Have you ever been scammed after trying to help someone? How do you feel when you see people on social media asking for money or donations around the holidays? What percent is your phone 🔋on? I'm on 69%😩
Nope, I don't trust beggers, reallife or online. I usually donate to our local toy bank, that organisation distributes toys to low income families in my district.
Yes I have! A friend of mine told me they did not have money to buy their children Christmas presents so I went out and bought each of their children around $100 worth of presents at the very last minute. Then overheard them bragging that they had been spending hundreds and hundreds of dollars on level 100 World of Warcraft characters. They couldn't even be bothered to play the game to level up their own characters they literally bought them and then wouldn't buy their children Christmas presents
I have been a few times. Too kind-hearted. I stick to charities and foundations now instead of individuals. Life may be difficult, but there are many resources available for food, a bed to sleep on, a job, etc. The Creator didn't make me to be a bank. Phone is on 60%.
Just remember that for every mom on social media begging for christmas money online, there are moms who arent on social media and even in your own neighborhood who are struggling to provide in silence.
I used to work for a mortgage company. I was told by other staff that there are people who call up and take a payment holiday every December to buy Xmas presents. That means they're skipping one mortgage payment, with permission of their bank, every year and adding an extra year or two to their mortgage term with all the interest that comes with that.
@@GingerSpiritSmurf Yes! Exactly! Save all year round or buy little thing here and there wrap them and hide them in your closet so ot doesn't become an emergency. Just 20 a week will save you over 1000 if you save all year round. That a trip or two to Starbucks or McDonald's and just save it. A small sacrifice so you don't have to stress over the holidays. Life doesn't need to be hard. You just have to not be selfish ND think ahead.
This. There were years in the past where I had 50 per kid to spend, and not a single one complain years later. They actually remember having fun with that stuff. Even now, on a 6-figure income, I have a 200 limit per kid, and most of the gifts are practical I also don't swoop in a buy huge christmas for extended family, they also get practical gifts
This even happens in my own family on my husbands side. I see them with new things, new clothes, new pets, going out to eat, all that good stuff and then a month later asking the fam for money to help buy their kids Christmas presents because they are broke?! Like GIRL WHAT?!
Yeah. I have a lot of sympathy for people who are on a low income and are struggling. I have no sympathy for people who had money but wasted it so now they're skint.
This just happened to me, by a lady that I just met a few months ago. Gets her hair done often, has a s.o . & son both working, just took a trip to the beach & begging me for $60 😢.. like how at your Big Age do u not have that little amount of money… during the holidays ppl spend bread.. I don’t have any to give
A lot of this feels like “I can’t afford my kids presents AND the things that I want and I don’t want to choose my kids over myself and wait for the new toy I want.”
EXACTLY!!!! Quit getting the lashes and hair done and spend the money on your kids!!!! When you have kids it's not about you anymore! Your money is their money first! They can't help that they were born to you and you don't understand that they could first!
Rent/Mortgage is MORE IMPORTANT than Christmas. The bills don’t stop. Tell your kids the truth. Their Christmas is a roof over their heads and food in their bellies PLUS kids today get worthless stuff ALL YEAR ROUND!
My mom would buy me something when I need it then say happy early christmas in like September lmao. I still got little things for christmas and I was happy with it. My family was never big on holidays though.
I bursted out laughing after seeing this comment!!! I didn't notice how funny it even sound until you typed it out!! I was too deep into what I was talking about that I didn't even see the humor in it!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 thank you for pointing this out. I needed this luagh!!!
@@SocialSymonelol! Bc I already knew how it was gone end & you wasn’t wrong. Get on em’ 😂😂 Love your videos, you’re funny & find ways to plant seeds about saving and investing!!
Rule of thumb I live by: I give to reputable charities and organizations, never individuals. No exceptions. For individuals I give my time and friendship.
@MaryJane-zw5pv I completely agree. I work in non-profit accounting, so I have better access to information on local non-profits and know what to look for on our 990s. Research absolutely goes into it.
@@beanybean000omg the amount of times i offer to buy food or other essentials they might need they just say no like huh? why are you outside this store or restaurant then with a sign that says anything helps 🤔😐
5 below has great kids presents! Even dollar tree has toys. I bought my daughter a bunch of art supplies, science kits, books, and building kits at 5 below.
