanied by commitment to the Lordship of Christ. A person saying they believe, but acting in a way that is inconsistent with that belief, will not be granted eternal life.

This woman shouldn't be teaching, the Bible is like no other book, the very words in it are the power to bring one to salvation. It is not about making a good argument or stating a bunch of facts it is God calling by his power, His children. This is the Revelation that the word of God brings through the Holy Spirit, we are simply servants offering up the word

  • @vaughnlonganecker986

These historical facts that Habermas is pointing out are helpful, however, when he says that in apologetics never say, this is so because the Bible says so, he couldn't be more wrong. The Bible is God's word, historical facts can be very helpful in pointing the direction to the Bible, but it must always point to the Word and what it says. God's word is the power of salvation, it's a dynamic beyond historical facts or any other book. Historically, and present-day, people don't come to Christ with a bunch of historical facts, they come to Christ because they hear the word of God. Most of evangelism , I would say close to 99%, has nothing to do with the history facts, but only the word of God. When the word of God is preached that is what brings them to Christ.

No other world religion has grafted onto it absurd and wildly implausible lies. That dolt Habermas has no idea what can and cannot amount to, or constitute evidence if anything and clearly lacks the wits and learning to grasp that anything purporting to be evince that cannot be tested cannot possibly amount to,o or constitute evidence, but then the poor buffoon is clearly labouring under some sort of handicap and is living proof that passive mechanical belief stupefies the reason and renders it inoperable. Only a complete imbecilewould could or might imagine that anything written in a book could possibly be evidence of the truth of its contents. That buffoon Habermas is clearly innocent of any sort of its and learning- his handicap being more than obvious. It is no so much that the poor creature does not understand, but rather that by reason of his handicap he simply *cannot* understand because he lacks the wits.Genetic or otherwise, who knows? but the poor creature is clearly not the full shilling. He plainly simply and being a simpleton, *cannot*understand that there can &never* be evince of the impossible and certainly not an impossible *event*, events tending to be fleeting and without trace-*screamingly_obviously* to all but halfwits and buffoons, into which latter category the poor Habermas creature obviously falls.

Here is another historical fact. None of the so called witnesses to the resurrection is verified with signed authorship. This is what I constantly keep calling out the apologists on in my own vids. Authorship of witnessed signature. The earliest texts written were decades after the fact, 30 years at best. This screams urban legend. At least Joseph Smith had 11 actual signatures of verified people who existed. I think they are lying but at least they say they were there. You have none for the resurrection and constantly the apologist uses the circular reasoning of using bible texts to prove the bible which is a huge fallacy. They do not win with us skeptics with this sort of bad speculation. Cheers, DCF

Do you know that Alexander the Great sources are at 300yrs after his death and you’re flipping for 30yrs? Do research on some of the USA presidents or founding fathers some are at 80+ come on! What people believed and what they could prove are two different things. Jesus chose a time and place that had no means of accurately recording his teachings and miracles. He never wrote anything which is very disappointing- almost like he didn't care.

You’re absolutely right, what people believe and what they can prove are two different things. I find that funny because people will believe in aliens first before they believe in the existence of God Almighty…there is no prove written, photographic or otherwise that suggest the existence of alien life on earth and other planets, however, people easily believe in those out space demons with any tangible proof except heavy mass indoctrination. The media, government and satan had brainwashed people to believe in the possibility without a shred of evidence hence it amazes me when you ask someone do you believe in God, they say no is a fairytale, yet you ask the same person do you believe in aliens and without hesitation they say yes, the government or media have proof or is more possible than God. We can’t blaspheme against God any longer!!

Hello “Godman” is not biblical Sounds super Greek mythology Nobody in scripture goes around preaching “God became a man” Jesus is the Messiah The Son of God The Son of David The Son of man The man God has chosen to be his anointed king The man God will judge the world through The man God raised from the dead Jesus will return and rule the nations with believers in the kingdom of God on the earth Jesus has a God There is no triune god in scripture Jesus said the Father is the only true God! John 17 3 And this is eternal life, that they know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent. - Acts 3 13 The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Servant Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied before the face of Pilate, when he had determined to release him. 14 But ye denied the Holy and Righteous One, and asked for a murderer to be granted unto you, 15 and killed the Prince of life; whom God raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses. Notice Jesus is NOT the God of Abraham 13 The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Servant Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied before the face of Pilate, when he had determined to release him.

