Just a few days ago I saw an interview with the actor who played McLovin. He's in his 30s now and to this day, everyone still calls him McLovin in real life. He said when he meets people for the first time, he'll tell them to call him Chris, and they say, "Can we just call you McLovin instead?" He's fine with it. He said he's glad he was part of a movie that had such an impact on people that they still think about it more than a decade later.
What's even funnier is Johan Hill did not want him to be in the movie. Because Chris Mintz just shut down jonah comedy Chris's timing was hilarious. This would frustrate jonah so bad. That the directors and producers loved it. Michael Cera talked about this in a interview.
About the scar on Jonas arm. Car crash. The car flipped over, skidded along the road and dragged Hill's arm with it. Hill woke up in the hospital, and he heard two doctors discussing whether or not to amputate his arm. At the same time, he saw his dad and ailing mom crying. “I said to myself, 'I'll never let them down ever again"
Nnnno it wasn't, absolutely not. There is no resistance from Jonah Hill's head that would come from the impact. Use your eyes/logic//cite your sources/stop spreading lies.
It’s so weird watching someone watch this for the first time in 2024. 😂 I was 18 years old (fresh out of high school) when this movie came out and it’s one of the most nostalgic pieces of art in my life.
I watched this in high school and it was and still is funny as hell but the last mall scene is so bitter sweet now as you're at that part of your life where you won't be seeing your friends as much anymore as you all go your separate ways and you remember all the fun you had in school together.
Nah I totally get where you’re coming from. I’m 31, and love my 80’s comedies. They just don’t hit the same because I wasn’t around for them. As someone who came up in the late 90’s/2000’s my heart is with these because the comedy style was definitely more relatable
Forgetting Sarah Marshall should be the next comedy you two should watch. That's another hilarious movie! I saw that and Superbad both in theaters back in the day and each time I walked out of the theater with a headache because I was laughing so hard throughout the movies. They're both two of my favorite comedies.
Movie was written by Seth Rogan and Evan Goldberg who are long time friends and is based loosely on their life. Jonah Hill plays Seth and Michael Cera plays Evan. MClovin is also based on one of their friends. The real Mc'Lovin is in the movie as well.

I saw this movie when it premiered in theaters stoned with a few friends and we laughed non-stop through the entire movie. A perfect teen comedy film for sure!
My middle school had a "dirt" track. What I mean by that is it was a track that was eventually made from all the running, basically a trail. We never had an actual track.
I saw this movie when I was in like middle/high school and it took me until like 5 years later to realize the main characters are named/based off of Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg 😂
Sometimes in comedies you can see a joke or scene coming a mile away. I honestly feel like this movie and Pineapple Express I had no idea what was going to happen next.

I'm from Guatemala and here it's not that difficult to buy alcohol regardless of your age, basically small businesses in any neighborhood but it's the lowest quality you can imagine. The best quality you can only find it in places that follow the law like gas stations. The first time I bought alcohol with a friend we said "our dad" sent us to purchase it for him, nobody believed us but they didn't care.
For our age group this will probably be the best comedy of all time. I grew up pretty close to where Seth lives and am a bit younger but this movie brings me back to those days, its so similar to our life at that time and it came out right when we were the age of the characters. I loved your laughs and how you reacted to different parts. Was a lot of fun to see someone watch this for the first time! You need to watch Role Models next for more of McLovin!