This! 2 of my nephews most recent faves are these cool dinosaurs from 5 below. He got all kinds of stuff (his bday is dec 23 so there's some overlap) but he was legit excited about his dinosaurs❤❤
I don’t know when we normalized Christmas being this lavish and extravagant celebration. People feel like it’s not really Christmas if they don’t have a 60ft tress, brand new decorations, luxury matching PJs, insta photo shoots/reels, and a food spread that could feed a small village. They also feel like every kid needs a new iPhone, iPad, beats headphones, Jordan’s, designer clothes, PlayStations/Xboxes, etc. And the real reason is they want the feeling of stunting on others and also fulfilling their own trauma from their childhood and they impose that on their kids when their kids would be happy with a box and a trip to the park 😂
I had 1 Christmas tree for years and I don’t even know if I had gifts under it. All I remember is the food every year. Needless to say, I’m more of a cooker than a gifter
Saving is actually something people have to do before they believe it works. SMH. It takes NOTHING to put away $25/wk and that's a wonderful $1300 Xmas for yourself, partner, and 2-3 kids! People ask me all the time, where do you get all this money. We have the same job! I SAVE!! 😆😆
@@missmia196 nope. PS4s are $250, does the same as the 5! lol. And if they absolutely need the 5, they can get a refurbished one for $400. ONE for them all to use is more than enough! 😆
I’m so done with this society. Self entitled and lazy!! Bunch of scammers. SMDH. I’m not giving away a penny!! I stick to a budget and I start my Christmas shopping in July and spread things out. I save and store away stuff, look for deals, etc. We need to make shame a thing again. 😒 begging should not be a common thing! It’s gross!
I make $700 monthly and STILL had enough to get at least 4 people gifts. I’ve known how much I wanna spend since September and stuck to the budget so good I was able to buy a nice gift for a few extra people. A budget it your best friend! That and Jesus✔️
I can't wait to see this vid. The other day, I got scammed by someone who claimed to be stranded because his electronic wheelchair was broken. He even suggested he needed a $65 Uber to get home. I was just about to book it when my manager intervened and said that he was probably panhandling. I decided to cancel the ride, but it still cost me $30 to do so. Then, when my manager approached the guy, miraculously, his chair started working again! I felt so foolish, like there must be something wrong with me for trying to help. I truly hope that man finds himself in better circumstances, realizes his mistakes, and works on becoming a better person.
Oh my! I'm so to hear that! Did he just walk away after or was he still in the wheelchair and it started working? It says alot that you were willing to help! That was kind of you. We can only hope people have pure intentions when acting out of kindness💓
@Even though he was in a wheelchair, the moment we mentioned calling the cops, he suddenly took off as if nothing were wrong. It made me more upset to think he felt the need to harm others. I genuinely want to help those in need, and I assume that most people who panhandle are likely facing tough situations. It’s disheartening to see them resort to dishonesty, especially when so many of us are struggling financially. I would have been willing to part with what little I had to lend a hand. My coworkers suggested I should be upset about how he took advantage of me, but I don't feel anger-just a deep sadness. In the end, one of my coworkers slipped $30 into my pocket, saying he wanted to help restore my faith in humanity. Thankfully, everything turned out well, and now I'm putting together a Christmas card to thank them for their kindness.
Dude got me the other day. He was in a wheelchair, said he couldn’t walk, and needed money to feed his family. I took all my money out of my wallet, gave to him, and proceeded to walk to my car. As I was getting in my Toyota Corolla, a very nice SUV pulled up close to him, he STANDS up, and wheels the wheelchair to the back of the SUV, loads it up, gets in the passenger seat, and the SUV drove off. Now either I just witnessed a miracle (😂😂😂) or this dude scammed me.
You can wish that but I think it’s healthier to be angry. I’m angry you blamed yourself and made it your fault that he scammed you. It wasn’t your fault one bit.
@@FreeKekistanni gave someone my last $8 in the world (and no credit, no family, no friends with extra money to pay the bus fare and then the fee for a night at the women’s shelter ($5). 5 min later I see her get into a taxi. Edit: now i feel good about saying NO
And this is why I don’t give ppl money. Scammers have ruined ppl’s sense of generosity and personal philanthropy due to their laziness and dishonesty. Now ppl who are actually in need more often than not don’t get the help they actually need. It’s sad to admit, but ppl are tired of having their hard earned resources wasted on lazy, entitled folks who are perfectly capable of getting a job. And since we really don’t know who is truly struggling or not, we just simply don’t give.
THISSSS! Helping someone who you later realize doesn’t want to help themselves is a kick to the chest and only Jesus can heal the bruise! They really tank your mood and it’s hard to build that trust in yourself again
I am not bragging, I am just giving an idea. I donated money to an angel tree, but it was at a church and the church vets and qualifies needy families. I didn’t donate money for gifts, but money for food, for their food pantry.
This! It's so heartbreaking thinking of children not having toys to open for Christmas, growing up we were poor but my mom would start grabbing a few things here and there through out the year so my brother & I could open stuff on Christmas. Now that I'm a mother, my priorities aren't getting my nails or hair done until my kids have what they want/need. We are one income household, I shop sales & prepare for Christmas. The same mothers on Facebook and stuff begging are the same ones who have their lashes and nails done. It just really shows who they prioritize.
