Yes, when the kid puts his dad's hat on, it time jumps to him being an adult and having followed his father's foot steps in joining the military. then he has to go and deliver the same sad news that he got.

The kid's father got killed in combat and the two guys are his team members accompanying his mother to break the news to the kid.
I remember reading The Right Stuff and it referring to officers having to be “the friend to widows and orphans” and that phrase always stuck with me.
1st operator to come to the door had a Budweiser on his chest....son's father was a SEAL. through the song the boy grows and follows in father's footsteps. Later, history repeats itself, except now it's the boy (now a SEAL himself) delivering same harrowing news to a daughter of a SEAL lost in combat.
Hi, The guy in uniform at the beginning was the boys dad who had died in service. When the boy put his dad's cap on he turned into the man you see at the end of the video in uniform. Who was telling his daughter he has died just like his dad did to him. Hope this helps.

That was the kid, he went into SEAL's like his father to try and help himself deal with the loss of his dad. Most of my family were specials forces of some kind, and myself I didn't follow in his footsteps as he was a 101st Ranger, but did go into submarines during the cold war.
Side thing- the MH-47G chinooks IIRC are made for making these sorts of insertions and extractions even more effectively.

Hey there, this song is also "connected" to another linkin park song called the catalyst, both of songs, this and the other was used as main themes for two games Called, Medal of Honor and Medal of Honor Warfighter, the games them self was from 2010 and 2012, both depticted Tier 1 SOF units in diffrent missons, all set in the GWAT era, and if i remember it right it the songs where like tie ins with the story. Cheers!

This music video made me comprehend the word 'sacrifice'.
At the beginning of the video, the boy is met at the door by an officer in dress uniform. Officers showing up at your door in dress uniform is never a good thing. They're not known to ever bring good news. The boy's mother arrives with two other soldiers. By the look on her face, she already knows, what is going on. Later the boy goes through his father's belongings & finds a cap. He puts on the cap, & when you see his face when he looks up, he is an adult. He follows in his father's footsteps & becomes an officer in the military. At the end of the video, he is the officer in dress uniform delivering bad news to the daughter of a soldier.
I can attest to what you say about extended family , we have had a few reach out after my friend Robert Passed last year he was 169th FW SC ANG retired M.Sgt. . Even when I am out some of the local base personnel who knew him from charleston ask how we are doing .
