why no underfill under the chip ?? Same chip in MacBook has underfill. This chip is very sensitive if you use not original Apple charger, when I have 5V 0A in Apple products, I immediately ask customer to send me a pictures of his charges.
That 12.9" 4th gen and 5th gen and especially 11" 2nd gen are known for that "USB-C controller" chip issue (in my company we call it usb-c controller, not sure if that is the real name of it)
Yes it's a USBC Controller and Common failing point on USBC iPads We get them in everyday. Just stay away from USBC and go for lighting if you want your iPad to last.