Also, please remember that Christmas never changes. If you were one of these parents Christmas is literally always on the same day every year, so it's not a surprise. Our town was affected really bad from hurricane Helene. So I do understand some people struggle. But others used their FEMA money for their own satisfaction and pleasure and now they're broke again. That's why I said some people prioritize themselves over their kids.
I have an alcoholic family member who spent tons on alcohol, weed, and smokes. Then they hit up every Christmas hamper/church in town, got TONS of gifts for their kids, didn't even wrap them just put it all in black trash bags and dumped them out for the kids on Christmas. So don't worry these people can get gifts if they really wanted.
Thank you. You are absolutely supposed to judge. Thats how you pick your mate, your friends, determine situations. You just aren't supposed to mistreat people based on how you judge them.
Saying “TikTok don’t pay me much” when you have the privilege to even be getting passive income from TikTok at ALL is WILD. I got laid off this Christmas and actually am struggling but I’m not asking for shit.
You're right about different struggles, if you look at my little house, my old car, my old clothes you wouldn't realize I am more financially free than someone is a big house with a brand new car, I own everything outright, zero debt. But to most people I would look poor and impoverished. Funny how life is.
I recently did this on Facebook and I felt bad.this year I was only able to buy my boys sock and underwear with the money we had left over ( no joke ). I know people say it's okay to ask but just asking is hard. For my situation in Georgia our rent went up again. And the money that was given to us for Christmas gifts had to go to rent. I'm very thankful and blessed that two women made Christmas my kids. And after that I turned around give away their stuff that they don't play with to someone else and she blessed me also with shoes for my boys. I understand that we are all at times right now. But these people needs to be honest and genuine when it comes to asking for things around holiday season
It's alot of self entitled people who think they're entitled to other people's money go get a job I can't stand the constant online begging even in real life there's a lot so called people always think someone has to buy them something ,Christmas is one day no need to go broke over it
I was a manager of a TikTok Live agency and a girl I managed would be on stream complaining she needs to pay the bills and get her kids Christmas presents yet gets hair extensions and hair coloring, went to NYC and stayed in a high rise in Times Square, went to LA as well as was wearing a Louis Vuitton beanie on live all while saying she can’t afford life. 😒 The sad part are the people falling for it not seeing the very obvious signs.
I only donate to those Angel Trees you see at the mall in December. I got a 8 year old boy as my angel and got him good clothes (bigger size so he can grow into) at a discount. I also got him a few toys that I will help him develop his brain. Me and my mom always do angel gift for Xmas because they are less fortunate. I would never donate money to a stranger online but that’s just me 🤷🏽♂️
I remember when I struggled to buy my kids christmas gifts. I went to thrift them, I bought new books, candies and they were still happy ^^ I never went to beg online or somewhere for my kids or help me because I struggle. It is so embarrassing and humiliating, I would rather sell myself than beg. I did get so much better with money since I started to budget, track my expenses, prioritise savings and paying debt, bills.
My mom has twins and thrifts all their clothes, shoes, whatever she can find. I don’t think I’ve ever seen them in brand new clothes unless they were gifted. For Christmas they have new toys and my mom was able to save so much money her bills are paid ahead of time. She bought things no one asked for just because she had the funds. Thank God, for my mommy. I’m glad I get to share her❤
Once gave this single mom some money for traveling bc I thought she needed it to travel somewhere to get government aid for her daughter which reminded me of my mom back when I was young, finding out she indeed used the money to travel - to a party! I was working 3 minimum wage jobs at that time and therefore “had money”. And she wasn’t shy pointing out how rich I was. I’ll Never forget this. I gave the money bc I thought this would help her daughter not to sugar mommy her to party while I myself was a minimum wage job student.
these videos are great for awareness, most of us who live normal lives don’t encounter a lot of scammers so it’s easy to not expect a scam, or project your own good intentions onto the scammer. but when you come online and are reminded that people have literally lied about cancer for go fund me donations it brings these sad tiktok beggars into perspective
This is why you Christmas shop a month or two months ahead in advance. I do this every year. If i see something nice that i want to get for my parents because i know for a fact they deserve it they worked hard to put food on the table and made sure we had a roof over our head. So every year i buy their gifts two months or a month in advance before Christmas 😂.
More great points and content Symone! As far as Christmas gifts go, there are always churches and tire companies giving toys out for Christmas. And I agree that parents' first priorities should be housing, lights and electricity for the family!
