This reminds me of the tipping culture debate. Personally I think mandatory tipping is dumb as the "burden" is meant to be on employers not the consumer and employee. Somehow we've gotten trapped into it all being out problem and the ones actually in control couldn't care less 😭

Just seeing this & I completely agree with the 1st lady! DO NOT PUT MY KIDS THINGS WITH EVERBODY ELSE'S because I bought them! The school didn't pay for my kids things, so everybody ain't finna use em! Folks gonna have to figure it out, like the rest of us single, hardworking parents out here! 🎵Not my problem, that's just not my problem...

But 3 24 count packs of pencils!?! This was this year. For my 4th grader. I could see 2, but 3 of them? There's no way a single kid goes through 2 packs of pencils. When I was in school, we only needed 1 pack. For the year. And we didn't do everything on computers. No. We had to write everything. Still only one pack of pencils was needed.

I’ll answer why no shorts, because people don’t have common sense. If knee length khaki shorts were the dress code people will start wearing Daisy Dukes & cry that’s not acceptable. Oh & wear clothes that fit!

I think you hit the nail on the head very early... "...if you have the resources..." alot of people really don't right now and I think that is where the problem is.

My husband and I eloped at the city hall. I bought a white dress off of Amazon, he wore a suit he already owned, and we went to Olive Garden afterwards (they gave us a free slice of cake). We spent less than $250 for everything and have no regrets 6 years later. We never expected our parents to pay for anything after we reached adulthood and only received the occasional birthday or Christmas gift. We paid for our own college, cars, housing, baby supplies, and wedding. The entitlement today is unreal.

I buy supplies specifically for my kids, which get labels, AND supplies for "communal" classroom supplies. I get that not everyone can afford this (sometimes I can't either), but if just a few parents buy extra stuff for the whole class, everybody gets what they need. When I see items on the "student list" that include multiples (like 3 boxes of tissues), I buy ONE box and tell my child to let me know when they run out. The supply lists my schools gove out usually include individual items the students need, then another "wish list" for the classroom that includes community items.

i took out payday loans many years ago and did it with an online company and they DID show the apr that i would be paying; it is usually on the first page of the loan .. so i don't agree with it not be disclosed .. it was on the first page..

Sounds like theft too me. Bring your own stuff. If you take someone else's that is stealing you should be charged and punished by law. This isn't hard.

What happened to the KIDS KEEPING THEIR SUPPLIES IN THEIR OWN DESK?????? Or are there NO DESKS ANY MORE????? If no desks just tables then put the individual supplies in individual plastic shoe boxes and label them with the kid's names. That way kids learn from the get go what is theirs and not to touch anybody else's.

Just seeing this and this is sad! After repossession, you must pay any legal fees associated with the vehicle and all repair costs to make the vehicle ready to sell. In most cases, this will go to litigation through a court and the bank will get a summary judgement against the person. At that point, now the bank has the right to garnish wages until they are made whole. You can’t escape the judgement and will follow you until it’s paid. The bank also has the right to go into any accounts you hold and take funds at will or put a lean against your home or property. Of course, the court will allow all of this. Buy a cheap reliable car and these problems can be avoided!!!

Parents work there tails off to buy supplies for their kids. Yes there are things like tissues and other supplies that benefit the whole classroom. Ultimately it’s the parents responsibility to make sure their kids have the supplies they need for school. The unprepared parents can’t put that on other parents and the teacher. It didn’t take a community to create that baby. It took two people only. So the mother and the father need to figure it out.

Whatever happened to FREE education? Every time you turn around they need money for something now we're paying for the whole class.

Hi, I’m a teacher and I have worked only at schools with communal supplies and I can explain a few things. 1. Schools don’t do enough to distinguish between personal and communal supplies. I feel the problem would diminish if parents were aware which supplies would be used for the classroom. 2. We use an incredible amount of cleaning supplies, tissues, etc in the classroom. 11 bottles of hand sanitizer per kid is actually really reasonable for the entire school year, especially when every kid is supposed to use it regularly to reduce spread of illness. We went through a box of tissues a day, sometimes more, during flu season. I know it seems like a lot, but kids are pretty messy. 3. Is it fair for parents to have supply these things? Well, in a perfect world, no. However, schools simply do not get the funding to provide these supplies. The good side is that every kid gets to use the communal supplies at some point, even your kid with the fancy supplies. Everyone forgets things at home, loses things, breaks things, at some point they will need it and you will be glad it was there.

Private school grade 3, my sons school is requiring that all supplies be engraved with my sons name on them, Do you know how hard it is to find the Staedtler 72 coloured pencils with his name engraved? its a real pain. at least the leather notebooks is fairly easy to find. I know some supplies will be lost / borrowed / traded / stolen by the kids sitting next to him, and that ok. that why we order extra and send them in as needed.

Dude wow..I'm speechless that people can feel entitled to a car they didn't even fully buy. Pay your bills and you got nothing to worry about! I feel lucky that I bought my 2002 toyota camry back in December of 2019 for $700. Sure it needed quite a bit of money put into it, but I'm glad I did. I'd rather buy a fixer-upper than finance a car, that's for sure! By the way, my camry just hit 310k total miles and still running great. Cross my fingers it lasts long enough into the next recession, so I can buy a car in better condition on a fire sale.

Single mom of two. Thankfully, my kids are now in high school, where the school supplies list is smaller. When my kids were younger, I would start buying school supplies during summer. Each payday, I would buy one item I knew that they would need. I also stocked up on supplies when everything goes on sell. For Christmas, my kids brought in another set of basics for the classroom.

I love perfumes but will only really buy 10ml samples rather than full bottles, if i repeat buy the same 10ml sample a few times i'll save up for the bottle. I put aside £20-£50 a month for my hobby, with samples it means I can try a good few different scents a month. I used to spend money on full bottles but it's such a waste as I get bored of the scents generally!

I work in insurance, it’s pretty buttoned up. However, we are permitted to wear shorts in summer as long as they’re Bermuda length. Would I wear them to an interview? Absolutely not.

Why is no one talking about the fact that people pay taxes, and the government squanders it. Teachers make pennies, kids' parents are paying for lunch and field trips, going without necessary materials or using damaged ones... and now sharing school supplies? This was a problem before inflation but inflation was like feeding the problem steroids

I'd rather have a big party after a 10 year anniversary than for the wedding itself.

The way these comments don’t take into account not everyone is like that girl who bought a car with tax money knowing she couldn’t afford it after. There is not much job security nowadays and finding a job sometime takes month(S) people can lose their job at the drop of a dime and then struggle to get a new one. I’m not judging anyone that goes through this. I just bought a car I’m in love with back in April and my bills are paid on time every single month but life happens, just be thankful you aren’t in this situation. Not everyone wants to drive a paid off hoopty 😒