This fool has no factual evidence........only stories. The one FACT that stands like a mountain....... is that of over 160 writers who wrote during JESUS' time........in that area of the world..............none of them mention Jesus..........or any event that could relate to the claims made in the GOSPELS ! In Luke 24:18 ........ Cleopas, one of the two travelers the resurrected Jesus encountered on the road to Emmaus, says that everybody in Jerusalem knew about Jesus. AND nobody wrote anything about him????? UNBELIVABLE ! LOL HELL, even Paul barely knows anything about Jesus ! Paul was a grown man in his early to mid twenties living and working in Jerusalem. He was a Jew, a member of the tribe of Benjamin (Romans 11:1). He claims to have studied under the famous rabbinical teacher, Gamaliel, and to have been closely associated with the political and religious leaders of that day (Acts 22:3-5). During that time Jerusalem was a city of approximately 120,000 population, not significantly large. He surely must have heard of the miracles allegedly performed by Jesus as well as the slaughter of all baby boys two years of age and under. How could he have missed Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem which, according to Matthew 21:1-10, attracted great multitudes. How could he not have heard about Jesus’ cleansing of the temple which incurred the wrath of the chief priest (Matthew 21:12-16)? As an enforcer of the law, how could Paul not have known of Jesus’ betrayal by Judas Iscariot, the trial, and/or the crucifixion with its attendant anomalies such as darkness at noon and earthquakes? Why didn't he mention the resurrection of the saints (Matthew 27:52-53) or the amputation by Peter of the right ear of Malchus, the chief priest's slave (John 18:10,) and its miraculous reattachment by Jesus (Luke 22:51)? Surely Paul would have encountered Jesus sometime during those years so crucial to what was later to become the Christian religion. In Luke 24:18 Cleopas, one of the two travelers the resurrected Jesus encountered on the road to Emmaus, says that everybody in Jerusalem knew about Jesus. Yet, not a single reference to these important, even astounding, events appears anywhere in the authentic Pauline epistles. As far as the record goes, the only encounter Paul ever had with Jesus was that famous incident which allegedly occurred on the road to Damascus. www.unexplained-mysteries.com/forum/topic/53329-the-mystery-of-pauls-ignorance/#:~:text=The%20Apostle%20Paul%2C%20often%20referred%20to%20as%20the,from%20Nazareth%20recently%20put%20to%20death%20in%20Judea

I think it’s wonderful that evangelicals are looking deeply into church history. What they will find there are things that the Orthodox Church has known and has believed from the beginning. We have writings from the early church fathers that compliment and confirm the teachings of the apostles, and we have absolute confidence that our faith (the orthodox faith) is as close to the practices of the early church as one can find, given that our liturgy and history confirms that NOTHING has changed in almost 2 millennia.

When was the earliest church? The early thirties? What is the evidence for this? Habermas assumes what he is attempting to prove. No corroborating evidence for the claims made in the faith documents, the gospels and Acts is presented. Philo of Alexandria is silent. Pliny the Elder is silent. Justus of Tiberias is silent. Habermas is very eloquent but is short on evidence to back up his assertions. Creeds may well go back to the earliest Christians but when was that? Our best source, Pliny the Younger has Christians existing at the end of the century.

Problem with skeptics is they really don’t want to believe cause they would have to change their lifestyle and focus on God instead of themselves, wealth, power, SIN and material things. They also do t want to believe because they think the books of the New Testament were written down too far from Jesus’s death and resurrection but they forget that the early Christians were already worshipping Jesus as God during and shortly after the resurrection and ascension of Jesus. Just because some were written years later doesn’t mean it’s not accurate, reliable or true! God bless

What about all those people that were resurrected and seen by many after JESUS WAS RESURRECTED. They must be a good witness of. JESUS CHRIST RESURRECTION

Those that abuse capital letters not only emphasise nothing but the hysteria of the abuser, they also declare the abuser to be a lunatic Abusers abuse all sorts, who or what remains to be seen or prosecuted.self -abuse like abusing capital letters is like masturbation generally best not done in public.

To compare a brave soldier who put his life in jeopardy for his comrades to Jesus is crazy. Jesus didn't put his life on the line because he resurrected himself.