I never donate to individual cases. I prefer donating to respected organisations like Doctors without borders or our local toy bank, they give true low income families Christmas toys. ❤
Good to know! I have siblings with a million toys they go through and don’t like just tossing them. My “poor” family members prefer brand new stuff so this is a great way to give!
Pray for wisdom before giving to strangers. There are ministries and missions, charities and public libraries, and people in our local communities who need help. For me it is more wise to give to these than to an unknown person on social media.
I started budgeting and buying in October! and everyone knows they are only getting a present or two because its been a hard year. I cannot understand people who wait until Dec 20th or later to buy things and complain they don't have the funds saved up.
This is the stuff that makes me mad because when people really need help for an actual emergency like you’re beloved pet is very sick or the car broke down and unfortunately you don’t have the money but the scammers ruined it
I'm not saying everyone asking for money online is a scammer. What I will say is that those people who won't give money to the homeless because they're afraid of what their money will buy need to keep that same energy online.
I had a roommate who told me her father passed away from COVID-19 a few weeks after I moved in. I felt so bad for her that I was paying for her groceries, and some meals here and there, and shared her gofundme on my insta. Later, I came to find out on her Facebook (which she didn't know I found) that her mother asked her to take down the gofundme site because they didn't need it and their insurance covered them. She raked in thousands from that gofundme and her church and was later hauling in shopping stuff. It turned out that her parents were paying for her rent and allowance and she used this real story of her father struggling and dying to rake in more money from people's sympathy. It literally made me consider who I believe and give my money from now on.
I never get scammed because I use my heart for pumping blood and my brain for handling my hard earned money- and couldn't give flying damn about total strangers on social media.
What they say: I can't afford to buy my kids christmas gifts! What they mean: I can't afford to buy my kids an ipad, air pods and all the drunk elephant skincare they asked me to buy!!
The thing is, these are average to lower class people who are acting/having rich people items. I expect this from the rich elite but with people I see on the bus, corner store(I live in NYC), or my local supermarket act like elite jerks! Or I treat you nice because I'm doing you a favor.😡
I started shopping in July. Buying one present apiece for my 2 littles. We decided to secret Santa with my grown kids. Makes me so mad when they on here just lieing.
Everywhere. I got a text saying "A friend told me you have a mansion on the beach, I'd like more info so I can hopefully put a deposit for the Christmas holiday" 😂😂😂 I just blocked them. I usually would play along, but I'm busy making dollar tree Christmas Crafts in my beach mansion 😅❤🎄🎁⛄🕯️
Here’s my thing. Christmas comes at the same time, every single year. I don’t even have kids-but I know that every single year, in the months coming up-if I want to spend the money I want to for presents, I’m already putting money aside. Because I know that every single year, come December, I will be spending more money than usual. In my opinion, there is little excuse to not having the money for Christmas presents for your kids when you KNOW you gonna need that money each year come December. (Now, I am talking about those who ARE financially secure and then crying on TikTok lol) Again, i am NOT talking here about those whole fall on hard times, or are not able to set aside money. Thats not who this comment is about. But for the types of people that this video is discussing: start putting money aside starting in like July. Only spend what you want to spend on presents. Then, you will be stress free come Christmas.
My daughters first Christmas we were BROKE BROKE but we still made it happen with used toys off marketplace, dollar tree for stocking stuffers etc and it worked out but I never was online begging for money because that’s embarrassing imo if you really wanna give back this Christmas season donate to toys for tots or an angel tree at a local school
I just put a video on my channel about paying off 107k worth of debt just to be accountable. Although I’m actively paying it off, I would never get on here begging for money 😂
My family would christmas shop in the closet and wrap dove soap and whatever. Until I was like 16 and my mom started making some better money it was crazy to have any stocking stuffer bought new. We still had some normal presents but not that many as we just got things as we needed instead of waiting all year for christmas.
For years I always bought presents for the toys for tots bins. One year I even had my kids help and put them in the bin (which in retrospect was super confusing for them-they were too little). Anyway, shortly after that I was reading an article about toys for tots in the newspaper and a woman was quoted as saying “after buying groceries and cigarettes there isn’t any money for toys”. Her priority was cigarettes over getting her kids presents for Christmas. That’s when I stopped donating to toys for tots because honestly, if you can’t prioritize your kids over buying cigarettes then I’m not going to do that for you. I was a sahm and stretching Pennies to live on one income. For the first few years I stayed home we had just 100$ of disposable income per month. That was ALL we had for haircuts/eating out/bday presents/activities. That was it. I was saving diaper points and shopping garage sales to make Christmas special for my kids, and then buying new toys 10-20$ items for toys for tots just to find out these people just can’t be bothered to buy their kids presents. They have the money, they just don’t want to spend it on that. Ppl who have a fire before Christmas-they need the money. Some ppl face catastrophic financial events unexpectedly-they may need help too. But most ppl crying about not having money for parents are just ppl who are CHOOSING not to prioritize their children above other things. Many of these women crying for money have nails/hair/makeup done to the 9s. Spend that money on Christmas. We have more money now, I work part time and dh’s salary has increased over the years. And Christmas has increased with it. It’s worked well though. When my boys were little they got very special, but reasonable Christmases. Now that they’re teens they still get very special, but still reasonable Christmases. Anyone with kids knows though-100$ goes a lot further with littles than it does with one that is old enough to drive. But because we didn’t go overboard when they were little, even though we do spend a lot more now, it’s still within our means and the kids love it. Here’s a good rule of thumb for Christmas tho-something they want, something they need, something to wear, and something to read. Every single mom can make this happen for their kids. Start in January. If there is a sale or a clearance area lurk there often and grab stuff when you see it. We follow this loosely. So my kids prob got 3-5 something’s they wanted. 2-3 needs. A zippy sweatshirt, a book, and then we also do a video game, a board game, and a movie. A stocking with candy and goodies and that’s Christmas. The night before they get pjs and an ornament. (Pjs were bottoms from kohls purchased on sale with a coupon for about 10$ each-and shirts from local craft store purchased on sale with a coupon for about 6$ each). Ornament was on sale from box store for about 6$ each. You can do these things reasonably friends! We do the games and movies so we have activities to hope into with them as well. Watching the new movies and playing the new games is fun family time over the holiday break. And most importantly is Jesus. Make sure your kids understand why they’re celebrating Christmas. If we had no money for some reason and explained that to our kids they would be ok with it. But really, they know realistically there’s still no reason for NOTHING under the tree. I think their feelings would be hurt by nothing. But if it was smaller items and a few less they would never complain. If I did 5-10$ candy in stockings and a few gifts purchased secondhand or clearance or 5 below- (or homemade!) they would appreciate that even. I could do a Christmas for under 100/kid easily. Under 50 is doable but would have to be very creative. For my two that would mean budgeting 10-20$/month throughout the year. Whatever happens in my life-I would make that happen. One year I bought their main present (a train table with a bunch of tracks and trains and accessories) at a garage sale for 45$. That was the big present for both. They got a couple other small things but that was it. Another year I handmade fleece tie blankets and pillows for them with their favorite characters. They got that, a small kids tent to share and some lanterns, and like 2-3 toys and some playdoh. It was a fabulous Christmas. They loved it. Another year I knitted special stuffed animals for them. They still have those. They have had big years where they got a Nintendo switch (joint present) AND kindles (bought for 35$ each on prime day). That was their Christmas that year. I was working by then. They got a couple other things but that was the main part of their day. And I shopped all the sales to get the best deal on that switch-lemme tell you. I think best I could do got it down to 275. Anyways. These kids out here expecting new PlayStations and laptops and phones, etc. it’s Christmas-not the lottery.
@ right! last night my oldest got money from her grandpa, and later said she wanted something. After I told her she could buy it, all the sudden she didn’t want it that bad anymore 😅
I really appreciate your content, this is something I needed to see because I give too much my heart is too big and I feel sorry for people that can't afford things where are the children. I know I get scammed a lot with every sappy story I hear...my husband has to talk to me about all the scamming
I got awesome advice when I had my first daughter. Buy one gift each month starting in January, then your one or multiple kids will have 12 presents by Christmas (or however you choose to work the method). As a mom of 3 this has saved me money instead of going all out at once and struggling that week or month. Helps my wallet to still pay bills and be able to do stuff for me and my husband too.
Another sad thing...is when those of us that struggle go without so our kids can have what they need and want.....we get dirty looks cause mom cant afford new clothes for herself and haven't had my hair cut in a few years. we do our best with what we have and we STILL get judged..being broke is NOT a disease, we are humans too. Sometimes food and shelter on limited income is more important than vanity. Just saying
Im one of the moms that need the help..but im NOT asking strangers!! I'll use assistance programs...n i try shopping through out the year like 5 below or dollar stores. My kids got a few cute pink valentine plushies for Christmas this year cause they were on sale for cheap. It's the thought that counts. Meanwhile in one of my local areas community groups is the same 3-4 people begging for cat food, phone payments, kid beds and diapers/clothes for their kids...but they are begging WEEKLY!! Yall if you can't afford pet food do NOT get pets!! If you can't buy groceries or diapers don't have kids! If you can't pay your bill for that shitty iPhone then downgrade to a tracphone. Christmas is every December at least try to save up..and if you DO need assistance be grateful for whatever you get!
Ive always appreciated the help from these programs when we signed up a few times. What i do for Christmas gifts is find gifts for my kids throughout the year so that way im guaranteed to have gifts for them by Christmas so I dont have to rely on those programs. Yes, I have even gotten my kids gifts from the dollar tree. I put my kids first.
This video found me at the right time. I am one of those naive people. I assume the best. When someone tells me they can't afford a gift for their child I will buy something for them. Meanwhile, I'm on disability myself. I'm struggling myself. But in my head a child is more important than me. Knowing that some of those people are either messing up their priorities or straight up lying about their need will definitely make me check twice before giving again.
Great commentary!! We're have the finance to christmas this year, but guess what? We're skipping christmas this year. My family and I are gonna lounge around the house eating good food and desserts. Watch a few movies and that's it! We're teaching our kids that you don't have to splurge every year on things that are not really needed. God has bless us so much throughout this year and christmas isn't gonna make spend money necessarily. Merry Christmas, guys. Don't be burdened by what others are doing. Do you this year!!!❤
I barely give to family members, ain’t no way giving to strangers on social media. There are abundance of resources out there and holidays is a reoccurring event. You have 364 days to get your finances together to get YOUR kid(s) some gifts.
Holy f, my native language is Spanish but I consume this types of videos in English, and for some reason this video started in Spanish, but in a 5x speed robotic Spanish, that scared the crap out of me
People who are really struggling are moms like me, who are out shopping marketplace, selling clothes, and teaching our kids that we can’t have everything we asked for, just like our parents taught us.
I love your approach. We need to be judging. Not in the sense: good people and bad people, because each of us should do what is best for them and we don't know what is best for others. But in a sense : is this true? is this reasonable? is this for me? We should judge.
When I come across the same people over and over begging I’ll comment a bunch of times that I need the same things and put my cash app 😂 they get so mad 😂😂😂
I remember when I was a kid there was a couple of years my mom got my gifts second hand or through the Salvation Army or Goodwill. With my boys, we go through their stuff they no longer want or have grown up (usually after thanksgivings/ early December) so that another kid can have something under the tree instead of nothing
I knew I couldn't afford Christmas gifts this year, so I decided to crochet gifts. Almost everything was made out of stuff I already had. Though I did end up spending $50 for some accessories for a couple of gifts. Like, I needed button eyes and stuff.

They're loud and unresourceful. Sorry but sorry, but there are a lot you can give without spending a dime
Exactly.
This!!!! Should be top comment
And that the vast majority who ask for help (online or through non-profits) are legitimately in need.
Dave Ramsey taught me that Christmas is not an emergency. You're right! It's the same day every. single. year.

Yup, we save up like 50$ per paycheck for our kids to have the best Christmas.
Even now, on a 6-figure income, I have a 200 limit per kid, and most of the gifts are practical
I also don't swoop in a buy huge christmas for extended family, they also get practical gifts
Exactly
People need to learn to save for Christmas.. Everyone knows “CHRISTMAS” comes once a year!!!
This is EXACTLY what I was just thinking!
We have a christmas club at my bank. They take a set amount each month and pay it out in October. It's so easy
Rent/Mortgage is MORE IMPORTANT than Christmas. The bills don’t stop. Tell your kids the truth. Their Christmas is a roof over their heads and food in their bellies PLUS kids today get worthless stuff ALL YEAR ROUND!
Small kids shouldn't be burdened with their parents' struggles, just get them something small & cheap
My mom would buy me something when I need it then say happy early christmas in like September lmao. I still got little things for christmas and I was happy with it. My family was never big on holidays though.
“Stanley cups having” 😂😂😂😂😂 girl!!!!!

Rule of thumb I live by: I give to reputable charities and organizations, never individuals. No exceptions. For individuals I give my time and friendship.
sometimes ill ask homeless ppl if I can buy them some food/water but that’s it. ill never give money away, especially not online
I guess it depends on which of these organizations or institutions you consider to actually be "reputable"...
Because SO MANY of them aren't.
😞
Exactly
@MaryJane-zw5pv I completely agree. I work in non-profit accounting, so I have better access to information on local non-profits and know what to look for on our 990s. Research absolutely goes into it.
@@beanybean000omg the amount of times i offer to buy food or other essentials they might need they just say no like huh? why are you outside this store or restaurant then with a sign that says anything helps 🤔😐
5 below has great kids presents! Even dollar tree has toys. I bought my daughter a bunch of art supplies, science kits, books, and building kits at 5 below.
My 11 year old niece and eight year old nephew. Love Five Below so do I sounds like your daughter will be thrilled.
Most of our gifts came from 5 below this year...no shame
Best comment! Literally a box and trip to the park will entertain children of all ages 😂
I had 1 Christmas tree for years and I don’t even know if I had gifts under it. All I remember is the food every year. Needless to say, I’m more of a cooker than a gifter
This! Needs to be top comment! “Its all about stunting on others and fulfilling their childhood trauma” 💯💯💯
AMEN!
Right ! Matching pj's is now a must on christmas. I have been wearing the same christmas sweater for 6 years
Saving is actually something people have to do before they believe it works. SMH. It takes NOTHING to put away $25/wk and that's a wonderful $1300 Xmas for yourself, partner, and 2-3 kids! People ask me all the time, where do you get all this money. We have the same job! I SAVE!! 😆😆
This!! Exactly!! 👏🏼
That was $25 more a week than I had for years. It’s funny how it’s easy to be thin when you can’t afford extra food than the minimum.
Isn't that the cost of a single PlayStation and like 1-2 games tho
People don’t want to save and do without. I don’t feel sorry for these people.
It’s gross!
This!
We have an entire year to save for Christmas. I bought almost all my Christmas presents in one day because I put money aside for 12 paydays.
I make $700 monthly and STILL had enough to get at least 4 people gifts. I’ve known how much I wanna spend since September and stuck to the budget so good I was able to buy a nice gift for a few extra people. A budget it your best friend! That and Jesus✔️
Whew! This!!
Exactly. Same here! I give not one red cent. Sorry not sorry.
People in need are reluctant to ask for help, those are the ones I help
Where are these Christmas hampers…I see free items to sell on EBay
"Tiktok don't pay me much". Well, time to get a job like the rest of us plebeians, Sharon!
Honestly a lot of people live beyond their means, but also, don't give them your hard earned money.
💯
everybody isn’t “about to get evicted” struggling! exactly
You bought what your kids NEED and not want. That’s what it’s all about. Parents need to quit spoiling these ungrateful kids.
Yes I too donate the clothes n toys outgrown to others in need!!
I like when ppl ask for money, I just tell em we broke together 😎 but fr, don't let these ppl play with yall emotions for your hard working money
Living above your means just to be asking folks to pay for YOUR babies to have Christmas gifts is embarrassing
“And then she had a beauty room that was way fancier than a normal beauty room!!”
Maam what even is a beauty room….
It's alot of self entitled people who think they're entitled to other people's money go get a job I can't stand the constant online begging even in real life there's a lot so called people always think someone has to buy them something ,Christmas is one day no need to go broke over it
You’re so right, I unfortunately met a “big bad wolf” and became their prey. Having a kind heart is a curse at times.❤❤❤
This yeah I've been putting $40 aside every paycheque to buy birthday and Christmas presents for my 2 sons and wife.
No stress this year 😁
Girl I’m so glad you said that! “You’re supposed to look and judge righteously”! Yes!
I would never donate money to a stranger online but that’s just me 🤷🏽♂️
Jokes on you because apparently people who give clothes and toys out for the angel tree shouldnt even pick a ticket! 😂
I remember when I struggled to buy my kids christmas gifts. I went to thrift them, I bought new books, candies and they were still happy ^^
I never went to beg online or somewhere for my kids or help me because I struggle.
I’m glad I get to share her❤
scammers take advantage because the people who really need the help arent the kind who will beg for help.
Some people will buy what they want and beg others for things that they need
The beauty salon I go to is next to a bankruptcy attorney’s office. During the first quarter of a new year, the parking lot is very crowded. 😬
I'LL GIVE PRAYERS.🙏🏿🙏🏿
Lying to people about you and your kids struggling is crazy. Not even trying to hide it is even crazier.
The ones that need it the most will NEVER ask for help.
3:38 I laughed so hard in this section 🤣😅😂
Christmas is not a surprise plan.
If God doesn't place it on my heart to give i don't. Periodt
Kids are ungrateful today in society and parents play into it. I DO NOT FEEL SORRY FOR THESE WORTHLESS PARENTS. SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!!!!
This is the stuff that makes me mad because when people really need help for an actual emergency like you’re beloved pet is very sick or the car broke down and unfortunately you don’t have the money but the scammers ruined it
I knew I wasn’t going to have it so I got my kids gifts in September. Happy Holidays everyone 🎄🎁
Lifting the veil and sharing that wisdom Symone!..and the scriptures are unequivocally the best source - appreciate you! Blessings to you and yours.
Its always the ones with the hair, nails and fresh clothes, talking about "i dont have money for my kids". Priorities
Dang that is SO messed up. Something like that can definitely change your perspective on humanity. SMH
I hate people that take advantage like that!!
Doesn't take much to see someone's true character. 🤨 People are willing to play with karma on crazy levels.
bro i was five and my mom would never! NEVER ask for anyones help with gifts or food even though we had nothing in the cupboard
Thank you for addressing this topic! The kind-hearted gullible girls break my heart
Scammers be scamming!
I started shopping in July. Buying one present apiece for my 2 littles. We decided to secret Santa with my grown kids. Makes me so mad when they on here just lieing.
Everywhere.
I got a text saying "A friend told me you have a mansion on the beach, I'd like more info so I can hopefully put a deposit for the Christmas holiday"
😂😂😂
I just blocked them.
I usually would play along, but I'm busy making dollar tree Christmas Crafts in my beach mansion 😅❤🎄🎁⛄🕯️
😂
Here’s my thing. Christmas comes at the same time, every single year. I don’t even have kids-but I know that every single year, in the months coming up-if I want to spend the money I want to for presents, I’m already putting money aside. Because I know that every single year, come December, I will be spending more money than usual. In my opinion, there is little excuse to not having the money for Christmas presents for your kids when you KNOW you gonna need that money each year come December. (Now, I am talking about those who ARE financially secure and then crying on TikTok lol)
Again, i am NOT talking here about those whole fall on hard times, or are not able to set aside money. Thats not who this comment is about. But for the types of people that this video is discussing: start putting money aside starting in like July. Only spend what you want to spend on presents. Then, you will be stress free come Christmas.
These scammers ruin it for people who are truly in need
My daughters first Christmas we were BROKE BROKE but we still made it happen with used toys off marketplace, dollar tree for stocking stuffers etc and it worked out but I never was online begging for money because that’s embarrassing imo if you really wanna give back this Christmas season donate to toys for tots or an angel tree at a local school
Some people have No shame. When they should be full of it.
I just put a video on my channel about paying off 107k worth of debt just to be accountable. Although I’m actively paying it off, I would never get on here begging for money 😂
Yesssss!!! Thank you for using my video ! These things definitely need to be talked about more !
Can we get a part 2 of tiktok scammers? I feel like theres ever more to cover on this topic!
Christmas is not a surprise 😂 This is so very true.
When I started my own business, boy, did the beggars and grifters come out! At least I wasn't taken off guard but the stories....goodness gracious.
I bought my 2 daughters affordable presents, between $10-$30 but still very nice things. I’m lucky my kids don’t want $500 gifts I guess 😅😅
Same..my girls ever want that name brand crap they'll buy it themselves
@ right! last night my oldest got money from her grandpa, and later said she wanted something.
If you own multiple Stanley Cups... don't get on tiktok begging 😂
And these people are the same people who turn their noses up as those of us who buy our children second hand gifts.
I start Christmas shopping in March. It’s the best thing ever and you don’t get overhelmed. I buy some gifts here and there so it’s not all at once
😂😂hilarious title! Trueness 😂🎉🎉
Thank you! I thought it had a ring to it 😂😂😂
It does 🔔😁@@SocialSymone
Great commentary!! We're have the finance to christmas this year, but guess what? We're skipping christmas this year. My family and I are gonna lounge around the house eating good food and desserts. Watch a few movies and that's it! We're teaching our kids that you don't have to splurge every year on things that are not really needed. God has bless us so much throughout this year and christmas isn't gonna make spend money necessarily. Merry Christmas, guys. Don't be burdened by what others are doing. Do you this year!!!❤
Your hair, your skin, YOU are just so beautiful 🤎
i swear ppl don’t know how to be frugal, ive been eating 65¢ mac n cheese from target like 4 times a week to save
I barely give to family members, ain’t no way giving to strangers on social media.
There are abundance of resources out there and holidays is a reoccurring event. You have 364 days to get your finances together to get YOUR kid(s) some gifts.
Holy f, my native language is Spanish but I consume this types of videos in English, and for some reason this video started in Spanish, but in a 5x speed robotic Spanish, that scared the crap out of me
That lady peach does this type of scam every few months
People who are really struggling are moms like me, who are out shopping marketplace, selling clothes, and teaching our kids that we can’t have everything we asked for, just like our parents taught us.
This drives me crazy too… I get so annoyed. Like *PRIORITIZE!!* But they only care about themselves… 🙄 I’m a new subscriber, you make me LOL! 😂 ❤
I love your approach. We need to be judging. Not in the sense: good people and bad people, because each of us should do what is best for them and we don't know what is best for others. But in a sense : is this true? is this reasonable? is this for me? We should judge.
People act like we don't know that Christmas comes at the same time every year.
The people who are truly struggling are not plastering it all over the internet and social media. These people are just absolutely ridiculous.
I knew I couldn't afford Christmas gifts this year, so I decided to crochet gifts. Almost everything was made out of stuff I already had. Though I did end up spending $50 for some accessories for a couple of gifts. Like, I needed button eyes and stuff.
